This study presents the development of an ultrasonic transducer with a radius horn for an ultrasonic milling spindle(UMS)*** ultrasonic transducer was intended to have a working frequency of approximately 30 *** different materials were considered in the study:stainless steel(SS 316L)and titanium alloy(Ti-6Al-4V).Titanium alloy gave a higher resonance frequency(33 kHz)than stainless steel(30 kHz)under the same preload compression *** electromechanical impedance simulation was carried out to predict the impedance resonance frequency for both materials,and the effect of the overhanging toolbar was *** to the electromechanical impedance simulation,the overhanging toolbar length affected the resonance frequency,and the error was less than 3%.Harmonic analysis confirmed that the damping ratio helps determine the resonance ***,damping ratios of 0.015-0.020 and 0.005-0.020 were selected for stainless steel and titanium alloy,respectively,with an error of less than 1.5%.Experimental machining was also performed to assess the feasibility of ultrasonic-assisted milling;the result was a lesser cutting force and better surface topography of Al 6061.

Tribological properties of hierarchical micro-dimples produced on a cylindrical surface by dual-frequency texturing

An experimental investigation was performed for investigating the tribological performance of micro-dimple surface texture patterns on a cylindrical surface in a realistic operating environment of starved lubrication. Micro-dimples were generated by a dual-frequency surface texturing method, in which a high-frequency (16.3 kHz) three-dimensional (3D) vibration and a low-frequency (230 Hz) one-dimensional (1D) vibration were applied at the tool tip simultaneously, resulting in the generation of the hierarchical micro-dimples in a single step. Rotating cylinder-on-pin tribological tests were conducted to compare the tribological performance of the non-textured reference specimen and micro-dimple samples. The effect of surface textures generated with various shape parameters (long drop and short drop), dimension parameters (length and surface texture density), and operation parameters (load and sliding velocity) on the tribological performance was evaluated. Stribeck curves indicate that the hierarchical micro-dimples exhibit a lower coefficient of friction than the reference specimen in the high contact-pressure regions. It is also observed that variation in the length of a micro-dimple, the shape effect, is the major factor affecting the friction response of the textured surfaces. The generation of additional hydrodynamic pressure and lift effect by hierarchical structures is the main reason for the improved performance of hierarchical micro-dimple surfaces.

Lithium-sulfur(Li-S)batteries with high energy density are considered promising energy storage devices for the next ***,the shuttle effect and the passive layer between the separator and the electrodes still seriously affect the cycle stability and ***,a bimetallic Ni-Co metal-organic framework(MOF)with adsorption and catalytic synergism for polysulfides was successfully synthesized as an electrospinning separator sandwich for Li-S *** porous Ni-Co MOF coatings into the separator provides more adsorption catalytic sites for polysulfides,prevents their diffusion to the anode,and enhances sulfur ***,the improved Li-S batteries with a Ni-Co MOF@PAN(NCMP)electrospun separator delivered excellent rate performance and outstanding cycle stability,yielding an ultra-high initial capacity of 1560 mA h g^(-1)at 0.1 ***,remarkable Li-S battery performance with a discharge capacity of 794 mA h g^(-1)(84.1%capacity retention)was obtained after500 cycles,while delivering a low capacity decay rate of 0.032%during long-term cycling(up to 500cycles)at 1 ***,even at the current density of 2 C,the capacity attenuation rate of 2000 cycles is only 0.034%per *** addition,compared with the Celgard separator,the NCMP separator also had high thermal stability(keeping the separator outline at 200℃)that ensured battery safety and excellent electrolyte wettability(73%porosity and 535%electrolyte absorption)and significantly enhanced the ionic conductivity and Li^(+) transfer number,and protected the surface integrity of the anode.

Over the years,zinc-ion batteries(ZIBs)have attracted attention as a promising next-generation energy storage technology because of their excellent safety,long cycling performance,eco-friendliness,and high-power ***,issues,such as the corrosion and dissolution of the Zn anode,limited wet-tability,and lack of sufficient nucleation sites for Zn plating,have limited their practical *** introduction of a protective layer comprising of tellurium(Te)nanobelts onto the surface of Zn anode has emerged as a promising approach to overcome these limitations and improve the electrochemical behav-ior by enhancing the safety and wettability of ZIBs,as well as providing numerous nucleation sites for Zn *** the presence of a Te-based protective layer,the energy power density of the surface-engineered Zn anode improved significantly(ranging from 310 to 144 W h kg^(-1),over a power density range of 270 to 1,800 W kg^(-1)),and the lifespan capability was *** results demonstrate that the proposed strategy of employing Te nanobelts as a protective layer holds great promise for enhancing the energy storage performance of zIBs,making them even more attractive as a viable energy storage solution forthefuture.

BACKGROUND Achromobacter xylosoxidans is a Gram-negative opportunistic aerobe,usually causing nosocomial infections in immunocompromised patients with manifestations including bacteremia,pneumonia,and catheter-related ***,*** have not yet been reported to cause biliary system *** SUMMARY A 72-year-old woman presented to the outpatient department of our hospital with a chief complaint of *** tomography of her abdomen revealed the presence of a mass of approximately 2.4 cm in the hilar portion of the common hepatic duct,consistent with hilar *** performed endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography(ERCP)to decompress the obstructed left and right intrahepatic ducts(IHDs)and placed 10 cm and 11 cm biliary stents in the left and right IHDs,***,the day after the procedure,the patient developed post-ERCP cholangitis as the length of the right IHD stent was insufficient for proper bile *** blood culture of the patient tested positive for *** measures included the replacement of the right IHD stent(11 cm)with a longer one(12 cm)and administering culturedirected antibiotic therapy,solving the cholangitis-related *** the cholangitis had resolved,the patient underwent surgery for hilar cholangiocarcinoma and survived for 912 d without *** ***-induced biliary system infections are extremely *** awareness of physicians and endoscopists is required as this rare pathogen might cause infection after endoscopic procedures.

The relation between the structure of the silver network electrodes and the properties of Cu(In,Ga)Se_(2)(CIGS)solar cells is systemically *** Ag network electrode is deposited onto an Al:ZnO(AZO)thin film,employing a self-forming cracked *** control over the cracked template's structure is achieved through careful adjustment of temperature and *** Ag network electrodes with different coverage areas and network densities are systemically applied to the CIGS solar *** is revealed that predominant fill factor(FF)is influenced by the figure of merit of transparent conducting electrodes,rather than sheet resistance,particularly when the coverage area falls within the range of 1.3–5%.Furthermore,a higher network density corresponds to an enhanced FF when the coverage areas of the Ag networks are *** utilizing a thinner AZO film,CIGS solar cells with a surface area of 1.0609 cm^(2)exhibit a notable performance improvement,with efficiency increasing from 10.48%to 11.63%.This enhancement is primarily attributed to the increase in FF from 45%to 65%.These findings underscore the considerable potential for reducing the thickness of the transparent conductive oxide(TCO)in CIGS modules with implications for practical applications in photovoltaic technology.

Under certain cutting conditions in end milling, the signs of cutting forces change from positive to negative during a revolution of the tool. The change of force direction causes the cutting dynamics to be unstable which results in chatter vibration. Therefore, cutting force signal monitoring and classification are needed to determine the optimal cutting conditions and to improve the efficiency of cut. Artificial neural networks are powerful tools for solving highly complex and nonlinear problems. It can be divided into supervised and unsupervised learning machines based on the availability of a teacher. Hybrid neural network was introduced with both of functions of multilayer perceptron (MLP) trained with the back-propagation algorithm for monitoring and detecting abnormal state, and self organizing feature map (SOFM) for treating huge datum such as image processing and pattern recognition, for predicting and classifying cutting force signal patterns simultaneously. The validity of the results is verified with cutting experiments and simulation tests.

BACKGROUND Immunoglobulin G4-related disease(IgG4-RD)is a complex immune-mediated condition that causes fibrotic inflammation in several organs.A significant clinical feature of IgG4-RD is hypertrophic pachymeningitis,which manifests as inflammation of the dura mater in intracranial or spinal *** IgG4-RD can affect multiple areas,the spine is a relatively rare site compared to the more frequent involvement of intracranial *** SUMMARY A 70-year-old male presented to our hospital with a two-day history of fever,altered mental status,and generalized *** initial brain magnetic resonance imaging(MRI)revealed multiple small infarcts across various cerebral *** the second day after admission,a physical examination revealed motor weakness in both lower extremities and diminished sensation in the right lower *** evaluation revealed findings consistent with acute motor sensory *** initial management with intravenous immunoglobulin for presumed Guillain-Barrésyndrome,the patient exhibited progressive worsening of motor *** the 45th day of hospitalization,an enhanced MRI of the entire spine,focusing specifically on the thoracic 9 to lumbar 1 vertebral level,raised the suspicion of IgG4-related spinal ***,the patient was administered oral prednisolone and participated in a comprehensive rehabilitation program that included gait training and lower extremity strengthening *** IgG4-related spinal pachymeningitis,diagnosed on MRI,was treated with corticosteroids and a structured rehabilitation regimen,leading to significant improvement.
