Plant pathogenic oomycetes deliver a troop of effector proteins into the nucleus of host cells to manipulate plant cellular immunity and promote ***,researchers have focused on identifying how effectors are transferred into the host cell nucleus,as well as the identity of the nuclear *** this study,we found that the RxLR effector PvAVH53 from the grapevine(Vitis vinifera)oomycete pathogen Plasmopara viticola physically interacts with grapevine nuclear import factor importin alphas(VvImpαand VvImpα4),localizes to the nucleus and triggers cell death when transiently expressed in tobacco(Nicotiana benthamiana)*** of a nuclear localization signal(NLS)sequence from PvAVH53 or addition of a nuclear export signal(NES)sequence disrupted the nuclear localization of PvAVH53 and attenuated its ability to trigger cell *** of two tobacco importin-αgenes,namely,NbImp-α1 and NbImp-α2,by virus-induced gene silencing(VIGS)also disrupted the nuclear localization and ability of PvAVH53 to induce cell ***,we transiently silenced the expression of VvImpα/α4 in grape through CRISPR/Cas13a,which has been reported to target RNA in ***,we found that attenuating the expression of the Importin-αs genes resulted in increased susceptibility to the oomycete pathogen Phytophthora capsici in *** and *** in *** results demonstrate that importin-αs are required for the nuclear localization and function of PvAVH53 and are essential for host innate *** findings provide insight into the functions of importin-αs in grapevine against downy mildew.

Model-Free Feature Screening via Maximal Information Coefficient (MIC) for Ultrahigh-Dimensional Multiclass Classification

It is common for datasets to contain both categorical and continuous variables. However, many feature screening methods designed for high-dimensional classification assume that the variables are continuous. This limits the applicability of existing methods in handling this complex scenario. To address this issue, we propose a model-free feature screening approach for ultra-high-dimensional multi-classification that can handle both categorical and continuous variables. Our proposed feature screening method utilizes the Maximal Information Coefficient to assess the predictive power of the variables. By satisfying certain regularity conditions, we have proven that our screening procedure possesses the sure screening property and ranking consistency properties. To validate the effectiveness of our approach, we conduct simulation studies and provide real data analysis examples to demonstrate its performance in finite samples. In summary, our proposed method offers a solution for effectively screening features in ultra-high-dimensional datasets with a mixture of categorical and continuous covariates.

Hydrogen sulfide(H_(2)S)detection remains a significant concern and the sensitivity,selectivity,and detection limit must be balanced at low ***,we utilized a facile solvothermal method to prepare Cu-doped SnO_(2)/rGO nanocomposites that have emerged as promising candidate materials for H_(2)S *** of the Cu-SnO_(2)/rGO was carried out to determine its surface morphology,chemical composition,and crystal *** optimal sensor response for 10 ppm H_(2)S was~1415.7 at 120℃,which was over 320 times higher than that seen for pristine SnO_(2)CQDs(R_(a)/R_(g)=4.4)at 280℃.Moreover,the sensor material exhibited excellent selectivity,a superior linear working range(R^(2)=0.991,1-150 ppm),a fast response time(31 s to 2 ppm),and ppb-level H_(2)S detection(R_(a)/R_(g)=1.26 to 50 ppb)at 120℃.In addition,the sensor maintained a high performance even at extremely high humidity(90%)and showed outstanding long-term *** superb H_(2)S sensing properties were attributed to catalytic sensitization by the Cu dopant and a synergistic effect of the Cu-SnO_(2)and rGO,which offered abundant active sites for O_(2)and H_(2)S absorption and accelerated the transfer of electrons/holes.

Strategies for optimizing the thermoelectricity of PbTe alloys

The thermoelectric materials have been considered as a potential candidate for the new power generation technology based on their reversible heat and electricity *** telluride（Pb Te） is regarded as an excellent mid-temperature thermoelectric material due to its suitable intrinsic thermoelectric *** tremendous efforts have been done to improve the thermoelectric performance of Pb Te,and figures of merit,zT 〉 2.0,have been *** strategies for optimizing the thermoelectric performance have been focused as the main line of this *** band engineering and phonon scattering engineering as two main effective strategies are systemically summarized *** band engineering,like band convergence,resonant levels,and band flatting have been addressed in improving the power ***,phonon scattering engineerings,such as atomic-scale,nano-scale,meso-scale,and multi-scale phonon scatterings have been applied to reduce the thermal ***,some successful synergistic effects based on band engineerings and phonon scatterings are illustrated as a simultaneous way to optimize both the power factor and thermal *** the above three main parts,we point out that the synergistic effects should be effectively exploited,and these may further boost the thermoelectric performance of Pb Te alloys and can be extended to other thermoelectric materials.

Effects of mixed fertilizers formed by the compounding of two targeted controlled-release nitrogen fertilizers on yield,nitrogen use efficiency,and ammonia volatilization in double-cropping rice

One-time application of mixed fertilizer formed by the compounding of two controlled-release nitrogen fertilizers(CRUs)with targeted N supply during the periods from transplantation(TS)to panicle initiation(PI)and from PI to heading(HS)is expected to synchronize the double-peak N demand of ***,its effects on the yield and N use efficiency(NUE)of labor-intensive double-cropping rice were *** targeted CRU(CRU_(A)and CRU_(B))were compounded in five ratios(CRU_(A):CRU_(B)=10:0,7:3,5:5,3:7,and 0:10)to form five mixed fertilizers(BBFs):BBF1-5.A field experiment was performed to investigate the characteristics of N supply in early and late seasons under different BBFs and their effects on N uptake,yield,and ammonia volatilization(AV)loss from paddy fields of double-cropping *** high-yield fertilization(CK,three split applications of urea)and zero-N treatments were established as *** N supply dropped significantly with the increased compound ratio of CRU_(B)during the period from TS to PI,but increased during the period from PI to *** the exception of the period from TS to PI in the late rice season,the N uptake of early and late rice maintained close synchronicity with the N supply of BBFs during the double-peak *** N supply(BBF1 and BBF2)in the late rice season during the period from TS to PI increased N loss by *** effect of BBF on grain yield increase varied widely between seasons,irrespective of *** the BBFs,the BBF2 treatment of early rice not only stabilized the spikelets per panicle but also ensured a high number of effective panicles by promoting N uptake during the period from TS to PI and a high grain-filling percentage by appropriately reducing the N supply at the later PI stage,resulting in the highest rice *** stabilizing the effective panicle number,the BBF4 treatment of late rice increased the number of spikelets per panicle by promoting N uptake during the period from PI to HS,resul

CsGDH2.1 negatively regulates theanine accumulation in late-spring tea plants (Camellia sinensis var. sinensis)

A New Photogrammetric Inspection Method for National Flags with Pentagrams

National flags are very important symbols of *** represent the countries’s authority and dignity of a ***,there are some occasions where the flags were produced incorrectly(or as frauds)but still hung officially without a formal *** this paper,we propose a photogrammetric inspection method for hanging national flags of China,for which only one single image is required to perform the *** proposed method allows automatic estimation of the relative positions and orientation of the pentagrams,so exposure of inappropriate flags can be identified *** method invokes a novel 2D geometric model of a pentagram(five-pointed star)to constrain an adjustment to estimate the camera’s exterior orientation parameters based on a single image of a statically hung *** error parameters such as the radial distortion parameters are integrated into the pentagram model to form a calibration process to reduce the 3D reconstruction *** the camera and the distortion parameters are estimated,the relative positions,orientations,and dimensions of all the five pentagrams can be readily computed with independent pentagram fitting so the flag quality can be verified using the national *** than 20 different hanging flags were captured to verify the proposed *** results indicate that the method is flexible and accurate,with an accuracy of 1.1mm for the position/dimension,and 0.2°for the orientation on *** the method is based on the proposed geometric model of the pentagram,it can be readily adapted to form another system to verify other countries’national flags containing more than one pentagram.

Functions of Nitrogen,Phosphorus and Potassium in Energy Status and Their Influences on Rice Growth and Development

Nitrogen(N),phosphorus(P)and potassium(K)are important essential nutrients for plant growth and development,but their functions in energy status remains ***,we grew Nipponbare rice seedlings in a growth chamber for 20 d at 30℃/24℃day/night)under natural sunlight conditions with different nutrient *** results showed that N had the strongest influence on the plant growth and development,followed by P and *** highest nonstructural carbohydrate content,dry matter weight,net photosynthetic rate(Pn),ATP content,as well as NADH dehydrogenase,cytochrome oxidase and ATPase activities were found in the plants that received sufficient N,P and *** lowest values of these parameters were detected in the N-deficient *** dry matter accumulation was observed in the K-deficient than in the P-deficient treatments,but there was no significant difference in the ratio of respiration rate to Pn between these two treatments,suggesting that differences in energy production efficiency may have accounted for this *** hypothesis was confirmed by higher ATP contents and activities of NADH dehydrogenase,cytochrome oxidase and ATPase in the K-deficient plants than in the P-deficient *** therefore inferred different abilities in energy production efficiency among N,P and K in rice seedlings,which determined rice plant growth and development.
