用吖啶磺快速致弱的猪丹毒杆菌 Koganei 65—0.15菌株(血清型2)制备的培养物滤过液疫苗,皮下接种小鼠和猪,然后用18个血清型和 N 型的猪丹毒杆菌20个致病菌株攻毒。免疫小鼠攻毒后全部存活的血清型有1 b、2、8(Goda 株)和 N 型;20～30%死亡的有1 a、11、12、15、16和21型;40—50%死亡的有4、5、6、7和8(911株)型;60～80%死亡的有9、10、18和19型;以2553株(血清型20)攻毒后免疫鼠全部死亡,所有菌株攻击未免疫对照小鼠后全部死亡。

Effects of heavy,repeated bark stripping by Cervus nippon on survival of Abies veitchii in a subalpine coniferous forest in central Japan

The management of deer impacts on forested lands requires quantification of the negative factors(e.g.,bark stripping)on tree survival in relation to other ecological variables(e.g.,competition from neighboring trees).This study measured the effects of bark stripping by sika deer,Cervus nippon,and competition among trees on the survival of Abies veitchii in a subalpine coniferous forest in central Japan over 12 *** of the trees subjected to bark stripping by deer were small(65%of the stem circumference stripped)were severely *** effect on longevity for each tree after bark stripping was explained by maximum bark stripping intensity during the study period,rather than initial bark stripping ***>85%of the stem circumference had been stripped,survival rates *** stripping influenced survival rates much more than competition from neighboring *** bark stripping occurred repeatedly,frequent measurements are important to grasp the full effects caused by this *** bark stripping of a stem enhances tree ***,management of bark stripping is an essential element of stand maintenance and species composition in subalpine coniferous forests in Japan.

Susceptible conditions for debarking by deer in subalpine coniferous forests in central Japan

Background： Recently, deer have expanded their distribution to higher altitude ranges including subalpine forests However, culling deer and construction of deer fence in subalpine forests are difficult because of steep slopes and complex topography. Thus it is necessary to clarify the factors which are associated with debarking by deer for the effective protection of subalpine forests. In this study, we examined which factors are associated with debarking b： sika deer （Cervus nippon） in subalpine coniferous forests. Methods： We conducted our survey in Minami-Alps National Park, central Japan. We established 24 10 m × 40 m plots and surveyed the occurrence of debarking on saplings 〉30 cm in height and 〈3 cm in diameter at breast heigh （DBH） and on trees 〉3 cm in DBH, as well as sapling density within each plot. Minimum distances to nearest grasslan（ of plots were calculated （tentatively assuming grassland would attract deer and would cause high debarking pressure in the surrounding subaipine forests）. Results： The mean percentage of debarked live saplings was higher than that of live trees. The mean percentage of debarked saplings which had already died was 81.6 %. Debarking of saplings increased with lower elevation taller sapling size, and marginally increased near grassland. Sapling density was lower in plots with low basa area of conspecific trees near grassland and differed among species. Sapling density marginally decreased with decreasing elevation and increasing stand tree density. Debarking of trees was positively related to small DBH and Io~ elevation, and marginally increased near grassland and differed among species. Conclusions： Our results suggest that tall saplings in subalpine forests of low elevation or near subalpine grassland were susceptible to debarking by deer and monitoring of these areas may permit the early detection of the impacts of deer in subalpine coniferous forests.

This paper addresses the conservation laws in finite brittle solids with microcracks. The discussion is limited to the 2-D cases. First, after considering the combination of the Pseudo-Traction Method and the indirect Boundary Element Method, a versatile method for solving multi-crack interacting problems in finite plane solids is proposed, by which the fracture parameters （SIF and path-independent integrals） can be calculated with a desirable accuracy. Second, with the aid of the method proposed, the roles the conservation laws play in the fracture analysis for finite microcracking solids are studied. It is concluded that the conservation laws do play important roles in not only the fracture analysis but also the analysis of damage and stability for the finite microcracking system. Finally, the physical interpretation of the M-integral is discussed further. An explicit relation between the M-integral and the crack face area, i.e., M = GS, has been discovered using the analytical method, which can shed some light on the Damage Mechanics issues from a different perspective.

In this study,we demonstrate a technique termed underwater persistent bubble assisted femtosecond laser ablation in liquids(UPB-fs-LAL)that can greatly expand the boundaries of surface micro/nanostructuring through laser ablation because of its capability to create concentric circular macrostructures with millimeter-scale tails on silicon ***-tailed macrostructures are composed of layered fan-shaped(central angles of 45°–141°)hierarchical micro/nanostructures,which are produced by fan-shaped beams refracted at the mobile bubble interface(.50°light tilt,referred to as the vertical incident direction)during UPB-fs-LAL line-by-line *** flow generated during UPB-fs-LAL induces bubble *** scanning(e.g.1mms−1)allows a long bubble movement(as long as 2mm),while slow scanning(e.g.0.1mms−1)prevents bubble *** persistent bubbles grow considerably(*** of microns in diameter)due to incubation effects,they become sticky and can cause both gas-phase and liquidphase laser ablation in the central and peripheral regions of the persistent *** generates low/high/ultrahigh spatial frequency laser-induced periodic surface structures(LSFLs/HSFLs/UHSFLs)with periods of 550–900,100–200,40–100 nm,which produce complex hierarchical surface structures.A period of 40 nm,less than 1/25th of the laser wavelength(1030 nm),is the finest laser-induced periodic surface structures(LIPSS)ever created on *** NIR-MIR reflectance/transmittance of fan-shaped hierarchical structures obtained by UPB-fs-LAL at a small line interval(5μm versus 10μm)is extremely low,due to both their extremely high light trapping capacity and absorbance characteristics,which are results of the structures’additional layers and much finer *** the absence of persistent bubbles,only grooves covered with HSFLs with periods larger than 100 nm are produced,illustrating the unique attenuation abilities of laser properties(*** rate,energy,inciden

Rotation of a pair of wings was driven by the vertical harmonic motion of a pin inserted into the center hole of the *** elucidate the mechanism by which the rotational motion of the wings was excited,the relationship between the wings and the pin was examined by tracking their motions using both displacement measurements and high-speed *** motion modes occurred in this study were categorized into five types:slipping,rolling,jumping(without eccentricity),jumping(with eccentricity),and *** the case that the hole of the wings was located at a distance from the center of the wings,referred to as″with eccentricity,″the slipping,jumping(with eccentricity),and non-rotation modes *** experimental results showed that the mechanism of the jumping(with eccentricity)was different from that of the other modes(slipping,rolling,jumping(without eccentricity)),which are well known to be driven by the periodical reaction of the wings against the vertical vibration of the *** was found that the jumping(with eccentricity)was driven by the non-periodical force with the collision between the wing hole and the pin.

Aims a better understanding of wood litter decomposition is essential for predicting responses of forest ecosystems to global climate *** studies suggest that chemical properties of wood litters,rather than physical ones such as wood density,are more important for inter-specific differences in wood decomposition ***,empirical data are still limited,especially for tropical *** addition,decom-position rate of wood litter often varies with time,which makes inter-specific comparison *** studied the wood decomposition of 32 rainforest trees to elucidate(i)the degree of interspecific variation in wood decomposition rate of a given size and configuration and(ii)if initial wood density and water permeability are consistent predictors of the overall decomposition rate and its pattern over *** a common garden decomposition experiment was conducted in a tropical rainforest in malaysian borneo for 32 native tree *** wood sticks were set on the forest floor and the weight loss was monitored monthly for 2.7 *** Findings We found large variation in the wood decomposition rate(a 49-fold range),suggesting that we need to consider this variation when cal-culating community-level carbon dynamics of tropical rain *** physical traits of wood,*** density and water permeability,were related to wood decomposition rate and its pattern over *** half-time related positively and negatively to initial wood density and water permeability,*** time-dependentrate model fitted better for 18 species(56%of the study species)that had higher water permeabilities than the others,suggesting that micelle porosity in wood relates to temporal changes in decomposition rate.
