Effects of virtual agents on interaction efficiency and environmental immersion in MR environments

Background Physical entity interactions in mixed reality(MR)environments aim to harness human capabilities in manipulating physical objects,thereby enhancing virtual environment(VEs)*** MR,a common strategy is to use virtual agents as substitutes for physical entities,balancing interaction efficiency with environmental ***,the impact of virtual agent size and form on interaction performance remains *** Two experiments were conducted to explore how virtual agent size and form affect interaction performance,immersion,and preference in MR *** first experiment assessed five virtual agent sizes(25%,50%,75%,100%,and 125%of physical size).The second experiment tested four types of frames(no frame,consistent frame,half frame,and surrounding frame)across all agent ***,utilizing a head mounted display,performed tasks involving moving cups,typing words,and using a *** completed questionnaires assessing aspects such as the virtual environment effects,interaction effects,collision concerns,and *** Results from the first experiment revealed that agents matching physical object size produced the best overall *** second experiment demonstrated that consistent framing notably enhances interaction accuracy and speed but reduces *** balance efficiency and immersion,frameless agents matching physical object sizes were deemed *** Virtual agents matching physical entity sizes enhance user experience and interaction ***,familiar frames from 2D interfaces detrimentally affect interaction and immersion in virtual *** study provides valuable insights for the future development of MR systems.

A pseudo arc-length method is proposed for the numerical simulation of shock wave propagations. This method passes the discontinuities and establishes adaptive moving meshes in the physical space by introducing the arc-length parameter and transforming the computational domain. Numerical experiments of the Sod problem, double Mach reflection problem and explosion problem demonstrate that this approach is more efficient than traditional numerical methods in capturing and tracking discontinuous solutions of singular or nearly singular problems.

The effect of incubation temperature and wet-dry cycle on the availabilities of Cd, Pb and Zn was studied. Three soils with pH ranging from 3.8 to 7.3, organic carbon （OC） from 0.7% to 2.4%, and clay from 12.3% to 35.6% were selected. Soils were spiked with reagent grade Cd（NO3）2, Pb（NO3）2, and Zn（NO3）2 at concentrations of 30 mg Cd/kg soil, 300 mg Zn/kg soil and 2000 mg Pb/kg soil. The soils were incubated at 35, 60, 105℃, respectively and went through four wet-dry cycles. Metal availability in soils was estimated by soil extraction with 0.1 mol/L Ca（NO3）2. According to this study, the effect of the spiking temperature on the metal availabilities was different among the metals, soils and wet-dry cycles. Mostly, 35 ~C was the first recommended spiking temperature for Cd and Pb while no spiking temperature was obviously better than others for Zn. Three wet-dry cycles was recommended regardless of the type of metals and incubation temperature.

We systematically studied the evaporation residue cross sections of ^(48)Ca-induced reactions on lanthanide and actinide target nuclei under the Dinuclear System(DNS)model framework to check the reliability and applicability of the *** produce new proton-rich Fl and Lv isotopes through hot fusion reactions in the superheavy element region with Z≥104,we utilized the reactions ^(48)Ca+^(236,238,239) Pu and ^(48)Ca+^(242,243,244,250) ***,owing to the detection limit of available equipment(0.1 pb),only 283Fl and 287−289Lv,which have the maximum evaporation residue cross section values of 0.149,0.130,9.522,and 0.309 pb,respectively,can be ***,to produce neutron-deficient isotopes of actinides near the proton drip line with Z=93−100,we attempted to generate the new isotopes(224−227Pu,228−232,237Cm)using the reactions ^(48)Ca+180,182,183 W and ^(48)Ca+^(184,186,187,192) *** maximum evaporation residue cross section values are 0.07,0.06,0.26,and 0.30 nb for the former set of reactions,and 1.96 pb,5.73 pb,12.16 pb,19.39 pb,54.79 pb,and 6.45 nb for the latter,*** results are expected to provide new information for the future synthesis of unknown neutron-deficient isotopes.

This study focuses on compositionally complex alloys（CCAs）,aiming to achieve a balance between high strength and low density for new energy and aerospace *** composition of AlCrFeNiTixCCAs is strategically guided by employing density functional theory and the theoretical design of thermodynamic *** CCAs,particularly AlCrFeNiTi0.25alloy,demonstrate remarkable specific yield strength（1640.8 MPa） and 22.7% maximum *** incorporation of Ti facilitates the formation of lightweight and high-strength L21phase,contributing to the overall high specific *** effects of grain boundary strengthening,solid solution strengthening,Orowan strengthening and Peierls flow stress further enhance *** exploration of micros tructural changes during fracture reveals the role of ordered phases in suppressing crack propagation and absorbing energy within disordered phases,thereby improving the toughness and fracture resistance of *** methods and discoveries establish a robust foundation for advancing the development of novel lightweight CCAs.

In this study,a structure-optimized two-phase microchannel heat sink with sintered submicron nucleation sites was developed and *** copper-based microchannels had a rectangular cross-section with an equivalent hydraulic diameter of 222μ*** subcooled flow boiling characteristics were comprehensively compared between pure HFE-7100 and a non-azeotropic,immiscible binary mixture of HFE-7100 and water,considering heating areas of 1 and 5 cm^(2).The total heating power input to the test section were 100–1500 and 250–3000 W for a 1 and 5 cm^(2)heat source,respectively,with a flow rate ranging from 50 to150 L/*** to pure HFE-7100,the non-azeotropic immiscible binary mixture of HFE-7100/water in the sintered porous microchannels exhibited a much higher overall heat transfer coefficient and lower power *** maintain the junction temperature of a high power electronic chip below 85℃,the proposed supercapillary microchannel heat sink could effectively dissipate the heat flux of 1275 W/cm^(2)over 1 cm^(2)heat source and 500 W/cm^(2)over 5 cm^(2)heat *** addition,the volume ratio of the binary mixture strongly influence the two-phase flow heat transfer *** optimal volume ratio exist in terms of the thermal resistance–pumping power minimization(HFE-7100:water=2:8 is recommended in this study).The findings of this investigation on the flow boiling properties of non-azeotropic immiscible mixtures help fill a gap in the related field.
