应激是有机体在受到真实或者潜在的威胁刺激时所表现出来的全身性非特异性反应,伴随着紧张和焦虑的心理体验,交感神经系统的兴奋,糖皮质激素分泌的增多以及脑干-边缘系统-前额叶神经环路的改变。应激对个体在风险决策行为中的风险寻求和风险回避倾向,社会决策行为中的利己和利他倾向都会产生重要影响。策略使用异常、习惯化和自动化反应增强、反馈学习过程以及奖惩敏感性的改变是应激影响决策行为的认知基础;应激激素的分泌,及杏仁核、前额叶等在决策过程发挥重要作用的脑区活动的改变则为应激作用于决策行为的神经基础。未来研究应重点关注:应激的个体差异与应激对决策影响效应多样性的关系;综合多种指标对应激进行测量;考察应激的时序效应;揭示个体的最佳应激水平;加强对慢性应激影响决策以及应激对决策影响效应可逆性的研究;揭示应激影响决策的神经机制。

Rumination,as a clinical manifestation and pathogenic factor of depression,has long been the focus of psycho-logical research regarding its causes and ameliorating *** studies have shown that rumina-tion is related to inhibitory control deficits,which provides ideas for reducing ***,the neural relationship between them has not been clearly *** this study,we first used multi-level kernel density analysis to conduct two meta-analyses of published functional magnetic resonance imaging studies:one was rumination comprising 17 studies with 180 foci,and the other was inhibitory control comprising 205 studies with 3791 *** analysis was then performed to explore the common brain regions and further decode them through Neurosynth to confirm the cognitive *** showed that rumination was mainly related to the default mode network(DmN),while inhibitory control was associated with the frontoparietal network(FPN).In addition,the common activation areas were mainly concentrated in the bilateral precuneus,right supe-rior frontal gyrus,bilateral median cingulate,paracingulate gyri,and the left triangular part of inferior frontal gyrus(IFG).Decoding results also revealed they were involved in inhibition,memory retrieval,and self-related *** findings support that rumination is associated with inhibitory control and can be explained neu-rologically by an antagonistic relationship between the DmN and *** sum,inhibitory control may be related to rumination via inhibiting task-unrelated attention and controlling self-related *** research will help us understand and predict rumination from the perspective of inhibitory control and reduce rumination through behavioral training of inhibitory control or the application of neuromodulation techniques to common activation regions.

＜正＞Although therapeutic effect of physical exercise on stress-related disorders has long been recognized,detailed neurobiological basis of counteractive effect exercise on stress remain *** exercise is known to increase hippocampal neurogenesis,enhance dendritic plasticity and improve cognitive function,while chronic stress or exposure to exogenous glucocorticoid showed opposite *** current study,an animal model with graded stress level（by different dosages of corticosterone injection） was used to examine the significance of hippocampal neurogenesis and dendritic plasticity in the exercise effects under stress *** results showed that restored neurogenesis was associated with improved hippocampal-dependent memory and decreased depression-like behavior in stressed animals. After blockade of hippocampal cell proliferation by cytosine-b-D-arabinofuranoside（Ara-c）,behavioral benefits of exercise disappeared in stressed rats,whereas there was no effect on control *** the increased cell proliferation after running,dendritic enrichment of pyramidal neurons in hippocampal cA3 region was also observed in normal and stressed rats with *** effect on dendritic enrichment was still observed in both normal and stressed rats as previously observed in Ara-c infused *** addition,running increased the neuronal differentiation of newly generated cells in both normal and stressed *** conclusion,our data might suggest that in stressed rat, maintaining an intact hippocampal function,which involved（1） continuous progenitor cell proliferation leading to increased production of new neurons;（2） enhanced dendritic plasticity,may enable exercise to counteract stress.

＜正＞Objective chronic corticosterone treatment was shown to suppress neurogenesis in hippocampus,while antidepressant treatment increases new hippocampal neuron *** previously showed that the suppressed neurogenesis in hippocampus could be attenuated by simultaneous selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor（SSRI） treatment. However,it is unknown whether the dendritic maturation of immature neurons is affected by these two classes of drugs. method Sprague-Dawley rats were divided into four groups:（1）.corticosterone treatment,（2）.Paroxetine（a SSRI） treatment,（3）.co-treatment of corticosterone and paroxetine and（4）.control group with vehicle *** two weeks’ treatment,animals were killed and brain sections were immunostained with anti-doublecortin（DcX,an immature neuron marker） *** morphologies of immature neurons were analyzed by Sholl *** tissue was collected for brain-derived neurotrophic factor ELISA assay and DcX *** compared to control group, immature neurons of corticosterone group showed a decreased dendritic *** contrast,paroxetine treatment increased the dendritic ***-treatment group showed dendritic complexity which is similar to control group. Hippocampal BDNF level is significantly decreased in corticosterone treatment group while co-treatment with paroxetine reversed the *** treatment also increased the expression level of DcX in *** Apart from neurogenesis,the present study shows that corticosterone and SSRI also affect dendritic growth of immature *** effect is associated with alternated hippocampal BDNF and DcX expression *** finding provides a new perspective on how stress hormone and antidepressant affect neuroplasticity,which may underlie the pathology of depressive and other psychiatric disorders.

Depression and Suicidal Risk in HIV-Infected Adults at Brazzaville University Hospital: Prevalence and Associated Factors

Introduction: Highly active antiretroviral tritherapies have improved the quality of life of people living with HIV (PVVIH) and extended their life expectancy. However, the nervous system is faced with a neurotropic virus that evolves chronically, sometimes creating neurological disorders directly or indirectly linked to stigmatization or therapeutic effects. Objective: to determine the prevalence of depression associated with suicidal risk (SR) and identify associated factors. Patients and method: This was a prospective descriptive and analytical study from January 1 to November 30, 2022, including all HIV-positive patients receiving or not receiving antiretroviral therapy. The study took place in the infectious diseases department of Brazzaville University Hospital. This department has an inpatient capacity of 36 beds, and an outpatient capacity of 25 patients per day, three times a week. This is the largest center for PVVIH in Brazzaville. The Patient Heath Questionnaire 9 (PHQ-9) was used to assess the degree of depression and suicidal risk. Therapeutic adherence was assessed using the morisky questionnaire. Data were analyzed using SPSS version 23 software. Qualitative variables were expressed as numbers and percentages, and quantitative variables as means and standard deviations. Statistical tests were used according to their applicability criteria. For all tests, the significance threshold was set at 0.05. Results: A total of 150 patients were consulted, constituting the sample size. The prevalence of depression and suicidal risk was 32%. These patients had an average age of 42.83 ± 10.24 years, were female (n = 101;67.3%), christian (n = 97;64%), single (n = 68;45.3%). Stigmatization (n = 75;50%) was the reason for attempted suicide. HIV was perceived as treatable (n = 103;68.7%), unlucky (n = 62;41.3%). Patients were WHO stage 1 (n = 105;70%). RS was present in 47 cases (31.3%). Low dose of corticosterone treatment with exercise increases hippocampal cell proliferation, and improves cognition

Intermediate level of stress is beneficial for brain functions, whereas extreme low level or high level of stress is deleterious. We have previously shown that chronic exposure to high doses of corticosterone （cORT） suppressed hippocampal plasticity and physical exercise in terms of running counteracted the detrimental effects of cORT treatment. We aimed to study whether a mild stress, that mimicked by a treatment with low cORT dose, improved hippocampal plasticity in terms of hippocampal cell proliferation and dendritic remodeling, and to examine whether running with cORT treatment showed an additive effect on improving hippocampal plasticity. The rats were treated with 20 mg/kg cORT for 14 days with or without running, followed by morris water maze test or forced swim test. The hippocampal proliferating cells was labeled by intraperitoneal injection of 5-bromo-2＇-deoxyuridine. The dendritic morphology was analyzed using Golgi staining method. Treatment with 20 mg/kg cORT alone yielded a higher number of hippocampal cell proliferation and significantly increased dendritic branching compared to vehicle-treated non-runners, but had no behavioral effects. In contrast, cORT treatment with running showed an additive increase in hippocampal cell proliferation and dendritic remodeling that was associated with improved spatial learning and decreased depression-like behavior; however, there was no additive improvement in behavior compared to vehicle-treated runners. These findings suggest that mild stress does not always cause detrimental effect on the brain, and combining mild stress with running could promote hippocampal plasticity via inducing cell proliferation and dendritic remodeling.

Background Rumination refers a persistent, passive focus on negative self-relevant information, is implicated in the development, maintenance and prolong of depressive symptoms. A better knowledge understanding neural correlates of depressive ruminative would pave the way to understand the pathology mechanism of major depressive disorder(mDD). In this study, we aimed to anatomize ruminative neural network organizational profile in healthy state and the specific pattern under depressive state indicated by major depressive disorder. methods & Results In study 1, we defined the ruminative neural network by laboratory rumination induction task in 28 healthy adults in mRI scanner. We collected bold-fmRI data using EPI sequence. Firstly, we found that rumination had been successfully induced indicated by higher self-focus compared with concrete distraction condition. Furthermore, by using general linear model analysis, we found brain regions in posterior part of default mode network, visual mental imagery and emotional processing are largely engaged, which was defined as ruminative neural network. In Study 2, we acquired the resting state fmRI data from 53 patients with mDD and 47 age-, gender-matched healthy controls in 3 T Philip scanner. With standard data preprocessing including, by constructing the ruminative functional connectome in 53 mDD and 47 healthy controls, we found that compared with Hc, the functional segregation and integration in mDD were disrupted severely as indicated by a decreased cluster coefficient(cp, p = 0.037, cohen d = 0.36), local efficiency(Eloc, p = 0.029, cohen d = 0.40), global efficiency(Eglob, p = 0.013, cohen d = 0.47), and increased characteristic shortest path length(Lp, p = 0.006, cohen d = 0.52). Further spotting on the regional metrics showed decreases in mDD were located mainly at the bilateral amygdala, the right precuneus, the middle occipital gyrus, the left inferior parietal lobule, and the right superior parietal lobule.
