AIM To determine influence of neoadjuvant-chemotherapy(NAC) over tumor-infiltrating-lymphocytes(TIL) intriple-negative-breast-cancer(TNBC).METHODS TILs were evaluated in 98 TNBC cases who came to Instituto Nacional de Enfermedades Neoplasicas from 2005 to 2010. Immunohistochemistry staining for CD3, CD4, CD8 and FOXP3 was performed in tissue microarrays(TMA) sections. Evaluation of H/E in full-face and immunohistochemistry in TMA sections was performed in pre and post-NAC samples. STATA software was used and P value < 0.05 was considered statistically significant. RESULTS Higher TIL evaluated in full-face sections from pre-NAC tumors was associated to pathologic-complete-response(pCR)(P = 0.0251) and outcome(P = 0.0334). TIL evaluated in TMA sections showed low level of agreement with full-face sections(ICC = 0.017-0.20) and was not associated to pCR or outcome. TIL in post-NAC samples were not associated to response or outcome. PostNAC lesions with pC R had similar TIL levels than those without pCR(P = 0.6331). NAC produced a TIL decrease in full-face sections(P < 0.0001). Percentage of TIL subpopulations was correlated with their absolute counts. Higher counts of CD3, CD4, CD8 and FOXP3 in pre-NAC samples had longer disease-free-survival(DFS). Higher counts of CD3 in pre-NAC samples had longer overallsurvival. Higher ratio of CD8/CD4 counts in pre-NAC was associated with pCR. Higher ratio of CD4/FOXP3 counts in pre-NAC was associated with longer DFS. Higher counts of CD4 in post-NAC samples were associated with *** TIL in pre-NAC full-face sections in TNBC are correlated to longer survival. TIL in full-face differ from TMA sections, absolute count and percentage analysis of TIL subpopulation closely related.

Background: Treatment is an important component of a comprehensive cancer control approach and its outcomes strongly depend on infrastructure, equipment, human and financial resources available. Therefore it is imperative to generate evidence-based tools to assist health policy makers from low resourced countries in planning efficient and equitable treatment services for a defined population based on what it is feasible to these settings. Methods: The intended cancer spe-cific treatment planned and written in the patients’ medical record (treatment prescription) of untreated adult cancer cases (≥18 years of age), excluding non-melanoma skin cancer, was recorded in a chronological way from 1 January 2012 onwards in a group of eight comprehensive cancer centres located in middle income countries and offering the main modalities of cancer treatment (surgery, medical oncology and radiotherapy). Results: A total of 17,713 medical records were reviewed, of which 7106 (54.2%) met the eligibility criteria. Prescription of main cancer treatment modalities were distributed as follows: 57.6% for chemotherapy (n = 4093), 56.8% for surgery (n = 4038), and 46.8% for radiotherapy (n = 3327). There was a predominance of plans consisting of combined treatment modalities over monotherapy (55.2% versus 44.8%). At the time of diagnosis 54.3% of the cancer cases had disease that had spread beyond the primary site, 41.2% were considered as having local disease and in 4.5% of the cases the information on disease extension was unknown. Conclusions: The results obtained should be seen as an approximation of cancer treatment service demand based on what it is currently practiced and therefore feasible in developing countries, particularly in middle income countries.

Background: Cancer is a leading cause of death worldwide as well as in Peru. The national cancer plan includes decentralization, but one of the greatest barriers is our complicated geography. San Martin is a department located in the Peruvian jungle where there are no public services for cancer care. Our aim was to implement a “distance telemedicine-enabled” outpatient chemotherapy module, monitored by oncologists. Methods: The implementation was conducted in 3 stages: 1) Planning and Organization: working teams were formed, a chemotherapy room was developed and people were trained. 2) Execution: patients from San Martín region, aged >18 years with pathological confirmation of cancer, requiring systemic chemotherapy, ECOG <3, and first course of chemotherapy received at INEN without adverse reaction were selected. 3) Evaluation: adverse events, cost-user evaluation and quality of life (QoL) were assessed. Results: By November 2015, a module with a chemotherapy room with 18 chairs, a pharmacy, a hospitalization room, 1 medical office, a training room, a nutrition area, and a nursing station was implemented. 3 physicians, 3 nurses and 1 pharmacist were trained. Through March 2018, 501 sessions of teleoncology were completed to deliver 232 cycles of chemotherapy for 56 patients aged 19 - 78 years with different solid tumors, with no serious adverse event, without negatively affecting their QoL, and with an average out-of-pocket expense saving of 500 PEN. Conclusions: Using information and communication technology, a telechemotherapy module was successfully implemented in the Peruvian jungle, without adversely affecting the QoL of patients. Neither patients nor family members needed to travel to Lima to receive chemotherapy. Leveraging big data analytics and advanced algorithms to accelerate and optimize the process of molecular and materials design, synthesis, and application has revolutionized the field of molecular and materials science, allowing researchers to gain a deeper understanding of material properties and behaviors,leading to the development of new materials that are more efficient and reliable. However, the difficulty in constructing large-scale datasets of new molecules/materials due to the high cost of data acquisition and annotation limits the development of conventional machine learning(ML) approaches. Knowledgereused transfer learning(TL) methods are expected to break this dilemma. The application of TL lowers the data requirements for model training, which makes TL stand out in researches addressing data quality issues. In this review, we summarize recent progress in TL related to molecular and materials. We focus on the application of TL methods for the discovery of advanced molecules/materials, particularly, the construction of TL frameworks for different systems, and how TL can enhance the performance of models. In addition, the challenges of TL are also discussed.

Social media is commonly used by governments to disseminate information related to transparency and institutional promotion,but its potential for the dissemination of cultural resources is often *** research proposes a strategy for adopting social media to achieve cultural dissemination in the municipality of Lamas,Peru,which has tourism potential and has been awarded the“Best Tourism Villages”seal of the World Tourism ***,we propose a case study at a propositional exploratory *** start by determining the current state of dissemination of tangible and intangible resources,as well as the practical use of social media,through a survey of 20 *** results reveal that crafts are the most widely disseminated tangible resource in the municipality(according to 55%of officials),and intangible resources are occasionally disseminated(50%).We also find that Facebook is the only digital channel used to disseminate cultural *** this context,we formulate a strategy for adopting social media to improve cultural dissemination,which consists of six phases:(i)forming a work team,(ii)preparing a budget plan,(iii)strengthening capacities,(iv)taking inventory of cultural resources,(v)coordinating community interests and(vi)preparing a cultural dissemination *** findings can contribute to formulating public initiatives for the institutionalisation of social media in governments for the purposes of preserving,promoting and guaranteeing the accessibility of cultural heritage.
