Primary mucinous carcinoma of the thyroid gland which is more difficult to diagnose than common thyroid cancer is an extremely rare disease.It is a malignant tumor that can secrete mucus.A 45-year-old Chinese man came to seek medical care because he found a lump in his right side.Tomography showed that there was a space-occupying lesion on the right thyroid gland which compressed the tracheal.After the operation of total thyroidectomy and lymph node dissection in the right central area,the pathological examination showed that tumor cells existed,showing a small nest-like and cribriform distribution characteristics.There were broad fibrous tissues,a large amount of mucus around the tumur cell that had no obvious amyloid deposition.The tumor cells were positive for thyroid transcription factor-1 and paired box gene-8,while they were focally positive for thyroglobulin.Considering the histological features and immunohistochemical profile and ruling out mucinous cancers originating from other organs.The patient was diagnosed with primary mucinous carcinoma of the thyroid gland.This patient is still alive at present.Prognosis of primary mucinous carcinoma of the thyroid gland is usually poor.The best way to improve the prognosis of these patients maybe to do surgery of complete tumor+lymph node resection as soon as possible.

Objective:To investigate the prevention and management of perioperative nausea and vomiting and reflux aspiration in painless hysteroscopy patients.Methods:The clinical datum of one patient with reflux and postoperative vomiting and another one with a history of multiple postoperative nausea and vomiting during painless hysteroscopy were retrospectively analyzed.Results:In case 1,despite the occurrence of reflux,no significant aspiration or other serious consequences occurred through positive attraction,ondansetron,dexamethasone,droperidol and other drugs and candy treatment,then nausea and vomiting gradually eased.In case 2,due to the reduction of preoperative dosage of sufentanil,prophylactic application of ondansetron,psychological intervention and postoperative candy,no nausea and vomiting occurred during the painless hysteroscopy.The patient recovered quickly with high satisfaction.Conclusion:Patients with a high risk of nausea and vomiting may be ameliorated by positive psychological and drug intervention.Even if patients have intraoperative reflux and postoperative nausea and vomiting,it can be relieved by psychological and drug treatment,and the occurrence of serious complications such as aspiration can be prevented.

Endogenous viral elements （EVEs） are host-genomic fragments originated from viral genomes. They have been found universally in animal and plant genomes. Here we carried out a systematic screening and analy-sis of EVEs in algal genomes and found that EVEs commonly exist in algal genomes. We classified the EVE fragments into three categories according to the length of EVE fragments. Due to the probability of sequence similarity by chance, we ignored the potential function of medium-length EVE fragments. However, long-length EVE fragments probably had capability to encode protein domains or even entire proteins, and some short-length EVE fragments had high similarity with host＇s siRNA sequences and possibly served functions of small RNAs. Therefore, short and long EVE fragments might provide regulomic and proteomic novelty to the host＇s metabolism and adaptation. We also found several EVE fragments shared by more than 3 algal genomes. By phylogenetic analysis of the shared EVEs and their corresponding species, we found that the integration of viral fragments into host genomes was an ancient event, possibly before the divergence of Chlorophytes and Ochrophytes. Our findings show that there is a frequent genetic flow from viruses to algal genomes. Moreover, study on algal EVEs shed light on the virus-host interaction in large timescale and could also help us understand the balance of marine ecosystems.

Most phaeophytes （brown algae） and rhodophytes （red algae） dwell exclusively in marine habitats and play important roles in marine ecology and biodiversity. Many of these brown and red algae are also important resources for industries such as food, medicine and materials due to their unique metabolisms and me-tabolites. However, many fundamental questions surrounding their origins, early diversification, taxonomy, and special metabolisms remain unsolved because of poor molecular bases in brown and red algal study. As part of the 1 000 Plant Project, the marine macroalgal transcriptomes of 19 Phaeophyceae species and 21 Rhodophyta species from China＇s coast were sequenced, covering a total of 2 phyla, 3 classes, 11 orders, and 19 families. An average of 2 Gb per sample and a total 87.3 Gb of RNA-seq raw data were generated. Approxi-mately 15 000 to 25 000 unigenes for each brown algal sample and 5 000 to 10 000 unigenes for each red algal sample were annotated and analyzed. The annotation results showed obvious differences in gene expres-sion and genome characteristics between red algae and brown algae;these differences could even be seen between multicellular and unicellular red algae. The results elucidate some fundamental questions about the phylogenetic taxonomy within phaeophytes and rhodophytes, and also reveal many novel metabolic pathways. These pathways include algal CO2 fixation and particular carbohydrate metabolisms, and related gene/gene family characteristics and evolution in brown and red algae. These findings build on known algal genetic information and significantly improve our understanding of algal biology, biodiversity, evolution, and potential utilization of these marine algae.

Analysis on Factors Related to Rabies Epidemic in China from 2007-2011

To analyze features of the rabies epidemic in China between 2007 and 2011, identify factors influencing the epidemic and to provide a scientific basis for further control and prevention of rabies, Descriptive epidemiological methods and statistical analysis was used on data collected from the National Disease Reporting Information System between 2007 to 2011 and the National Active Surveillance System between 2007 and 2010. Our analysis shows that while the number of human rabies cases decreased year by year, the number of districts reporting cases did not show significant change. The situations in Guangdong, Guangxi, Guizhou and Hunan provinces clearly improved over the period but they remain provinces with high-incidence, and consequently influence the epidemic situation of surrounding provinces and possibly the whole country. Summer and autumn were high-incidence seasons. Farmers, students and pre-school children represent the high-risk populations, and rates of cases in farmers increased, those for students decreased, and pre-school children remained unchanged. Provinces with active surveillance programs reported a total of 2346 individual cases, of which 88.53% were associated with canines. Postexposure prophylaxis (PEP) of rabies cases was not significantly improved, whereas PEP in post-exposure population was good. In rural regions of China, canine density was reduced somewhat, and the immunization rate increased slightly. Finally we show that while the epidemic decreased 2007 to 2011 in China, cases continued to be diffused in certain regions. Lack of standardization of PEP on rabies cases was the main reason of morbidity. The high density and low immunization of dog in rural areas and the defective situation of PEP are still continuous occurrences in China and remain a cause for concern.

Rainfall and Tillage Impacts on Soil Erosion of Sloping Cropland with Subtropical Monsoon Climate- A Case Study in Hilly Purple Soil area, China

Under global warming, storm events tend to intensify, particularly in monsoon-affected regions.As an important agricultural area in China, the purple soil region in the Sichuan Basin, where it has a prevailing monsoon climate, is threatened by serious soil erosion. Tillage operations alter runoff and soil erosion processes on croplands by changing the physical properties of the soil surface. To clarify the relationship between tillage and soil erosion in the purple soil region, three different tillage practices in this region were investigated at the plot scale over 4 years: bare land with minimum tillage(BL),conventional tillage(CT) and seasonal no-tillage ridges(SNTR) which was initially designed to prevent soil erosion by contoured ridges and no-tillage techniques. The results showed that although there were no significant differences in the surface runoff and soil erosion among the three practices, BL causedrelatively high surface runoff and soil erosion,followed by CT and SNTR. Classification and comparison of the rainfall events based on cluster analysis(CA) verified that the surface runoff was not significantly different between most intensive event and long intensive events but was significantly different between most intensive and short and medium-duration events. Only the rainfall events with the highest rainfall intensity could trigger serious soil erosion, up to 1000 kg ha-1 in the region. Further detailed investigations on the effects of tillage operations on the soil erosion in a subtropical region with a monsoon climate are needed to provide a basis for modeling catchments and designing better management practices.

A VHF band HTS filter based on modified single-spiral resonators for radio astronomy application

A 10-pole quasi-elliptic bandpass filter (BPF) with a relatively wide passband in the very high frequency (VHF) band was designed and fabricated using YBCO thin films deposited on both sides of a LaAlO3 substrate. Single-spiral resonators were modified to generate strong coupling and reduce the parasitic coupling. We analysed the coupling polarities between the modified resonators. Two pairs of attenuation poles were introduced in the filter for sharp cut-off response. The measurements showed that the filter has a centre frequency of 255.8 MHz, fractional bandwidth of about 12.3%, insertion loss of smaller than 0.265 dB, and the return loss in the passband of better than 17.5 dB, in good agreement with computer simulations.

为指导社区生活圈打造绿色出行环境,定量解析社区建成环境对居民小汽车行驶里程(VMT)影响的空间异质性。基于建成环境的5D维度选取人口密度、土地利用多样性及公交站点密度等6个指标刻画建成环境,在《社区生活圈规划技术指南》的基础上,结合步行速度和非直线系数等指标差异化界定社区生活圈尺度,利用POI数据和道路网络等地理空间数据测度建成环境。以保定市居民出行行为调查数据作为实证研究数据来源,构建考虑自变量尺度变异的多尺度地理加权回归模型(MGWR)。研究结果表明:对比最小二乘回归(OLS)模型与传统的地理加权回归(GWR)模型,纳入变量尺度异质性的MGWR模型降低了残差的自相关性,且调整后R2相比于GWR模型与OLS模型分别提高了1.8倍与6.0倍;从标准化系数来看,社区建成环境指标中,土地利用混合度和公交服务水平对VMT影响最大;社区建成环境指标中,路网密度与交叉口密度接近全局尺度,空间异质性较弱,其余建成环境变量均具有较强的空间异质性,需要进行差异化的空间设计;社区建成环境指标局部回归系数的空间分布模式呈现“中心-外围”变化趋势,与城市形态有较强的耦合。

Newly discovered hydrothermal fields along the ultraslow-spreading Southwest Indian Ridge around 63°E

The ultraslow-spreading Southwest Indian Ridge （SWIR） to the east of the Melville fracture zone is characterized by very low melt supply and intensive tectonic activity. Due to its weak thermal budget and extremely slow spreading rate, the easternmost SWIR was considered to be devoid of hydrothermal activity until the discovery of the inactive Mt. lourdanne hydrothermal field （27°51＇S, 63°56＇E） in 1998. During the COMRA DYl15-20 cruise in 2009, two additional hydrothermal fields （i.e., the Tiancheng （27°51＇S, 63°55＇E） and Tianzuo （27°57＇S, 63°32＇E） fields） were discovered. Further detailed investigations of these two hydrothermal sites were conducted by Chinese manned submersible liaolong in 2014-2015. The Tiancheng filed can he characterized as a low- temperature （up to 13.2℃） diffuse flow hydrothermal field, and is hosted by fractured basalts with hydrothermal fauna widespread on the seafloor. The Tianzuo hydrothermal field is an inactive sulfide field, which is hosted by ultramafic rocks and controlled by detachment fault. The discovery of the three hydrothermal fields around Segment #11 which receives more melt than the regional average, provided evidence for local enhanced magmatism providing heat source to drive hydrothermal circulation. We further imply that hydrothermal activity and sulfide deposits may be rather promising along the easternmost SWIR.
