Ba.kground: Esopha.ea. perfora.ion is a.ra.e, but potentia.ly life threa.ening injury. The etiology a.d ma.a.ement of this condition ha.e cha.ged overtime. Ia.rogenic ca.ses a.e increa.ingly recognized a.d ma.a.ement is evolving towa.ds more conserva.ive a.proa.hes. Objective: To review our experience in the ma.a.ement of esopha.ea. perfora.ion in pedia.ric pa.ients. Pa.ients a.d methods: This retrospective study wa. conducted in the Kurdista. center for ga.troenterology a.d hepa.ology in Sula.ma.i city. Review of records for ca.es of esopha.ea. perfora.ion during the period from Ja.ua.y 2006 to October 2013 wa. performed. Results: Ten ca.es were found to ha.e esopha.ea. perfora.ion. The ca.ses of esopha.ea. perfora.ion were complica.ions of endoscopic dila.ion for esopha.ea. stricture (n = 7), button ba.tery ingestion (n = 2), complica.ion of esopha.oscopy for corrosive injury (n = 1). The mea. a.e wa. 42 months (ra.ge, 18 - 75 months). The dia.nosis wa. ma.e during the procedure in 6 ca.es, within 12 hours in 2 ca.es a.d la.e in the two ca.es of ba.tery ingestion. Subcuta.eous emphysema.a.d respira.ory distress were the ma.n presenting fea.ures. The loca.ion of perfora.ion wa. thora.ic in 9 ca.es a.d cervica. in 1 ca.e. Conserva.ive ma.a.ement wa. successful in 7 pa.ients a.d surgica. closure wa. done in two pa.ients. One dea.h ha. been reported. Conclusion: Ia.rogenic ca.ses were the most common ca.ses of esopha.ea. perfora.ion. Conserva.ive ma.a.ement with interventions guided by clinica. response ca. ha.e a.fa.ora.le outcome a.d ma. become the best initia. trea.ment stra.egy in the future. Further la.ger sca.e studies a.e recommended to esta.lish the best protocol for conserva.ive ma.a.ement.

CKD,7892(32.4%)pa.ients were rea.mitted within 90 da.s,a.d ha. higher a.justed odds of being fema.es(a.justed odds ra.io:1.17,95%CI:1.02-1.31,P=0.02)with longer length of hospita. sta.>6 da.s,a.d more comorbidities including but not limited to dia.etes mellitus,a.emia.a.d congestive hea.t fa.lure(CHF).CONCLUSION Most common ca.ses of rea.mission included CHF(18.0%),sepsis,a.d complete a.rioventricula. *** rea.mission predictors with very close followup is wa.ra.ted to prevent such high ra.e of rea.mission.
