The use of electrochemical-metallization-based volatile threshold switching selectors in cross-point arrays has been widely explored owing to their high on-off ratios and simple ***,these devices are unsuitable for cross-point architectures because of the difficulty in controlling the random filament formation that results in large fluctuations in the threshold voltage during *** this study,we investigated the unidirectional threshold transition characteristics associated with an Ag/GST/HfO_(x)/Pt-based bilayer selector and demonstrated the occurrence of a low leakage current(<1×10^(-11) A) and low distribution of the threshold voltage(Δ0.11 V).The bilayer structure could control the filament formation in the intermediate state through the insertion of an HfO_(x) tunneling *** stacking a bilayer selector with NiO_(x)based resistive random-access memory,the leakage and programming currents of the device could be significantly *** the crossbar array configuration,we performed equivalent circuit analysis of a one-selector oneresistor(1S1R) devices and estimated the optimal array size to demonstrate the applicability of the proposed *** maximum acceptable crossbar array size of the 1S1R device with the Ag/GST/HfO_(x)/Pt/Ti/NiO_(x)/Pt structure was 5.29×10^(14)(N^(2),N=2.3×10^(7)).

Fuel consumption in fisheries is a primary concern because of its effects on the environment and the costs incurred by fishermen. Many studies have been conducted to reduce the fuel consumption in fishing operations. Fuel consumption due to fishing gear during a fishing operation is generally related to the hydrodynamic resistance on the gear. This means that fuel consumption is proportional to the drag created by the towing speed. Based on numerical methods, this study suggests a new approach to reduce fuel consumption in fisheries. The results of the simulation are in good agreement with those of model experiments. The total as well as partial resistance forces on the gear are calculated by simulation. The simulation results suggest improved materials and gear structure for reducing the hydrodynamic forces on the gear while maintaining gear performance. The method for assessing the gear performance involves measuring the height and width of the net mouth. Furthermore, this study investigates the efficiency of a low-energy trawl from an economic point of view. The findings of this study will be useful in reducing greenhouse gas （GHG） emissions in fishing operations, and thereby contribute toward lowering fishing costs by saving fuel.

This paper presents the energy and greenhouse gas(GHG) emission assessments of Korean offshore fisheries. The consumption of energy by fisheries is a significant concern because of its attendant environmental effect, as well as the cost of the fuel consumed in fishing industry. With the global attention of reducing GHG emission and increasing energy efficiency of fuel, the seafood industry needs to further understand its energy use and reduce its GHG emission. In the present study, the amount of energy consumed and the GHG emission of Korean offshore fisheries in a period from 2009 to 2013 were examined. Offshore fisheries accounted for 24% of Korean production in 2013 and 60% of fuel consumption related GHG emission. Whereas the total GHG emission intensity of this sector improved slightly between 2009 and 2012; as such emission decreased by approximately 1.9%, which increased again in 2013. The average amount of total GHG emission in this five years period was 1.78 × 10~6 tons of carbon dioxide equivalent/year(tCO_2eq. y^(-1)). Active fishing gear was found to consume 20% more fuel than passive gear. However, the production from passive gear was 28%, lower than 72% from active gear. The reason for this is that less abundant stationary resources are harvested using passive gear. Furthermore, the consumption of fuel was significantly influenced by the fishing method. Implementation and development of new fishing technologies and methods are important for improving energy efficiency and reducing the climate impact on fisheries. To realize these purposes, the fishery management system needs to be established by centralizing on energy efficiency and climate effect.

Intracerebral hemorrhage （ICH） is a devastating subtype of stroke with a high mortality rate, for which there currently is no effective treatment. A perihematomal edema caused by an intense inflammatory reaction is more deleterious than the hematoma itself and can result in neurological deterioration and death. Ceria nanoparticles （CeNPs） are potent free radical scavengers with potential for biomedical applications. As oxidative stress plays a major role in post-ICH inflammation, we hypothesized that CeNPs might protect against ICH. To test this hypothesis, core CeNPs were synthesized using a modified reverse micelle method and covered with phospholipid-polyethylene glycol （PEG） to achieve biocompatibility. We investigated whether our custom-made biocompatible CeNPs have protective effects against ICH. The CeNPs reduced oxidative stress, hemin-induced cytotoxicity, and inflammation in vitro. In a rodent ICH model, intravenously administered CeNPs were mainly distributed in the hemorrhagic hemisphere, suggesting that they could diffuse through the damaged blood-brain barrier. Moreover, CeNPs attenuated microglia/macrophage recruitment around the hemorrhagic lesion and inflammatory protein expression. Finally, CeNP treatment reduced the brain edema by 68.4% as compared to the control. These results reveal the great potential of CeNPs as a novel therapeutic agent for patients with ICH.

Polyalkenoate cement(PAC)is a promising material for regenerative hard tissue *** ionically rich glass component of PAC encourages bioactive interaction *** release of essential ***,PAC bioactivity is restricted owing to(i)structurally inherent cationic network formers and(ii)surface bacterial biofilm *** two factors cause a deficiency in ion release,further complicated by secondary infections and premature therapeutic ***,a multivalent zwitterionic network modifier(mZM)is presented for upregulation of ionic exchange and bioactivity *** introducing a non-zero charged mZM into PACs,an increase in the proportion of non-bridging oxygen *** network modification promotes ion channel formation,causing a multiple-fold increase in ion release and surface deposition of hydroxy-carbonate apatite(ca.74%).Experiments ex vivo and animal models also demonstrate the efficient remineralization ability of the ***,divalent cationic interaction results in bacterial biofilm reduction(ca.68%)while also influencing a shift in the biofilm species composition,which favors commensal ***,PAC modification with mZM offers a promising solution for upregulation of bioactivity,even aiding in customization by targeting site-specific regenerative therapy in future applications.

Ultra-thin hafnium-oxide gate dielectric films deposited by atomic layer deposition technique using HfCl4 and H2O precursor on a hydrogen-terminated Si substrate were investigated. X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy indicates that the interface layer is Hf-silicate rather than phase separated Hf-silicide and silicon oxide structure. The Hf-silicate interfacial layer partially changes into SiOx after high temperature annealing, resulting in a complex HfO2-silicate-SiOx dielectric structure. Electrical measurements confirms that HfO2 on Si is stable up to 700 ℃ for 30 s under N2 ambient.

Significant enhancement of photoresponsive characteristics and mobility of MoS2-based transistors through hybridization with perovskite CsPbBr3 quantum dots

Inorganic perovskite CsPbBr3 quantum dots (QDs) are potential nanoscale photosensitizers;moreover,two-dimensional (2-D) molybdenum disulfide (MoS2) has been intensively studied for application in the active layers of optoelectronic *** this study,heterostructures of 2D-monolayered MoS2 with zero-dimensional functionalized CsPbBr3 QDs were prepared,and their nanoscale optical characteristics were *** effect of n-type doping on the MoS2 monolayer after hybridization with perovskite CsPbBr3 QDs was observed using laser confocal microscope photoluminescenca (PL) and Raman ***-effect transistors (FETs) using MoS2 and the MoS2-CsPbBr3 QDs hybrid were also fabricated,and their electrical and photoresponsive characteristics were investigated in terms of the charge transfer *** the MoS2-CsPbBr3 QDs-based FETs,the field effect mobility and photoresponsivity upon light irradiation were enhanced by ~ 4 times and a dramatic ~ 17 times,respectively,compared to the FET prepared without the parovskite QDs and without light *** is noteworthy that the photoresponsivity of the MoS-2-CsPbBr3 QDs-based FETs significantly increased with increasing light power,which is completely contrary to the behavior observed in previous studies of MoS2-based *** increased mobility and significant enhancement of the photoresponsivity can be attributed to the n-type doping effect and efficient energy transfer from CsPbBr3 QDs to *** results indicate that the optoelectronic characteristics of MoS2-based FETs can be significantly improved through hybridization with photosensitive parovskite CsPbBr3 QDs.

Foreign bodies in the colon are encountered with increasing frequency, but only sporadic reports concerning their management have appeared in the literature. While most ingested foreign bodies usually pass through the gastrointestinal tract uneventfully, sharp foreign bodies such as toothpicks infrequently cause intestinal perforation and may even result in death. We report our experience with a patient with a sigmoid colon pseudodiverticulum formation, a complication of accidental ingestion of a toothpick that was diagnosed and successfully managed colonoscopically.
