The ground and excited state calculations at key geometries, such as the Frank–Condon (FC) and the conical intersection (CI)geometries, are essential for understanding photophysical properties. To compute these geometries on noisy intermediate-scalequantum devices, we proposed a strategy that combined a chemistry-inspired spin-restricted ansatz and a new excited statecalculation method called the variational quantum eigensolver under automatically-adjusted constraints (VQE/AC). Unlike theconventional excited state calculation method, called the variational quantum deflation, the VQE/AC does not require the pre-determination of constraint weights and has the potential to describe smooth potential energy surfaces. To validate this strategy,we performed the excited state calculations at the FC and CI geometries of ethylene and phenol blue at the complete active spaceself-consistent field (CASSCF) level of theory, and found that the energy errors were at most 2 kcal mol−1 even on the ibm_kawasakidevice.

A novel technique to determine the position of spacecraft orbits is proposed. The technique is based on the cross-correlation function of HF SAR images and is able to determine the relative position of orbits with an accuracy of - λ/4 or better, where 2 is the wavelength of the HF radar pulse at its center frequency. The performance of the proposed technique was confirmed by simulation which was carried out under the condition of design facts of the SELENE LRS mission. The highly accurate orbit positioning enables precise superposition of HF SAR images so that the inherent mirror image ambiguity problem of HF SAR imaging is resolved to obtain a quality SAR image of the HF band. In addition ambitious 2D-SAR processing would be possible when the above accuracy is available.

A quantum chemistry study of the first singlet(S_(1))and triplet(T_(1))excited states of phenylsulfonyl-carbazole compounds,proposed as useful thermally activated delayed fluorescence(TADF)emitters for organic light emitting diode(OLED)applications,was performed with the quantum Equation-Of-Motion Variational Quantum Eigensolver(qEOM-VQE)and Variational Quantum Deflation(VQD)algorithms on quantum simulators and *** quantum simulations were performed with double zeta quality basis sets on an active space comprising the highest occupied and lowest unoccupied molecular orbitals(HOMO,LUMO)of the TADF *** differences in energy separations between S_(1) and T_(1)(ΔEST)predicted by calculations on quantum simulators were found to be in excellent agreement with experimental *** of 17 and 88 mHa with respect to exact energies were found for excited states by using the qEOM-VQE and VQD algorithms,respectively,to perform simulations on quantum devices without error *** utilizing state tomography to purify the quantum states and correct energy values,the large errors found for unmitigated results could be improved to differences of,at most,4 mHa with respect to exact ***,excellent agreement could be found between values ofΔEST predicted by quantum simulations and those found in experiments.

Adipose-derived mesenchymal stem cells （ADSCs） are a treatment cell source for patients with chronic liver injury. ADSCs are characterized by being harvested from the patient’s own subcutaneous adipose tissue, a high cell yield （ i.e. , reduced immune rejection res-ponse）, accumulation at a disease nidus, suppression of excessive immune response, production of various growth factors and cytokines, angiogenic effects, anti-apoptotic effects, and control of immune cells via cell-cell interaction. We previously showed that conditioned medium of ADSCs promoted hepatocyte proliferation and improved the liver function in a mouse model of acute liver failure. Furthermore, as found by many other groups, the administration of ADSCs improved liver tissue fbrosis in a mouse model of liver cirrhosis. A comprehensive protein expression analysis by liquid chromatography with tandem mass spectrometry show-ed that the various cytokines and chemokines produced by ADSCs promote the healing of liver disease. In this review, we examine the ability of expressed protein com-ponents of ADSCs to promote healing in cell therapy for liver disease. Previous studies demonstrated that ADSCs are a treatment cell source for patients with chronic liver injury. This review describes the various cytokines and chemokines produced by ADSCs that promote the healing of liver disease.

Controlling the immune response with only clinically approved immunosuppressant drugs is difficult in renal heterotra ns plantation from pigs to nonhuman ***,to the best of our knowledge,no reports exist on the use of fetal pigs as kidney *** study aimed to compare the degree of transplant rejection between neonatal and fetal kidneys,with genetically unmodified pigs as donors and cynomolgus monkeys as *** left kidneys of the recipient monkeys were removed,followed by transplantation of neonatal as well as fetal pig kidneys,which had undergone vascular anastomosis at the same site,into the *** was performed with only US Food and Drug Administration-approved *** fetal kidneys were transplanted into the omentum and paraaortic regions of cynomolgus ***,the engraftment and development of the transplanted tissues were pathologically examined by sampling over time(twice in each experiment).An acute rejection was observed after a few weeks in neonatal renal grafts with vascular ***,fetal pig kidneys were spared from rejection despite the administration of the same immunosuppressive protocol to the monkeys and the recipient blood vessels flowing into the fetal *** immunogenicity of fetal kidneys in pig-monkey renal heterotransplantation was lower than that of neonatal kidneys.

AIM： To examine the influence of lipoprotein lipase （LPL） gene polymorphism in ulcerative colitis （UC） patients.METHODS： Peripheral blood was obtained from 131 patients with UC and 106 healthy controls for DNA extraction. We determined LPL gene polymorphisms affecting the enzyme at Ser447stop, as well as Hind Ⅲ and Pvu Ⅱ polymorphisms using PCR techniques. PCR products were characterized by PCR-RFLP and direct sequencing. Polymorphisms were examined for association with clinical features in UC patients. Genotype frequencies for LPL polymorphisms were also compared between UC patients and controls.RESULTS： In patients with onset at age 20 years or younger, C/G and G/G genotypes for Ser447stop polymorphism were more prevalent than C/C genotype （OR = 3.13, 95% CI = 0.95-10.33）. Patients with H^＋/- or H^-/- genotype for Hind Ⅲ polymorphism also were more nu merous than those with H^＋/＋ genotype （OR = 2.51, 95% CI = 0.85-7.45）. In the group with H^＋/＋ genotype for Hind Ⅲ polymorphism, more patients had serum triglyceride concentrations over 150 mg/dL than patients with H^＋/- or H^- genotype （P 〈 0.01, OR = 6.46, 95% CI = 1.39-30.12）. Hypertriglycemia was also more prevalent in patients with P^＋/＋ genotypes for Pvu Ⅱ polymorphism （P 〈 0.05, OR = 3.0, 95% CI = 1.06-8.50）. Genotype frequency for LPL polymorphism did not differ significantly between UC patients and controls.

AIM:To evaluate the efficacy of pegylated interferon α-2b(peg-IFNα-2b) plus ribavirin(RBV) therapy in Japanese patients with chronic hepatitis C(CHC) genotype Ib and a high viral ***:One hundred and twenty CHC patients(58.3% male) who received peg-IFNα-2b plus RBV therapy for 48 wk were *** virological response(SVR) and clinical parameters were ***:One hundred(83.3%) of 120 patients completed 48 wk of treatment.53 patients(44.3%) achieved *** virological response(EVR) and end of treatment response(ETR) rates were 50% and 73.3%,*** clinical parameters(SVR vs non-SVR) associated with SVR,ALT(108.4 IU/L vs 74.5 IU/L,P = 0.063),EVR(76.4% vs 16.4%,P 56 years),SVR in females was significantly lower than that in males(17% vs 50%,P = 0.0262).EVR and adherence to Peg-IFN were demonstrated to be the main factors associated with ***:Peg-IFNα-2b plus RBV combination therapy demonstrated good tolerability in Japanese patients with CHC and resulted in a SVR rate of 44.3%.Treatment of elderly female patients is still challenging and maintenance of adherence to peg-IFNα-2b is important in improving the SVR rate.

BACKGROUND Endoscopic papillectomy(EP) for benign ampullary neoplasms could be a lessinvasive alternative to pancreatoduodenectomy(PD). There are some problems and limitations with EP. The post-EP resection margins of ampullary tumors are often positive or uncertain because of the burning effect of EP. The clinical outcomes of resected margin positive or uncertain cases after EP remain *** To investigate the clinical outcomes of resected margin positive or uncertain cases after *** Between January 2007 and October 2018, all patients with ampullary tumors who underwent EP at Kobe University Hospital were included in this study. The indications for EP were as follows: adenoma, as determined by preoperative endoscopic biopsy, without bile/pancreatic duct extension, according to endoscopic ultrasound or intraductal ultrasound. The clinical outcomes of resected margin positive or uncertain cases after EP were retrospectively *** Of the 45 patients, 29 were male, and 16 were female. The mean age of the patients was 65 years old. Forty-one patients(89.5%) underwent en bloc resection,and 4 patients(10.5%) underwent piecemeal resection. After EP, 33 tumors were histopathologically diagnosed as adenoma, and 12 were diagnosed as adenocarcinoma. The resected margins were positive or uncertain in 24 patients(53.3%). Of these cases, 15 and 9 were diagnosed as adenoma and adenocarcinoma, respectively. Follow-up observation was selected for all adenomas and 5 adenocarcinomas. In the remaining 4 adenocarcinoma cases,additional PD was performed. Additional PD was performed in 4 cases, and residual carcinoma was found after the additional PD in 1 of these cases. In the follow-up period, local tumor recurrence was detected in 3 cases. Two of these cases involved primary EP-diagnosed adenoma. The recurrent tumors were also adenomas detected by biopsy. Denoising Projection Data with a Robust Adaptive Bilateral Filter in Low-Count SPECT

Low-count SPECT images are well known to be smoothed strongly by a Butterworth filter for statistical noise reduction. Reconstructed images have a low signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) and spatial resolution because of the removal of high-frequency signal components. Using the developed robust adaptive bilateral filter (RABF), which was designed as a pre-stage filter of the Butterworth filter, this study was conducted to improve SNR without degrading the spatial resolution for low-count SPECT imaging. The filter can remove noise while preserving spatial resolution. To evaluate the proposed method, we extracted SNR and spatial resolution in a phantom study. We also conducted paired comparison for visual image quality evaluation in a clinical study. Results show that SNR was increased 1.4 times without degrading the spatial resolution. Visual image quality was improved significantly (p < 0.01) for clinical low-count data. Moreover, the accumulation structure became sharper. A structure embedded in noise emerged. Our method, which denoises without degrading the spatial resolution for low-count SPECT images, is expected to increase the effectiveness of diagnosis for low-dose scanning and short acquisition time scanning.

Brown alga (Undaria pinnatifida) was treated with alginate lyase and hydrolyzed using 17 kinds of proteases andthe inhibitory activity of the hydrolysates for the angiotensin-I-converting enzyme (ACE) was measured. Four hydrolysateswith potent ACE-inhibitory activity were administered singly and orally to spontaneously hypertensive rats (SHRs). The sys-tolic blood pressure of SHRs decreases significantly after single oral administration of the brown alga hydrolysates by pro-tease S ’Amano’ (from Bacillus stearothermophilus) at the concentration of 10 (mg protein) (kg body weight)-1. In the 17weeks of feeding experiment, 7-week-old SHRs were fed standard diet supplemented with the brown alga hydrolysates for 10weeks. In SHRs fed 1.0 and 0.1% brown alga hydrolysates, elevating of systolic bloodpressure was significantly suppressedfor 7 weeks. To elucidate the active components, the brown alga hydrolysates were fractionated by 1-butanol extraction andHPLC on a reverse-phase column. Seven kinds of ACE-inhibitory peptides were isolated and identified by amino acid compo-sition analysis, sequence analysis, and LC-MS with the results Val-Tyr, Ile-Tyr, Ala-Trp, Phe-Tyr, Val-Trp, Ile-Trp, andLeu-Trp. Each peptide was determined to have an antihypertensive effect after a single oral administration in SHRs. Thebrown alga hydrolysates were also confirmed to decrease the blood pressure in humans.
