Predicting short-term adverse outcomes in the geriatric population presenting with syncope:a comparison of existing syncope rules and beyond

Dynamic response in two-dimensional transversely isotropic thick plate with spatially varying heat sources and body forces

This paper deals with a two-dimensional （2D） problem for a transverselyisotropic thick plate having heat sources and body forces. The upper surface of the plate is stress free with the prescribed surface temperature, while the lower surface of the plate rests on a rigid foundation and is thermally insulated. The study is carried out in the context of the generalized thermoelasticity proposed by Green and Naghdi. The governing equations for displacement and temperature fields are obtained in the Laplace-Fourier transform domain by applying the Laplace and Fourier transforms. The inversion of the double transform is done numerically. Numerical inversion of the Laplace transform is done based on the Fourier series expansion. Numerical computations are carried out for magnesium （mg）, and the results are presented graphically. The results for an isotropic material （Cu） are obtained numerically and presented graphically to be compared with those of a transversely isotropic material （mg）. The effect of the body forces is also studied.

Superiority of Strontium-Doped Barium Titanate as an Electron Transport for Perovskite Solar Cells for Enhanced Efficiency and Thermal Stability

This study presents a detailed comparative analysis of three electron transport layer（ETL） materials for perovskite solar cells（PSCs）,namely titanium dioxide（TiO2）,barium titanate（BaTiO3or BTO）,and strontium-doped barium titanate(Ba1-xSrxTiO3or BST),and their impact on the quantum efficiency（QE） and power conversion efficiency（PCE） of CH3NH3PbI3（mAPbI3） *** optimized structure demonstrates that devices utilizing BST as an ETL achieved the highest PCE of 29.85%,exhibiting superior thermal stability with the lowest temperature coefficient of-0.43%/*** temperature-induced degradation is comparable to that of commercially available silicon ***,BST-based ETLs show 29.50% and 26.48% higher PCE than those of TiO2-based and BTO-based *** enhanced internal QE and favorable current density-voltage（J-V） characteristics of BST compared with those of TiO2and BTO are attributed to its improved charge carrier separation,reduced recombination rates,and robust electrical characteristics under varied environmental ***,the electric field and generation rate of the BST-based ETLs show a more favorable distribution than those of the TiO2-based and BTO-based *** findings provide significant insights into the role of different ETLs in enhancing QE,indicating that BST is a superior ETL that enhances both the efficiency and stability of *** study contributes to the understanding of how perovskite-structured ETLs can be used to design and optimize highly efficient and stable photovoltaic devices.

Genetic diversity and association mapping for salinity tolerance in Bangladeshi rice landraces

Breeding for salinity tolerance using Bangladeshi rice landraces and understand genetic diversity has been limited by the complex and polygenic nature of salt tolerance in rice genotypes. A genetic diversity and association mapping analysis was conducted using 96 germplasm accessions with variable response to salt stress at the seedling stage. These included86 landraces and 10 indica varieties and lines including Nona Bokra, from southern Bangladesh. A total of 220 alleles were detected at 58 Simple Sequence Repeat(SSR) marker loci randomly distributed on all 12 rice chromosomes and 8 Sequence Tagged Site(STS) markers developed for genes SKC1, DST, and SalT. The average gene diversity was 0.5075 and polymorphism information content value was 0.4426, respectively. Cluster analysis revealed that 68 and 21 accessions were clustered into 2 distinct groups, possibly corresponding to indica and japonica groups, respectively and the remaining 7 landraces were classified as an admixed group. In addition to Wn11463, the STS marker for SKC1, Rm22418 on Chr. 8 was significantly associated with salinity tolerance, at the location of a QTL detected in previous studies. Our findings of favorable alleles associated with salinity tolerance in Bangladeshi rice landraces, as well as the development of STS markers for salt tolerance genes, will be helpful in future efforts to breed salinity tolerance in rice.

Systematic mutational analysis of epitope-grafted ED3 immunogenicity reveals a DENV3-DENV4 bi-serospecific ED3 mutant

During the non-breeding season(September–April), Black-tailed Godwits(Limosa limosa) are commonly seen in coastal and inland wetlands of the Ganges-Brahmaputra-meghna Delta in Bangladesh. We hypothesize that the Ganges-Brahmaputra-meghna Delta, at the overlap between the Central Asian and East Asian–Australasian flyways, may host three subspecies that breed in disjunct areas of temperate and northern Asia: L. l. limosa, L. l. melanuroides, and L. l. bohaii. We used mitochondrial DNA(mt DNA) haplotype network and biometric analysis to determine subspecies in captured individuals, and deployed GPS–GSm transmitters to verify breeding areas of individuals with subspecies assignments. To test for differential habitat preferences, we sampled birds at two ecologically distinct habitats known to host the largest concentrations of non-breeding Black-tailed Godwits in Bangladesh: Nijhum Dweep National Park, a tidal coastal habitat with brackish water on the south-central coast, and Tanguar Haor(‘backmarsh'), a seasonal freshwater floodplain in the north. During the non-breeding seasons of 2021–2022 and 2022–2023, we sampled and measured 93 Black-tailed Godwits, 54 of which were equipped with GPS–GSm transmitters. Our mt DNA haplotype network analysis confirmed the presence of limosa, melanuroides, and bohaii subspecies at the study sites. Thus, indeed, Black-tailed Godwits subspecies, despite having distinct breeding ranges, exhibit(partially) overlapping non-breeding ranges in Asia. The subspecies composition differed significantly between sites, with limosa and bohaii dominating in Tanguar Haor and melanuroides in Nijhum Dweep. Of the 21 individuals that were tracked to their breeding grounds, 18 migrated to the expected breeding range of their respective subspecies. However, one bird with a limosa haplotype migrated to a known breeding area of bohaii, whereas two birds with melanuroides haplotypes migrated to the supposed breeding range of limosa. Canopy openings have a vital role in forest structure,regeneration,and plant *** this study,we investigated and compared the species composition and densities of seedlings and saplings between canopy gaps(openings)and forest understories(in dense canopies)in a sub-tropical forest of *** objectively identified 42 canopy openings between transect lines and 42 main plots in dense canopies,sampled for regeneration and young tree *** the regeneration study,we placed 2 m×2 m four subplots in each canopy opening and the main plot of dense canopy,thus making a total of 336 *** species diversity of seedlings,saplings,and trees were significantly(P≤0.05)higher in the dense canopy than in the canopy ***,most dominant and frequent regenerating species such as Diospyros pilosula,Garcinia cowa,Brownlowia elata,and Lithocarpus polystachya were common in both dense canopy and openings,the canopy openings had the highest Importance Value Index,suggesting the significance of gap dynamics in the dominance of native floral *** dense canopy played an important role in forest compositions because 12 regenerating species,including Stereospermum suaveolens and Diospyros montana,were not found in the canopy openings,implying that rain forests must maintain a high canopy cover for regeneration.

Crystal Structures, Optical, Electrical and magnetic Properties of Ca0.9Sr0.1mn1−xmoxO3 Perovskites for the Applications of multifunctional Devices

The standard solid-state reaction method was employed to synthesize the polycrystalline Ca0.9Sr0.1mn1−xmoxO3 (CSmmO with x = 0.00, 0.02, 0.04, 0.06, and 0.08) ceramics and each composition was sintered at 1300˚C for 4 hours. The crystal structure, microstructure, optical properties, electrical properties, complex initial permeability, and DC magnetization of the prepared compositions were carried out. The compound exhibited perovskite structure with the transformation of phase from orthorhombic symmetry for x = 0.00 to x = 0.04 samples into a tetragonal symmetry for the samples x = 0.06 and x = 0.08. The lattice constant was found to be enhanced with the doping of mo concentration. The mean grain size was estimated in the micrometer, with values from 1.3045 to 3.0124 µm. Energy band gap (Eg) was determined for each composition and the magnitudes of Eg were lying between 1.85 - 4.00 eV. The Eg values firstly decreased with the doping content up to 2% and, then, increased for 4% to 6% mo contents, where it again very slightly decreased for 8% mo content. The lowest value of Eg was obtained for the x = 0.02 composition. The FTIR spectra revealed the existence of a metal oxide band in each of the prepared samples and supported the formation of a single-phase compound of synthesized material without any impurity, as confirmed by the XRD analysis. The electrical properties, such as resistivity and AC conductivity, were collected using the Impedance analyzer at room temperature. The resistivity and AC conductivity increased with the addition of dopant concentration. The frequency-dependent conductivity spectra showed three distinct regions. The complex initial permeability (μ′) was found to be enhanced with the addition of mo and the highest value was noticed the 6% mo dopant sample. First principles calculations of structural, electronic, mechanical, and thermodynamic properties of different poly- morphs of BiVO4 are performed using Bender-type plane/wave ultrasoft pseudopotentials within the generalized gradient approximation （GGA） in the flame of density functional theory （DFT）. The calculated structural and electronic properties are consistent with the previous theoretical and experimental results. The electronic structures reveal that m-BiVO4, op- BiVO4, and st-BiVO4 have indirect band gaps, on the other hand, zt-BiVO4 has a direct band gap. From the DOS and mulliken＇s charge analysis, it is observed that only m-BiVO4 has 6s2 Bi lone pair. Bond population analysis indicates that st-BiVO4 shows a more ionic nature and a similar result is obtained from the elastic properties. From the elastic prop- erties, it is observed that st-BiVO4 is more mechanically stable than the others, st-BiVO4 is more ductile and useful for high electro-optical and electro-mechanical coupling devices. Our calculated thermodynamic properties confirm the similar characteristics found from electronic and elastic properties, m-BiVO4 is useful as photocatalysts, solid state electrolyte, and electrode and other polymorphs are applicable in electronic device fabrications.
