Bear bile powder attenuates senecionine-induced hepatic sinusoidal obstruction syndrome in mice

Hepatic sinusoidal obstruction syndrome(HSOS)via exposure to pyrrolizidine alkaloids(PAs)is with high mortality and there is no effective treatment in *** bile powder(BBP)is a famous traditional animal drug for curing a variety of hepatobiliary diseases such as cholestasis,inflammation,and ***,we aim to evaluate the protective effect of BBP against HSOS induced by senecionine,a highly hepatotoxic PA *** results showed that BBP treatment protected mice from senecionine-induced HSOS dose-dependently,which was evident by improved liver histology including reduced infiltration of inflammatory cells and collagen positive cells,alleviated intrahepatic hemorrhage and hepatic sinusoidal endothelial cells,as well as decreased conventional serum liver function *** addition,BBP treatment lowered matrix metalloproteinase 9 and pyrrole-protein adducts,two well-known markers positively associated with the severity of PA-induced *** investigation showed that BBP treatment prevents the development of liver fibrosis by decreasing transforming growth factor beta and downstream fibrotic *** treatment also alleviated senecionine-induced liver inflammation and lowered the pro-inflammatory cytokines,in which taurours-odeoxycholic acid played an important ***’s more,BBP treatment also decreased the accumulation of hydrophobic bile acids,such as cholic acid,taurocholic acid,glycocholic acid,as *** concluded that BBP attenuates senecionine-induced HSOS in mice by repairing the bile acids homeostasis,preventing liver fibrosis,and alleviating liver *** present study helps to pave the way to therapeutic approaches of the treatment of PA-induced liver injury in clinics.

Multiscale analysis of fine slag from pulverized coal gasification in entrained-flow bed

Fine slag(FS)is an unavoidable by-product of coal ***,which is a simple heap of solid waste left in the open air,easily causes environmental pollution and has a low resource utilization rate,thereby restricting the development of energy-saving coal gasification *** multiscale analysis of FS performed in this study indicates typical grain size distribution,composition,crystalline structure,and chemical bonding *** FS primarily contained inorganic and carbon components(dry bases)and exhibited a"three-peak distribution"of the grain size and regular spheroidal as well as irregular *** irregular particles were mainly adsorbed onto the structure and had a dense distribution and multiple pores and *** carbon constituents were primarily amorphous in structure,with a certain degree of order and active sites.C 1s XPS spectrum indicated the presence of C–C and C–H bonds and numerous aromatic *** inorganic components,constituting 90%of the total sample,were primarily silicon,aluminum,iron,and *** inorganic components contained Si–O-Si,Si–O–Al,Si–O,SO_(4)^(2−),and Fe–O *** 2p XPS spectrum could be deconvoluted into Fe 2p_(1/2) and Fe 2p_(3/2) peaks and satellite peaks,while Fe existed mainly in the form of Fe(III).The findings of this study will be beneficial in resource utilization and formation mechanism of fine slag in future.

Two new mixed-ligated metal phosphonates, M2（pbtcH）（phen）2（H2O）2 [M（Ⅱ）=Co （1）, Ni （2）] （pbtcH5 = 5-phosphonatophenyl-1,2,4-tricarboxylic acid, phen = 1,10-phenanthroline）, have been syn- thesized and characterized. Both show one-dimensional double chain structures, where the M（phen）（H2O） moieties are chelated and bridged by pbtcH4 through the carboxylate and phosphonate oxygen atoms. The chains are connected by hydrogen bonding interactions and π-π stacking, forming a three-dimensional supramolecular structure. The IR and magnetic properties of the two compounds are also investigated.

Melting geodynamics reveals a subduction origin for the Purang ophiolite,Tibet,China

The debate regarding whether the Yarlung-Zangbo ophiolite(YZO)on the south of the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau,formed in a mid-ocean ridge(MOR)or a supra-subduction zone(SSZ)setting has remained *** we present petrological,mineralogical,and geochemical data associated with modeling melting geodynamics of the mantle peridotites from the Purang ophiolite in the western segment of the Yarlung-Zangbo Suture Zone(YZSZ)to explore its tectonic *** Purang lherzolites are characterized by the protogranular texture and have abyssal-peridotite-like mineral compositions,including low Cr^(#)(20-30)and TiO_(2) contents(<0.1wt%)in spinel,high Al_(2)O_(3)(2.9wt%-4.4wt%)and CaO(1.9wt%-3.7wt%)contents in orthopyroxene and LREE-depletion in *** of these lherzolites can be modeled by~11%dynamic melting of the DMM source with a small fraction of melt(~0.5%)entrapped within the source,a similar melting process to typical abyssal *** Purang harzburgites are characterized by the porphyroclastic texture and exhibit highly refractory mineral compositions such as high spinel Cr^(#)(40-68),low orthopyroxene Al_(2)O_(3)(<2.2wt%)and CaO(<1.1wt%)*** in these harzburgites are enriched in Sr(up to 6.0 ppm)and LREE[(Ce)N=0.02-0.4],but depleted in Ti(200 ppm,on average)and HREE[(Yb)N<2].Importantly,the more depleted samples tend to have higher clinopyroxene Sr and LREE *** observations indicate an open-system hydrous melting with a continuous influx of slab fluid at a subduction *** modeled results show that these harzburgites could be formed by 19%-23%hydrous melting with the supply rate of slab fluid at 0.1%-1%.The lower clinopyroxene V/Sc ratios in harzburgites than those in lherzolites suggest a high oxidation stage of the melting system of harzburgites,which is consistent with a hydrous melting environment for these *** is therefore concluded that the Purang ophiolite has experienced a transformat

炎症性肠病(inflammatory bowel disease,IBD)以慢性复发性肠道炎症为特征,包括溃疡性结肠炎(ulcerative colitis,UC)和克罗恩病(Crohn’s disease,CD)。IBD已成为全球性的医疗保健问题。临床上尚缺乏有效治疗药物。本研究聚焦于UC模型,旨在寻找新的治疗策略。前期研究发现,五味子甲素(schisandrin A,SchA)体外具有抗炎作用,并促进法尼醇X受体(farnesoid X receptor,FXR)的转录活性。FXR反向调控NF-κB的转录活性,在调节炎症反应中具有重要作用。因此,本研究主要探讨SchA对UC的保护作用及其通过FXR信号通路调控的机制。在RAW264.7细胞上评价SchA对炎症因子mRNA水平的影响。用双荧光素酶报告基因实验验证SchA与FXR靶向关系。动物实验遵循上海中医药大学动物伦理委员会规定(批准号:PZSHUTCM2304250005)。野生型或FXR敲除的C57BL/6小鼠自由饮用3%右旋葡聚糖硫酸钠(dextran sodium sulfate,DSS)7天诱导小鼠急性UC,并灌胃给药SchA连续7天。实验期间每日监测小鼠体重及粪便情况。采用RT-qPCR方法检测结肠组织炎症因子、FXR靶基因的mRNA水平。结果显示:体外SchA抑制脂多糖(lipopolysaccharide,LPS)诱导的炎症因子mRNA水平的增加。同时,SchA可以增加FXR的转录活性。在野生型小鼠中,SchA能明显改善急性UC小鼠的体重下降、结肠缩短、稀便和便血;SchA显著降低结肠组织中促炎因子基因的表达、增加FXR靶基因的表达。在FXR敲除小鼠中,SchA对小鼠急性UC的缓解作用消失。综上,SchA可通过FXR信号通路降低肠道炎症,缓解DSS诱导的小鼠急性UC,提示五味子木脂素类化合物可能是IBD药物开发的先导化合物。

A Switch Agent for Wireless Sensor Nodes with Dual Interfaces: Implementation and Evaluation

Data generation in wireless sensor networks could be bursty as it is dictated by the presence or absence of events of interest that generate these data. While conventional sensor nodes possessed only one radio interface, next generation sensor nodes are expected to have two （possibly more） radio interfaces, each with different ranges, capacities, and power consumptions. Equipping sensor nodes with dual radios has its own benefits and can be quite useful in handling bursty traffic while at the same time satisfying the application＇s delivery requirements. In this paper, we propose an adaptive interface switch agent that intelligently selects the interface to be used for data transmission at a sensor node based on the data burst length or end-to-end delay while taking into consideration power consumption and throughput. The proposed work generalizes earlier works in this area to enable both the source nodes and intermediate data forwarding nodes to initiate the activation of high power radios so that they can be utilized to a higher degree for converge-cast communication. We have performed extensive simulations with sensor nodes containing both IEEE 802.15.4 and IEEE 802.11 compatible radios. Our simulation results indicate that the switch agent yields throughput, delay, and packet delivery ratio comparable to the higher bandwidth interface alone, without incurring much energy wastage.

Adaptive Power Control for mutual Interference Avoidance in Industrial Internet-of-Things

With the vigorous development of the Internet of Things and 5G technology, such as machine-to-machine and device-todevice, all kinds of data transmission including environmental monitoring and equipment control strengthens the key role of wireless sensor networks in the large-scale wireless communication system. However, especially in the complex industrial wireless applications, the low utilization efficiency of the limited wireless radio resource enhances the coexistence problem between heterogeneous networks. In this paper, from the severe mutual interference point of view, a mathematical model regarding cumulative interferences in the industrial wireless sensor networks is described. Then, from the perspective of mutual interference avoidance, an adaptive power control scheme is proposed in order to handle the normal communication needs on both the primary link and the secondary link. At last, nonlinear programming is taken to solve the corresponding optimization problem. Some typical analyses are given to verify the effectiveness of the proposed scheme on optimizing the tradeoff between the system throughput and energy consumption. Especially, the energy-efficiency of the novel scheme for Industrial Internet of Things is also analysed. Results show that the proposed power control is efficient. The throughput could be enhanced and the energy consumption could be reduced with the guarantee of mutual interference avoidance.

X-Ray Properties of PSR J1811-1925 by Nu STAR

We analyzed the spectral properties and pulse profile of PSR J1811-1925,a pulsar located in the center of composite supernova remnant(SNR)G11.2-0.3,by using high timing resolution archival data from the Nuclear Spectroscopic Telescope Array Mission(NuSTAR).Analysis of archival Chandra data over different regions rules out the SNR shell as the site of the hard X-ray emission while spectral analysis indicates that the NuSTAR photons originate in the pulsar and its *** pulse profile exhibits a broad single peak up to 35 *** jointed spectrum by combining NuSTAR and Chandra can be well fitted by a power-law model with a photon index ofΓ=1.58±*** integrated flux of jointed spectrum over 1-10 keV is 3.36×10^(-12)erg cm^(-2)s^(-1).The spectrum of pulsar having photon indexΓ=1.33±0.06 and a 1-10 keV flux of 0.91×10^(-12)erg cm^(-2)s^(-1).We also performed the phase-resolved spectral analysis by splitting the whole pulse-on phase into five phase *** photon indices of the bins are all around 1.4,indicating that the photon index does not evolve with the phase.
