We aimed to evaluate the current nationwide trend,efficacy,safety,and quality of life(QoL)profiles of hormone treatment in real-world practice settings for prostate cancer(PCa)patients in Korea.A total of 292 men with any biopsy-proven PCa(TanyNanyMany)from 12 institutions in Korea were included in this multi-institutional,observational study of prospectively collected *** luteinizing hormone-releasing hormone(LHRH)agonists were allowed to be investigational *** was defined as(1)the rate of castration(serum testosterone≤50 ng dl^-1)at 4-week visit and(2)breakthrough(serum testosterone>50 ng dl^-1 after castration).Safety assessments included routine examinations for potential adverse events,laboratory tests,blood pressure,body weight,and bone min era I density(BMD,at baseli ne and at the last follow-up visit).QoL was assessed using the Expa nded Prostate Cancer Index Composite-26(EPIC-26).The most comm on initial therapeutic regimen was LHRH agonist with an ti-androge n(78.0%),and the most commonly used LHRH agonist for combination and mono therapy was leuprolide(64.0%for combi natio n and 58.0%for monotherapy).The castration and breakthrough rates were 78.4%and 6.6%,*** laboratory results related to dyslipidemia worsened after 4 weeks of hormone *** addition,the mean BMD T-score was significantly lower at the last follow-up(mean:-1.950)compared to baseline(mean:-0.195).The mean total EPIC-26 score decreased from 84.8(standard deviation[s.d.]:12.2)to 78.3(s.d.:8.1),with significant deterioration only in the urinary domain(mean:23.5 at baseli ne and 21.9 at the 4-week visit).These findi ngs dem on strate the n ationwide trend of current practice setti ngs in hormone treatment for PCa in Korea.

Efficacy of Simple Assessment System of Oocyte Maturity in IVF-ET Cycles

Objective To establish and evaluate the efficacy of the simple assessment system of oocyte maturity. Methods A total of 251 couples were enrolled in this study and female patients were divided into two groups. In group Ⅰ, oocytes were inseminated at 6 h after ovum pick-up. In group Ⅱ, oocyte maturity was rapidly categorized by simple assessment system. Mature oocytes were inseminated at 3-4 h after ovum pick-up when oocyte-corona complexes （OCC） exhibited clear thick ring-like halo （RLH） and expanded cumulus cells （CC） or 5-6 h when OCC exhibited RLH and a few clumped and/or dark CC, respectively. Intermediate oocytes were inseminated at 7-8 h when RLH was not found around the OCC and CC were compacted and clumped and/or dark. Results Normal fertilization rate was higher in group Ⅱ （76.5%） than that in group Ⅰ （58.0%）（P〈0.001）. However, abnormal fertilization rate was higher in group Ⅰ（11.3%） than that in group 11 （3.6%）（P〈0.001）. The cleavage （82.6% vs 90.0%）, chemical pregnancy （4. 8% vs 3.9%）, twin pregnancy （6. 7% vs 3.9%） and implantation rate （8.4% vs 10.6%） had no statistically differences between group I and Ⅱ. Rate of clinical and singleton pregnancy was higher in groupⅡ （35.3% and 31.4%） than those in group Ⅰ （24.8% and 18.2%）（P〈0.05）. Conclusion This simple assessment system is useful and effective for evaluation and categorization of the oocyte maturity with better reproductive outcomes.

Effects of Trekking Pole Use on Metabolic Cost in Novice Hikers on Steep Terrains

PURPOSE： This study examined whether the use of trekking poles alters metabolic cost in steep hiking by novice hikers and whether the response would be dependent on the grade of the terrain. METHODS： Twelve participants completed two trekking trials （with poles [WP] and without trekking poles [NP]） with round trips comprising three grades： 7.0 ± 0.7°, 12.9 ± 0.7°, and 18.8 ± 1.3°） over a steep mountain at self-paced speeds. During the trials, time spent for trekking （TT）, oxygen consumption （VO2）, heart rate （HR）, ratings of perceived exertion （RPE）, and step frequency （Sf） were measured, and step efficiency （Se） and oxygen pulse （OP） were calculated. RESULTS： TT tended to be longer in the WP than NP for both terrains （P 〈 0.05）. HR, VO2, and RPE were the same for the WP and NP. Sfwas lower in WP going uphill （P 〈 0.05） but was unchanged going downhill. Se in the WP was higher than in the NP for both terrains （P 〈 0.01）. When analyzed by slope, VO2 during uphill at 18.8° was lower in WP （37.2 ± 6.3） than in NP （38.6 ± 7.1 ml .kg-1 .min-1, P 〈 0.05）, but no difference in VO2 was found between WP and NP at the 12.9° and 7.0°. TT during uphill was slower in WP than NP at 12.9°（7.9± 1.1 vs. 7.4 ± 1.0） and 18.8° （5.3 ± 1.3 vs. 4.9± 1.0 min, respectively, P 〈 0.05）. No differences were noticed in HR and OP during uphill at every grade. CONCLUSIONS： Pole use decreased metabolic cost in the novice hikers only in the highest grade but not in the other two lower grades.

AIM:To assess the prognostic value of preoperative 18 fluorodeoxyglucose positron emission tomography(FDG-PET)/computed tomography(CT) in patients with resectable colorectal ***:One hundred sixty-three patients with resectable colorectal cancer who underwent FDG-PET/CT before surgery were *** data including pathologic stage at presentation,histology,treatment,disease-free survival and the maximum standardized uptake value(SUVmax) of the primary tumor on FDG-PET/CT were retrospectively *** follow up duration was 756(range,419-1355).The primary end point was disease-free ***:Twenty-five of 163 patients(15.3%) had *** median SUVmax values of the recurrence and no-recurrence groups were 8.9(range,5-24) and 8.2(range,0-23,P = 0.998).Receiver operating characteristic(ROC) curve analysis showed no significant association between SUVmax and recurrence(area under the curve = 0.5,P = 0.998,95% CI:0.389-0.611).Because a statistically significant value was not found,SUVmax was dichotomized at its median of *** disease-free survival curve was analyzed using the median SUVmax(8.6) as the cut *** and multivariate analysis did not provide evidence that disease-free survival rates for the subgroups defined by the median SUVmax were significantly different(P = 0.52,P = 0.25).CONCLUSION:Our study suggests that the high FDG uptake of primary mass in resectable colorectal cancer doesn't have a significant relationship with tumor recurrence and disease-free survival.

Angiomyofibroblastoma (AMF) is a rare kind of soft tissue tumor that occurs predominantly in the vulva. Due to their location, clinicians often confuse AMF with Bartholin’s cyst or perineal hernia. Radiological evaluation is performed to rule out perineal hernia and invasive neoplasm. Like other benign mesenchymal tumors of vulva, AMF shows indolent behavior and rarely recurs after complete surgical excision.

文章给出了存在不确定质量参数和扰动时航天器进行姿态机动的控制系统。控制法则由神经网络和线性控制逻辑组成,这是为预定参数轨道飞行的航天器设计的。为得到闭环稳定条件使用了李雅普诺夫稳定性理论。这些稳定性条件施加到神经网络上起网络可调权重主控调整的约束作用。模拟结果证明当航天器惯量发生变化和出现干扰时,所提出的控制法则具有良好的跟踪特性。除了良好的鲁棒特性,模拟结果还证明由于所提出的神经网络控制器显示出网络权重迅速收敛,说明控制器具有学习能力。

＜正＞These days,the basic maintenance strategies are being shifted from a periodic maintenance to a predictive and condition-based maintenance based on an on-line condition monitoring of deteriorated components,equipment and *** are several on-going efforts to monitor and detect the deteriorated components and the disturbed processes[1,2,3].Their efforts are to achieve an optimum safety and economy for an operation and *** information of the symptom signals emitted from the deteriorated components will provide confidence in an understanding of the condition of the underlying process disturbance. In order to increase the confidence level of the understanding on the condition of the underlying processes and components,KAERI I＆*** Research team has developed an alarm root cause tracking system（ACTs）,an alarm and diagnosis-integrated operator support system（ADIOS）,and a dynamic alarm system（DAS）[2,3]. An alarm processing and presentation system,LogACTs（Logic Alarm Cause Tracking system） of their researches is developed and installed into the main control room（MCR） of the Wolsong nuclear power plant（NPP） unit *** especially,provides the capabilities for a diagnostics and prognostics evaluation of a process disturbance that will detect component degradation prior to a component failure or a process shutdown.

AIM：To investigate the incidence and general characteristics of sports-related eye injuries in patients visiting the Emergency Department. An alternative path for the preparation of triacetylcellulose (TAC) from unrefined biomass Palm Empty Fruit Bunch (EFB) has been found with environmental benefits. The method comprises separation and regeneration of cellulose from lignocellulosic biomass dissolved in ionic liquid BMIMCl, and also modification of cellulose to TAC. The triacetylcellulose with a degree of substitution of 2.93 was obtained by the reaction of acetic anhydride at 55。C with drastically reducing number of steps currently required to produce this derivative from raw materials itself. TAC was characterized using NMR analysis. The triacetate cellulose is typically used for the creation of fibers and film base.
