Migration departure strategies of shorebirds at a final pre-breeding stopover site

Background: Departure decisions and behaviors of migratory birds at stopover sites are expected to maximize fit?ness by trade?offs among avoiding predators, optimizing refueling(energy) capacity, and matching other life?history events. We predict that species with different body sizes and migratory destinations will exhibit different behaviors when departing from the same stopover site. We also predict that with strong time constraint at the final pre?breed?ing stopover site, departure decisions may be less sensitive to exogenous factors, such as wind condition, compared to other stopover or nonbreeding ***: We recorded migratory departures of four shorebird species, i.e. Eurasian Curlew(Numenius arquata), Bar?tailed Godwit(Limosa lapponica), Great Knot(Calidris tenuirostris), and Grey Plover(Pluvialis squatarola), at Yaluji?ang Estuary Wetlands in China, a final pre?breeding stopover site in the northern Yellow Sea, from 2011 to 2014. We compared flock sizes, departure time and departure directions between species, and investigated the effects of tide and weather conditions(rain and ground wind speed and direction) on the departure decision of ***: We found that larger species departed in smaller flocks and were more variable in daily departure time. Departure trajectory of all four species appeared to be influenced by coastal topography. With the east–west coast?line and intertidal mudflat on the south, birds exhibited westward or eastward deflection from the shortest migra?tory routes. Bar?tailed Godwit was the only species that deviated to the southeast and did not climb over the land. Birds avoided departure during precipitation, while their departure was not related to ground wind benefit or tidal ***: Body size among species, which influences their vulnerability to predators, might be important in shaping shorebird departure strategies. 无线异构网络数据传输中过多的协同节点使得蜂窝网络接入环境产生更多的干扰。为了使异构网络环境下的网络干扰最小,提出了一种近邻中继节点在异构网络中的部署策略。该部署策略首先构造异构网络干扰模型,进而分析异构网络下的各种干扰情况,最终推导并计算异构环境下的中继节点中断概率和误码率。在实验数据分析中,采用最近邻算法和固定部署策略比较协同网络性能。理论和实验表明,最近邻的解决方案可以有效地提高在异构环境中的蜂窝系统性能,对无线异构网络的干扰达到较好的效果。

SSD(Single Shot multi-box Detector)算法是在不同层的特征图上,进行多尺度对象的检测,具有速度快和精度高的特点.但是,传统SSD算法的特征金字塔检测方法很难融合不同尺度的特征,并且由于底层的卷积神经网络层具有较弱的语义信息,也不利于小物体的识别,因此本论文提出了以SSD算法的网络结构为基础的一种新颖的目标检测算法RF_SSD,该算法将不同层及不同尺度的特征图以轻量级的方式相融合,下采样层生成新的特征图,通过引入感受野模块,提高网络的特征提取能力,增强特征的表征能力和鲁棒性.和传统SSD算法相比,本文算法在精度上有明显提升,同时充分保证了目标检测的实时性.实验结果表明,在PASCAL VOC测试集上测试,准确率为80.2%,检测速度为44.5 FPS.

This article introduces a method of achieving high polarization extinction ratio using a subwavelength grating structure on a lithium niobate thin film platform,and the chip is formed on the surface of the lithium nio⁃bate thin *** chip,with a length of just 20μm,achieved a measured polarization extinction ratio of 29 dB at 1550 nm *** progress not only proves the possibility of achieving a high extinction ratio on a lith⁃ium niobate thin film platform,but also offers important technical references for future work on polarization beam splitters,integrated fiber optic gyroscopes,and so on.

Agreement of angle closure assessments between gonioscopy, anterior segment optical coherence tomography and spectral domain optical coherence tomography

AIM: To determine angle closure agreements between gonioscopy and anterior segment optical coherence tomography(AS-OCT), as well as gonioscopy and spectral domain OCT(SD-OCT). A secondary objective was to quantify inter-observer agreements of AS-OCT and SD-OCT ***: Seventeen consecutive subjects(33 eyes)were recruited from the study hospital’s Glaucoma *** was performed by a glaucomatologist masked to OCT results. OCT images were read independently by 2 other glaucomatologists masked to gonioscopy findings as well as each other’s analyses of OCT ***: Totally 84.8% and 45.5% of scleral spurs were visualized in AS-OCT and SD-OCT images respectively(P angle closure between AS-OCT and gonioscopy was fair at k =0.31(95% confidence interval, CI: 0.03-0.59) and k =0.35(95%CI: 0.07-0.63) for reader 1 and 2 respectively. The agreement for angle closure between SD-OCT and gonioscopy was fair at k =0.21(95% CI: 0.07-0.49) and slight at k =0.17(95% CI: 0.08-0.42) for reader 1 and 2 respectively. The inter-reader agreement for angle closure in AS-OCT images was moderate at 0.51(95% CI: 0.13-0.88). The inter-reader agreement for angle closure in SD-OCT images was slight at 0.18(95% CI: 0.08-0.45).CONCLUSION: Significant proportion of scleral spurs were not visualised with SD-OCT imaging resulting in weaker inter-reader agreements. Identifying other angle landmarks in SD-OCT images will allow more consistent angle closure assessments. Gonioscopy and OCT imaging do not always agree in angle closure assessments but have their own advantages, and should be used together and not exclusively.

为了探究矿山法围岩破碎程度对临近装配式建筑地基及构件动力响应的影响,采用ANSYS/LS-DYNA数值计算软件开展了数值模拟研究,分析了不同炸药长度下岩体得破裂过程及爆破应力波的传播特征。数值计算结果表明,装药周围岩体以裂纹为中心,向外呈辐射状破碎。装药周围岩体破碎程度较高,由于爆轰波及爆生气体对炮孔壁进行强烈地冲击压缩,形成粉碎区,对临近装配式建筑的地基稳定性影响很大。爆破应力波呈现出多层次的球面状向外扩散传播,对周围岩体型成多次的拉伸作用。同时随着距装药中心距离的增加,爆炸产生的应力峰值逐渐降低,装配式建筑的构件动力响应也随之降低。

本文总结31例经皮冠状动脉腔内血管成形术(PTCA)前后作运动核素心肌灌注断层显像,PTCA前冠状动脉平均狭窄82.58±16.04%,术后为17.7±6.21%,26例(83.9%)运动心肌灌注断层显像显示PTCA术后心肌缺血完全消失及明显改善。90.3%病例PTCA术后运动试验较术前进步。认为运动心肌灌注断层显像可做为判断PTCA疗效的有效方法。

Two Singapore public healthcare AI applications for national screening programs and other examples

This article explains how two AI systems have been incorporated into the everyday operations of two Singapore public healthcare nation‐wide screening *** first example is embedded within the setting of a national level population health screening program for diabetes related eye diseases,targeting the rapidly increasing number of adults in the country with *** the second example,the AI assisted screening is done shortly after a person is admitted to one of the public hospitals to identify which inpatients—especially which elderly patients with complex conditions—have a high risk of being readmitted as an inpatient multiple times in the months following *** in which healthcare needs and the clinical operations context influenced the approach to designing or deploying the AI systems are highlighted,illustrating the multiplicity of factors that shape the requirements for successful large‐scale deployments of AI systems that are deeply embedded within clinical *** the first example,the choice was made to use the system in a semi‐automated(*** automated)mode as this was assessed to be more cost‐effective,though still offering substantial productivity *** the second example,machine learning algorithm design and model execution trade-offs were made that prioritized key aspects of patient engagement and inclusion over higher levels of predictive *** article concludes with several lessons learned related to deploying AI systems within healthcare settings,and also lists several other AI efforts already in deployment and in the pipeline for Singapore's public healthcare system.
