High Gain UWB Four Elements Antenna Array for C-Band and X-Band Application

The C-band is allocated for commercial telecommunications via satellites. Amateur satellite operations in the frequency range 5.830 to 5.850 GHz for down-links and 5.650 to 5.670 GHz for up-links are allowed by International Telecommunication Union. The X-band is used for terrestrial broadband communication, radar applications, and portions of the X-band are assigned for deep space telecommunications. In this paper, a design of 4 × 1 Ultra Wide Band (UWB) antenna array for C-band and X-band applications is introduced. Metamaterial sixteen-unit cells are incorporated into each antenna element for radiation characteristics enhancement purposes. Permeability and permittivity of metamaterial unit cells are obtained all over the operating bandwidth. UWB unequal power divider is used to feed the proposed four elements antenna array based on Chebyshev excitation method. The proposed antenna has a suitable 3 dB beam width and gains all over the operating bandwidth which extends from 5.6 GHz to 10.9 GHz. The proposed antenna covers 60% and 72.5% of the C-band and X-band, respectively. The proposed antenna is fabricated, measured, and good agreement is obtained between simulated and measured results. The obtained performance ensures the suitability of the proposed antenna array for C-band and X-band applications.

Black sea coast line is a hazardous region in Turkey especially in winter due to the dominant wave ***,rubble mound breakwaters used as ship shelters are vital structures especially for the *** of the breakwater requires good quality durable armourstones(natural rock).Due to the nature of the rubble mound breakwaters,the armourstones with various sizes and types are used in the construction of these *** deterioration of these armourstones with time may result in the failure of the breakwater. In this study,various field and laboratory tests suggested in CIRIA/CUR(1991) and RERS(1998) of five armourstones(mainly limestone,andesite and sandstone) are performed. The test results are compared with their site performances in breakwaters and used to evaluate the suitability of the test *** the studied stones,the sandstone displays very poor *** others are found to be relatively good. Based on the data obtained,it is observed that some of the physico-mechanical parameters of the armourstones are good at predicting the long-term field performance of the *** paper will discuss the parameters to be used in the durability assessments of the armourstones.

Cupping therapy adverse events: A protocol of a comprehensive systemic review

Cupping therapy is one of the most ancient traditional and complementary medicine practices that using globally by many civilizations. This protocol is setting the methods for conducting a new comprehensive systematic review to evaluate and set recommendations regarding safety of cupping therapy practice. Randomized clinical trials, case series, and case studies will be selected to be included in this study. PubMed, Trip medical database, and Cochrane Library be searched Since inception to 1 December 2021. The main outcomes of the systematic review will be: details of adverse events, casualty of identified adverse events (WHO-UMC causality scale) and severity of adverse events (Common Terminology Criteria (CTCAE) scale). Assessment of quality of reporting of safety in randomized clinical trials will be done. Classification of adverse events related to cupping therapy, recommendations regarding safety and suggestions regarding future cupping therapy research will be provided in the full-text of the systematic review. Highlights-The first comprehensive systematic review protocol of adverse events related to cupping therapy. There is no time or geographic location limits for selection of studies. The systematic review will give full evaluation of safety of cupping therapy.

In order to meet key requirements imposed by transitioning to a 5G network, new network management techniques must be employed in order to increase network reliability and efficiency. Most notably, it is important that a Self-Organizing Network (SON) is able to recover autonomously from network failure or congestion through Self-Healing procedures (i.e. autonomous detection, diagnosis, and correction). This paper aims to develop a self-healing algorithm that can effectively “heal” a 5G network by testing a proposed self-healing algorithm within a network simulator that adheres to current 5G standards. The simulator developed in this paper aims to model a network of small cells that can inherit one of multiple states (healthy, congested, and failing) to validate the effectiveness of a programmed self-healing algorithm in recovering a simulated network. Results show that the application of a self-healing in a network is able to resolve issues related to Quality of Service (QoS) and reduced network data rates in portions of a network that are in a partially congested or failing state.

Surgical Management of Fracture Neck of Femur in a Medically Unfit ASA3/4 Patient Selection Using Direct Infiltration Local Anaesthesia

Patients who suffer a Fractured Neck of Femur (NOF) have a high mortality and morbidity rate with up to 20% needing long term care post fracture and a further 30% not returning to their pre fracture functioning. Hip fracture accounts for 87% of total fragility fractures. We describe an anaesthetic technique of fixation of fracture of the femoral neck under direct infiltration local anaesthesia;that can be performed on the sick elderly patient. Twenty-eight NOF fractures were included in this series (24 DHS, 4 Hemiarthroplasty);twenty-three procedures were completed (82.14%);no patient required conversion to another form of anaesthesia either general or spinal;five patients required some degree of light sedation due to agitation (17.8%). This method presents itself as an option in managing patient with high comorbidities which can also be implemented in impoverished areas with limited access to operating surgical facilities.

AIM: To investigate the effect of N-acetyl cysteine (NAC)on acute viral hepatitis (AVH).METHODS: We administered 200 mg oral NAC three times daily (600 mg/day) to the study group and placebo capsules to the control group. All patients were hospitalized and diagnosed as AVH. Blood total and direct bilirubin, ALT, AST,alkaline phosphatese, albumin and globulin levels of each patient were measured twice weekly until total bilirubin level dropped under 2 mg/dl, ALT level under 100 U/L, follow up was continued and then the patients were ***: A total of 41(13 female and 28 male) AVH patients were included in our study. The period for normalization of ALT and total bilirubin in the study group was 19.7±6.9 days and 13.7±8.5 days respectively. In the control group it was 20.4±6.5 days and 16.9±7.8 days respectively (P＞0.05).CONCLUSION: NAC administration effected neither the time necessary for normalization of ALT and total bilirubin values nor duration of hospitalization, so we could not suggest NAC for the treatment of icteric AVH cases. However, our results have shown that this drug is not harmful to patients with AVH.

Background: Classical teaching dictates that follicular adenoma (FA) can be distinguished from follicular carcinoma (FC) based on histologic features only. We retrospectively reviewed our institution’s 10-year experience in the use of fine-needle aspiration (FNA) to diagnose follicular thyroid neoplasms. Methods: Patients who had FNA of a thyroid neoplasm from 2000 to 2010 were reviewed. Diagnoses of FA, FC, or follicular neoplasm-not otherwise specified (NOS) were included. Cytopathological results were correlated with surgical pathology. Results: Of 138 patients, 65% underwent surgery. FNA diagnosis for FA had a sensitivity of 50% and specificity of 71%. 25% of patients with an FNA diagnosis of FA were found to have cancer after surgical specimen examination. FNA diagnosis for FC had a sensitivity of 60% and specificity of 94%. Conclusions: FNA has a low sensitivity for diagnosing FA. Surgical pathology remains the gold standard for differentiating follicular carcinoma from adenoma.
