In this study,high entropy metallic glasses(HEMGs)were developed through a combination of concepts for designing metallic glasses(main element+transition metal+metalloid element)and high-entropy alloys(more than five elements,each element having an atomic concentration between 5 at.%and 35 at.%).The developed metallic glass alloys are composed of Co-Fe-Ni main elements,transition metals(Cr,Mo)and metalloid elements(C,B).Moreover,the present work reports the thermal,mechanical and magnetic properties of(CoFeNi)(50)(CrMo)(50-x)(CB)x alloys with x=20,25,*** developed as-spun HEMGs exhibit typical paramagnetic properties even for a high amount of ferromagnetic elements(Co,Fe,and Ni)and have high elastic modulus(103–160 GPa)and hardness(14–27 GPa),thus possessing mechanical properties similar to well-known Co-based metallic glasses(Co-Cr-Mo-C-B system).In addition,some of the bulk samples prepared with a diameter of 2 mm form bulk metallic glasses with a high compressive strength around 3.5 *** mechanisms determining the stability of the supercooled liquid,as well as the paramagnetic and mechanical properties for the developed non-equiatomic HEMGs,are discussed.

In this study,a novel Mg production process for producing high-purity Mg metal from dolomite was *** the electrolysis of calcined dolomite was conducted using Cu cathode and C anode in MgF_(2)–LiF molten salt at 1083–1173 K by applying an average current of 1.42–1.46 A for 9.50–21.0 h,the current efficiency of 66.4–88.6%was *** produced Mg alloys consisted of MgCu_(2)and Cu(Mg)or MgCu_(2)and CuMg_(2)phases,depending on the Mg concentration in the Mg *** the electrolysis of calcined dolomite was conducted in MgF_(2)–LiF–CaF_(2)molten salt at 1083 K,the current efficiency was 40.9–71.4%,owing to undesired reactions such as electroreduction of Ca^(2+)or/and CO_(3)^(2−)***,the current efficiency increased from 40.9%to 63.2%by utilizing a Pt anode,because the occurrence of CO_(3)^(2−)ions in the molten salt was *** vacuum distillation of the obtained Mg alloys at 1300 K for 10 h,Mg metal with a purity of 99.9996–99.9998%was ***,the feasibility of this novel process for the production of high-purity Mg metal from dolomite was demonstrated.

We report a composite material with the high tribological performance,which consists of onedimensional SnO2 nanotubes(ST)and a high molecular weight poly(vinylidene fluoride)(PVDF)matrix in terms of *** of PVDF in N,N-dimethylformamide(DMF)resulted in a facile penetration of PVDF into the inner hollow voids of ST,leading to the close *** between PVDF and ST results in a beneficial effect on the chain arrangement of PVDF,providing anα-phase with better tribological *** ST incorporation,the friction coefficient decreased by 85.0%to 0.408,and the specific wear rate decreased by 69.1%to 0.412,demonstrating the pivotal role of ST as a self-lubricating material due to a large interactive area and PVDF chain rearrangement.

Nanoparticles can be involved in biological activities such as apoptosis, angiogenesis, and oxidative stress by themselves. In particular, inorganic nanoparticles such as gold and silica nanoparticles are known to inhibit vascular endothelial growth factor （VEGF）-mediated pathological angiogenesis. In this study, we show that anti-angiogenic effect of inorganic nanospheres is determined by their sizes. We demonstrate that 20 nm size gold and silica nanospheres suppress VEGF-induced activation of VEGF receptor-2, in vitro angiogenesis, and in vivo pathological angiogenesis more efficiently than their 100 nm size counterparts. Our results suggest that modulation of the size of gold and silica nanospheres determines their inhibitory activity to VEGF-mediated angiogenesis.

The development of new heterostructures with high photoactivity is a breakthrough for the limitation of solar-driven water ***,we first introduce indium oxide(In_(2)O_(3))nanorods(NRs)as a novel electron transport layer for bismuth vanadate(BiVO_(4))with a short charge diffusion ***_(2)O_(3)NRs reinforce the electron transport and hole blocking of BiVO_(4),surpassing the state-of-the-art photoelectrochemical performances of BiVO_(4)-based ***,a tannin-nickel-iron complex(TANF)is used as an oxygen evolution catalyst to speed up the reaction *** final TANF/BiVO_(4)/In_(2)O_(3)NR photoanode generates photocurrent densities of 7.1 mAcm^(−2) in sulfite oxidation and 4.2 mA cm^(−2) in water oxidation at 1.23 V versus the reversible hydrogen ***,the“artificial leaf,”which is a tandem cell with a perovskite/silicon solar cell,shows a solar-to-hydrogen conversion efficiency of 6.2%for unbiased solar water *** reveal significant advances in the photoactivity of TANF/BiVO_(4)/In_(2)O_(3)NRs from the tailored nanostructure and band structure for charge dynamics.

Though the WiMedia supports higher data rates than other WPAN technologies,a WiMedia device cannot reach other devices that are separated from it by more than 10 m,which is the typical limited transmission range of the WiMedia *** this work,we propose a multi-hop QoS routing protocol to enable WiMedia devices to transmit real-time data to devices that are located out of the transmission *** proposed routing protocol is a hybrid algorithm,which mixes the table-driven and on-demand routing algorithms,searching one or more routes according to the number of hops to a destination *** MAC is potentially capable of learning the existence of neighbor devices by using a beacon *** utilizing the neighbors' information,all devices can create routing entries for devices within 2-hops *** devices beyond the 2-hop range,the newly designed on-demand routing algorithm is applied to multi-hop *** a routing entry for a destination device is not listed in the routing table,the source device sends a request packet to 2-hop range devices which could be found in the routing *** every device maintains routing entries for 2-hop range devices in the routing table,the request packet is replied in advance before its arrival at the destination ***,to decide the optimal route for a destination device,the number of medium access slots(MASs),received signal strength indicator(RSSI)and hop count are utilized to establish a QoS-enabled routing *** perform ns-2 simulation to investigate the performance of the proposed routing protocol with AODV and *** simulation results show that the proposed protocol has better throughput and lower overhead than other protocols.

AIM:To investigate the efficacy of hepatic arterial infusion chemotherapy(HAIC) using floxuridine(FUDR) in patients with advanced hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC) confined to the ***:Thirty-four patients who had advanced HCC with unresectability or unsuccessful previous therapy in the absence of extrahepatic metastasis were treated with intra-arterial FUDR chemotherapy at ourhospital between March 2005 and May *** the 34 patients,9 patients were classified as Child class C,and 18 patients had portal vein tumor thrombus(PVTT).One course of chemotherapy consisted of continuous infusion of FUDR(0.3 mg/kg during day 1-14) and dexamethasone(10 mg on day 1,4,7 and 11),and this treatment was repeated every 28 ***:Two patients(5.9%) displayed a complete response,and 12 patients(35.3%) had a partial *** tumor control rate was 61.8%.The median overall survival times were 15.3 mo,12.4 mo and 4.3 mo for the patients who were classified as Child class A,Child class B and Child class C,respectively(P = 0.0392).The progression-free survival was 12.9 mo,7.7 mo and 2.6 mo for the patients who were classified as Child class A,Child class B and Child class C,respectively(P = 0.0443).The cumulative survival differed significantly according to the Child-Pugh classification and the presence of *** addition to hepatic reserve capacity and PVTT,the extent of HCC was an independent factor in determining a poor *** most common adverse reactions to HAIC were mucositis,diarrhea and peptic ulcer disease,but most of these complications were improved by medical treatment and/or a delay of ***:The present study demonstrates that intra-arterial FUDR chemotherapy is a safe and effective treatment for advanced HCC that is recalcitrant to other therapeutic modalities,even in patients with advanced cirrhosis.

The current electrolytic processes for magnesium(Mg)metal have several disadvantages,such as anhydrous magnesium chloride(MgCl_(2))preparation and generation of harmful chlorine(Cl_(2))*** overcome these drawbacks,a novel Mg production process to produce high-purity Mg metal directly from magnesium oxide(MgO)was investigated in this *** electrolysis of MgO was conducted using a liquid tin(Sn)cathode and a carbon(C)anode in the eutectic composition of a magnesium fluoride(MgF_(2))-lithium fluoride(LiF)molten salt under an applied voltage of 2.5 V at 1053-1113 *** certain conditions,the Mg-Sn alloys with Mg_(2)Sn and Mg(Sn)phases were obtained with a current efficiency of 86.6%at 1053 *** produce high-purity Mg metal from the Mg-Sn alloy,vacuum distillation was conducted at 1200-1300 K for a duration of 5-10 *** the vacuum distillation,the concentration of Mg in the Mg-Sn alloy feed decreased from 34.1 to 0.17 mass%,and Mg metal with a purity of 99.999%was obtained at 1200 ***,the electrolytic process developed here is feasible for the production of high-purity Mg metal from MgO using an efficient method.

This study investigates the interannual variation of summer surface air temperature over Northeast Asia（NEA） and its associated circulation *** leading modes for the temperature variability over NEA are obtained by EOF *** first EOF mode is characterized by a homogeneous temperature anomaly over NEA and therefore is called the NEA *** anomaly extends from southeast of Lake Baikal to Japan,with a central area in Northeast *** second EOF mode is characterized by a seesaw pattern,showing a contrasting distribution between East Asia（specifically including the Changbai Mountains in Northeast China,Korea,and Japan） and north of this *** mode is named the East Asia（EA） *** modes contribute equivalently to the temperature variability in *** two leading modes are associated with different circulation anomalies.A warm NEA mode is associated with a positive geopotential height anomaly over NEA and thus a weakened upper-tropospheric westerly *** the other hand,a warm EA mode is related to a positive height anomaly over EA and a northward displaced *** addition,the NEA mode tends to be related to the Eurasian teleconnection pattern,while the EA mode is associated with the East Asia-Pacific/PacificJapan pattern.
