BACKGROUND Postoperative aortobronchial fistula(ABF)is a rare complication that can occur in 0.3%-5.0%of patients over an extended period of time after thoracic aortic *** visualization of the fistula via imaging is *** To investigate the relationship between computed tomography(CT)findings and the clinical signs/symptoms of ABF after thoracic aortic *** Six patients(mean age 71 years,including 4 men and 2 women)with suspected ABF on CT(air around the graft)at our hospital were included in this retrospective study between January 2004 and September *** CT findings included direct confirmation of ABF,peri-graft fluid,ring enhancement,dirty fat sign,atelectasis,pulmonary hemorrhage,and bronchodilation,and the clinical course were retrospectively *** proportion of each type of CT finding was *** ABF detection after surgery was found to have a mean and median of 14 and 13 years,*** signs and symptoms were asymptomatic in 4 patients,bloody sputum was found in 1 patient,and fever was present in 1 *** complications of ABF included graft infection in 2 patients and graft infection with hemoptysis in 2 *** the 6 patients,3 survived,2 died,and 1 was lost to *** locations of the ABFs were as follows:1 in the ascending aorta;1 in the aortic arch;2 in the aortic arch leading to the descending aorta;and 2 in the descending *** were directly confirmed by CT in 4/6(67%)***-graft dirty fat(4/6,67%)and peri-graft ring enhancement(3/6,50%)were associated with graft infection,endoleaks and pseudoaneurysms were associated with hemoptysis(2/6,33%).CONCLUSION Asymptomatic ABF after thoracic aortic surgery can be confirmed on chest *** is useful for the diagnosis of ABF and its complications.

Material conversion from paper sludge ash （PSA） in NaOH solution was attempted to synthesize the adsorbent for removal of inorganic pollutants, such as Pb^2＋, NH^4＋ and PO4^3- from aqueous solution. PSA of 0.5 g was added into 10 mL of 3 mol/L NaOH solution, and then heated at 80, 120, and 160℃ for 6-48 hr to obtain the product. PSA mainly composed of two crystalline phases, gehlenite （Ca2Al2SiO7） and anorthite （CaAl2Si2O8）, and amorphous phase. Hydroxysodalite （Na6Al6Si6O24-8H2O） was formed at 80℃, and anorthite dissolved, whereas gehlenite remained unaffected. Katoite （Ca3Al2SiO4（OH）8） was formed over 120℃, and hydroxycancrinite （Nas（OH）2Al6Si6O24·2H2O） was formed at 160℃, due to the dissolution of both gehlenite and anorthite. Specific surface areas of the products were almost same and were higher than that of raw ash. Cation exchange capacities （CECs） of the products were also higher than that of raw ash, and CEC obtained at lower temperature was higher. Removal abilities of products for Pb^2＋, NH4＋, and PO4^3- were higher than that of raw ash. With increasing reaction temperature, the removal efficiencies of Pb^2＋ and NH4＋ decreased due to the decrease of CEC of the product, while removal efficiency for PO4^3- was almost same. The concentrations of Si and AI in the solution and the crystalline phases in the solid during the reaction explain the formation of the product phases at each temperature.

We discuss a linear seesaw model with a field content as minimum as possible,introducing a modular S_(4)using gauged U(1)_(B−L) *** to the rank two neutrino mass matrix,we obtain a vanishing neutrino mass eigenvalue,and only the normal mass hierarchy of neutrinos is favored via the modular S_(4)*** our numericalΔχ^(2)analysis,we especially determine a relatively sharp prediction on the sum of neutrino masses to be approximately 60 meV,in addition to other predictions.

The study aims to evaluate the potential of GHG （greenhouse gas） reductions by installing an anaerobic digester in a wastewater treatment facility in Southeast Asia. Then the break-even point of additional investment to reduce GHG is obtained by exchanging carbon price as emissions credits. In the project scenario, the wastewater treatment system has the digester, where methane （biogas） is produced and recovered. Compared with the baseline scenario, the biogas has calorific value to produce heat and electricity, and can substitute fossil fuels for power generation. The objective of the study is to define the relationship between CERs （certified emission reductions） and investment costs, and the beak-even point, finding out the dominant pa- rameters in the system. Financial parameters such as capital costs and operating costs are considered to evaluate the investmerit costs. The result shows that the methane recovery reduces 54% of GHG emissions. Although the substitution of the biogas for the fossil fuels reduces only 6% of the GHG emissions, the electricity output can satisfy the electricity consumption. The results also show that the maximum CER credit is 73000 t-COEe/a, and the GHG reduction cost is 14 USD/t-CO2e.

In order to elucidate the broadband noise of fan,the numerical simulation of fan operating at two different rotational speeds is carried out using the three-dimensional unsteady Reynolds-averaged Navier-Stokes (URANS) *** computed results are compared to experiment to estimate its accuracy and are found to show good agreement with experiment.A method is proposed to evaluate the turbulent kinetic energy in the framework of the Spalart-Allmaras one equation turbulence *** the calculation results,the turbulent kinetic energy is visualized as the turbulence of the flow which leads to generate the broadband noise,and its noise sources are identified.

2011年东日本大地震后,校舍建筑的抗震加固变得极为迫切。针对日本某校舍建筑的抗震加固工程展开计算分析及实验研究。首先阐述既有校舍建筑的结构特征及抗震鉴定结果,提出纵向采用钢支撑框架提高强度,首层横向新设剪力墙以及增厚楼梯间楼板的加固方案。随后,利用无线振动测试系统在校舍建筑抗震加固前后进行常时微动测试实验,分别从整体与局部角度分析加固前后校舍建筑加速度响应、固有周期以及振型等参数变化。最后,对比分析有限元计算及测试结果,阐述抗震加固方法及位置对原有建筑的性能影响,验证抗震加固方法的有效性。结果表明:采用钢支撑框架的加固方法有效提高既有校舍建筑的强度,加固后加速度响应值约降低至加固前的1/3,加固方法起到提高整体强度、改善刚度分布及结构整体性作用;固有周期以及加速度响应放大倍率的变化与该校舍抗震加固方法较吻合,表明基于振动测试的研究方法能够有效评估抗震加固措施的效果。研究成果可为既有校舍建筑的抗震加固方案选取及性能评估提供参考。

The Al-Zn eutectoid alloy has been widely known as a typical superplastic metallic material, where fine-grained microstructure is usually obtained by heat treatment. Recently, thermo-mechanical controlled process has also been reported to provide a fine-grained microstructure. In the present study, Al-Zn alloy ingots of 20 mm in thickness were homogenized and hot-rolled to a thickness of 2 mm under three processes： 1） the specimen was air-cooled after homogenization and hot-rolled; 2） the specimen was water-quenched after homogenization and hot-rolled; 3） the specimen was immediately hot-rolled after homogenization. Microstructural observation showed that, in processes l and 3, lamellar microstructure was formed after homogenization, and became fragmented to fine-grained microstructure as the hot roiling process proceeded. In process 2, fine-grained microstructure without lamellar microstructure was attained throughout the hot-rolling process. A minimum grain size of 1.6 μm was obtained in process 3. Tensile tests at room temperature showed that the elongation to failure was the largest in process 3.

Heavy metal removal from aqueous solution using carbonaceous K_2S-impregnated adsorbent

A novel carbonaceous adsorbent for heavy metal removal was prepared from raw coal by one-step simple sulfur impregnation using K2S. Raw coal was mixed with K2S powder and then heated at 800℃ for 30 min in nitrogen to produce K2S char. The sulfur content and form in K2S char were determined, and the ability of K2S char to adsorb Zn^2＋, Cd^2＋ and Pb^2＋ was examined. The K2S impregnation was effective at impregnating sulfur into coal, especially in the form of elemental, thiophenic and sulfatic sulfur. The sulfur content of K2S char was higher than those of raw coal and pyrolysis char. The Zn^2＋ removal in 2.4 mmol/L of Zn^2＋ solution by K2S char was higher than raw coal with the removal rate of 100%. K2S char adsorbed Pb^2＋ and Cd^2＋ in 24 mmol/L of Pb^2＋ and Cd^2＋ solution with the removal rate of 97% and 35%, respectively. The elution extents of adsorbed Pb^2＋ and Cd^2＋ were zero in distilled water and 27% in 0.1 mol/L HCl solution. These results indicated that an effective adsorbent for heavy metal ions was prepared from coal using K2S sulfur impregnation, and that the adsorbed metals were strongly retained in K2S char.
