Experimental investigation on shear strength deterioration at the interface between different rock types under cyclic loading

The shear strength deterioration of bedding planes between different rock types induced by cyclic loading is vital to reasonably evaluate the stability of soft and hard interbedded bedding rock slopes under earthquake;however,rare work has been devoted to this subject due to lack of *** this study,experimental investigations on shear strength weakening of discontinuities with different joint wall material(DDJM)under cyclic loading were conducted by taking the interface between siltstone and mudstone in the Shaba slope of Yunnan Province,China as research objects.A total of 99 pairs of similar material samples of DDJM(81 pairs)and discontinuities with identical joint wall material(DIJM)(18 pairs)were fabricated by inserting plates,engraved with typical surface morphology obtained by performing three-dimensional laser scanning on natural DDJMs sampled from field,into mold *** shear tests were conducted on these samples to study their shear strength changes with the cyclic number considering the effects of normal stress,joint surface morphology,shear displacement amplitude and shear *** results indicate that the shear stress *** displacement curves under each shear cycle and the peak shear strength *** number curves of the studied DDJMs are between those of DIJMs with siltstone and mudstone,while closer to those of DIJMs with *** peak shear strengths of DDJMs exhibit an initial rapid decline followed by a gradual decrease with the cyclic number and the decrease rate varies from 6%to 55.9%for samples with varied surface morphology under different testing *** normal stress,joint surface morphology,shear displacement amplitude and shear rate collectively influence the shear strength deterioration of DDJM under cyclic shear loading,with the degree of influence being greater for larger normal stress,rougher surface morphology,larger shear displacement amplitude and faster shear rate.

Ultrasound(US)has been applied in clinical practice for its non-invasive and high ***,it is difficult to achieve a satisfactory anti-tumor effect with US ***,the use of US therapy alone can exacerbate tumor *** this study,we prepared hypoxia-activated 6-diazo-5-oxo-L-norleucine(DON)prodrug nanoparticles(HDON-NPs)to improve US therapeutic *** an H22 murine liver cancer model,US therapy selectively disrupted tumor blood vessels,leading to increased tumor hypoxia and a 1.67-fold increase in the expression of nitroreductase(NTR).The combination therapy of US and HDON-NPs demonstrated a synergistic effect,resulting in a tumor suppression rate(TSR)of 90.2%±6.4%,which was 5.93-fold higher than that of US therapy *** combined treatment selectively blocked the glutamine metabolism of the tumor cells while simultaneously activating the T cells in the tumor microenvironment,thereby exerting a robust anti-tumor effect.

The insurmountable charge transfer impedance at the Li metal/solid polymer electrolytes(SPEs)interface at room temperature as well as the ascending risk of short circuits at the operating temperature higher than the melting point,dominantly limits their applications in solid-state batteries(SSBs).Although the inorganic filler such as CeO_(2)nanoparticle content of composite solid polymer electrolytes(CSPEs)can significantly reduce the enormous charge transfer impedance at the Li metal/SPEs interface,we found that the required content of CeO_(2)nanoparticles in SPEs varies for achieving a decent interfacial charge transfer impedance and the bulk ionic conductivity in *** this regard,a sandwich-type composited solid polymer electrolyte with a 10%CeO_(2)CSPEs interlayer sandwiched between two 50%CeO_(2)CSPEs thin layers(sandwiched CSPEs)is constructed to simultaneously achieve low charge transfer impedance and superior ionic conductivity at 30℃.The sandwiched CSPEs allow for stable cycling of Li plating and stripping for 1000 h with 129 mV polarized voltage at 0.1 mA cm^(-2)and 30℃.In addition,the LiFePO_(4)/Sandwiched CSPEs/Li cell also exhibits exceptional cycle performance at 30℃and even elevated120℃without short *** multi-layered CSPEs with optimized contents of the inorganic fillers can be an efficient method for developing all solid-state PEO-based batteries with high performance at a wide range of temperatures.

Mechanism and control of nonuniform phase transformation of microalloyed dual-phase steel during cooling process after hot rolling

After cooling in the hot rolling process,the metallographic structure of microalloyed dual-phase steel is nonuniform along the rolling direction,while the thickness fluctuation of microalloyed dual-phase steel with a nonuniform metallographic structure will occur during cold *** mechanism of nonuniform phase transformation of microalloyed dual-phase steels was studied during the cooling process after hot rolling,and the nonuniform phase transformation of microalloyed dual-phase steel was regulated during the cooling process after hot rolling through process ***,the empirical equation of phase transformation temperature was measured by a dilatometer considering thermal ***,the phase field and temperature field of laminar cooling process were calculated to provide initial boundary conditions for the finite element *** that,the coupling finite element model of the temperature phase transformation of the strip steel in coiling transportation process was *** simulation results show that the different thermal contact conditions of the microalloyed dual-phase steel during coil transportation lead to uneven cooling of the coil,which leads to nonuniform transformation of the coil along the rolling *** addition,by prolonging the time interval from coiling to unloading,the phenomenon of nonuniform phase transformation of microalloyed dual-phase steel can be effectively *** simulation results are applied to industrial *** application results show that prolonging the time interval from coiling to unloading can effectively improve the nonuniform phase transformation of microalloyed dual-phase steel in the cooling process after hot rolling.

Zero-dimensional(0D)hybrid metal halides,which consist of organic cations and isolated inorganic metal halide anions,have emerged as phosphors with efficient broadband ***,these materials generally have too wide bandgaps and thus cannot be excited by blue light,which hinders their applications for efficient white light-emitting diodes(WLEDs).The key to achieving a blue-light-excitable 0D hybrid metal halide phosphor is to reduce the fundamental bandgap by rational chemical *** this work,we report two designed hybrid copper(I)iodides,(Ph_(3)MeP)_(2)Cu_(4)I_(6)and(Cy_(3)MeP)_(2)Cu_(4)I_(6),as blue-light-excitable yellow phosphors with ultrabroadband *** these compounds,the[Cu_(4)I_(6)]^(2-)anion forms an I6 octahedron centered on a cationic Cu_(4)*** strong cation-cation bonding within the unique cationic Cu_(4)tetrahedra enables significantly lowered conduction band minimums and thus narrowed bandgaps,as compared to other reported hybrid copper(I)*** ultrabroadband emission is attributed to the coexistence of free and self-trapped *** WLED using the[Cu_(4)I_(6)]^(2-)anion-based single phosphor shows warm white light emission,with a high luminous efficiency of 65 Im W^(-1)and a high color rendering index of *** work provides strategies to design narrow-bandgap 0D hybrid metal halides and presents two first examples of blue-light-excitable 0D hybrid metal halide phosphors for efficient WLEDs.

Applications of deep learning for detecting ophthalmic diseases with ultrawide-field fundus

AIM:To summarize the application of deep learning in detecting ophthalmic disease with ultrawide-field fundus images and analyze the advantages,limitations,and possible solutions common to all ***:We searched three academic databases,including PubMed,Web of Science,and Ovid,with the date of August *** matched and screened according to the target keywords and publication year and retrieved a total of 4358 research papers according to the keywords,of which 23 studies were retrieved on applying deep learning in diagnosing ophthalmic disease with ultrawide-field ***:Deep learning in ultrawide-field images can detect various ophthalmic diseases and achieve great performance,including diabetic retinopathy,glaucoma,age-related macular degeneration,retinal vein occlusions,retinal detachment,and other peripheral retinal *** to fundus images,the ultrawide-field fundus scanning laser ophthalmoscopy enables the capture of the ocular fundus up to 200°in a single exposure,which can observe more areas of the ***:The combination of ultrawide-field fundus images and artificial intelligence will achieve great performance in diagnosing multiple ophthalmic diseases in the future.

Estimating wheat spike-leaf composite indicator(SLI)dynamics by coupling spectral indices and machine learning

The contribution of spike photosynthesis to grain yield(GY)has been overlooked in the accurate spectral prediction of ***,it’s essential to construct and estimate a yield-related phenotypic trait considering spike *** on field and spectral reflectance data from 19 wheat cultivars under two nitrogen fertilization conditions in two years,our objectives were to(i)construct a yield-related phenotypic trait(spike–leaf composite indicator,SLI)accounting for the contribution of the spike to photosynthesis,(ii)develop a novel spectral index(enhanced triangle vegetation index,ETVI3)sensitive to SLI,and(iii)establish and evaluate SLI estimation models by integrating spectral indices and machine learning *** results showed that SLI was sensitive to nitrogen fertilizer and wheat cultivar variation as well as a better predictor of yield than the leaf area ***3 maintained a strong correlation with SLI throughout the growth stage,whereas the correlations of other spectral indices with SLI were poor after spike *** spectral indices and machine learning algorithms improved the estimation accuracy of SLI,with the most accurate estimates of SLI showing coefficient of determination,root mean square error(RMSE),and relative RMSE values of 0.71,0.047,and 26.93%,*** results provide new insights into the role of fruiting organs for the accurate spectral prediction of *** high-throughput SLI estimation approach can be applied for wheat yield prediction at whole growth stages and may be assisted with agronomical practices and variety selection.

Metal-free two-dimensional phosphorene-based electrocatalyst with covalent P-N heterointerfacial reconstruction for electrolyte-lean lithium-sulfur batteries

The use of lithium-sulfur batteries under high sulfur loading and low electrolyte concentrations is severely restricted by the detrimental shuttling behavior of polysulfides and the sluggish kinetics in redox ***-dimensional(2D)few layered black phosphorus with fully exposed atoms and high sulfur affinity can be potential lithium-sulfur battery electrocatalysts,which,however,have limitations of restricted catalytic activity and poor electrochemical/chemical *** resolve these issues,we developed a multifunctional metal-free catalyst by covalently bonding few layered black phosphorus nanosheets with nitrogen-doped carbon-coated multiwalled carbon nanotubes(denoted c-FBP-NC).The experimental characterizations and theoretical calculations show that the formed polarized P-N covalent bonds in c-FBP-NC can efficiently regulate electron transfer from NC to FBP and significantly promote the capture and catalysis of lithium polysulfides,thus alleviating the shuttle ***,the robust 1D-2D interwoven structure with large surface area and high porosity allows strong physical confinement and fast mass ***,with c-FBP-NC as the sulfur host,the battery shows a high areal capacity of 7.69 mAh cm^(−2) under high sulfur loading of 8.74 mg cm^(−2) and a low electrolyte/sulfur ratio of 5.7μL mg^(−1).Moreover,the assembled pouch cell with sulfur loading of 4 mg cm^(−2) and an electrolyte/sulfur ratio of 3.5μL mg^(−1) shows good rate capability and outstanding *** work proposes an interfacial and electronic structure engineering strategy for fast and durable sulfur electrochemistry,demonstrating great potential in lithium-sulfur batteries.
