A review of whole-medical systems and holistic care approach for type 2 diabetes and associated metabolic syndrome

Whole-person care and holistic care approach has been proposed for complementary and integrative health care for type 2 diabetes ***,some doubts still exist on the feasibility of replicating processes followed in clinical trials and observational studies in real-world *** narrative literature review summarized and assessed existing clinical evidence(clinical trials,observational studies,and case reports)describing holistic and integrated care approach in adult and adolescent individuals with type 2 diabetes mellitus in clinical *** goal was to highlight existing evidence for implementation and outcomes of whole-medical systems and holistic integrated care approach for type 2 diabetes mellitus.A nonsystematic literature search was performed on Google Scholar,PubMed,web of Science,ProQuest and ScienceDirect to identify clinical evidence from different parts of the world,evaluating the use of whole-medical systems and/or holistic care interventions in clinical practice for management of type 2 diabetes *** keywords were used in the *** were analyzed using content analysis and simple descriptive statistics(percentages).Most of the studies(64%)were mainly conducted in Eastern countries(India,China and Israel)while 36%of the studies were conducted in the Western countries(USA,Netherlands,Canada and Mexico).Lifestyle medicine and integrated naturopathy were shown to be the commonly used whole-medical systems for type 2 diabetes mellitus *** improvements in type 2 diabetes parameters,medication use,other symptoms,and overall feeling of wellness were observed in all *** review study revealed limited utilization and/or documentation of whole-medical systems or holistic care treatments for type 2 diabetes mellitus in regions of the world other than eastern *** medicine,naturopathy,yoga,Ayurveda and traditional Chinese medicine were shown to be effective for type 2 diabetes mellitu

Getting the Most Out of Every training Day: the Influence of Instructors on Self-Regulated Learning During Firefighter Leadership Courses

Leadership courses in the fire services are highly challenging, and they can seriously exhaust trainees and hamper their selfregulated learning efforts(for example, setting goals, focusing attention, seeking feedback). We theorize that experiences of failure or overload can curtail trainees' available energy resources on subsequent training days, which, in turn, should affect trainees' learning efforts. Given instructors' central role in leadership courses, we hypothesize that supportive and humble instructor behaviors decrease experiences of failure and overload and, thus, increase self-regulated learning. Moreover, we argue that supportive instructor behavior may amplify the positive effects of high energy resources, while humble behavior may alleviate the negative impact of low resource levels. We tested preregistered hypotheses with 118 firefighters participating in two-week leadership courses at a German fire academy. the participants completed short.web-based questionnaires before and after classes each day. Multilevel analyses confirmed that perceived daily supportive and humble instructor behavior predicted trainees' reports of daily self-regulated learning activity. Notably, this effect was independent from positive effects of trainees' reported energy resources in the morning. Supportive and humble behavior did not moderate the eff ect of energy resources. Our findings suggest that instructors play a crucial role in facilitating effective learning under challenging training conditions. Furthermore, we offer implications for leaders in fire services, who often conduct trainings with their subordinates.

Numerical damage evaluation of perforated steel columns subjected to blast loading

the structural performance of perforated steel columns(PSCs)is significantly more complex than the one of solid web I-shaped elements under the diversity of blast loading *** damage criterion of PSCs is not only related to initial deformation response during the blast but also the residual axial load capacity and it can be considered as a reliable index after the blast ***,the PSCs damages will be studied in two stages;direct and post blast *** the present study,the dynamic response of PSCs was numerically evaluated under different levels of blast threats using LS-DYNA *** explicit finite element(FE)analyses are carried out to investigate the effect of various parameters,such as web opening shapes,boundary conditions and strengthening details on the damage index and toughness of the PSCs compared to the parent steel *** results of the comparative study show that the damage and toughness decrease when the support condition changes from pinned to fixed ends through the two stages of *** give high toughness compared to its parent sections during blast shock stage while,a remarkable decrease in toughness is observed during the application of axial gravity after blast ***,the web opening shapes have slight effects on the global dynamic behavior of PSCs,particularly in terms of residual *** the contrary,the retrofitting strategy using both closed holes at end and vertical stiffeners have an effective enhancement to get higher toughness in case of the extreme blasts.

LIDAR is the first generation of laser remote sensing developed for detection of gas molecule in atmosphere. LIDAR is the abbreviated word for laser radar (laser light detection and ranging). It combines advantages of lasers ability to detect atoms and molecules and radars ability for remote sensing. the advance of technologies: tunable solid state laser (ti sapphire, OPO etc), optical fiber, photonics imaging technique and last but not least computational techniques, have promoted the development of new types of laser remote sensors capable of detecting toxic and radioactive chemicals and metals not in gas form and not exposed in air but under ground water and subsurface soil. the high power laser is used to vaporize the target material and generate plasma. Optical fiber is often used to delivery the laser beam and to collect the emission for imaging. the combination of spectroscopy with advanced photonics imaging techniques can study both the chemical components of sample in situ under ambient conditions and spatial distribution of different chemicals in remote operation without requiring sample preparation or extensive sample handing. these new developments have greatly enlarged the horizon of traditional capability of remote sensing.

Virtual Machines are the core of cloud computing and are utilized toget the benefits of cloud computing. Other essential features include portability,recovery after failure, and, most importantly, creating the core mechanismfor load balancing. Several study results have been reported in enhancing loadbalancingsystems employing stochastic or biogenetic optimization *** examines the underlying issues with load balancing and the limitationsof present load balance genetic optimization approaches. they are criticizedfor using higher-order probability distributions, more complicated solutionsearch spaces, and adding factors to improve decision-making skills. thus, thispaper explores the possibility of summarizing load characteristics. Second,this study offers an improved prediction technique for pheromone level predictionover other typical genetic optimization methods during load *** also uses web-based third-party cloud service providers to test and validatethe principles provided in this study. It also reduces VM migrations, timecomplexity, and service level agreements compared to other parallel standardapproaches.

Cloud computing is the technology that is currently used to provide users with infrastructure,platform,and software services *** this system,Platform as a Service(PaaS)offers a medium headed for a web development platform that uniformly distributes the requests and *** using Denial of service(DoS)and Distributed Denial of Service(DDoS)attacks abruptly interrupt these *** though several existing methods like signature-based,statistical anomaly-based,and stateful protocol analysis are available,they are not sufficient enough to get rid of Denial of service(DoS)and Distributed Denial of Service(DDoS)attacks and hence there is a great need for a definite *** this issue,we propose an improved hybrid algorithm which is a combination of Multivariate correlation analysis,Spearman coefficient,and mitigation *** can easily differentiate common traffic and attack *** only that,it greatly helps the network to distribute the resources only for authenticated *** effects of comparing with the normalized information have shown an extra encouraging detection accuracy of 99%for the numerous DoS attack as well as DDoS attacks.

在植物生活史中,种子扩散和种子休眠是物种为提高种子萌发率而进化出的生存策略,在时间和空间上规避从种子萌发到幼苗建成所遇到的风险,种子扩散与休眠之间的关系对于理解物种响应不同环境胁迫的进化选择具有重要理论意义。本研究从web of Science核心合集中检索到1017篇1999—2022年期间发表的关于种子扩散与休眠等生活史策略的文献,运用文献计量学工具CiteSpace 6.2.R1和R软件的“bib-liometrix”程序包提取样本文献数据,利用可视化手段展示了该领域年度发文量、发文国家、发文作者、关键词趋势等信息。根据对样本文献的统计分析发现:1)种子扩散与种子休眠之间显著负相关,显著性程度随环境和组织层次的变化表现出差异;2)某些荒漠植物为适应极端环境,进化出两种或两种以上形态的种子,不同形态的种子分别对应不同的扩散能力和休眠水平的组合,以提高种子扩散后的成活率,扩大种群范围;3)休眠使种子在扩散过程中保持活性,所以最佳扩散距离与休眠水平的权衡是物种繁殖策略领域探究的重要问题之一;4)种子的休眠和扩散特性及其他生活史策略具有协同进化特征,种子扩散与休眠之间的关系还受到环境温度、降雨量、种子数量和大小等因子的影响。种子休眠和扩散策略的进化目标均在于帮助物种应对生存环境的不可预测性,提高适合度,保持物种的更新繁衍能力。理解植物种子休眠与扩散的关系有赖于对植物生活史对策的联合探究。

Effects of gamma-ray irradiation on electronic and non-electronic equipment of Large Helical Device

In a deuterium operation on the Large Helical Device, the measurement and control equipment placed in the toms hall must survive under an environment of radiation, to study the effects of gamma-ray irradiation on the equipment, an irradiation experiment is performed at the Cobalt-60 irradiation facility of Nagoya University. transient and permanent effects on a personal computer, media converters, programmable logic controllers, isolation amplifiers, a web camera, optical flow meters, and water sealing gaskets are experimentally surveyed. transient noise appears on the web camera. Offset of the signal increases with an increase of the integrated dose on the programmable logic controller. the DeviceNet module on the programmable logic controller is broken at the integrated dose of 72 Gy, which is the expected range of the integrated dose of the toms hall. the other equipment can survive under the gamma-ray field in the toms hall.
