In this paper,we have proposed a nonlinear mathematical model of different classes of individuals for coronavirus(COVID-19).The model incorporates the effect of transmission and treatment on the occurrence of new infections.For the model,the basic reproduction number(R_(0))has been computed.Corresponding to the threshold quantity(R_(0)),the stability of endemic and disease-free equilibrium(DFE)points are determined.For R_(0)>1,if the endemic equilibrium point exists,then it is locally asymptotically stable,whereas the DFE point is globally asymptotically stable for R_(0)<1 which implies the eradication of the disease.The effects of various parameters on the spread of COVID-19 are discussed in the segment of sensitivity analysis.The model is numerically simulated to understand the effect of reproduction number on the transmission dynamics of the disease COVID-19.From the numerical simulations,it is concluded that if the reproduction number for the coronavirus disease is reduced below unity by decreasing the transmission rate and detecting more number of infectives,then the epidemic can be eradicated from the population.

M5 model tree,random forest regression(RF)and neural network(NN)based modelling approaches were used to predict oblique load carrying capacity of batter pile groups using 247 laboratory experiments with smooth and rough pile groups.Pile length(L),angle of oblique load(a),sand density(ρ),number of batter piles(B),and number of vertical piles(V)as input and oblique load(Q)as output was used.Results suggest improved performance by RF regression for both pile groups.M5 model tree provides simple linear relation which can be used for the prediction of oblique load for field data also.Model developed using RF regression approach with smooth pile group data was found to be in good agreement for rough piles data.NN based approach was found performing equally well with both smooth and rough piles.Sensitivity analysis using all three modelling approaches suggest angle of oblique load(a)and number of batter pile(B)affect the oblique load capacity for both smooth and rough pile groups.

Aim of Study: Leptospirosis is a bacterial zoonotic disease transmitted through contact with animals that are harbouring leptospira. Knowledge of prevalent leptospira in a particular animal of a particular geographical area is essential to understand the epizootiology of disease, to understand the linkage between circulating serovars in animals and in humans, and to apply appropriate control measures, etc. Material and Methods: Animal samples from different districts of the south Gujarat region received in the Microbiology department during the year of 2020 for the Microscopic agglutination test (MAT) of leptospirosis were included in the study. Results of MAT which was already performed using 12 different serovars were analysed to prevent serovars in a particular animal. Quantitative data were analysed using frequency and percentage. Result: Out of 1406 animal samples, 151 (11 percent) were positive from animals like cows, buffalos, bullocks and goats. More prevalent serovars in cows were L. ictrohemorrahiae (22%), L. hardjo (19%), L. patoc (17%) and L. pyrogen (16%). In buffalo, L. patoc (58%) and L. hardjo (27%) were found. L. hardjo (50%) in bullock and L. automonalis (50%), L. australis (22%) and L. patoc (14%) in goat were found as prevent serovars. Conclusion: Different prevent serovars has been observed in different animals from the different district south Gujarat region which will be helpful to trace the source of infection in human, to apply control measures, to know the epizootiology of disease, for developing strategies in the future during vaccine development with emphasizing more on the prevalent serovars.

Coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19)has posed a serious threat to global public health with its rapid spread,high fatality,and severe burden on health care providers all over the world.Although COVID-19 has been established as a respiratory tract infection,it can manifest with gastrointestinal symptoms as a consequence of direct infection by the virus or due to inflammation-mediated cytotoxicity.It has been observed that COVID-19 patients presenting with gastrointestinal symptoms tend to progress to a severe form of disease with increased morbidity and mortality,thus indicating the need for timely management.COVID-19 manifests with a wide spectrum of radiologic findings on gastrointestinal tract imaging,encompassing bowel abnormalities,hepato-biliary and pancreatic involvement,vascular occlusion,and solid organ infarction.Early recognition of these imaging features can facilitate timely treatment of COVID-19 associated gastrointestinal tract complications and may prompt the diagnosis of COVID-19 in patients with atypical disease manifestations.The aim of this article is to provide an overview of the various gastrointestinal imaging manifestations that can be encountered in patients with COVID-19,with an emphasis on early diagnosis of the disease as well as treatment related complications.

Comparing the Effectiveness of Motor Control Exercises versus Mckenzie Exercises for Work Related Back Pain

Background: Work related low back pain has been identified as a one of the most costly disorders among the worldwide working population. This condition was highly prevalent that approximately 85% patients having back pain were brought on by prolonged sitting. With the rapid development of modern technology, sitting has now become the most common posture in today’s work- place. Idea of using motor control learning approach provides the optimal control and coordination of the spine. The McKenzie evaluation was received using repeated movements and sustained positions. Therefore high quality randomized clinical trial was required to compare the effectiveness of these treatments for work related low back pain. Objectives: To compare the effectiveness of motor control exercises and McKenzie exercises in reducing pain and disability in work related low back pain. Method: The study included 40 subjects with work related low back pain due to prolonged sitting. They were randomly allocated into two groups (Group A and Group B). Group A was treated with motor control exercises and group B was treated with McKenzie exercises for 4 weeks. Results: Both the groups have shown statically significant improvement in vas with p < 0.0001 and ODI with p < 0.0001. When the comparison was done after the 4 weeks, the percentage of improvement in group A was much higher than Group B. Conclusion: The study concluded that motor control exercises have shown statically and clinically significant improvement in reducing pain and disability when compared to McKenzie exercises among work related low back pain subjects.

随着世界范围内老龄化社会问题的日益严重,以及一些有运动障碍的特殊群体的扩大,致使跌倒成为了一个严重的社会问题。人体动态稳定性理论是防跌倒研究的理论基础,目前已经取得了有价值的进展。人体动态稳定性理论不同于静态稳定性理论,后者给出的是人体质心位置与支撑面之间的相对位置关系,而前者增加了人体质心速度的因素,给出的是人体质心位置—速度状态与动态稳定区域之间的关系,可利用稳度来判定人体所处的稳定状态,甚至定量评价人体的动态稳定程度。影响跌倒的主要因素有二:稳度为负和支撑不力。在防跌倒的研究中进行适应性练习可显著地提高滑前稳度和滑后稳度,分别体现了前馈控制和反馈控制对人体动态稳定性的神经生理影响。

目的:探讨行超乳手术患者前房参数的变化及影响眼压变化的因素。方法:本文对82例105眼行白内障手术的非青光眼患者临床资料进行了纵向分析。研究术后3wk内前房参数、白内障分级、人口统计学资料和眼压变化之间的关系。并评估眼压-前房深度(PD)比率与此期间眼压变化之间的关系。结果:纳入的82例患者平均年龄为60. 1±7. 8岁。术前平均IOP为15. 06±3. 36 mmH g;术后1d增加到15. 75±4. 21mmH g (P=0. 20)。在多因素模型中,与术前值比较,术后21±5d平均IOP变化为-1. 715 mmH g(95%CI:-2. 795,-0. 636)。前房深度(ACD)、眼轴长度、年龄、性别和白内障分级与眼压变化无显著相关。PD比率每增加一个单位,平均眼压就增加1. 289 mmH g (95%CI:0. 906,1. 671)。对术前PD值进行校正后,ACD、眼轴长度、颞侧房角与平均IOP无显著相关性。结论:PD比值是影响术后3wk眼压变化的单一重要因素。

目的:以不同年龄段分组评估前角膜散光(ACA)和后角膜散光(PCA)。同时分析各年龄段ACA、PCA之间散光程度、散光轴的相关性。方法:横断面研究,包括381眼。将临床测得的散光数值转换为向量记法,以分析ACA和PCA。在整体人群和四个不同年龄段(5~19,20~39,40~59,和≥60)中评估ACA和PCA之间散光程度、散光轴的关系。使用随机效应线性回归模型评估ACA、PCA散光程度之间的关系。结果:在5~9岁儿童中,ACA平均散光度最高为3.59D,PCA为0.50D。总体上来说,ACA在1~10.0D,PCA在0~3.5D。在较年轻的分组中(5~19岁),ACA和PCA显著相关(r=0.85,P<0.001)。在60岁以上组中,ACA每增加1D,PCA增加0.04D(95%CI:0.005,0.07;P=0.03),增加程度相比其余组最少。结论:在60岁以上人群中,相比仅仅依靠经验公式,通过ACA数据计算IOL度数,更为谨慎的方法是同时测定后角膜散光度和散光轴。
