Background: Coronavirus is rapidly transmitted and highly infectious, and it is also associated with high morbidity and mortality but no drugs have been recognised as being effective;therefore, it is necessary to protect against serious illnesses with an intrinsic protection mechanism. In addition, Vitamin D enhances the intrinsic protection mechanism. Purpose: This study aims to systematically review and conduct a meta-analysis to determine if vitamin D deficiency is associated with the development of severe COVID-19 illness, providing crucial insights into the potential impact of vitamin D on disease outcomes. Methods: This study is conducted through systematic reviews and meta-analysis while following well-designed research questions. Literature searches are performed according to PRISMA guidelines with inclusion and exclusion criteria through the electronic database PubMed, CINAHL and Google Scholar. All data for meta-analysis were performed using RevMan 5.4. The software program was used for blending the statistical data and deriving the cumulative result of the intervention on concluding outcomes of interest. To analyze dichotomous data, the Mantel-Haenszel method was performed, and an odds ratio was conducted for outcome evaluation with 95% confidence interval. Results: The meta-analysis showed that there is statistically significant (P Conclusion: This study indicated that Vitamin D deficiency is associated with the development of COVID-19 related serious illnesses. Also, it is highly recommended to do more randomised control trials for the establishment of this topic strongly.

AIM: To explore the prevalence and risk factors for nonalcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH) in nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) patients. METHODS: We have included 493 patients with sonographic evidence of a fatty change, and 177 of these individuals were evaluated and confirmed after liver biopsy. The exclusion criteria consisted of significant alcohol abuse (< 20 g daily), evidence of hepatitis B and C, evidence of drug-induced fatty liver disease and other specific liver diseases such as hemochromatosis, Wilson’s disease or autoimmune liver disease. The patients were assessed for metabolic syndrome, and biochemical, anthropometric and histopathological evaluations were carried out. The degree of disease activity in the NAFLD patients was evaluated using the NAFLD Activity Score. The data were analyzed by SPSS, version 16.0. RESULTS: Females predominated among the study participants (250, 57.0%), and the mean age was 40.8 ± 10.2 years. The numbers of overweight, obeseⅠ and obese Ⅱ patients were 58 (13.2%), 237 (53.9%) and 93 (21.2%), respectively. However, there were 422 (96.2%) centrally obese patients. NASH was absent in 10 (5.6%) cases, borderline in 92 (52.6%) cases and present in 75 (42.4%) cases. The presence of diabetes could significantly (P = 0.001) differentiate NASH from simple steatosis. The following parameters did not influence the development of NASH: age, sex, basal metabolic index, waist circumference, serum high-density lipoprotein, triglyceride, insulin resistance index, hypertension and metabolic syndrome. The serum gammaglutamyl transpeptidase (GGT) level was significantly higher (P = 0.05, 51.7 ± 32.8 and 40.4 ± 22.6 U/L) in the NASH patients, with a sensitivity of 45% and a specificity of only 68%. The serum alanine aminotransferase and aspartate aminotransferase levels were not able to predict NASH. CONCLUSION: Females were the predominant sufferers of NAFLD in Bangladesh. Objective:To investigate the antioxidant,antimicrobial,cytotoxic and thrombolytic property of the fruits and leaves of Spondias dulcis（***）.Methods:Methanolic extracts of fruits and leaves of *** were partitioned with chloroform and *** antioxidant potential of the crude extract and partitioned fractions were evaluated in terms of total phenolic content,total flavonoid content,DPPH radical scavenging potential,reducing potential and total antioxidant capacity by specific standard *** antimicrobial activity was evaluated using disc diffusion *** cytotoxicity was evaluated by using brine shrimp lethality bioassay and compared with vincristine *** thrombolytic activity was compared with ***:The methanolic fruit extract exhibited the highest phenolic content,flavonoid content and antioxidant capacity,among the other extracts,with the highest DPPH radical scavenging activity at a concentration of 10μg/mL(IC50:1.91μg/mL)and maximum reducing power at a concentration of 100μg/ml.(EC50:3.58μg/mL).Though all extract showed moderate antimicrobial activity against the bacterial strains,weak or no activity against *** range of LC50value of all extracts was 1.335-14.057μg/mL which was far lower than the cut off index for *** extracts exhibited statistically significant（P<0.001）thrombolytic ***:Our study suggested that *** exhibits antimicrobial activities against a wide variety of strains while it possesses significant antioxidant,cytotoxic and thrombolytic aclivily.

Short-Term Financial Time Series Forecasting Integrating Principal Component Analysis and Independent Component Analysis with Support Vector Regression

Financial time series forecasting could be beneficial for individual as well as institutional investors. But, the high noise and complexity residing in the financial data make this job extremely challenging. Over the years, many researchers have used support vector regression (SVR) quite successfully to conquer this challenge. In this paper, an SVR based forecasting model is proposed which first uses the principal component analysis (PCA) to extract the low-dimensional and efficient feature information, and then uses the independent component analysis (ICA) to preprocess the extracted features to nullify the influence of noise in the features. Experiments were carried out based on 16 years’ historical data of three prominent stocks from three different sectors listed in Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE), Bangladesh. The predictions were made for 1 to 4 days in advance targeting the short term prediction. For comparison, the integration of PCA with SVR (PCA-SVR), ICA with SVR (ICA-SVR) and single SVR approaches were applied to evaluate the prediction accuracy of the proposed approach. Experimental results show that the proposed model (PCA-ICA-SVR) outperforms the PCA-SVR, ICA-SVR and single SVR methods.

Bus systems provide a versatile form of public transportation with the flexibility to serve a variety of access needs throughout an urban area. Efficient operation of the public transport is a key factor for the improvement of living condition in Dhaka city. Transport service performance should be assessed from the passengers’ perspectives to evaluate these perceptions in transportation planning. The exploration of service quality of bus is essential in order to provide a better service in future. The objective of this research is to access overall customer satisfaction in public bus transport of Dhaka city. A questionnaire survey was conducted in five locations in Dhaka city. Bus users’ satisfaction was analyzed by discrete choice logit model towards quality, reliability, safety and security and service provided by buses functioning in Dhaka city. The result indicated that more than half of the respondents believed that the present condition of bus service is not satisfactory. In case of the quality of buses, people think that the body and sitting arrangement of the buses are uncomfortable. Regarding the safety and security condition, main three reasons of dissatisfaction of passengers’ are unsafe driving practices, poor boarding and alighting facilities and lack of law enforcing agencies surveillance. Reasons which make the service unsatisfactory include irregular service provided by buses, regular overcrowding, lack of good standard buses and lack of cleanliness. In spite of these negative views, users’ possessed a positive attitude for buses which is the low travel cost.

Spatially homogeneous and anisotropic Bianchi type-I cosmological model containing perfect fluid with quadratic equation of state has been diagnosed in general theory of relativity. To obtain a deterministic solution, we have used a relation between metric potentials. The exact solution of Einstein’s field equations thus obtained represents an expanding and decelerating universe. The physical and kinematical parameters of the model have also been analyzed with certain constrained between the parameters of the quadratic equation of state.

The crude case fatality rate(CFR),because of the calculation method,is the most accurate when the pandemic is over since there is a possibility of the delay between disease onset and *** crude CFR measures can better explain the pandemic situation by improving the CFR ***,no study has thoroughly investigated the COVID-19 adjusted CFR of the South Asian Association For Regional Cooperation(SAARC)*** study estimated both survival interval and underreporting adjusted CFR of COVID-19 for these ***,we assessed the crude CFR between genders and across age groups and observed the CFR changes due to the imposition of fees on COVID-19 tests in *** the daily records up to October 9,we implemented a statistical method to remove the delay between disease onset and outcome bias,and due to asymptomatic or mild symptomatic cases,reporting rates lower than 50%(95%CI:10%–50%)bias in crude *** found that Afghanistan had the highest CFR,followed by Pakistan,India,Bangladesh,Nepal,Maldives,and Sri *** estimated crude CFR varied from 3.708%to 0.290%,survival interval adjusted CFR varied from 3.767%to 0.296%and further underreporting adjusted CFR varied from 1.096%to 0.083%.Furthermore,the crude CFRs for men were significantly higher than that of women in Afghanistan(4.034%vs.2.992%)and Bangladesh(1.739%vs.1.337%)whereas the opposite was observed in Maldives(0.284%vs.0.390%),Nepal(0.006%vs.0.007%),and Pakistan(2.057%vs.2.080%).Besides,older age groups had higher risks of ***,crude CFR increased from 1.261%to 1.572%after imposing the COVID-19 test fees in ***,the authorities of countries with higher CFR should be looking for strategic counsel from the countries with lower CFR to equip themselves with the necessary knowledge to combat the ***,caution is needed to report the CFR.

Objective:To estimate the antidepressant,anxiolytic and antinociceptive activities of ethanol extract of Steudnera colocasiifolia ***(***)***:Swiss albino mice treated with 1%Tween solution,standard drugs and ethanol extract of ***,respectively,were subjected to the neurological and antinociceptive *** tail suspension test and forced swimming test were used for testing antidepressant activity,where the parameter is the measurement of immobility *** activity was evaluated by hole board ***-nociceptive potential of the extract was also screened for centrally acting analgesic activity by using formalin induced licking response model and acetic acid induced writhing test was used for testing peripheral analgesic ***:Ethanol extract of *** significantly decreased the period of immobility in both tested models(tail suspension and forced swimming models)of antidepressant *** the hole board model,there was a dose dependant(at 100 and 200 mg/kg)and a significant increase in the number of head dipping by comparing with control(1%Tween solution)(P<0.05 and P<0.001).In formalin induced licking model,a significant inhibition of pain compared to standard diclofenac sodium was observed(P<0.05 and P<0.001).In acetic acid induced test,there was a significant reduction of writhing response and pain in mice treated with leaves extract of *** at 200 mg/kg body weight(P<0.05 and P<0.001).Conclusions:The results proofed the prospective antidepressant,anxiolytic and antinociceptive activities of ethanol extract of *** leaves.
