The protection of Thymus vulgaris leaves alcoholic extract against hepatotoxicity of alcohol in rats

Objective:This study was performed to investigate the protective effect of Thymus vulgaris(***) leaves 70%alcoholic extract against alcohol-mediate hepatotoxicity ***:The protective effect of extract was investigated at dose of 500 mg/kg/day orally against alcohol-mediate hepatotoxicity using adult male Wister albino rats during 21 *** effect of *** extract was evaluated comparing with silymarin standard drug al recommended dose(25 mg/kg/day) orally for 21 ***:Alcohol-mediate hepatotoxicity rats(alcohol-control) showed hepatocytes distortion represented as marked increment on liver biomarkers;alkaline phosphatase(ALP),aspartate transaminase(AST) and alanine transaminase(ALT) activities,as well as pronounced reduction on total protein and its fractions albumin and globulin corresponding to normal *** to oxidative stress status as depletion on glutathione concentration,catalase(CAT),superoxide dismutase(SOD),glutathione reductase(GR),glutathione-S-transferase(GST) and glutathione peroxidase(GPx)activities,concurrence with augmentation oxidative stress parameters;malondyaldchydc(MDA) and hydrogen peroxide(H_2O_2) concentrations comparing to normal *** administration elevated total cholesterol(TC),low density lipoprotein cholesterol(LDL-C) and high density lipoprotein cholesterol(HDL-C) comparing to normal ***-administration *** extract with alcohol showed protective effect on hepatocytes manifested as minimizing on *** and ALT activities and increment on total protein,albumin and globulin production compared to *** enzymes activities;***,GST and GPx were significantly magnified,while MDA and H_2O_2 concentration were lessened corresponding to ***,lipid profile was markedly improved and risk ratio was lowered compared to *** results were confirmed by normalization of degenerated and fibrotic liver tissue as of alcohol-cont

Obesity phenotype in relation to gene polymorphism among samples of Egyptian children and their mothers

Obesity is complex heterogeneous disease controlled by genes,environmental factors,and their *** factors account for 40e90%of the body mass index *** mass index(BMI)of children correlates more closely with maternal than paternal ***,this studu was aimed to investigate the role of leptin receptor LEPR Gln223Arg,the uncoupling protein 2(UCP2 G 866 A)and insulin receptor gene(INSR exon 17)polymorphisms in the pathogenesis of obesity.A cross-sectional study executed on 130 children and their obese mothers;classified into 2 groups according to their *** 2 groups were evaluated regarding the *** fragment length analysis for LEPR Gln223Arg,UCP2-866 G/A and INSR exon 17 polymorphisms were *** was reported that increased risk of obesity was found in LEPR AG t AA genotype and the A *** statistical difference was detected only in female *** UCP2,the AG followed by the GG genotype was the most frequent in all groups and the G allele was the mostly present in obese mothers and obese male children but with no statistical *** was difference in the INSR genotype and alleles between groups,but this difference was not statistically *** study concluded that the LEPR Gln223Arg,UCP2 G 866 A and INSR exon 17 polymorphisms are related to obesity in Egyptian *** researches on larger population are recommended to ascertain the implications of LEPR,UCP2 and INSR polymorphisms in obesity.

Information security is one of the most important methods of protecting the confidentiality and privacy of internet *** greater the volume of data,the more the need to increase the security methods for protecting data from *** task can be challenging for researchers in terms of managing enormous data and maintaining their safety and *** of digital content is a major issue in maintaining the privacy and secrecy of *** this end,digital watermarking is based on the concept of information security through the insertion and detection of an embedded watermark in an efficient *** methodologies in the research on digital watermarking result in data distortion after embedding the *** scenario can reduce the efficiency of detecting watermarks as well as violate data *** study adapts a robust reversible histogram shifting(HS)technique for textual data in relational ***,the study presents a digital watermarking scheme intended for document copyright protection and proof of *** major advantage of the proposed watermarking scheme is that it can protect digital data and preserve data *** the best of our knowledge,this research methodology is promising for use in the HS expansion model for watermarking data on nonnumeric *** addition,the results showed that despite exposing the database to an insertion attacks at 50%and 75%of the watermark,the proposed algorithm can recovermore than half of the embedded watermark in all addition and alteration attacks *** a result,the watermark information can be retained and restored completely.

Bedouin farms in the Saint Katherine mountainous area(South Sinai,Egypt)

This study aims to assess the natural and cultivated plant species in 26 Bedouin farms in Saint Katherine Protectorate(SKP),identify their soil and water characteristics,and assess the suitability of these farms for the cultivation of some wild medicinal *** farms were selected to represent wide wadis with deep sand and clay deposits,gorge-like wadis covered with rock fragments of different sizes,spot-like oases,and the Al Q’aa *** TWINSPAN(two-way indicator species analysis)and DCA(detrended correspondence analysis)techniques,the 26 farms were classified into 5 groups(Ⅰ-Ⅴ)based on their floristic composition of wild *** groups reflect an elevation gradient among the farms above sea level from a mean of 119 m to a mean of1,865m.A total of 73 wild species were recorded,with47 in groupⅡ(500-1,000 m)and 25 in group V(>1,700 m).The common target species were Artemisia judaica,Acacia tortilis ***,Origanum syriacum *** and Varthemia montana(34.6%-26.9%).The cultivated speciesnumbered 25,with 17 in groupⅡ(500-1,000 m) andⅡin groupⅣ(1,500-1,700 m).The common fruit trees were olive,grape,fig,apple,palm,almond,apricot and pomegranate(73.0%-42.3%).Based on the soil characteristics,13 farms belong to soil class 2that describes good soils with moderate limitations,and 12 belong to soil class 3 that describes modera.ely good soils,which can be used regularly for crops after proper treatment.

Influence of manganese rate on structural, optical and electrochemical properties of CeO_(2) thin films deposited by spray pyrolysis:Supercapacitor applications

The present work aimed to investigate the electrochemical properties of ITO substrates in propylene carbonate(PC) with 0.5 mol/L lithium perchlorate(LiClO_(4)) medium in the presence of elaborated thin films of cerium dioxide pure and doped with manganese at varying ***_(1-x)Mn_(x)O_(2)(x=0 wt%,2 wt%,4 wt% and 6 wt%) were successfully deposited by the spray pyrolysis(SP) technique on the glass substrate and ITO at 450℃.The effects of manganese(Mn) doped thin films Ce_(1-x)Mn_(x)O_(2) were studied and investigated by using different analyses na.ely X-ray diffraction(XRD) analysis,Raman spectroscopy method,UV-Vis spectrophotometer technique,atomic force microscopy(AFM) analysis and electrochemical *** data obtained present a polycrystalline with a face-centred cubic structure of fluorite *** results of undoped and Mn doped thin films show two peaks at 465 and 600 cm^(-1),due to the formation of extrinsic oxygen vacancies by the incorporation of Mn into Ce1-xMnxO_(2) *** dispersive spectroscopy(EDS) data show the presence of Ce,O,and Mn elements in the elaborated *** AFM results reveal that the surface roughness decreases with increasing Mn ***,band gap energy of thin films decreases with increasing in Mn rate due to the formation of defect state between valence and conduction *** storage capacity of the elaborated Ce_(1-x)Mn_(x)O_(2)/ITO/PC+LiClO_(4) electrode reaches a maximum of 1.997 mF in the presence of 6 wt% of Mn.

We propose a relaxation rate or dissipative cavity-based parameters that can be used as indicators of the stationary limit of a mixed state geometric phase. We perform our considerations for the system of a superconducting qubit in an open transmission line or interacting with a dissipative cavity. This system is very useful for performing an effective quantum computation by exhibiting the long collapse time of the geometric phase. It is shown that the geometric phase in the stationary limit does not depend on interaction time if the decay time exceeds an upper bound.

Preserving apple(Malus domestica ***)fruit bioactive substances using olive wastes extract-chitosan film coating

Apple fruits have components of therapeutic *** components,to a great extent,decline or decompose during post-harvest that negatively affect fruit *** fruit-filming has proved useful in maintaining these *** study aims,therefore,at enhancing Chitosan coating-film performance by mixing with some olive wastes extracts of leaf and pomace *** fruits were sprayed with six different coating formulas including chitosan-water wax coating,in addition to the uncoated ***,the total phenolic,flavonoids,antioxidants,pigments,weight loss,decay area,and microstructure were *** bioactive substances drastically changed in uncoated rather than coated ***,weight loss and decay area significantly increased in uncoated ***,the addition of olive leaf extract to chitosan coating films meaningfully reduced the gradual decline in total phenolic,flavonoids and *** pomace extract recorded the lowest influencing on anthocyanins during storage at 4±1C for 35 ***,both olive leaf and pomace extracts enhanced the coating distribution,due to no pores were observed in the fruits’***,incorporation of olive leaf extracts with 2%into chitosan coating solution was the best formula comparable with the ***,olive wastes extracts,incorporated into chitosan fruit coatings;relatively improve the nutritional quality of apple fruits during post-harvest.

A computer-based image analysis for tear ferning featuring

The present work focuses on the development of a novel computer-based approach for tear ferning(TF)*** original TF images of the recently developedfive-point grading scale have been used to assign a grade for any TF image automatically.A vector characteristic(VC)representing each grade was built using the reference images.A weighted combination between features selected from textures analysis using gray level co-occurrence matrix(GLCM),power spectrum(PS)analysis and linear specificity of the image were used to build the VC of each grade.A total of 14 features from texture analysis were *** at di®erent frequency points and number of line segments in each image were also *** features from GLCM have shown significant di®erences between the recently developed grading scale images which are:angular second moment at 0and 45,contrast,and correlation at 0and 45;thesefive features were all included in the characteristic *** specific power frequencies were used in the VC because of the discrimination *** of line segments was also chosen because of dissimilarities between images.A VC for each grade of TF reference images was constructed and was found to be significantly different from each other'*** is a basic and fundamental step toward an automatic grading for computer-based diagnosis for dry eye.

In this research,we focus on the free-surface deformation of a one-dimensional elastic semiconductor medium as a function of magnetic field and moisture *** problem aims to analyze the interconnection between plasma and moisture diffusivity processes,as well as thermo-elastic *** study examines the photothermoelasticity transport process while considering the impact of moisture *** employing Laplace’s transformation technique,we derive the governing equations of the photo-thermo-elastic *** equations include the equations for carrier density,elastic waves,moisture transport,heat conduction,and constitutive *** stresses,thermal conditions,and plasma boundary conditions are used to calculate the fundamental physical parameters in the Laplace *** employing numerical techniques,the Laplace transform is inverted to get complete time-domain solutions for the primary physical domains under ***,thermoelastic,and thermoelectric characteristics are employed in conjunction with a graphical analysis that takes into consideration the effects of applied forces on displacement,moisture concentration,carrier density,stress due to forces,and temperature distribution.
