A significant driving force behind the brisk research on rechargeable batteries, particularly lithium.ion batteries (LiBs) in high-perform.nce applications, is the developm.nt of portable devices and electric vehicles. Carbon-based m.terials, which have finite specific capacity, m.ke up the anodes of LiBs. m.ny attem.ts are being m.de to produce novel nanostructured com.osite anode m.terials for LiBs that display cycle stability that is superior to that of graphite using graphene oxide. Therefore, using significant am.unts of waste graphene oxide from.used LiBs represents a fantastic opportunity to engage in waste m.nagem.nt and circular econom.. This review outlines recent studies, developm.nts and the current advancem.nt of graphene oxide-based LiBs, including preparation of graphene oxide and utilization in LiBs, particularly from.the perspective of energy storage technology, which has drawn m.re and m.re attention to creating high-perform.nce electrode system.. Dy2O3 is a rare earth oxide having a num.er of advanced applications in various fields including protective or antireflective coatings,m.in objective of this novel research work is to check the effect of Cr and Cu addition on different properties of Dy2O3 and achievem.nt of antireflective thin film. with enhanced abso *** film. of these m.terials we re deposited using DC m.gnetron with reactive *** studies reveals the crystalline nature of thin film. having Dy2O3(222)reflection in all sam.les with Cr2O3(116)and CuO(111)reflections in Cr and Cu containing *** em.ssion scanning electron m.croscopy dem.nstrates the hom.geneous deposition of thin film. with uniform.shape,size and distribution of *** index,extinction coefficient and absorption coefficient significantly increase while optical reflectance decreases with Cr and Cu m.diation corroborating an im.roved antireflective *** im.ginary part of dielectric constant is found to increase slightly with low tangent loss for Cr containing com.osition co nsidered favorable for energy storage applications.

Disposal and Use of Sewage on Agricultural Lands in Pakistan: A Review

Raw sewage is widely used on agricultural soils in urban areas of developing countries to m.et water shortages. Although it is a good source of plant nutrients, such sewage also increases the heavy m.tal load to soils, which m.y im.act the food chain. m.nagem.nt options for sewage contam.nated soils includes addition of nontoxic com.ounds such as lim., calcium.sulfate and organic m.tter, which form.insoluble m.tal com.lexes, thus reducing m.tal phytoavailability to plants. In this paper we review the variation in irrigation quality of sewage at different sites and its im.act on the quality of soils and vegetables. Although quality of sewage was highly variable at source, yet the effluent from.food industries was relatively safe for irrigation. In com.arison effluent sam.les collected from.textile, dyeing, calendaring, steel industry, hospitals and clinical laboratories, foundries and tanneries were hazardous with respect to soluble salts, sodium.adsorption ratio and heavy m.tals like zinc, copper, iron, m.nganese, nickel, cobalt and cadm.um. The sewage quality in m.in drains was better than that at the industry outlet, but was still not safe for irrigation. In general, higher accum.lation of m.tals in fruits and vegetable roots was recorded com.ared to that in plant leaves, Edible parts of vegetables （fruits and/or leaves） accum.lated m.tals m.re than the perm.ssible lim.ts despite the soils contained am.onium.bicarbonate diethylenetriam.nepentaacetie acid extractable m.tals within a safe range. In either case further scientific investigations are needed to ensure safe m.nagem.nt strategies. Cadm.um.appeared to be the m.st threatening m.tal especially in leafy vegetables. It is advisable to avoid leafy vegetables cultivation in sewage irrigated areas everywhere to restrict its entry into food chain.

The separate spin evolution quantum.hydrodynam.cs(SSE-QHD)m.del is used to investigate the energy behavior for ion acoustic waves in degenerate quantum.*** results show that the energy flow speed decreases with spin polarization *** is also shown that it decreases with the increasing rate up to a certain range of wave num.er and then it goes to zero *** is observed that Bohm.potential suppresses the energy flow *** is also noticed that the energy flow speed deviates from.the group velocity even in the absence of Bohm.potential ***,the contribution of of Bohm.poential effect in spin polarized plasm. reduces the extent of deviation.

Laboratory scale studies on rem.val of chrom.um.from.industrial wastes

Chrom.um.being one of the m.jor toxic pollutants is discharged from.electroplating and chrom. tanning processes and is also found in the effluents of dyes, paint pigm.nts, m.nufacturing units etc. Chrom.um.exists in aqueous system. in both trivalent (Cr 3+) and hexavalent (Cr 6+) form.. The hexavalent form.is carcinogenic and toxic to aquatic life, whereas Cr 3+ is however com.aratively less toxic. This study was undertaken to investigate the total chrom.um.rem.val from.industrial effluents by chem.cal m.ans in order to achieve the Pakistan NEQS level of 1 m./L by the m.thods of reduction and precipitation. The study was conducted in four phases. In phase Ⅰ, the optim.m.pH and cost effective reducing agent am.ng the four popular com.ercial chem.cals was selected. As a result, pH of 2 was found to be m.st suitable and sodium.m.ta bisulfate was found to be the m.st cost effective reducing agent respectively. Phase Ⅱ showed that lower dose of sodium.m.ta bisulfate was sufficient to obtain 100 % efficiency in reducing Cr 6+ to Cr 3+, and it was noted that reaction tim. had no significance in the whole process. A design curve for reduction process was established which can act as a tool for treatm.nt of industrial effluents. Phase Ⅲ studies indicated the best pH was 8.5 for precipitation of Cr 3+ to chrom.um.hydroxide by using lim.. An efficiency of 100 % was achievable and a settling tim. of 30 m.nutes produced clear effluent. Finally in Phase Ⅳ actual waste sam.les from.chrom. tanning and electroplating industries, when precipitated at pH of 12 gave 100 % efficiency at a settling tim. of 30 m.nutes and confirm.d that chem.cal m.ans of reduction and precipitation is a feasible and viable solution for treating chrom.um.wastes from.industries.

Glow discharge plasm. nitriding of AISI 304 austenitic stainless steel has been carried out for different processing tim. under optim.m.discharge conditions established by spectroscopic analysis. The treated sam.les were analysed by X-ray diffraction （XRD） to explore the changes induced in the crystallographic structure. The XRD pattern confirm.d the form.tion of an expanded austenite phase （TN） owing to incorporation of nitrogen as an interstitial solid solution in the iron lattice. A Vickers m.crohardness tester was used to evaluate the surface hardness as a function of indentation depth （μm.. The results showed clear evidence of surface changes with substantial increase in surface hardness.

Effect of Co substitution on the structural,electrical,and m.gnetic properties of Bi_(0.9)La_(0.1)FeO_3 by sol-gel synthesis

Cobalt （Co）-doped ***3 m.ltiferroics were synthesized by a sol-gel m.thod based on the auto- com.ustion technique. As-synthesized powder was exam.ned using various characterization techniques to explore the effect of Co substitution on the properties of Bi0.9La0.1FeO3. X-ray diffraction reveals that Co-doped Bi0.9La0.1FeO3 preserves the perovskite-type rhom.ohedral structure of BiFeO3, and the com.osition without Co preserves the original structure of the phase; however, a second-phase Bi2Fe409 has been identified in all other com.ositions. Surface m.rphological studies were perform.d by scanning electron m.croscopy. Tem.erature-dependent resistivity of the sam.les reveals the characteristic insulating behavior of the m.ltiferroic m.terial. The resistivity is found to decrease with the increase both in tem.erature and Co content. Room.tem.erature frequency-dependent dielectric m.asurem.nts were also reported. m.gnetic m.asurem.nts show the enhancem.nt in m.gnetization with the increase in Co content.
