An Improved Approach for Interaction of Wave with Floating Spheres and Its Applications

To develop and utilize marine resources in the deep sea, the higher requirements for floating structures, which are operated in marine environment for a long term, have been put forward. Reasonable structure type and accurate force analysis are favorable guarantees to improve the survival performance and working performance of the floating structures. Floating spheres fastened by mooring cable were widely used in floating structures. In this paper, the wave forces of the floating sphere are efficiently and accurately calculated by solving the geometric relationship between the non-submerged floating sphere and wave surface. Combined with the hydrodynamic calculation of mooring cables based on the lumped mass method, the coupled motion model of multi-floating spheres fastened by multi-mooring cable was established under wave action. Furthermore, according to the floating structures fastened by mooring cable in the actual ocean engineering, the topological method of multi-mooring cables fastening the multifloating spheres was expounded from simple to complex. Finally, the modeling method and preliminarily hydrodynamic characteristics of the fastened floating structures, including the mooring system of renewable energy devices, ocean buoy, and coral nursery, were presented and analyzed in detail. The obtained results showed that the method for calculating the wave force on the floating sphere developed in this paper can accurately describe the motion process of the floating mooring sphere and the force on the mooring cable. Also, the topological method of multiple buoys and multiple mooring cables could efficiently establish various numerical hydrodynamic models of fastened buoys in ocean engineering.

Recent studies have shown that cellular levels of polyamines(PAs)are significantly altered in neurodegenerative diseases.Evidence from in vivo animal and in vitro cell experiments suggests that the cellular levels of various PAs may play important roles in the central nervous system through the regulation of oxidative stress,mitochondrial metabolism,cellular immunity,and ion channel functions.Dysfunction of PA metabolism related enzymes also contributes to neuronal injury and cognitive impairment in many neurodegenerative diseases.Therefore,in the current work,evidence was collected to determine the possible associations between cellular levels of PAs,and related enzymes and the development of several neurodegenerative diseases,which could provide a new idea for the treatment of neurodegenerative diseases in the future.

Dual-responsive supramolecular photodynamic nanomedicine with activatable immunomodulation for enhanced antitumor therapy

A major challenge facing photodynamic therapy(PDT) is that the activity of the immuneinduced infiltrating CD8^(+)T cells is subject to the regulatory T lymphocytes(Tregs), leaving the tumor at risk of recurrence and metastasis after the initial ablation. To augment the antitumor response and reprogram the immunosuppressive tumor microenvironment(TME), a supramolecular photodynamic nanoparticle(DACss) is constructed by the host-guest interaction between demethylcantharidin-conjugated β-cyclodextrin(DMC-CD) and amantadine-terminated disulfide-conjugated FFVLGGGC peptide with chlorin e6 decoration(Ad-ss-pep-Ce6) to achieve intelligent delivery of photosensitizer and immunomodulator for breast cancer treatment. The acid-labile β-carboxamide bond of DMC-CD is hydrolyzed in response to the acidic TME, resulting in the localized release of DMC and subsequent inhibition of Tregs.The guest molecule Ad-ss-pep-Ce6 can be cleaved by a high level of intracellular GSH, reducing photosensitizer toxicity and increasing photosensitizer retention in the tumor. With a significant increase in the CTL/Treg ratio, the combination of Ce6-based PDT and DMC-mediated immunomodulation adequately achieved spatiotemporal regulation and remodeling of the TME, as well as improved primary tumor and in situ lung metastasis suppression with the aid of PD-1 antibody.

Efficacy and safety of Yangxue Qingnao Granules in treatment of migraine:A systematic review and meta-analysis

BACKGROUND Yangxue Qingnao Granules(YXQN)is a Chinese patent medicine that has been commonly used in the clinical treatment of migraine.AIM To assess the efficacy and safety of YXQN alone for the treatment of migraine.METHODS We searched 10 databases to identify relevant randomized controlled trials(RCTs)published before September 2022.Two review authors independently searched and screened the literature,extracted the data,and assessed the methodological quality of the studies using criteria from ROB 2.0,and analyzed the data using Review Manager 5.4 software.RESULTS A total of 12 RCTs including 767 participants with migraine met the selection criteria.We divided these studies into comparisons of YXQN with placebo,routine treatment drugs,and other Chinese patent medicines.The meta-analysis showed the following:(1)Efficacy:The YXQN group outperformed the placebo group[relative risk(RR)=0.29,95%confidence interval(95%CI):0.15–0.43,P<0.00001],routine treatment group(RR=0.18,95%CI:0.09–0.27,P<0.0001),and Chinese patent medicine group(RR=0.27,95%CI:0.13–0.41,P<0.001);(2)frequency of headache:There was a significant difference between YXQN vs placebo[mean difference(MD)=-1.25,95%CI:-1.60 to-0.90,P<0.00001],routine treatment drugs(MD=-0.85,95%CI:-1.15 to-0.56,P<0.00001),and Chinese patent medicine(MD=-0.91,95%CI:-1.35 to-0.46,P<0.0001);(3)headache duration:We found great heterogeneity between studies,with no differences between YXQN and placebo(MD=-0.61,95%CI:-1.53 to-0.31,P=0.19)and routine treatment drugs(MD=-0.22,95%CI:-0.89 to 0.46,P<0.53).YXQN was more effective than other Chinese patent medicines in reducing headache duration(MD=-1.24,95%CI:-1.70 to-0.77,P<0.00001);and(4)headache severity:There was no significant difference between YXQN vs placebo(MD=-1.67,95%CI:-3.52 to 0.19,P=0.08),routine treatment drugs(MD=-0.53,95%CI:-2.02 to 0.96,P=0.68),and other Chinese patent medicines(MD=-0.49,95%CI:-2.83 to 1.85,P=0.68).Mild gastrointestinal adverse reactions were reported in three cases.CONCLUSION This study revealed t

Graphene is one of the most promising candidates for integrated circuits due to its robustness against short-channel effects, inherent high carrier mobility and desired gapless nature for Ohmic contact, but it is difficult to achieve satisfactory on/off ratios even at the expense of its carrier mobility, limiting its device applications. Here, we present a strategy to realize high back-gate switching ratios in a graphene monolayer with well-maintained high mobility by forming a vertical heterostructure with a black phosphorus multi-layer. By local current annealing, strain is introduced within an established area of the graphene, which forms a reflective interface with the rest of the strain-free area and thus generates a robust off-state via local current depletion. Applying a positive back-gate voltage to the heterostructure can keep the black phosphorus insulating, while a negative back-gate voltage changes the black phosphorus to be conductive because of hole accumulation. Then, a parallel channel is activated within the strain-free graphene area by edge-contacted electrodes, thereby largely inheriting the intrinsic carrier mobility of graphene in the on-state. As a result, the device can provide an on/off voltage ratio of >10～3 as well as a mobility of ～8000 cm2V-1s-1at room temperature, meeting the low-power criterion suggested by the International Roadmap for Devices and Systems.

A variety of electromagnetic wave absorption materials(EMWAs)have been reported,but the integration of powder materials and multifunctional devices should be investigated in-depth to adapt to practical demands.Herein,carbon-coated cobalt composites were prepared by adsorbing magnetic metal cations into an anionic crystalline framework through an electrostatic encapsulate process.Excellent reflection loss(RL_(min))of-40.49 d B and effective absorption bandwidth(EAB)of 5.36 GHz(RL<-10 d B,10.4-15.76 GHz)was achieved with an optimal radar cross section(RCS)reduction of 34.9 dB·m^(2) for the sample tested.For commercial applications,Co@CN-4 was integrated into sodium carboxymethyl cellulose(CMC)aerogel to create an ultra-lightweight composite aerogel that is compressive resistant and heat-holding while also having photothermal conversion capabilities.The hydrophobic modification makes it more widely useful.This study provides a new strategy for EWAMs to integrate versatility and improve their application prospects.

MnO-pillared graphene blocks enabling the ultrastable and ultrafast aqueous zinc ion batteries

Due to the low cost, high theoretical capacity, and environmental friendliness, manganese-based cathodes are regarded as promising alternatives for aqueous zinc ion batteries（AZIBs）. However, the practicality of the zinc-manganese system is faced with great challenges, such as the inevitable structural collapse of the cathode and controversial energy storage mechanisms.Herein, we propose a novel concept of spatial deposition mechanism through the addition of MnSO4additives in the MnOpillared graphene blocks（G-MnO）. The covalent interface between MnO nanoparticles and multilayered graphene nanosheets can construct an in-built micro-electric field, which is beneficial for consecutive electron transfer（in both horizontal and vertical directions）. On this basis, the surficial activity of MnO confined in the interlayered nano-space is greatly enhanced and provides enough spatial deposition and subsequent reaction site for MnSO4additives, thus firstly extending the surficial controlled process to stereoscopic space, effectively improving the electrochemical performance of AZIBs. Therefore, the assembled Zn//G-MnO battery exhibits an excellent rate capability of 281.5 mAh g-1at 0.1 A g-1and 106 m Ah g-1at 20 A g-1, and impressive cycling stability(93 m Ah g-1remaining after 5,000 cycles). This finding may provide a new opportunity for the rational design of surficial controlled energy storage and conversion devices.

精馏技术提纯六氟化铀是铀转化工艺的重要环节,该精馏工艺的模拟可为工艺设计及操作优化提供关键支撑。然而,由于六氟化铀及氟化物汽液相平衡数据及物性数据的缺乏,六氟化铀提纯精馏工艺的建模和模拟难以开展。为此,利用COSMOtherm和Turbomole软件,预测UF_(6)与TiF_(4)二元体系汽液相平衡数据。通过预测已知的WF_(6)-UF_(6)二元体系汽液相平衡实验数据以间接验证COSMO-RS模型预测的准确性。利用Aspen Plus软件的物性常数估算系统(property constant estimation system),估算出缺失的无限稀释水溶液Gibbs生成能等物性参数。文献中UF_(6)饱和蒸气压实验数据与模拟值进行对比,相对误差在1.76%以内。根据文献中的实验数据和预测的汽液相平衡数据,利用Aspen Plus软件回归NRTL模型的二元交互作用参数。针对六氟化铀及氟化物的分离,设计直接分离序列和间接分离序列提纯UF_(6)的两种方案。设定UF_(6)产品纯度,以总年度费用(TAC)最小化为目标,采用灵敏度分析对塔板数、进料位置和回流比的关键参数进行优化,结果表明,间接分离序列提纯UF_(6)方案的TAC更低。

Weight change and all-cause and cause-specific mortality: A 25-year follow-up study

Background: Whether the dynamic weight change is an independent risk factor for mortality remains controversial. This study aimed to examine the association between weight change and risk of all-cause and cause-specific mortality based on the Linxian Nutrition Intervention Trial (NIT) cohort.Methods: Body weight of 21,028 healthy residents of Linxian, Henan province, aged 40-69 years was measured two times from 1986 to 1991. Outcome events were prospectively collected up to 2016. Weight maintenance group (weight change <2 kg) or stable normal weight group was treated as the reference. Cox proportional hazard model was performed to calculate hazard ratios (HRs) and 95% confidence intervals (95% CIs) to estimate the risk of mortality.Results: A total of 21,028 subjects were included in the final analysis. Compared with the weight maintenance group, subjects with weight loss ≥2 kg had an increased risk of death from all-cause (HRAll-cause = 1.14, 95% CI: 1.09-1.19,P <0.001), cancer (HRCancer = 1.12, 95% CI: 1.03-1.21,P = 0.009), and heart disease (HRHeart diseases = 1.21, 95% CI: 1.11-1.31,P <0.001), whereas subjects with weight gain ≥5 kg had 11% (HRCancer = 0.89, 95% CI: 0.79-0.99,P = 0.033) lower risk of cancer mortality and 23% higher risk of stroke mortality (HRStroke = 1.23,95% CI: 1.12-1.34,P <0.001). For the change of weight status, both going from overweight to normal weight and becoming underweight within 5 years could increase the risk of total death (HROverweight to normal = 1.18, 95% CI: 1.09-1.27; HRBecoming underweight = 1.35, 95% CI: 1.25-1.46) and cancer death (HROverweight to normal = 1.20, 95% CI: 1.04-1.39; HRBecoming underweight = 1.44, 95% CI: 1.24-1.67), while stable overweight could increase the risk of total death (HRStable overweight = 1.11, 95% CI: 1.05-1.17) and death from stroke (HRStable overweight = 1.44, 95% CI: 1.33-1.56).
