Introduction: Severe acute respiratory syndrom. coronavirus2 (SARS-CoV-2) represents a m.jor health problem.worldwide. Thus, early detection and appropriate m.nagem.nt of the virus will influence the outcom. of the disease. This study aim.d to investigate the epidem.ological characteristics and survival outcom.s of patients with COVID-19 infection in Kassala, Eastern Sudan. m.thods: A cross-sectional hospital-study was conducted am.ng patients visiting Kassala teaching hospital with suspicion of COVID-19 infection. A structured questionnaire was used to gather clinical and socio-dem.- graphic inform.tion from.COVID-19 patients. Nasopharyngeal specim.ns and blood sam.les were collected and tested to confirm.the diagnosis of COVID-19 infection using RT-PCR. Results: A total of 371 patients were enrolled in the study from.Septem.er 2020 to January 2021, with m.an age ± SD was 42.9 ± 19.9. The prevalence of COVID-19 infection was estim.ted at 61.7%. The m.jority were m.les 159 (69.4%), of university-level education, 96 (49.7%), and urban residents, 175 (9.7%). The m.st com.on sym.tom. were fever 215 (93.9%), cough 188 (82.1%), headache 179 (78.2%), and shortness of breath 154 (67.2%). Overall all m.rtality was reported as 16%. Older age group with the age ≥ 70, P P = 0.020, diabetes m.llitus P = 0.029 were significantly associated with high case fatality. Conclusion: This study dem.nstrated that older age, m.le gender, laboratory tests (leukocytosis, lym.hopenia, low Hem.globin and high CRP) and various com.rbid conditions significantly increase the disease severity and m.rtality. Therefore, attention should be paid to preventive m.asures to reduce the considerable im.acts of the disease.

Objective:To investigate the epidem.ological factors of tubereulosis(TB)in eastern ***:The socio-dem.graphic and clinical data was retrieved from.the database at Kassala hospital during the year of *** m.dical file of consequent patients who was discharged from.the sam. ward in the hospital was reviewed to act as control for the TB ***:A total of 670 patients were registered at Kassala hospital with clinical,laboratory and radiological evidence proven *** TB accounted for 73.4%while extra-pulm.nary TB was reported in 26.6%of all TB *** m.an age(SD)was not significantly different between the cases and controls(670 in each arm..TB patients were those who had less education,and the infection m.re likely com.on am.ng m.le ***:Intervention from.outside the health field in particular awareness of associated risk factors and im.rovem.nt of the educational level potentially will strengthen TB control.

A 25 year-old m.le patient was adm.tted to the causality with com.laints of fever,joints pain,epislaxis and gingival bleeding,for the last week,the com.lete blood count revealed *** test for brucella was reported positive as 1/320,but the patient failed to respond lo brucella treatm.nt for 4 *** day 5th the diagnosis of im.une throm.ocytopenia was confirm.d after bone m.rrow *** was initiated on 6th day after adm.ssion and on the 3rd day of steroid therapy throm.ocytes count was raised to 55×10~9/L and cam. up to 180×10~9/L on 12 th day after ***-induced im.une throm.ocytopenia should be considered in patient presenting with bleeding and febrile illness especially in endem.c region.

Preparation of m.nganese （III） acetylacetonate nanoparticles via an environm.ntally benign route

With the hope of overcom.ng the generation of hazardous m.terials to hum.n health and environm.nt, serious and great endeavor have been m.de in catalyst fabrication using green chem.stry technology. In this paper, the m.nganese （III） acetylacetonate nanoparticles with diam.ters of about 146 nm.were prepared by a sim.le and environm.ntally benign route based on hydrolysis of Km.O4 followed by reaction with acetylacetone in rapid stirring rate or ultrasonication. The as-prepared sam.les were characterized by X-ray diffraction, energy dispersive X-ray fluorescence （EDIX）, Fourier transfer infrared spectroscopy and scanning electron m.croscope. Various param.ters were investigated, and the pure and stable crystals of m.nganese （III） acetylacetonate could be obtained in 98% conversion at a m.lar ratio 7：1 of acetylacetone to Km.O4 and 75℃after 60 m.n. We further proposed a m.them.tical m.del, and the predicted results from.m.del were in good agreem.nt with experim.ntal results.

The effect of hydrogel particle size on water retention properties and availability under water stress

The use of superabsorbent polym.rs or hydrogels could increase the water holding capacity (WHC) of sandy soil and reduce water loss by deep ***,hydrogels' retained water availability to plants m.ght be overestim.ted without taking into consideration the hydrogel particles ***,the ultim.te objective of this study was to address the im.acts of hydrogel particles size on hydrogel's retained water availability (plant available water,PAW),daily water consum.tion (DWC) and survival of Guava seedlings subjected to ***,som. soil physical properties,i.e.,WHC,water retention properties,and hydraulic conductivity (Ksat) were *** (WaterSorb,'WS') application,particularly the WS of sm.ll particles,significantly reduced Ksat,and increased WHC and ***,seedlings grown in soil am.nded with WS fine (0.8-1.0 m.),WS m.dium.(1.0-2.0 m.) and WS large (2-4 m.) survived for 27.0 ± 1.3,24.0 ± 1.1 and 17.0 ± 0.7 days,respectively,com.ared to 13.0 ± 1.0 days for the *** water stored in the WS of large particles was less readily available for plant ***,hydrogels,had no effect on the DWC of the *** hydrogels as a soil am.ndm.nt increases WHC PAW,growth and survival of Guava seedlings,while the effect was less pronounced for the large hydrogel particles which had lower specific surface area and swelling rate.

Atm.spheric concentrations of radon（^（222）Rn） gas and its short-lived progenies^（218）Po,^（214）Pb, and^（214）Po were continuously m.nitored every four hours at the ground level in Jeddah city, Kingdom.of Saudi Arabia. The m.asurem.nts were perform.d three tim.s every week, starting from.Novem.er 2014 to October 2015. A m.thod of electrostatic precipitation of positively charged^（218）Po and ^（214）Po by a positive voltage was applied for determ.ning^（222）Rn gas concentration. The short-lived^（222）Rn progeny concentration was determ.ned by using a filter holder connected with the alpha-spectrom.tric technique. The m.teorological param.ters（relative air hum.dity, air tem.erature, and wind speed） were determ.ned during the m.asurem.nts of^（222）Rn and its progeny concentrations.^（222）Rn gas as well as its short-lived progeny concentration display a daily and seasonal variation with high values in the night and early m.rning hours as com.ared to low values at noon and in the afternoon. The observed m.nthly atm.spheric concentrations showed a seasonal trend with the highest values in the autum./winter season and the lowest values in the spring/sum.er season. m.reover, and in parallel with alphaspectrom.tric m.asurem.nts, a single filter-holder was used to collect air sam.les. The deposited activities of^（214）Pb and the long-lived^（222）Rn daughter ^（210）Pb on the filter were m.asured with the gam.a spectrom.tric technique. The m.asured activity concentrations of^（214）Pb by both techniques were found to be relatively equal largely. The highest m.an seasonally activity concentrations of ^（210）Pb were observed in the autum./winter season while the lowest m.an were observed in the spring/sum.er season. The m.an residence tim.（m.T） of aerosol particles in the atm.spheric air could be estim.ted from.the activity ratios of ^（210）Pb/^（214）Pb.

Developed m.them.tical technique for fractional stochastic point kinetics m.del in nuclear reactor dynam.cs

Fractional stochastic kinetics equations have proven to be valuable tools for the point reactor kinetics m.del, where the nuclear reactions are not fully described by determ.nistic relations. A fractional stochastic m.del for the point kinetics system.with m.lti-group of precursors,including the effect of tem.erature feedback, has been developed and analyzed. A m.jor m.them.tical and inflexible schem. to the point kinetics m.del is obtained by m.rging the fractional and stochastic technique. A novel split-step m.thod including m.them.tical tools of the Laplace transform., m.ttage–Leffler function, eigenvalues of the coefficient m.trix, and its corresponding eigenvectors have been used for the fractional stochastic m.trix differential equation. The validity of the proposed technique has been dem.nstrated via calculations of the m.an and standard deviation of neutrons and precursor populations for various reactivities: step, ram., sinusoidal, and tem.erature reactivity feedback. The results of the proposed m.thod agree well with the conventional one of the determ.nistic point kinetics equations.

The studied granitic bodies belong to the south Eastern Desert of *** extend in a NNW–SSE trend along the sam. strike of the Nugrus weakness zone by which they are structurally *** rocks are com.osed of biotite and biotite-m.scovite m.nzogranites to ***,a higher abundance of Ba and Rb in biotite granites with a relatively low abundance in biotite-m.scovite granites as well as the diversity of Th,U,Nb,Ta,Zr,and REE reflects their origin from.different sources and geodynam.c *** biotite granites are predom.nantly m.talum.nous to low peralum.nous whereas the biotite-m.scovite granites have a peralum.nous *** enrichm.nt at the expense of calcium.in these rocks reflects a derivation from.crustal sources by partial m.lting in the presence of a volatile *** investigation showed high abundances of U(up to 38 ppm.and Th(up to 26 ppm.in biotite-m.scovite granites relative to biotite granites(up to 5 ppm.U and 18 ppm.Th).Radioactive anom.lies furtherm.re have been recorded in parts of biotite-m.scovite granites that were affected by the faults(up to 116 ppm.eU and 97 ppm.eTh).Consequently,biotite-m.scovite granites form.a potentially fertile source for uranium.m.neralization.

Software-defined networking(SDN)is a new paradigm.that prom.ses to change by breaking vertical integration,decoupling network control logic from.the underlying routers and switches,prom.ting(logical)network control centralization,and introducing network ***,the controller is sim.larly vulnerable to a“single point of failure”,an attacker can execute a distributed denial of service(DDoS)attack that invalidates the controller and com.rom.ses the network security in *** address the problem.of DDoS traffic detection in SDN,a novel detection approach based on inform.tion entropy and deep neural network(DNN)is *** approach contains a DNN-based DDoS traffic detection m.dule and an inform.tion-based entropy initial inspection *** initial inspection m.dule detects the suspicious network traffic by com.uting the inform.tion entropy value of the data packet’s source and destination Internet Protocol(IP)addresses,and then identifies it using the DDoS detection m.dule based on *** assaults were found when suspected irregular traffic was *** reveal that the algorithm.recognizes DDoS activity at a rate of m.re than 99%,with a m.ch better accuracy *** false alarm.rate(FAR)is m.ch lower than that of the inform.tion entropy-based detection ***,the proposed fram.work can shorten the detection tim. and im.rove the resource utilization efficiency.
