Li–air batteries are a promising type of energy storage technology because of the ultra-high theoretical specific energy.Great advances are made in recent years,including the illustration of reaction mechanisms,development of effective catalyst materials,and design of battery structures accelerating species transport.However,the application still suffers from low rate capability,poor round-trip efficiency,and unsatisfactory cycling life.Herein,we mainly focus on the species transport issues of non-aqueous Li–air batteries,including Li^(+) across the solid surfaces and the electrolyte,O_(2)solubility and diffusivity,distribution of intermediates and products,and side reactions by other components from the air.Besides,considerable emphasis is paid to expound the approaches for enhancing species transport and accelerating reactions,among which the realization of well-designed electrode structures and flowing electrolytes is of great significance for the rapid migration of O_(2)and Li^(+)and mitigating the negative effects by solid insoluble Li_(2)O_(2).Moreover,optimizing reaction interfaces and operating conditions is an attractive alternative to promote reaction rates.This work aims to identify the mechanism of transport issues and corresponding challenges and perspectives,guiding the structure design and material selection to achieve high-performance Li–air batteries.

Zinc(Zn) is an essential trace mineral that is required for plant growth and development. A number of protein transporters, which are involved in Zn uptake, translocation and distribution, are finely regulated to maintain Zn homeostasis in plant. In this study, we functionally characterized an ATP-binding cassette(ABC) transporter gene, OsPDR7, which is involved in Zn homeostasis. Os PDR7 encodes a plasma membrane-localized protein that is expressed mainly in the exodermis and xylem in the rice root.ospdr7 mutants resulted in higher Zn accumulation compared with the wild type. Heterogeneous expression of OsPDR7 in a yeast mutant rescued the Zn-deficiency phenotype, implying transport activity of OsPDR7 to Zn in yeast. However, no ZIP genes except for OsZIP9 showed change in expression profile in the ospdr7 mutants, which suggested that OsPDR7 maintains cellular Zn homeostasis through regulating Os ZIP9 expression. RNA-Seq analysis further revealed a set of differentially expressed genes between the wild type and ospdr7 mutants that allowed us to propose a possible OsPDR7-associated signaling network involving transporters, hormone responsive genes, and transcription factors. Our results revealed a novel transporter involved in the regulation of Zn homeostasis and will pave the way toward a better understanding of the fine-tuning of gene expression in the network of transporter genes.

Software safety requirements are crucial for safety assurance of safety-critical software systems. A novel accident causality model, Systems-theoretic accident modeling and processes(STAMP), has been proposed to overcome the limitations of traditional safety techniques in software safety requirements elicitation.However,the STAMP-based method is ad-hoc with no rigorous procedure to elicit software safety requirements effectively.Furthermore, the time-related safety requirements, which are important to software safety, have been paid little attention in STAMP-based method. With the purpose of overcoming these limitations, this paper strives to find a systematic approach to elicit software safety requirements with STAMP, especially the time-related safety requirements. Firstly, a new process model of STAMP is proposed to model all the system varilables and the ralationship of them in control processes. Then based on the process model, an approach HCAT-SSRA is proposed to elicit the software safety requirements by building Hazardous control action tree(HCAT) for each control action in system control processes. Additionally,several rules are proposed to guide time-related software safety requirements analysis. Finally, a case study is given to illustrate the availability and feasibility of the proposed method.

Activated carbon derived from solid hazardous waste scrap tires was evaluated as a potential adsorbent for cationic dye removal. The adsorption process with respect to operating parameters was investigated to evaluate the adsorption characteristics of the activated pyrolytic tire char （APTC） for Rhodamine B （RhB）. Systematic research including equilibrium, kinetics and thermodynamic studies was performed. The results showed that APTC was a potential adsorbent for RhB with a higher adsorption capacity than most adsorbents. Solution pH and temperature exert significant influence while ionic strength showed little effect on the adsorption process. The adsorption equilibrium data obey Langmuir isotherm and the kinetic data were well described by the pseudo second-order kinetic model. The adsorption process followed intra-particle diffusion model with more than one process affecting the adsorption process. Thermodynamic study confirmed that the adsorption was a physisorption process with spontaneous, endothermic and random characteristics.

The correlation between the microstructure and soft magnetic properties under the direct current(DC)mode of dual-phase FeCoNi(CuAl)_(0.8)RE_(0.05)(RE=Nd,Y)high-entropy alloys(HEAs)was investigated.Xray diffraction(XRD)and electron backscattered diffraction(EBSD)results show that all samples consist of face-centered cubic(FCC)and body-centered cubic(BCC)phases.In comparison to the volume fraction of BCC phase of the RE-free HEA(25.3%),Nd and Y additions dramatically increase it to 42.0%and 43.3%,which leads to an increase of the saturation magnetization.RE addition reduces the average grain size from 7.26 wm of the RE-free HEA to 5.42μm of RE=Nd HEA and 4.88μm of RE=Y HEA.Stripe magnetic domain structure is observed in both FCC and BCC phases in the RE-free and RE-containing HEAs.The additives of Nd and Y both decrease the stripe pattern width in FCC and BCC phases.The refined structure and finely spaced stripe domain by RE addition can decrease the remanence.Compared with the RE-free HEA,RE addition can effectively enhance the DC soft magnetic property by decreasing the remanence,the coercivity,and the hysteresis loss.

Impact–sliding caused by random vibrations between tubes and supports can affect the operation of heat exchangers.In addition,a corrosive environment can cause damage,accelerating the synergism of corrosion and wear.Therefore,the focus of this work was the impact–sliding fretting tribocorrosion behavior of 316L heat exchanger tubes at different halide concentrations.A device system incorporating the in situ electrochemical measurements of impact–sliding fretting corrosion wear was constructed,and experiments on 316L heat exchanger tubes in sodium chloride(NaCl)solution with different concentrations(0.0,0.1,0.5,1.0,3.5,and 5.0 wt%)were carried out.The synergism between wear and corrosion was also calculated and analyzed.The wear and damage mechanisms were elucidated by correlating the corrosion–wear synergism,morphologies,and material loss rates.The results indicated that the stable wear stage occurred at approximately 9–12 h,after which the corrosion current increased with the expansion of the wear area.As the halide concentration increased,the scale of damage on the wear scars gradually decreased,changing from being dominated by cracks,delaminations,and grooves to being dominated by scratches,microgrooves,and holes.There was an obvious positive synergism between wear and corrosion.The material loss was dominated by pure mechanical wear and wear enhanced by corrosion,but corrosion enhanced by wear contributed more than tangential sliding fretting corrosion.The total mass loss increased gradually in the range of 0.0–0.5 wt%and decreased in the range of 0.5–5.0 wt%.Large-scale damage enhanced by corrosivity and small-scale damage reduced by lubricity dominated the material loss at low and high concentrations,respectively.

The Influence of Crystallographic Orientation and Grain Boundary on Nanoindentation Behavior of Inconel 718 Superalloy Based on Crystal Plasticity Theory

The crystal plasticity finite element method(CPFEM)is widely used to explore the microscopic mechanical behavior of materials and understand the deformation mechanism at the grain-level.However,few CPFEM simulation studies have been carried out to analyze the nanoindentation deformation mechanism of polycrystalline materials at the microscale level.In this study,a three-dimensional CPFEM-based nanoindentation simulation is performed on an Inconel 718 polycrystalline material to examine the influence of different crystallographic parameters on nanoindentation behavior.A representative volume element model is developed to calibrate the crystal plastic constitutive parameters by comparing the stress-strain data with the experimental results.The indentation force-displacement curves,stress distributions,and pile-up patterns are obtained by CPFEM simulation.The results show that the crystallographic orientation and grain boundary have little influence on the force-displacement curves of the nanoindentation,but significantly influence the local stress distributions and shape of the pile-up patterns.As the difference in crystallographic orientation between grains increases,changes in the pile-up patterns and stress distributions caused by this effect become more significant.In addition,the simulation results reveal that the existence of grain boundaries affects the continuity of the stress distribution.The obstruction on the continuity of stress distribution increases as the grain boundary angle increases.This research demonstrates that the proposed CPFEM model can well describe the microscopic compressive deformation behaviors of Inconel 718 under nanoindentation.

Heterogenization can improve the thermal tolerance of olefin polymerization catalysts and result in good product morphology con-trol,which are two important parameters for industrial polyethylene production.In this work,α-diimine nickel catalysts bearing-OH or-ONa anchoring groups were designed and prepared.The anchoring groups can enable facile heterogenization of the cata-lysts on silica.The heterogeneous catalysts demonstrated enhanced thermal stabilities,along with high catalytic activity at 120℃(up to 5.5×10^(6)g·PE·mol·Ni^(-1)·h^(-1)).Furthermore,the heterogenization process results in the improvements of many other parame-ters,including polymer morphology control,catalytic activity(up to 1.9×10^(7)g·PE·mol·Ni^(-1)·h^(-1))and polyethylene molecular weight(Mn up to 2.3×10^(6)g·mol^(-1)).More importantly,the structure and properties of the polymer products can be controlled by catalyst structures,polymerization conditions and heterogenization to achieve good mechanical properties and elasticity.

Effects of persulfate-assisted hydrothermal treatment of municipal sludge on aqueous phase characteristics and phytotoxicity

Hydrothermal technology (HT) has received much attention in recent years as a process to convert wet organic waste into hydrochar.The aqueous phase (HTAP) produced by this process is still a burden and has become a bottleneck issue for HT process development.In this study,we provide the?rst investigation of the HTAP characteristics,phytotoxicity,and their correlation with persulfate (PS)(PS,2.0 mmol/g TS)-assisted municipal sludge HT.The results showed that PS accelerated the hydrolysis of protein substances and increased the concentration of NH_(4)^(+)by 13.4%to 190.5%and that of PO_(4)^(3-)by 24.2%to 1103.7%in HTAP at hydrothermal temperatures of 120 to 240℃.PS can reduce the phytotoxicity of HTAP by reducing aldehydes,ketones,N heterocyclic compounds,and particle size and by increasing its humi?cation index.The maximum values of the root length and biomass of pakchoi(Brassica chinensis L.) seedlings occurred when electrical conductivity was 0.2 mS/cm of HTAP.This work provided a new strategy for the selection and design of HTAP management strategies.
