Does Globalization, Tourism, Foreign Direct Investment, and Natural Resources Influencing Ecological Footprint?

The environmental problem has become a worldwide issue that must be frequently ***, this study investigates the relation of tourism, natural resources, globalization, and foreign direct investment on the ecological footprint of the USA, the UK, Pakistan, China, and India by using annual data from 1995 to 2020. The study applied Zivot and Andrews(1992) test to demonstrate the stationarity properties of the series, and an autoregressive distributed lag(ARDL)approach was employed to estimate the long-run and short-run dynamics. The long-run findings disclose that tourism has a significantly positive effect on China and Pakistan, but a significantly negative impact on India. The outcomes further suggest that foreign direct investment increases environmental degradation in India and China in both long and short periods, but contributes to improving the UK's ecosystem. Besides, globalization in China tends to save its *** resources in the long run also harm the ecosystems of Pakistan, China, and the USA. The error correction term is negatively significant for all countries. The reliability of the model is investigated through diagnostic tests. The selected model is stable as the critical value of CUSUM and CUSUMSQ lie within the 5% significance level.

This study aimed to investigate the protective effects of fleshes from two Actinidia chinensis(ACF), pericarps from two A. chinensis(ACP), and fleshes with pericarps from two A. chinensis(ACFP)on high fructose(HF)-instigated dyslipidemia, hepatic steatosis, oxidative stress, insulin resistance, and fatty acid metabolism disorders in rats. In general, the above abnormalities were improved after 10 weeks intervention of ACF, ACP, and ACFP. Especially, ACFP considerably ameliorated HF-induced abnormal changes in body weight gain, serum TC, TG, LDL-C and HDL-C levels, as well as serum and hepatic SFAs, MUFAs and PUFAs contents. ACFP also alleviated HF-induced hyperglycemia and hyperinsulinemia, stabilized HF-caused increase in hepatic MDA and serum ALT, AST levels, and restored HF-declined hepatic T-SOD and GSH-Px activities. Besides, histopathology of the liver further endorsed the protective effects of ACFP on hepatocellular injury. Moreover, ACFP increased HF-dropped acetic, propionic and butyric acid levels. Overall, ACFP employs more efficacious protective effects against HF-induced metabolic disorders and liver damage than ACF and ACP. This study delivers a scientific foundation for developing kiwifruit(counting peel)-based dietary supplements for those with glucolipid-metabolic disorders and liver damage.

Studies on the Components of Essential Oil of <i>Zanthoxylum Armatum</i>by Gc-Ms

The essential oil of Zanthoxylum armatum was extracted through hydro distillation and analyzed by GC-MS. Hydrocarbon fraction (17.35%) of the oil was much lower and oxygenated compounds comprised fairly high portion of essential oil (39.21%). Percentages of monoterpenes and sesquiterpenes found were 47.33% and 10.83% respectively. Oxygenated monoterpenes comprised major profile of chromatogram of essential oil of Zanthoxylum armatum i.e. 37.23% where as monoterpene hydrocarbons were 10.09%. Alcoholic percentage was much higher i.e. 26.76% and 15-hexadecanoloide (6.58%) the only cyclic ester was found in relatively high percentage.

[目的]柑橘小RNA不仅是黄龙病抗性的调控因子,也可以开发成为黄龙病早期诊断的分子标记。本研究旨在探明小RNA在柑橘黄龙病与寄主互作中的作用。[方法]分别设计并合成了4个小RNA的反转录茎环引物以及相应的表达检测引物;利用实时荧光定量PCR对引物的特异性和扩增效率进行了测试;进一步检测分析了4个小RNA对靶标基因表达的调控情况。[结果]利用本研究设计的引物在健康样品和黄龙病发病样品中均可特异性检测到4个小RNA。相对定量标准曲线斜率表明,4个小RNA引物的扩增效率相近。表达量的相对定量分析表明:4个小RNA的表达与相应靶标基因的表达均呈负相关性; miR-753E-3p、miR-451b、miR2633和miR838-3p在发病样品中的表达量分别为健康对照样品中的4.69、0.44、0.36和3.08倍,而其靶标Cs6g21280、Cs6g05770、Cs2g08190和Cs8g02530在发病样品中的表达量分别为对照的0.14、8.95、3.06和0.29倍。进一步分析表明:这些小RNA的靶标基因在拟南芥中均存在同源基因:Cs6g21280在拟南芥中的同源基因为ATSMC4,与抑制开花和抑制逆境相关的DNA修复有关; Cs6g05770在拟南芥中的同源基因为BAK1,与病原特征分子诱导的抗病反应有关; Cs2g08190在拟南芥中的同源基因为CIPK23,与促进钾离子吸收、扩大叶片的气孔开度有关;Cs8g02530在拟南芥中的同源基因为PIP2,是一个水通道蛋白,可调节植物耐涝耐旱性。[结论]本研究揭示了黄龙病菌与柑橘在小RNA水平上发生的侵染与防卫的对抗作用,为黄龙病病症形成以及寄主免疫相关分子机制的研究提供了新的线索。

The present study was conducted in 4 × 4 half diallel cross fashion using the genotypes named as NL-2002, NL-2006, Punjab Masoor-2009 and Markaz-2009 for the evaluation of gene action in the inheritance of economic traits of lentil by following the Griffing (1956) Method of analysis. Minirap 13.1 Copyright© 2000, Minitab inc. Method II, Model I was used for the analysis and gene action was computed by variance component analysis using Mixed Model with GLM (general linear model) procedure. The F1 direct crosses along with the parental genotypes were then evaluated by framing the experiment in RCBD in 3 replications. The data were recorded for the characters which are under the study are, plant height (cm), number of primary branches, number of secondary branches, number of pods per plant, number of seed per pod, seed yield per plant, biomass (gram), 100 seeds weight (gram), harvest index (%), yield per plant. The simple ANOVA for all the characters revealed that difference among genotypes was highly significant. As significant differences were present between the genotypes, it permitted subsequent analysis of the data. The Combining Ability (CA) results showed that value of variance for GCA (General Combining Ability) was significantly higher than that of those of the values of variance of SCA (Specific Combining Ability). Hence current results clearly depicted the role of additive type of gene action governing the characters under study.

This study was planned to assess genetic variation in Jatropha curcas as affected by colchichine treatments. During the experiment, seeds of Jatropha curcas were collected from mature and healthy Jatropha plants and were soaked in different concentrations of colchicines. The second treatment was that of time of soaking (seeds were soaked in different concentrations for different time durations). The results clearly revealed that by increasing the concentration of colchicine treatment, parameters like stomatal density, and size of the guard cells were reduced.
