Background:Colorectal cancer has been the second most common cancer among men and women in Hong Kong since 2012,but the underlying reasons for this increase remain *** describe the incidence trend for colorectal cancer in Hong Kong to explore its etiology within this ***:The temporal trends in colorectal cancer incidence between 1983 and 2012 were analyzed with joinpoint regressions by sex,age groups,and anatomic sites among adults using data from the Hong Kong Cancer *** age-period-cohort analysis was used to evaluate the effects of age,calendar periods,and birth cohorts on the observed temporal ***:The incidence of colon cancer among those aged 50 years and older in both sexes increased steadily from 1983 until the mid-1990s and was followed by a slight decrease thereafter,whereas the incidence among those aged 20-49 years decreased steadily from 1983 to *** contrast,the incidence of rectal cancer steadily increased in men and remained stable in women throughout the study *** period and birth cohort effects were observed for colon cancer,whereas period effects on the temporal trends were observed for male rectal ***:The incidences of colon and rectal cancers have exhibited divergent patterns between 1983 and 2012 in Hong Kong,indicating heterogeneous etiologies between these two types of *** of the risk factors related to colon and rectal cancers in the Hong Kong population should be performed,and the increased rectal cancer incidence in males is worthy of extra attention.

Background:Alcohol consumption and some other dietary habits are thought to be associated with lung cancer ***,the effects of these habits on lung cancer prognosis have been studied *** purpose of this study was to address these gaps in ***:We studied a cohort of 1052 Chinese men in Hong Kong who were diagnosed with primary lung *** proportional hazards models were used to determine the prognostic values of consumption of alcohol,fresh fruits or vegetables,meat,and fried or preserved ***:Compared with never drinkers,men who drank alcohol 1-3 days per week had a more favorable lung cancer prognosis(hazard ratio[HR]:0.82,95%confidence interval[CI]0.68-0.97);however,this survival advantage was not significant in men who drank alcohol more frequently(HR:0.91,95%CI 0.73-1.14).Compared with men who consumed preserved or fried food only occasionally,men who consumed these foods frequently had a higher risk of lung cancer mortality(HR:1.20,95%CI 1.00-1.42).Conclusions:Occasional consumption of alcohol was a favorable survival factor for Chinese men with lung ***,this survival benefit did not exist for frequent drinkers of *** men with lung cancer who were frequent consumers of fried or preserved food had a worse prognosis than those who consumed these foods only occasionally.

背景与目的自2012年以来,结直肠癌已成为香港地区男性和女性第二大常见癌症,但发病率增加的原因仍不清楚。我们分析了香港地区居民结直肠癌的发病趋势,以探讨其发病原因。方法根据香港地区癌症登记处的数据,按照性别、年龄和解剖部位对1983年至2012年期间结直肠癌发病率的时间趋势进行了连接点回归分析。使用年龄–时期–队列分析来评估年龄、时期和出生队列对观察到的时间趋势的影响。结果从1983年到20世纪90年代中期,50岁及50岁以上两性结肠癌发病率稳步上升,此后略有下降,而20–49岁的发病率在1983年到2012年间稳步下降。相反,在此期间,男性的直肠癌发病率稳步上升,而女性的发病率则保持稳定。结肠癌有明显的时期效应和出生队列效应,而时期效应对时间趋势的影响仅在男性直肠癌中能观察到。结论在1983年至2012年间香港地区结肠癌和直肠癌的发病率呈现出不同的模式,表明这两种癌症的病因不同。相关部门应对香港地区居民结肠癌和直肠癌相关的危险因素进行监测,尤其男性直肠癌的发病率上升值得特别关注。

目的介绍一种新的吸烟校正因素间接调整法在职业流行病学队列研究中的应用。方法以1981—1999年香港男性矽肺回顾性队列研究人群纯石英暴露组作为研究实例，用吸烟组[1/（1-PAR%）×RR]与非吸烟组（1/1-PAR%）各自的吸烟校正因素校正原始的标准化死亡比（SMR），用暴露超相对危险度和增效指数作为指标来判断吸烟与暴露对肺癌死亡的危险有无偏离乘法和相加模型。结果非吸烟和吸烟组矽肺队列人群的吸烟校正因素分别为1／0．33和1／1．62，校正吸烟后矽肺队列肺癌的SMR由原来的1．61（95％CI：1．22～2．10）显著地下降到1．08（95％ CI：0．81～1．41），结果与Axelson方法完全一致。矽肺超相对危险度和增效指数分别为0．63（95％CI：0．08～0．79）和0．90（95％CI：0．42～1．94），提示吸烟与矽肺对肺癌死亡的危险呈明显的负相乘交互作用。结论吸烟校正因素间接调整法的优势是能定量分析和评估吸烟的混杂和交互作用的影响，但也有局限性。

背景与目的肺癌的发病率与饮酒和其他饮食习惯有关,但这些习惯对肺癌预后的影响却鲜有研究。本研究旨对这些未知问题进行探讨。方法我们对1052例在香港的诊断为原发性肺癌的中国男性患者进行了队列研究。采用Cox比例风险模型分析食用酒精、新鲜水果或蔬菜、肉类、油炸或腌制食品对肺癌患者预后的影响。结果与从不饮酒的患者相比,每周饮酒1–3天的男性肺癌患者预后更好(风险比[hazard ratio,HR]=0.82,95%置信区间[confidence interval,CI]:0.68–0.97),但这种生存优势在饮酒频率更高的男性患者中不显著(HR=0.91,95%CI:0.73–1.14)。与偶尔食用腌制或油炸食品的男性相比,频繁食用这些食品的男性肺癌死亡率更高(HR=1.20,95%CI:1.00–1.42)。结论偶尔饮酒是中国男性肺癌患者延长生存期的有利因素,但对于频繁饮酒的患者却不存在这样的作用。频繁食用油炸食品或腌制食品的中国男性肺癌患者比偶尔食用这些食品的患者预后更差。

This paper suggests a new algorithm to solve problems of the current retinex algorithm such as distortion of grey out and color noise due to the individual treatment of RGB channel and log function,and halo effect occurred by use of the Gaussian *** current retinex algorithm treats each channel in RGB space that brings a phenomenon to change the rate of *** improve this phenomenon,the color information was fixed in the HSV color space,and retinex treatment was conducted against the V value,a luminance *** treatment was carried out to remove color noise occurred by the use of log function.S value,a saturation value was compensated in proportion to the change of V value in luminance to obtain a clearer *** proposed algorithm was evaluated against the landscape images that had strong backlit phenomena,and it is proved to have a better performance than the current retinex algorithm,multiscale retinex with cdor restoration(MSRCR).

Electroacupuncture Attenuates Immune-Inflammatory Response in Hippocampus of Rats with Vascular Dementia by Inhibiting TLR4/MyD88 Signaling Pathway

Objective:To investigate whether electroacupuncture(EA)alleviates cognitive impairment by suppressing the toll-like receptor 4(TLR4)/myeloid differentiation factor 88(MyD88)signaling pathway,which triggers immune-inflammatory responses in the hippocampus of rats with vascular dementia(VaD).Methods:The experiments were conducted in 3 parts and in total the Sprague-Dawley rats were randomly divided into 8 groups by a random number table,including sham,four-vessel occlusion(4-VO),4-VO+EA,4-VO+non-EA,sham+EA,4-VO+lipopolysaccharide(LPS),4-VO+LPS+EA,and 4-VO+tak-242 *** VaD model was established by the 4-VO *** days later,rats were treated with EA at 5 acupoints of Baihui(DV 20),Danzhong(RN 17),Geshu(BL 17),Qihai(RN 6)and Sanyinjiao(SP 6),once per day for 3 consecutive *** subsets,lymphocyte transformation rates,and inflammatory cytokines interleukin-6(IL-6)and tumor necrosis factorα(TNF-α)were measured to assess immune function and inflammation in VaD *** electron microscopy was used to observe the ultrastructure of nerve cells in the *** levels of TLR4,MyD88,IL-6,and TNF-αwere detected after EA ***4/MyD88 signaling and cognitive function were also assessed after intracerebroventricular injection of TLR4 antagonist tak-242 or TLR4 agonist LPS with or without ***:Compared with the 4-VO group,EA notably improved immune function of rats in the 4-VO+EA group,inhibited the protein and mRNA expressions of TLR4 and MyD88 in the hippocampus of rats,reduced the expressions of serum IL-6 and TNF-α(all Ptak-242 and 4-VO+EA groups(P>0.05).Conclusions:EA attenuated cognitive impairment associated with immune inflammation by inhibition of the TLR4/MyD88 signaling ***,EA may be a promising alternative therapy for the treatment of VaD.

For the applications of the frequency comb in microresonators,it is essential to obtain a fully frequency-stabilized microcomb laser *** this study,we present a system for generating a fully atom-referenced stabilized soliton *** pump light around 1560.48 nm is locked to an ultra-low-expansion(ULE)*** pump light is then frequency-doubled and referenced to the atomic transition *** repetition rate of the soliton microcomb is injection-locked to an atomic-clockstabilized radio frequency(RF)source,leading to mHz stabilization at 1 *** a result,all comb lines have been frequencystabilized based on the atomic reference and the ULE cavity,achieving a very high precision of approximately 18 Hz at 1 s,corresponding to the frequency stability of 9.5×10^(-14).Our approach provides a fully stabilized microcomb experiment scheme with no requirement of f-2f technique,which could be easily implemented and generalized to various photonic platforms,thus paving the way towards the ultraprecise optical sources for high precision spectroscopy.
