Enhanced Fenton-like process over Cu/L(+)-ascorbic acid co-doping mesoporous silica for toxicity reduction of emerging contaminants

Effective removal of emerging contaminants(ECs)to minimize their impacts on human health and the natural environment is a global *** the removal of ECs in water,we fabricated a seaweed spherical microsphere catalyst with Cu cation-πstructures by in situ doping of Cu species and ascorbic acid in mesoporous silica(Cu-C-MSNs)via a hydrothermal *** results indicate that bisphenol A(BPA)is substantially degraded within 5 min under natural conditions,with its biological toxicity considerably ***,industrial wastewater could also be effectively purified by Cu-C-MSNs/H_(2)O_(2) *** presence of metal sites and the complexation of ECs via cation-πinteraction andπ-πstacking on the catalyst surface were directly responsible for the polarization distribution of electrons,thus activating H_(2)O_(2) and dissolved oxygen(DO).The removal of contaminants could be attributed primarily to 1)the activation of H_(2)O_(2) into ^(·)OH to attack the contaminants and 2)self-cleavage because of the transfer of electrons from the contaminants to the *** study provides an innovative solution for the effective treatment of ECs and has positive implications for easing global environmental crises.

A new steganographic method by pixel-value differencing(PVD)using general quantization ranges of pixel pairs’difference values is *** objective of this method is to provide a data embedding technique with a range table with range widths not limited to powers of 2,extending PVD-based methods to enhance their flexibility and data-embedding rates without changing their capabilities to resist security ***,the conventional PVD technique partitions a grayscale image into 1×2 non-overlapping *** entire range[0,255]of all possible absolute values of the pixel pairs’grayscale differences in the blocks is divided into multiple quantization *** width of each quantization range is a power of two to facilitate the direct embedding of the bit information with high embedding *** using power-of-two range widths,the embedding rates can drop using conventional embedding *** contrast,the proposed method uses general quantization range widths,and a multiple-based number conversion mechanism is employed skillfully to implement the use of nonpower-of-two range widths,with each pixel pair being employed to embed a digit in the multiple-based *** the message bits are converted into a big multiple-based number whose digits can be embedded into the pixel pairs with a higher embedding *** experimental results showed the feasibility of the proposed method and its resistance to security *** addition,implementation examples are provided,where the proposed method adopts non-power-of-two range widths and employsmultiple-based number conversion to expand the data-hiding and steganalysis-resisting capabilities of other PVD methods.

Neutron-skin thickness is a key parameter for a neutron-rich nucleus;however,it is difficult to *** the framework of the Lanzhou Quantum Molecular Dynamics(LQMD)model,a possible probe for the neutron-skin thickness(δ_(np))of neutron-rich ^(48)Ca was studied in the 140A MeV ^(48)Ca+^(9)Be projectile fragmentation reaction based on the parallel momentum distribution(p∥)of the residual fragments.A Fermi-type density distribution was employed to initiate the neutron density distributions in the LQMD simulations.A combined Gaussian function with different width parameters for the left side(Γ_(L))and the right side(Γ_(R))in the distribution was used to describe the p∥of the residual *** neutron-rich sulfur isotopes as examples,Γ_(L) shows a sensitive correlation withδ_(np) of ^(48)Ca,and is proposed as a probe for determining the neutron skin thickness of the projectile nucleus.

AIM:To evaluate the efficacy and safety of Usights UC100 illuminated microcatheter in microcatheter-assisted trabeculotomy(MAT).METHODS:Totally 10 eyes of 10 patients with primary open angle glaucoma(POAG)who underwent MAT facilitated by Usights UC100(5 eyes)or iTrack(5 eyes)were *** success of this surgery was defined as intraocular pressure(IOP)30%reduction,without oral glaucoma medications,or additional glaucoma ***:The mean pre-operative IOP was 25.38±10.22 mm Hg in the Usights UC100 group and 19.98±3.87 mm Hg in the iTrack *** was achieved in all eyes in both *** success rates for the Usights UC100 group and iTrack groups were in all and 4 eyes,*** microcatheters produced a statistically significant reduction in IOP,and eyes using Usights UC100 achieved a lower IOP than the iTrack group at 3mo followup(12.58±1.52 and 14.84±1.89 mm Hg,respectively),but no statistical significance was *** severe side effects were observed in either ***:MAT using Usights UC100 or iTrack both achieve significant pressure reduction in cases of POAG,and Usights UC100 is as safe as iTrack.

Despite a specific data assimilation method,data assimilation(DA)in general can be decomposed into components of the prior information,observation forward operator that is given by the observation type,observation error covariances,and background error *** a classic Lorenz model,the influences of the DA components on the initial conditions(ICs)and subsequent forecasts are systematically investigated,which could provide a theoretical basis for the design of DA for different scales of *** forecast errors undergo three typical stages:a slow growth stage from 0 h to 5 d,a fast growth stage from 5 d to around 15 d with significantly different error growth rates for ensemble and deterministic forecasts,and a saturation stage after 15 *** strategies that provide more accurate ICs can improve the *** assimilation is superior to offline assimilation,and a flow-dependent background error covariance matrix(Pf)provides better analyses than a static background error covariance matrix(B)for instantaneous observations and frequent time-averaged observations;but the opposite is true for infrequent time-averaged observations,since cycling simulation cannot construct informative priors when the model lacks predictive skills and the flow-dependent Pf cannot effectively extract information from low-informative observations as the static *** observations contain more information than time-averaged observations,thus the former is preferred,especially for infrequent observing ***,ensemble forecasts have advantages over deterministic forecasts,and the advantages are enlarged with less informative observations and lower predictive-skill model priors.
