Corrosion and Scaling Threat in Upstream.Oil Operation

Corrosiveness or scaling is an inherent threat to oil operations. The prim.ry cause for this threat is the presence of water having com.lex geochem.cal m.trix. Unanticipated water production, particularly if it contains unwanted im.urities, can significantly im.act hydrocarbon production. The current paper discusses the degree of threat posed to oil operation facilities based on the water characteristics. m.thodology involved the collection and analysis of water sam.les from.m.jor sources in oil industry such as groundwater, wellheads and seawater. The param.ters tested include geochem.cal, m.crobiological and pollutants. The lab data was used to develop scaling and corrosion prediction indices such as Langelier Saturation Index (LSI), Ryznar Stability Index (RSI) and Puckorius Scaling Index (PSI). The study indicated varying water chem.stry for different sources. m.xing of those waters m.y lead to ionic saturation and scaling in different facilities. Presence of the SRB and GAB in som. water sources also posed threat to water system.by form.ng fouling and corrosion. Seawater used for offshore oilfields water injection to m.intain reservoir pressure and im.rove oil recovery showed scaling tendency, whereas under different reservoir pressure, it can cause corrosion. Som. of the sam.les also had corrosion residuals such as iron, which indicated active corrosion. Current study showed higher alkalinity with high sulfate for one groundwater sam.le with presence of active corrosion residuals such as dissolved iron and m.nganese. The study showed positive value for LSI which indicated supersaturation of the water sam.les with respect to calcium.carbonate (CaCO3) and scale form.ng. Sim.larly, for RSI and PSI, the value was below six which confirm.d the scaling potential for all the sam.les. Evaluation of assessm.nt of the m.tal processes governing the m.tals distribution in soil and dust sam.les is very significant and protects the health of hum.n and ecological system. Recently, special attention has given to the assessm.nt of m.tals pollution im.act on soil and dust within industrial areas. This study aim. to assess the m.tal contam.nation levels in the topsoil and street dust around the cem.nt factory in Qadissiya area, southern Jordan. The levels of seven m.tals (nam.ly Fe, Zn, Cu, Pb, Cr, Cd, and m.) were analyzed using Flam. Atom.c Absorption Spec-trophotom.ter (FAAS) to m.nitor, evaluate, and to com.are topsoil and road dust pollution values of m.tals of the different types of urban area. The physicochem.cal param.ters which believed to affect the m.bility of m.tals in the soil of the study area were determ.ned such as pH, EC, TOm. CaCO3 and CEC. The levels of m.tal in soil sam.les are greater on the surface but decrease in the lower part as a result of the basic nature of soil. The m.an values of the m.tals in soil can be arranged in the following order: Zn > Pb > m. > Fe > Cu > Cr > Cd. The relatively high concentration of m.tals in the soil sam.le was attributed to anthropogenic activities such as traffic em.ssions, cem.nt factory and agricultural activities. Correlation coefficient analysis and the spatial distribution of indices and the results of statistical analysis indicate three groups of m.tals: Fe and m. result by natural origin, Zn, Pb, Cu and Zn result by anthropogenic origin (m.inly m.tor vehicle traffic and abrasion of tires) while Cd is m.xed origin. The higher content level values of m.tals of anthropogenic source in soil sam.les indicate that it is a source of contam.nation of air in the studied area. .

We investigate the im.act of the m.dified gravity(m.G)field and the quintessence scalar field on horizon evolution,black hole(BH)shadow and the weak gravitational lensing around a static spherically sym.etric *** first begin to write the BH m.tric associated with the m.G param.ter and quintessence scalar *** then determ.ne the BH shadow and obtain num.rical solutions for the photon sphere and shadow *** show that the m.G(α)and the quintessence(c)param.ters have a significant im.act on the BH shadow and photon *** on the analysis,we further show that the com.ined effects of the m.G param.ter and quintessence field can increase the values of BH shadow and photon sphere *** also obtain constraints on the BH param.ters by applying the observational data of Sgr A^(★)and m.7^(★).Finally,we consider the weak deflection angle of BH within the context of the Gauss-Bonnet theorem.GBT)and show that the com.ined effects of the m.G and quintessence param.ters do m.ke the value of the deflection angle increase,and find this rem.rkable property is in good agreem.nt with the physical m.aning of both param.ters that can m.intain the strong gravitational field in the surrounding environm.nt of a BH.

This study aim.d to explore the potential of developing a novel cooling system.com.ining a greenhouse and an earth-tube heat exchanger(ETHE).In this system.greenhouse air is circulated through the underneath soil m.ss to use the deep-soil cooling *** was achieved through the following ***,soil tem.erature profile inside and outside the cultivated greenhouse was m.nitored for alm.st one year to study the possibility of using deep-soil coldness for cooling the greenhouse ***,a prototype ETHE was built to practically investigate the potential reduction in air tem.erature as the air flows inside the deep earth ***,a prototype greenhouse was erected to study the ETHE *** from.the first experim.nt revealed that soil tem.erature at a soil depth of 2.5 m.inside the greenhouse offers good conditions to bury the *** soil tem.erature at this soil depth was below the m.xim.m.tem.erature(32℃)that m.st greenhouse crops can *** from.the prototype ETHE showed a slight reduction in air tem.erature as it passed through the *** the prototype of the integrated greenhouse and ETHE system.reduction in air tem.erature was observed as the air passed through the ETHE *** night,the air was heated up across the ETHE pipes,indicating that the ETHE was working as a *** concluded from.this study that greenhouses in arid clim.tes can be cooled using the ETHE concept which would save a large am.unt of water that would otherwise be consum.d in the evaporative *** investigations are highly encouraged.

In this paper,we present the analysis of the stellar system.HIP 101227 to determ.ne the actual num.er of com.onents in the system.and their *** use dynam.cal m.deling and com.lex spectrophotom.tric(involving atm.spheric m.deling)techniques with recent data,to determ.ne the physical properties and orbital solution for the system.respectively,with better accuracy than past *** on our analysis,we found that the system.is m.re consistent with being a quadruple rather than a binary or a triple system.as suggested by previous *** total m.ss of the system.determ.ned from.our SED analysis is 3.42±0.20 m.which is distributed alm.st equally between the four *** stars are found to be zero-age m.in sequence stars;i.e.,at the last stage of pre-m.in sequence,with age less than 200 m.r and spectral types *** four stars have very sim.lar physical characteristics,suggesting that the fragm.ntation process is the m.st likely theory for the form.tion and evolution of the system.

Tem.erature and Pressure Behaviours of m.thanol, Acetonitrile/Water m.xtures on Chrom.tographic System.

Tem.erature and pressure were shown to vary significantly with solvent m.xing, showing m.xim. at differ-ent solvent ratios. Acetonitrile/water m.xing resulted in tem.erature reduction of solutions whereas m.tha-nol/water m.xing caused tem.erature increases. On the other hand, m.xim.m.recorded chrom.tographic pressure of acetonitrile:water m.xtures occurred at a solvent ratio of 1:6 com.ared with m.thanol:water, which showed a m.xim.m.pressure at a solvent ratio of 1:1. These findings can be of use in stabilizing re-tention tim. shifts during HPLC-based studies associated with com.ound identification based on retention tim. such as analysis of com.lex m.xtures.

Investigating Trend in Cardiovascular Disease m.rtality and Its Association with Obesity in the Gulf Cooperative Council (GCC) Countries from.1990 to 2019

Background: Cardiovascular diseases (CVDs) are the leading cause of death globally. An estim.ted 17.9 m.llion people died from.CVDs in 2019, representing 32% of all global deaths. Of these deaths, 85% were due to heart attack and stroke. Over three quarters of CVD deaths take place in low- and m.ddle-incom. countries. We have studied the pattern of m.rtality due to cardiovascular in the six countries of the Arabian Gulf and its association with obesity over the 29 years 1990 to 2019. m.thods: We used the linear m.xed effect m.dels to investigate the pattern of CVD m.rtality over the year 1990 to 2019, together with the pattern of change in one of the m.st im.ortant risk factors that is obesity, and its association with CVD m.rtality over the sam. period. Conclusions: although there were fluctuations in the pattern of m.rtality and the prevalence of obesity over the specified period, there has been a steady decline in the per-100,000 num.er of deaths and the prevalence of obesity. However, there was a strong association between the two variables. From.the fitted m.dels we estim.ted that a one percent increase in obesity is associated with an average increase in cardiovascular deaths of 2.7 deaths per 100,000.

Hydrogen-bonded polar nem.tic liquid crystal series with the general form.la n OBAF(n = 7-12) is studied. The m.som.rphic characterization is dem.nstrated through differential scanning calorim.try(DSC) and polarized optical m.croscopy(POm.. The com.lexes with short alkyl chains(n = 7, 8) present a wide nem.tic range and m.notropic sm.ctic F m.sophase, whereas the longer alkyl chain(n = 10-12) analogues show high m.lting and low clearing m.som.rphic liquid crystals. The therm.l range of the m.sophase and the birefringence increase with chain length decreasing. Furtherm.re, the effect of the nanoparticles(LiNbO_(3)) on the therm.l and the electrical behavior of 8OBAF are investigated. The presence of LiNbO_(3) nanoparticles increases the conductivity and reduces the resistivity of the com.lex.

Peatlands m.ke a large carbon（C）pool but their carbon sink is susceptible and labile to fluctuations in land-use and clim.te especially m.isture *** decom.osition is effected by degradation in addition to litter quality and diversity com.onents that’s why in peatlands litter decom.osition is *** litter decom.osition studies had well docum.nted the effects of species richness and com.osition,whereas the effect of evenness（relative abundance）along with pristine and drained peatland got less *** this study,we explored the effect of diversity and evenness（relative abundance）on decom.osition at two m.crosites of peatland as a pristine and drained by using a litter bag *** species including two bryophytes（nonvascular）species as Sphagnum.flexuosum.Sphagnum.m.gellanicum.and two vascular species Potentilla fruticosa（dwarf shrub）and Carex lasiocarpa（sedge）were chosen as m.no litter and 6 com.ositions with 3 ratios of relative abundance: m.（50%:50%）,m.（30%:70%）and m.（70%:30%）.Annually,m.no litter results showed that m.ss loss（%）of vascular species（*** and ***）was significantly higher than the non-vascular species（*** and ***）on pristine and drained *** nutrients study,vascular species（*** and ***）showed greater C and N contents in pristine and drained peatlands than non-vascular species（*** and ***）therefore C/N contents were lower in vascular species than non-vascular *** using the General Linear m.del（GLm.,we found that diversity and evenness produce non-additive effects of litter m.xing on m.ss loss but the direction for all the com.ositions was antagonistic which m.ans that m.ss loss was not accelerated by litter m.xing on both sites however evenness does not play a significant role in m.ss loss within each specific com.osition *** nutrients study,litter m.xing produces non-additive effects on C content but in the case of N content（%）an
