Introduction: Growth is a reflection of a child’s health and nutritional status. Children with sickle cell disease often have slower statural and weight development. The aim of this study was to evaluate the nutritional profile of children with sickle cell disease (SCD) registered in the CEMECO centre database. Methodology: This was a cross-sectional study with simple random sampling of children aged 1 to 16 years registered in the clinic database. Results: We collected information on 208 children, 121 of whom had sickle cell disease and 87 of whom were normal, with a sex ratio of 1.02. The mean age of the sickle cell patients was 8.7 ± 4.4 years, while that of the non-sickle cell patients was 9.5 ± 4 years. Haemoglobin electrophoresis revealed 103 homozygous (SS), 18 double heterozygous (SC, SBetaThal, SE) and 87 normal (AA) and/or sickle cell trait (AS) sickle cell cases. We observed a significant difference in the height/age ratio (P ¥). Conclusion: The results of our study revealed stunted growth in children with sickle cell disease.

Introduction: Children involved in road accidents most often suffer head or limb injuries. The severity of these injuries varies according to the age of the child, the type of road user and whether or not protective devices are used. The aim of this study was to carry out a census of admissions and to identify the epidemiological and clinical profile of children involved in road traffic accidents at Donka National Hospital. Methods: This is a descriptive cross-sectional study of children involved in traffic accidents over a 3-month period from September 1 to November 30, 2021. All children admitted to the emergency department for a traffic accident were included in the study. Results: During the study period, 435/530 children (82.1%) were victims of road accidents. Boys accounted for 54.94% of cases, compared with 45.06% for girls. The age group most affected was 12-17 years old (48.97%). October had the highest accident rate (36.4%). Pedestrians are most affected (52.87%). Bicycles and mopeds were involved in 59.77% of accidents. Head injury was the most frequent pathology (33.33%). The study showed that 12.64% of victims were referred to intensive care, pediatric surgery, etc. We recorded 8 cases of death (1.84%). Conclusion: This study highlighted the characteristics, incidence and risk factors for accidents in children admitted to emergency departments. Accident prevention, particularly serious accidents in children, requires more precise knowledge of the factors and circumstances leading to their occurrence.

In Mali, cholesteatoma surgery remains a challenge due to the limited number of otological practitioners, and the low socio-economic level of patients reflecting the difficulties in performing CT or MRI for post-operative follow-up. We therefore initiated this work with the objective of analyzing, through a broad bibliographic review, the clinical, paraclinical, topographical, therapeutic and progressive aspects of a series of ear cholesteatoma. Materials and Method: This was a retrospective and prospective, descriptive study that took place in the ENT and head and neck surgery department of the Gabriel Touré University Hospital over 36 months from November 2020 to October 2023. These were patients admitted to the department for chronic cholestematous otitis media. Result: In total, we collected 34 files of patients admitted for cholesteatoma. This represented 9% of cases compared to all otological surgeries carried out during the same period, i.e. 362 cases. The average age of our patients was 35.31 years, with extremes ranging from 7 years to 80 years, there were 24 men and 10 women, i.e. a M/F ratio of 2.4. The average time to diagnosis was 7 years. The main functional signs were dominated by chronic fetid purulent otorrhea associated with hypoacusis in 94.6% of cases. One case of meningeal complication and three cases of cerebral empyema were reported. Clinically, a postero-superior and marginal tympanic perforation was observed in 53%, a retraction pocket in 5.9%, the sentinel polyp in 9%, and a non-marginal tympanic perforation in 32%. Pure-tone audiometry performed preoperatively for all patients showed conductive hearing loss in 83%. In 82% of cases we created a recess with the creation of a mini box. An ossiculoplasty was performed immediately with fragments of cartilage. The postoperative course found the disappearance of otorrhea (88.23%), the persistence of otorrhea in one case, two cases of facial paralysis, and one case of tinnitus. We did not identify

Greenhouse gas （GHG） emissions from the surface soils and surface water receiving animal excreta may be important components of the GHG balance of terrestrial ecosystems, but the associated processes are poorly documented in tropical environments, especially in tropical arid and semi-arid areas. A typical sylvo-pastoral landscape in the semi-arid zone of Senegal, West Africa, was investigated in this study. The study area （706 km2 of managed pastoral land） was a circular zone with a radius of 15 km centered on a borehole used to water livestock. The landscape supports a stocking rate ranging from 0.11 to 0.39 tropical livestock units per hectare depending on the seasonal movements of the livestock. Six landscape units were investigated （land in the vicinity of the borehole, natural ponds, natural rangelands, forest plantations, settlements, and enclosed plots）. Carbon dioxide （CO2）, nitrous oxide （N2O） and methane （CH4） fluxes were measured with static chambers set up at 13 sites covering the six landscape units, and the 13 sites are assumed to be representative of the spatial heterogeneity of the emissions. A total of 216 fluxes were measured during the one-year study period （May 2014 to April 2015）. At the landscape level, soils and surface water emitted an average 19.8 t C-CO2 eq/（hm2.a）（CO2： 82%, N2O： 15%, and CH4： 3%）, but detailed results revealed notable spatial heterogeneity of GHG emissions. CO2 fluxes ranged from 1148.2 （±91.6） mg/（m2.d） in rangelands to 97,980.2 （±4,861.7） mg/（m2.d） in surface water in the vicinity of the borehole. N2O fluxes ranged from 0.6 （±0.1） mg/（m2.d） in forest plantations to 22.6 （±10.8） mg/（m2.d） in the vicinity of the borehole. CH4 fluxes ranged from -3.2 （±0.3） mg/（m2.d） in forest plantations to 8788.5 （±2295.9） mg/（m2.d） from surface water in the vicinity of the borehole. This work was a prospective transversal study over 6 (six) months from May 2 to December 31, 2017 at the Reference Health Center of Commune I and the Chérif la Confessional Health Center in Bamako. The aim was to study the knowledge, attitudes and behavioral practices linked to hemorrhoids in Commune I of the Bamako district, to evaluate the frequency of hemorrhoidal disease, to determine the knowledge, attitudes and behavioral practices linked to hemorrhoids among patients, their companions and traditional therapists in Commune I of the district of Bamako and the factors which influence the motivations and decisions to resort to medical-surgical care and traditional medicine in patients suffering from hemorrhoids in order to analyze the results of the management of hemorrhoidal disease at Cs Ref CI. We collected 36 patients with hemorrhoidal disease, 25 caregivers and 15 traditional hemorrhoidal disease therapists. The sex ratio was 1.25 for patients;6.5 for traditional therapists and 1.5 for accompanying people. The average age of the patients was 32.75 years;49 years for traditional therapists and 28.76 years for those accompanying them. 55.6% of patients claim to know about hemorrhoidal disease;100% of traditional therapists and 80% of accompanying people. The dietary factor of hemorrhoidal disease was mentioned by 90% of patients;66.7% of traditional therapists and 100% of caregivers. Most patients initially resorted to traditional treatment out of fear of surgery and its after-effects. The patients were treated medically and surgically.

随着科学技术地发展,通信技术面临着许多困难,尤其是在安全、科学研究及商务服务等重要领域中面临着很大的挑战。本文主要研究移动自组网络中路由协议的性能分析。移动自组网是计算机通信中一个新的概念。用户可以通过移动自组网这种临时和无中心管理的网络互相通信。每个节点在网络中即作为主机又作为路由器,它可为其它节点转发数据包,所以需要一个路由协议实现数据包的转发。本文介绍和分析了Dynamic Source Routing(DSR),Ad hoe On-Demand Vector(AODV)及其它协议。我们需要根据移动自组网络具体情况和协议自身特点来选择合适的路由协议.通过使用一些标准来评价路由协议的性能,将移动自组网络中的路由协议分为两大部分(简单情况和复杂情况),不同类型协议适应于具体不同的网络。本文分析了用来转发数据与交叉点通信工作点的位置、节点信号传输的辐射区域及一些数学方程.通过Visual Basic编程实现了计算中转工作点的位置和数目,并给出了模拟分析结果。同时使用Java编程语言实现了动态源路由协议(DSR),通过采用Socket(输入/输出)发送和接收消息的方法模拟分析了DSR协议。最后,论文探讨了应用GloMoSim分析网络性能,论文中给出了不同协议在不同网络环境下的应用效果。论文最后给出了移动自组网络中的主要研究方向和进步的研究工作。

Overview and aim:The precocity of sexual intercourse among adolescent girls is a prominent source of unwanted ***,we aim to survey the past issues relating to the pregnancy,childbirth,and materno-fetal prognosis of Ivorian adolescent ***:We conducted a retrospsective study with adolescent group(n=1040)versus young adult group aged 20 to 24(n=736)over three years from1st January 2016 to 31rd December 2018 at the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Abidjan-Yopougon *** and fetal outcomes of the two groups were analyzed and compared by using Pearson's Chi2 tests and Fisher's exact tests,followed by multivariate analysis and logistic regression using Stata software version ***:The average age of adolescent girls in our study was 17.45 years(SD=1.39)and a minimum of 12 *** consulted less(P<0.0001)and later(P<0.0001)versus young adults aged 20 to *** proportion of adolescent girls(47.6%)versus young adults(39.1%)who had underwent caesarean section was significantly higher(P=0.0004).These adolescents were 3.5-fold more likely to develop hypertension and its complications in the postpartum period and 2.5-fold more likely to contract a postpartum *** mortality was not significantly associated with adolescence(OR=0.52)(95%CI:0.22–1.19;P=0.0891).The risk of prematurity,early neonatal death,and neonatal admission were 2.02(95%CI:1.56–2.63;P<0.0001),1.55(95%CI:1.14–2.13;P=0.0040),and 1.73(95%CI:1.12–2.71;P=0.0097)in adolescence,***:Adolescent childbirth remains associated with a poor prognosis.
