Background: Endoscopic procedures are frequently performed to rule out any disease process which eventuates with either a positive or negative outcome. Association of patient demographics, clinical features with endoscopic outcomes are of paramount importance for better understanding and practice of endoscopy. Objectives: This study aimed to determine the frequency of positive endoscopic findings in patients with gastrointestinal symptoms compared to those with negative findings. As a secondary objective, the association between relevant demographics, symptoms, laboratory investigations and procedural outcomes of the participants and positive endoscopic findings were also assessed. Methods: A retrospective analysis of all the patients who underwent esophagogastroduodenoscopy from January 2017 to December 2017 was conducted. A total of 1066 endoscopy records were retrieved and using a convenience sampling technique, relevant data were manually entered to the questionnaires. Records with incomplete or inconsistent data were disregarded as per the exclusion criteria, resulting in 1011 patient records ultimately utilized for the study. All data were entered and analyzed using IBM SPSS 23.0. Results: The study comprised a total of 1011 patients where 52.2% were females and 47.8% males while the mean age of patients was 42.16 ± 15.45. Positive endoscopic findings were observed in 88.1%, where the most common finding was gastritis (49.1%). Approximately 14.5% had positive investigation findings for HBsAg and 23.1% were seropositive for anti-HCV antibody. P-values statistically significant were for age (p = 0.044), hematemesis (p = 0.002), betel quid addiction (p = 0.044), anti-HCV antibody (p = 0.043), HCV-RNA (p = 0.041) and “H. pylori” antigen (p = 0.032). Conclusion: Both genders were almost equally included where most patients presented between the 3rd and 5th decades of life. A high incidence of gastritis was noted. In the field of gastroenterology,breath tests(BTs) are used intermittently as diagnostic tools that allow indirect,non-invasive and relatively less cumbersome evaluation of several disorders by simply quantifying the appearance in exhaled breath of a metabolite of a specific substrate *** aim of this review is to have an insight into the principles,methods of analysis and performance parameters of various hydrogen,methane and carbon BTs which are available for diagnosing gastrointestinal disorders such as Helicobacter pylori infection,small intestinal bacterial overgrowth,and carbohydrate *** of gastric emptying is routinely performed by scintigraphy which is however,difficult to perform and not suitable for children and pregnant women,this review has abridged the 13C-octanoic acid test in comparison to scintigraphy and has emphasized on its working protocol and challenges.A new development such as electronic nose test is also *** we have also explored the limitations and constraints restraining the wide use of these *** conclude that breath testing has an enormous potential to be used as a diagnostic *** addition it offers distinct advantages over the traditional invasive methods commonly employed.

针对目前在工科学生中普遍存在的解决复杂工程问题能力不足这一突出问题,提出一种新的课程教学模式。该模式以解决复杂工程问题为目标设计课程教学与实践活动内容,对课程教学过程、方法以及课程考核评价方法等进行全面改进,以期通过复杂工程问题实现对不同课程的知识进行有效集成的目标。按照这一思路,以工业工程专业的"单元制造理论与方法"课程为例进行了实际应用,研究结果表明,这种教学模式能够有效地促进学生对本专业其他所学课程知识的掌握和综合应用,提高了学生对复杂工程问题进行分析和解决的能力。

Along with the running COVID-19 pandemic by the severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2,the Chikungunya virus is already known as the causative agent of re-emerging Chikungunya fever in many countries after several years of latency;and it’s certainly one of the most important clinical issues possibly due to the lack of appropriate ***,continuous study and monitoring of this disease outbreak demand attention by the relevant health *** review has been written in the light of the recently available reports on the Chikungunya virus *** genomic structure and its impact on the viral epidemiology,the possible protective immunity,and the infection mitigation strategies have been ***’s already well known that the Chikungunya virus can start infection after getting entrance into the blood circulation through the mosquito bites followed by the dissemination into the major organs like liver,brain,eye,joints and lymph nodes in order to inaugurate the ***,the occurrence of death is very rare but the extreme fatality and morbidity may occur if the patient has other underlying disease *** molecular aspects of the virus,the site-specific damages caused by the viral infection,and finally,the public awareness of such viral infection as discussed in the current review would help to maintain the public health sustainability especially in the developing countries whereby the knowledge on the required hygiene is poor.

Objective:To explore the exact role of histamine receptors in respiratory ***: The cohort comprised of six groups(group I control and groupⅡ—Ⅳtreated) containing five rabbits in each ***-group received vehicle(sterile distilled water) and treated groups received subcutaneous histamine(100μg/kg,b.i.d.),and H1R-agonist(HTMT),H2R-agonist (amthamine),H3R-agonist(R-(-)-α-methylhistamine) and H4R-agonist(clobenpropit) each in a dose of 10μg/kg,*** 30 subsequent *** completion of treatment,animals were euthanized and perfused with 10% buffered *** tissue blocks of trachea and lungs were processed for paraffin *** were recorded in sample photomicrographs taken from 10μm *** and eosin stained ***:It was observed that trachea and bronchi from histamine,H1R and H4R groups had only patches of hyperplastic and hypertrophied epithelium and in general,cells in the affected region were taller heaped up. The bronchiolar epithelia from all treated groups showed hypertrophy and hyperplasia throughout with most of the cells having rounded profile and appeared to bud out from the basal cells. Conclusions:It is concluded that histamine receptors on induction via its specific agonist can induce hypertrophy,hyperplasia of respiratory tract epithelia suggesting its role akin to growth stimulating factor and warranting further long-term study.
