Time-dependent model for two-phase flow in ultra-high water-cut reservoirs: Time-varying permeability and relative permeability

For the ultra-high water-cut reservoirs, after long-term water injection exploitation, the physical properties of the reservoir change and the heterogeneity of the reservoir becomes increasingly severe, which further aggravates the spatial difference of the flow field. In this study, the displacement experiments were employed to investigate the variations in core permeability, porosity, and relative permeability after a large amount of water injection. A relative permeability endpoint model was proposed by utilizing the alternating conditional expectation(ACE) transformation to describe the variation in relative permeability based on the experimental data. Based on the time dependent models for permeability and relative permeability, the traditional oil-water two-phase model was improved and discretized using the mimetic finite difference method(MFD). The two cases were launched to confirm the validation of the proposed model. The impact of time-varying physical features on reservoir production performance was studied in a real water flooding reservoir. The experimental results indicate that the overall relative permeability curve shifts to the right as water injection increases. This shift corresponds to a transition towards a more hydrophilic wettability and a decrease in residual oil saturation. The endpoint model demonstrates excellent accuracy and can be applied to time-varying simulations of reservoir physics. The impact of variations in permeability and relative permeability on the reservoir production performance yields two distinct outcomes. The time-varying permeability of the reservoir results in intensified water channeling and poor development effects. On the other hand, the time-varying relative permeability enhances the oil phase seepage capacity, facilitating oil displacement. Deep eutectic solvent-driven self-assembly of metal mercaptide complexes with enzyme-mimicking activities for detection of uric acid through one-step cascade catalytic reaction

This work presents a generic strategy to create a series of metal mercaptides complexes via coordination selfassembly between transition metals(Mn,Cu,Co,Fe,and Ni)and cysteine(Cys)by forming the sulfur-metal *** strategy involves dissolving metal chlorides and Cys into deep eutectic solvents(DES),followed by the precipitation of metal mercaptides complexes(such as Cys-Mn)by adding water as an antisolvent,where DES serves as the solvent,shape directing,and capping agent,thereby preventing the formation of other metal ***,the prepared complexes possess both laccase and peroxidase-like properties,allowing the design of a technique for the detection of L-3,4-dihydroxyphenylalanine(L-DOPA)and uric acid,*** prepared Cys-Mn can linearly oxidize L-DOPA with its concentrations from 0.1 to 130μM and the detection limit was calculated to be 75.5 n ***,the Cys-Mn can mimic the activity of peroxidase towards oxidization of o-phenylenediamine at neutral p H,allowing single-step and one-pot cascade reactions for visual and fluorometric measurements of uric acid(UA)that could work in the range of 0.2-500μM UA with a detection limit of 0.06μM and 0.054μМ,*** assay was successful in detecting UA in serum and urine samples with relative standard deviation(RSD)ranging from 7.3%to 10.2%and 3.0%-8.5%respectively,suggesting that it may prove useful in medical diagnostic testing.

In addition to their pivotal roles in energy storage and expenditure,adipose tissues play a crucial part in the secretion of bioactive molecules,including peptides,lipids,metabolites,and extracellular vesicles,in response to physiological stimulation and met-abolic *** secretory factors,through autocrine and paracrine mechanisms,regulate various processes within adipose *** processes include adipogenesis,glucose and lipid metabolism,inflammation,and adaptive thermogenesis,all of which are essential for the maintenance of the balance and functionality of the adipose tissue micro-environment.A subset of these adipose-derived secretory factors can enter the circulation and target the distant tissues to regulate appetite,cognitive function,energy expenditure,insulin secretion and sensitivity,gluconeogenesis,cardiovascular remodeling,and exercise *** this review,we highlight the role of adipose-derived secretory factors and their signaling pathways in modulating meta-bolic ***,we delve into the alterations in both the content and secretion processes of these factors under various physiological and pathological conditions,shedding light on potential pharmacological treatment strategies for related diseases.

Ultrahigh strength and uniform corrosion in Zn-Li alloys through ultrahigh pressure supersaturated solid solution treatment for biodegradable orthopedic applications

Zn-Li alloys are considered promising candidate materials for biodegradable orthopedic implant applications due to their high mechanical performance and good ***,the presence of a large number of second-phase particles in this class of Zn alloys can lead to severe localized degradation due to micro-galvanic corrosion,which is detrimental to the mechanical integrity of the alloys during tissue healing in the human *** this study we report ultrahigh strength,uniform corrosion,good cytocompatibility,and effective antibacterial ability in Zn-x Li（x=0.3,0.5,0.7;wt%） alloys achieved through supersaturated solid solution treatment （SSST） at 375℃ under ultrahigh pressure of 3 GPa.A high concentration of β-LiZn4phases coexisted with the-Zn matrix in the as-cast Zn-x Li alloys,whereas almost all the Li dissolved into the-Zn matrix of SSST *** yield strength was 437 MPa for SSST Zn-0.3Li,592 MPa for SSST Zn-0.5 Li and 686 MPa for SSST *** SSST Zn-Li alloys showed uniform degradation with remarkably reduced degradation rates compared to their as-cast *** 25% concentration extracts of the Zn-x Li alloys demonstrated no cytotoxicity toward MC3T3-E1 cells,and the alloys exhibited effective antibacterial ability agains methicillin-resistant staphylococcus aureus.

Blautia has attracted attention because of its potential efficacy in ameliorating host energy metabolism and *** study aims to investigate the influences of Blautia producta D4 on colitis induced by dextran sulfate sodium(DSS)and to reveal the underlying *** showed that *** D4 intervention significantly relieved body weight loss,and suppressed the elevation of pro-inflammatory cytokines(including interleukin-6(IL-6),tumor necrosis factor-α(TNF-α),and interleukin-1β(IL-1β))and excessive oxidative stress(myeloperoxidease(MPO)activity,superoxide dismutase(SOD)activity,glutathione peroxidase(GSH-Px)activity,and malondialdehyde(MDA)level)in colitis ***,the concentrations of tight junction proteins(occludin,claudin-1,and ZO-1)related to the intestinal barrier were obviously elevated,and colitis-related TLR4/NF-κB pathway activation was remarkably inhibited after *** D4 *** intestinal microbial disorder was evidently ameliorated by increasing the relative abundance of Clostridium sensu stricto 1,Bifidobacterium,GCA-900066225,Enterorhabdus,and reducing the relative abundance of Lachnospiraceae NK4A136 *** conclusion,oral administration of *** D4 could ameliorate DSS-induced colitis by suppressing inflammatory responses,maintaining the intestinal barrier,inhibiting TLR4/NF-κB pathway,and regulating intestinal microbiota *** results are conducive to accelerate the development of *** D4 as a functional probiotic for colitis.

Studies have proposed that there is evidence for cosmological coupling of black holes(BHs)with an index of k≈3;hence,BHs serve as the astrophysical source of dark ***,the data sample is limited for the redshifts of≤*** recent years,the James Webb Space Telescope(JWST)has detected many high-redshift active galactic nuclei(AGNs)and *** the JWST NIRSpec-/NIRCam-resolved AGNs,three are determined to be in early-type host galaxies with a redshift of z~***,their M_(*)and MBH are in tension with the predicted cosmological coupling of black holes with k=3 at a confidence level of~2σ,which challenges the hypothesis that BHs serve as the origin of dark *** work on high-redshift AGNs using the JWST will further assess such a hypothesis by identifying more early-type host galaxies in the higher mass range.
