Two stratigraphic sections(Arjooieh and Firoozabad)of the Mymand anticline,located in the Interior Fars subbasin of the Zagros Mountains,were measured and sampled,in order to document sedimentological characteristics,microfacies types and paleo-seagrasses indicators of the Oligocene succession(Asmari Fm.).Planktonic and benthic foraminifera and coralline red algae are the principal fossils from these *** are represented by the following families:Soritidae,Peneroplidae,Austrotrillinidae,Alveolinidae,Planorbulinidae,Discorbidae,Lepidocyclinidae,Amphisteginidae,Rotaliidae,Nummulitidae and *** microfacies types were recognized,namely planktonic foraminifera-peloidal packstone(MF1),bioclast nummulitid/Nerorotalia/Amphistegina packstone-grainstonerudstone-floatstone(MF2),Neorotalia-echinoid coralline red algae packstone-grainstone(MF3),coral boundstone(MF4),coral/coralline red algae rudstone-floatstone-packstone-grainstone(MF5),diverse imperforate foraminifera bioclast packstone-grainstone(MF6),peloid wackestone-packstone-grainstone(MF7),fenestrated mudstone and microbial mats(MF8)and anhydrite(MF9).MF1 indicates an outer ramp,MFs 2-4 represent a mid-ramp and MFs 5-9 are interpreted as inner ramp ***-seagrass indicators consisting of foraminifera,hooked and tabular forms of coralline red algae and *** were identified in MFs 5 and 6,reflecting the presence of vegetated environments within the mid/inner ramp *** Mymand anticline was dominated by the outer ramp environment at the start of the *** to inner ramp environments prevailed during the *** Chattian corresponds to the spread of the inner ramp setting over the Mymand anticline.

We study phantom-like effect on the DGP brane embedded in a five-dimensional AdS bulk. We show that this effect can be realized without phantom matter on this warped DGP brahe. We investigate the role played by the bulk cosmological constant on the phantom-like effect on the brane and we show that it tends to reduce this effect. Also, warped compactification of the bulk manifold increases the values of the effective and total equation of state parameters of the model relative to the case with Minkowski bulk. We extend our study to the ease that induced curvature on the brahe is modified in the spirit of the f（R）-gravity.

The Oligocene–Miocene carbonate record of the Zagros Mountains, known as the Asmari Formation, constitutes an important hydrocarbon reservoir in southern Iran. This marine carbonate succession, which developed under tropical conditions, is explored in terms of larger foraminiferal biostratigraphy, facies analysis and sequence stratigraphy in a new section at Papoon cropping out in the western Fars sub-basin, in the south-east of the Zagros belt. Facies analysis shows evidence of re-working and transport of skeletal components throughout the depositional system, interpreted here as a carbonate ramp. The foraminifera-based biozones identified include the Globigerina–Turborotalia cerroazulensis–Hantkenina Zone and Nummulites vascus–Nummulites fichteli Zone, both of Rupelian age, the Archaias asmaricus–Archaias hensoni–Miogypsinoides complanatus Zone of Chattian age and the ‘Indeterminate’ Zone of Aquitanian age. The vertical sedimentary evolution of the formation exhibits a progressive shallowing of the facies belts and thus the succession is interpreted as a high-rank low-order regressive systems tract. This long-lasting Rupelian–Aquitanian regressive event is in accordance with accepted global long-term eustatic curves. Accordingly, long-term eustatic trends would have been a factor controlling accommodation during the deposition of the Asmari Formation studied in the western Fars sub-basin.

A new insight into the interfacial transition zone(ITZ)in cement mortar specimens(CMSs)that is influenced by cement fineness is *** importance of cement fineness in ITZ characterizations such as morphology and thickness is elucidated by backscattered electron images and by consequences to the compressive(Fc)and flexural strength(Ff),and porosity at various water/cement *** findings indicate that by increasing the cement fineness the calcium silicate hydrate formation in the ITZ is favored and that this can refine the pore structures and create a denser and more homogeneous *** increasing cement fineness by about 25%of,the ITZ thickness of CMSs was reduced by about 30%and Fc was increased by 7%–52%and Ff by 19%–40%.These findings illustrate that the influence of ITZ features on the mechanical strength of CMSs is mostly related to the cement fineness and ITZ microstructure.

Three new transition metal complexes have been synthesized with a Schiff base, 3-（2-hydroxy-5-chlorophenylimino）-1,3- diphenylpropen-l-one. In all complexes Schiff base is completely deprotonated and coordinated to metal as tridentate ligand via phenolic and enolic oxygens and imine nitrogen. Thermal decomposition of the complexes has been studied by thermogravimetry. The in vitro antibacterial activity of Schiff bases and their complexes has been evaluated and compared with the standard drugs.

The biological and chemical conditions of the rhizosphere are known to considerably differ from those of the bulk soil, as a consequence of a range of processes that are induced either directly by the activity of plant roots or indirectly by the stimulation of microbial population and activity in the rhizosphere. Information about phosphorus （P） fractionation in the rhizosphere soils amended with municipal sewage sludge （MSS） is limited, were We carried out greenhouse experiments using a rhizobox in order to evaluate the effects of bean rhizosphere on the various inorganic P （Pi） fractions, organic P （Po）, P in particulate fraction （PF-P）, Olsen-P, dissolved organic C （DOC）, microbial biomass P （MBP） and alkaline phosphatase （ALP） enzyme in 10 calcareous soils amended with MSS （10 g MSS was added to 1 kg soil）. Non-occluded P, occluded P, calcium phosphate and residual P were also quantitated. The results showed that DOC, MBP and ALP activity strongly increased and PF-P and Olsen-P de- creased in the rhizosphere soils compared with in the bulk soils （P〈0.05）. The contents of non-occluded P, oc- cluded P and residuaI-P fractions in the rhizosphere soils were lower than in the bulk soils, while the contents of calcium phosphate and organic P in the rhizosphere soils were higher than in the bulk soils. Simple correlation coefficients showed that P uptake had positive relationship with non-occluded P, occluded P, calcium phosphate fractions and PF-P in the rhizosphere soils. The results suggest that the short-term application of MSS to the cal- careous soils may increase Po and calcium phosphate fractions in the rhizosphere soils, and calcium phosphate fraction is potentially available to crops.

Thymoquinone(TQ), one of the active components of Nigella sativa exhibited to have many biological effects. Several beneficial effects of TQ such as its antidiabetic, antioxidant, anticancer, hypolipidemic, and anti-inflammatory activities have been recognized. The present review focuses on the findings of recent studies on the protective effects of TQ against cardiovascular diseases. In the current review, we additionally concluded that TQ may be therapeutically effective agents for controlling diabetes and hyperlipidemia by decreasing the oxidative stress and inflammatory responses.

Effects of physical form of diet on nutrient digestibility, rumen fermentation, rumination,growth performance and protozoa population of finishing lambs

This study was conducted to compare effects of 3 physical forms of feed including mash(diet 1), pellet(diet 2) and complete feed block(CFB; diet 3) on digestion, fermentation and performance of ***-one lambs with an initial average body weight of 26 ± 2.5 kg and 6 ± 1.5 months of age were assigned through a completely randomized design to 3 treatments and 7 replicates. The experimental treatments had the same formulation. The results of present experiment showed that CFB significantly increased feed intake and nutrient digestibility(P 0.05), except acetic acid(P < 0.05). The rumen ammonia nitrogen(NH3-N), mixed rumen protozoa population(RPP), Entodiniums spp., Epidiniums spp., blood urea nitrogen(BUN) concentration, rumination time adjusted for dry matter(DM), neutral detergent fiber(NDF), acid detergent fiber(ADF) intake, and total body weight gain of lambs in CFB diet were the highest among all diets(P < 0.05). Feed conversion ratio at days 31 to 45 and whole experimental period were better in CFB than in other diets(P < 0.05). Overall, according to the findings of the present study, among 3 physical forms of the diets, CFB had the best efficiency due to improvement of nutrient digestibility, rumen fermentation and performance of lambs. Therefore, the CFB diet offers the best result in lambs compared with mash and pellet diets.
