The role of aerial algae in the formation of the landscape of the Yunnan Stone Forest,Yunnan Province, china

Aerial algae on the surface of carbonate rocks at the Stone Forest, Shilin County, Yunnan Province, china, and their bioerosion were investigated in the field and studied in the laboratory in detail. Through the observation, identification and statistics of more than one hun- dred algal samples and rock samples with the optical microscopes (stereomicroscope, biological microscope) and the scanning electronic microscope (SEM), the relationships between erosional forms on the surface of the Stone Forest and algae and/or algal communities and the genetic mechanism for the formation of erosional forms were analyzed. It is suggested that aerial algae play an active role in bioerosive processes that may affect the formation of karst erosional forms. These effects include both direct and indirect ones. The direct effect is the initiative control (algal shape-controlling role) of algae on the formation of karst forms of various scales, mostly mi- cro-scale (3.) and minor-scale (10-3.10-1m) erosional forms. The algal shape-controlling roles can be divided into the algal individual shape-controlling role and the algal community shape-controlling role. The former mostly controls the formation of micro-scale erosional forms, while the latter mostly controls the formation of micro-scale and smaller minor-scale erosional forms. The indirect effect refers to the promoting role of algae in the formation of karst forms, which may affect the formation of karst forms of all types and scales. The bioerosion of algae accelerates the weathering process of the whole Stone Forest karst landforms.

The neutron total cross section data of^(9)Be are essential in the nuclear structure model research of light nuclei and nuclear power *** neutron total cross section of^(9)Be in the 0.3.eV−12. MeV energy region has been measured using time-of-flight and transmission methods with the Neutron Total Cross Sectional Spectrometer(NTOX)based on the multi-cell fast fission chamber at the{2. Spallation Neutron Source(CSNS)-Back-n white neutron source(Back-n).The fission count-neutron energy distributions of ^(2.1})U and ^(2.1})U without samples and with Be samples with three thicknesses were measured in the double-bunch operation mode for a beam power of 100 *** Bayesian method was used to eliminate the influence of the double-bunch problem on neutron measurement in the energy region above 10 *** neutron total cross section of^(9)Be results was consistent with ENDF/B-VIII.0 evaluation library data in the 0.3.eV−2. MeV energy *** the energy ranges of 0.3.eV to 10 keV and 0.01 to 2. MeV,the deviations between our results and the evaluation results of ENDF/B-VIII.0 were within 2.5%and 15%,*** the resonance energy region,the measured resonance energies in our experiment were 0.63.0.82.and 2.8 MeV,*** results showed that the total cross section uncertainties of three Be samples were within 2.2.in the energy region below 1 *** total cross section uncertainty of 3. mm Be from ^(2.1})U was the smallest and less than 5%in the energy region of 0.3.eV−12. *** results of this experiment can provide technical support for further data analysis and related nuclear data evaluation.

Cropland redistribution to marginal land has been reported worldwide;however,the resulting impacts on environmental sustainability have not been investigated *** we investigated the environmental impacts of cropland redistribution in *** a result of urbanization-induced loss of high-quality croplands in south china(～8.5 t ha),croplands expanded to marginal lands in northeast(～4.5 t ha) and northwest china(～2.9 t ha) during 1990-{2.5 to pursue food ***,the reclamation in these low-yield and ecologically vulnerable zones considerably undermined local environmental sustainability,for example increasing wind erosion(+3.47%),irrigation water consumption(+3..42.),fertilizer use(+2..02.) and decreasing {3. habitats(-3.11%).Forecasts show that further reclamation in marginal lands per current policies would exacerbate environmental costs by *** future cropland security risk will be remarkably intensified because of the conflict between food production and environmental *** {3. suggests that globally emerging reclamation of marginal lands should be restricted and crop yield boost should be encouraged for both food security and environmental benefits.

碳点作为一种新型的碳基荧光纳米粒子由于其可调谐发光、高光稳定性、生物相容性和低成本等独特优势而引起了很多关注。在过去的十几年中,碳点的制备和应用取得了巨大进展。然而,由于前体和合成方法的多样性,碳点的光致发光机理具有很大争议。现在人们普遍认为,碳点的光致发光源于电子在带隙的跃迁,并将荧光起源分别归结为碳核跃迁(π-π~*)、表面态跃迁(n-π~*)以及分子荧光团等。本文总结了碳点发光起源的几种可能和机制,分别讨论了通过调控碳点粒径以及进行表面工程处理的方法来实现碳纳米点带隙可调控的高效发光。介绍了通过表面工程、元素掺杂等手段提升碳纳米点光致发光量子产率及其在光电器件、信息存储、生物成像、光热治疗以及光动力治疗中的应用。

The ^(2.0})Th(n,f)cross section is very important in basic nuclear physics and applications based on the Th/U fuel *** the time-of-flight method and a multi-cell fast-fission ionization chamber,a novel measurement of the^(2.0})Th(n,f)cross sec-tion relative to^(2.0})U in the 1–2.0 MeV range was performed at the china Spallation Neutron Source Back-n white neutron source(Back-n).The fission event-neutron energy spectra of^(2.0})Th and^(2.0})U fission cells were measured in the single-bunch *** 2.0}Th/2.0}U fission cross-sectional ratios were obtained,and the measurement uncertainties were 2.5–3.7%for energies in the 2.2. MeV range and 3.6–6.2.for energies in the 2.–2.0 MeV ***^(2.0})Th(n,f)cross section was obtained by introducing the standard cross section of^(2.0})U(n,f).The results were compared with those of previous theoreti-cal calculations,measurements,and *** measured 2.0}Th fission cross section agreed with the main evaluation results in terms of the experimental uncertainty,and 2.0}Th fission resonances were observed in the 1–3.MeV *** present results provide^(2.0})Th(n,f)cross-sectional data for the evaluation and design of Th/U cycle nuclear systems.

The Circular Electron Positron Collider(CEPC)is a large scientific project initiated and hosted by china,fostered through extensive collaboration with international *** complex comprises four accelerators:a 3. In iron-based superconductors,the(0,π) or(π,0) nematicity,which describes an electronic anisotropy with a fourfold symmetry breaking,is well established and believed to be important for understanding the superconducting ***,how exactly such a nematic order observed in the normal state can be related to the superconducting pairing is still ***,by performing angular-dependent in-plane magnetoresistivity using ultra-thin flakes in the steep superconducting transition region,we unveil a nematic superconducting order along the(π,π) direction in electron-doped BaFe_(2.x)Ni_(x)As_(2. from under-doped to heavily overdoped regimes with x=0.065- *** shows superconducting gap maxima along the(π,π) direction rotated by 45° from the nematicity along(0, π) or(π,0) direction observed in the normal state.A similar(π,π)-type nematicity is also observed in the under-doped and optimally doped hole-type Ba1-yKyFe2.As_(2.,with y=*** results suggest that the(π,π) nematic superconducting order is a universal feature that needs to be taken into account in the superconducting pairing mechanism in iron-based superconductors.

Back-streaming neutrons from the spallation target of the china Spallation Neutron Source(CSNS)that emit through the incoming proton channel were exploited to build a white neutron beam facility(the so-called Back-n white neutron source),which was completed in March *** Back-n neutron beam is very intense,at approximately 2.107 n/cm2.s at 55 m from the target,and has a nominal proton beam with a power of 100 kW in the CSNS-I phase and a kinetic energy of 1.6 GeV and a thick tungsten target in multiple slices with modest moderation from the cooling water through the *** addition,the excellent energy spectrum spanning from 0.5 eV to 2.0 MeV,and a good time resolution related tothe time-of-flight measurements make it a typical white neutron source for nuclear data measurements;its overall performance is among that of the best white neutron sources in the *** with advanced spectrometers,detectors,and application utilities,the Back-n facility can serve wide applications,with a focus on neutron-induced cross-sectional *** article presents an overview of the neutron beam characteristics,the experimental setups,and the ongoing applications at Backn.
