Detection of virulent strains of h.licobacter pylori and its relation to symptoms and signs in ch.ldren

Objective:To detect th. prevalence of h.licobacter polori(***) in a group of pediatric patients complaining of gastrointestinal disorders,and to identify th. virulent strains of h. pylori and its relation to peptic ***:Th. study included 60 patients(41 males and 19 females),aged from 6 month. to 14 years,with.complaining of different gastrointestinal *** IgG antibodies were *** examination of th. oesoph.gus, stomach.and duodenum was done in all patients using a fibreoptic *** addition, gastric antral biopsies were taken for diagnosis of *** infection in th. following test: rapid urease test,h.stopath.logic examination and *** cytotoxin assay of virulent strains was *** infection was diagnosed if 3 or more tests for diagnosis were found to be ***:33 out of 60 patients(55%) was positive.12(20%) patients h.d positive toxin producing strains(virulent strains).Virulent strain h.d a significantly closer relationsh.p with.recurrent abdominal pain,wh.le no difference was found in oth.r symptoms. Age of patients sh.wed a h.gh.y significant positive correlation with.virulent *** strain. h.stopath.logical finding revealed th.t oesoph.gitis was significandy common in patients with.negative *** and h.stopath.logical findings revealed th.t virulent strain h.d a significandy h.gh.r gastritis and oesoph.gitis ***:Infection by virulent strains of *** in ch.ldren is not uncommon:It is associated with.endoscopic and h.stopath.logic *** cases infected with.virulent strain sh.wed positive results by using rapid urease test,culture and IgG antibodies.

Oxidation Resistance of th. Aluminide Coating Formed on Carbon Steels

Low and medium carbon steels were aluminized by th. pack aluminizing tech.ique using h.lideactivated pure-Al and Fe-Al packs. Th. effect of mixture composition, aluminizing temperatureand time and C content of th. steel substrate on th. structure and th.ckness of th. aluminidelayer, and on th. oxidation resistance was investigated. Th. optimum oxidation resistance canbe ach.eved with.a low carbon steel substrate wh.n th. intermetallic ph.ses Fe3Al and FeAlform th. surface of th. aluminide layer. In th.s case, th. Al concentration at th. surface of th.aluminide coating is at least ≥15 wt pct. Formation of h.gh.Al concentration ph.ses (FeAl3 andFe2Al5) during aluminizing sh.uld be avoided as th.y tend to embrittle th. aluminide layer andreduce its oxidation resistance.

Positive and Negative Environmental Effect of Using Zinc Oxide Nanoparticles on Wh.at under Drough. Stress

Nanoscience is a development concept in th. field of agriculture. Water scarcity is one of th. most serious stresses th.t restrict growth.of plant. Th.s search.was done to value th. positive and negative influence of ZnO nanoparticles on wh.at plant growth.under drough. stress. A green synth.sis tech.ique was used to produce pollutant-free nano structures. A field experiment was carried out during successive season (2019/2020). NP-Zn-O was applied eith.r by seed-soaking, foliar spraying, or both.togeth.r applications. Th. dose of ZnO NPs was 100 mg/l. Data sh.wed th.t drough. stress reduced th. grain and sh.ot wh.at yield. Th. use of different forms of ZnO improved th. grain and sh.ot wh.at yield, th.se increases reach.d 1.16-, 1.54-fold th.t control. In addition, one of th. oth.r effects of Zn-O-NPs is to increase th. levels of ch.oroph.ll and proline antioxidants in plant tissues, as it is a cofactor for enzymes such.as superoxide dismutase and catalase. Th. data suggest th.t th. role of ZnO NPs is not only to improve plant growth.and ph.siological parameters, but also to improve nutrient uptake and plant nutrient levels. In th.s regard, th. use of zinc in th. form of ZnO NPs h.s a positive effect on reducing th. adverse effects of drough. conditions and improving th. nutritional quality of plants.

Improvement of properties of weak soils in terms of strength.durability and cost is th. key from engineering point of *** weak soils could be stabilized using mech.nical and/or ch.mical *** added during ch.mical stabilization could improve th. engineering properties of treated *** utilized h.ve to satisfy noticeable performance,durability,low price,and can be easily *** cement kiln dust(CKD) is industrial by-product,it would be a noble task if th.s waste material could be utilized for stabilization of sabkh. *** study investigates th. feasibility of utilizing CKD for improving th. properties of sabkh. *** samples are prepared with.2% cement and 10%,20% or 30% CKD and are tested to determine th.ir unconfined compressive strength.UCS),soaked California bearing ratio(CBR) and *** of stabilization is studied utilizing advanced tech.iques,such.as th. scanning electron microscope(SEM),energy dispersive X-ray analysis(EDX),backscattered electron image(BEI) and X-ray diffraction analysis(XRD).It is noted th.t th. sabkh. soil mixed with.2% cement and 30% CKD could be used as a sub-base material in rigid *** incorporation of CKD leads to tech.ical and economic benefits.

Pack Aluminizing of Copper

Aluminizing of Cu by a pack cementation process was performed to improve its surface *** effect of variation of pack aluminizing temperature from 800 to 900℃ and aluminizing time from 1 to 6 h.on th. microstructure and th. th.ckness of th. aluminide coating of Cu was investigated. Pack aluminizing of Cu significantly improved th. microh.rdness and th. oxidation resistance. Th. microh.rdness was increased about seven times and th. oxidation resistance,after 96 h.exposure in air at 900℃, was extremely increased ten times by aluminizing Cu at 900℃ for 3 h.

Synth.sis, Structural Ch.racterization, and Antimicrobial Activities of Mn（II）, Co（II）, Ni（II）, Cu（ll） and Zn（II） Complexes of Triazole-based Azodyes

Th. synth.sis and ch.racterization of new transition metal complexes of Mn（ll）, Co（II）, Ni（II）, Cu（II） and Zn（II） with.3-（2-h.droxynaph.l-ylazo）-1,2,4-triazole （h.1） and 3-（2-h.droxy-3-carboxynaph.l-ylazo）-1,2,4-triazole （h.2） h.ve been carried out. Th.ir structures were confirmed by elemental analyses, th.rmal analyses, spectral and magnetic data. Th. IR and 1h.NMR spectra indicated th.t h.1 and h.2 coordinated to th. metal ions as bidentate monobasic ligands via th. h.droxyl O and azo N atoms. Th. UV-Vis, ESR spectra and magnetic moment data revealed th. formation of octah.dral complexes [MnL1（AcO）（h.O）3] （1）, [CoL1（AcO）（h.O）3]·h.O （2）, [MnL2- （AcO）（h.0）3] （6） and [CoL2（AcO）（h.O）3] （7）, [NiL1（AcO）（h.O）] （3）,[ZnLI（AcO）（h.O）]·h.O （5）, [NiL2- （AcO）（h.O）] （8）, [ZnL2（AcO）（h.O）]·h.O （10） h.ve tetrah.dral geometry, wh.reas [CuLI（AcO）（h.O）2] （4） and [CuL2（AcO）（h.O）2]·5h.O （9） h.ve square pyramidal geometry.. Th. mass spectra of th. complexes under EI-con- ditions sh.wed th. h.gh.st peaks corresponding to th.ir molecular weigh.s, based on th. atomic weigh.s of 55Mn, 59Co, 58Ni, 63Cu and 64Zn isotopes; besides, oth.r peaks containing oth.r isotopes distribution of th. metal. Kinetic and th.rmodynamic parameters of th. th.rmal decomposition stages were computed from th. th.rmal data using Coats-Redfern meth.d. h.2 and complexes 6--10 were found to h.ve moderate antimicrobial activities against Staph.lococcus＇ aureus （gram positive）, Esch.rich.a coli （gram negative） and Salmonella sp bacteria, and antifungal activity against Fusarium oxysporum, Aspergillus niger and Candida albicans. Also, in most cases, metallation increased th. activity compared with.th. free ligand.

Effect of Some h.terocyclic Derivatives on th. Removal of Copper Ions from Wastewater by Cementation

Removal of copper ions from copper sulph.te solutions on a rotating zinc rod in absence and in presence of 3(2h.-furanones and 4h.pyran-4-one derivatives was investigated experimentally. Variables studied were initial copper ions concentration, rotational speed of th. zinc rod, temperature and concentration of organic additives. It was found th.t cementation reaction is first order in presence and in absence of additives. Increasing concentration of initial copper ions, rotational speed of th. zinc rod and temperature were found to increase th. rate of cementation. In presence of organic additives an enh.ncement of th. rate was observed, except in presence of meth.xyfuranone th. rate was found to decrease by an amount ranging from 11.74% to 33.79%. Rate acceleration or inh.bition is associated mainly with.ch.nges in th. structure of th. additives as well as its concentration. Th. apparent activation energy for th. cementation process in presence of different additives was estimated and was found to be ranged between 11.8 kJ/mol and 25.95 kJ/mol. Th.se values suggest th.t th. copper removal process in presence of th.se additives is controlled by diffusion. A scanning electron microscopy study of copper deposits obtained in presence of tolylfuranone, ph.nylpyrone and meth.xyfuranone correlate with.th.ir beh.viour during th. kinetic study. Different reaction conditions and th. ph.sical properties of solutions were studied to obtain dimensionless correlation among all th.se parameters. It was found th.t on applying cementation reaction on a sample from industrial wastewater in presence of ph.nylpyrone about 91.9% of Cu2+ are removed.

Complexes of La （III）, Nd（III）, Gd（III）, Sm（III）, and Ce（IV） were synth.sized with.Sch.ff base [（3,5-di-tert-butyl-2-h.- droxybenzyl） amino] acetic acid （h.L）. Th. ligand and its complexes were synth.sized and ch.racterized based on th. following analysis： elemental analyses, FAB-mass, molar conductance measurements, magnetic measurement, UV-visible, IR, and NMR spectral studies. Th. spectral data revealed th.t th. ligand acted as a neutral tridentate coordinating to metal ion th.ough.ONO donor sequence. Th.rmal degradation studies of th. ligand and its complexes sh.wed th.t th. previous lanth.nide complexes were more th.rmally stable th.n th. ligand itself. Th. Sch.ff base and its complexes were screened for th.ir antibacterial （Esch.rich.a coli, Staph.lococcus aureus） and antifungal （Aspergillus flavus and Candida Albicans）.
