this paper proposes a new two dimensional（2D） analytical model for a germanium（Ge） single gate silicon-on-insulator tunnel field effect transistor（SG SOI tFEt）. the parabolic approximation technique is used to solve the 2D Poisson equation with suitable boundary conditions and analytical expressions are derived for the surfacepotential,*** is derived further by using the electric fields. the results show that Ge based tFEts have significant improvements ***heanalytical model results with the technology computer aided design（tCAD） simulation results and also comparing them with results from a silicon based tFEt.

this paper presents a preliminary assessment of the hydrogeological characteristics of a karst mountainous catchment, the Suoi Muoi River catchment, in the northwest of Vietnam. the catchment is located at 600–700 m a.s.l. and covers an area of 284 km. Exposed limestone occupies 32% of the total catchment area. Various types of assessments have been carried out, including geological and hydrogeological field surveys, cave surveys, dye-tracer tests, meteorological and surface water monitoring. Geological studies and cave surveys have identified the most important active cave/conduit systems within the catchment. Although these data are essential, they are insufficient to make a comprehensive appraisal of the hydrologic nature of the catchment under interest. An attempt was made to calculate a global water balance of the catchment, based on short-term (15 months) meteorological and streamflow records. the results show that, despite the existence of a number of substantial cavern conduit systems, the groundwater system of the catchment is governed by the fracture/fissure matrix. the cavern conduit systems only collect groundwater from the adjacent fracture matrix and/or connect topographically isolated surface watercourses. the groundwater storage of the cavern conduit systems appears to be regionally insignificant in comparison with the governed fracture matrix groundwater system.

Although casting is commonly used to process aluminum alloys, powder metallurgy remains a promising technique to develop aluminum based materials for structural and functional applications. the possibility to synthesize Al-Mg-Zr alloys through mechanical alloying and spark plasma sintering techniques was explored. Al-10Mg-5Zr and Al-5Mg-1Zr alloyed powders were synthesized through wet ball milling the appropriate amount of elemental powders. the dried milled powders were spark plasma sintered through passing constant pulsed electric current with fixed pulse duration at a pressure of 35 MPa. the samples were vacuum sintered at 450, 500, 550, 600 and 620 ℃ for 10, 15 and 20 min. the Al-10Mg-5Zr alloy displays poor densification at lower sintering temperatures of 450, 500, 550 and 600 ℃. Its sinterability is improved at a temperature of 620 ℃ whereas sintering temperatures higher than 620 ℃ leads to partial melting of the alloy. It is possible to sinter the Al-5Mg-1Zr alloy at 450, 500 and 550 ℃. the increase of sintering temperature improves its densification and increases its hardness. the Al-5Mg-IZr alloy displays better densification and hardness compared to Al-10Mg-5Zr alloys.

Cholate-CoA ligase （,EEL） and bile acid-CoA： amino acid n-acyltransferase （BAAt） sequentially mediate bile-acid amidation. Defects can cause intrahepatic cholestasis. Distinction has required gene sequencing. We assessed potential clinical utility of immunostaining of liver for CCL and BAAt. Using commercially available antibodies against BAAt and CCL, we immunostained liver from an infant with jaundice, deficiency of amidated bile acids, and transcription-terminating mutation in BAAt. CCL was normally expressed. BAAt expression was not de- tected. Immunostaining may facilitate diagnosis in bile- acid amidation defects.

Investigations on thermal evolution of pairing-phase transition and shape-phase transition in light nuclei are made as a function of pair gap, deformation, temperature and angular momentum using a finite temperature statistical approach with main emphasis to fluctuations. the occurrence of a peak structure in the specific heat predicted as signals of the pairing-phase and shape-phase transitions are reviewed and it is found that they are not actually true phase transitions and it is only an artifact of the mean field models. Since quantal number and spin fluctuations and statistical fluctuations in pair gap, deformation degrees of freedom and energy when incorporated, it wash out the pairing-phase transition and smooth out the shape-phase transition. Phase transitions due to collapse of pair gap and deformation is discussed and a clear picture of pairing-phase transition in light nuclei is presented in which pairing transition is reconciled.

An aluminum extrusion process is mainly used to fabricate long tubes, beams and rods for various applications. However, this process has a high production cost due to the need for investment of high-pressure machinery. the objective of this work is to develop a new semi-solid extrusion process using semi-solid slurry at low solid fractions. A laboratory extrusion system was used to fabricate aluminum rods with the diameter of 12 ram. the semi-solid metal process used in this study was the gas induced semi-solid （GISS） technique. to study the feasibility of the GISS extrusion process, the effects of extrusion parameters such as plunger speed and solid fi-action on the extrudability, microstructure, and mechanical properties of extruded samples were investigated. the results show that the plunger speed and solid fraction of the semi-solid metal need to be carefully controlled to produce complete extruded parts.

Slope failures along hill cut road slopes are the major nuisance for commuters and highway planners as they put the human lives at huge risk,coupled with immense monetary *** of these vulnerable cut slopes entails the assessment and estimation of the suitable material strength input parameters to be used in the numerical models to accomplish a holistic stability *** the present study a 60 m high,basaltic and lateritic road cut hill slope in Mahabaleshwar,India,has been considered.A number of samples of both basalt and laterite,in their natural state were tested in the laboratory and the evaluated maximum,minimum and mean strength parameters were employed for the three cases in a distinct element numerical *** Mohr-Coulomb failure criterion has been incorporated in the numerical model for the material as well as the *** numerical investigation offered the factor of safety and insights into the probable deformational mechanism for the three ***,several critical parameters have also been judged from the study viz.,mode of failure,factor of safety,shear strain rate,displacement magnitudes *** result of this analysis shows that the studied section is prone to recurrent failures due to the capping of a substantially thick layer of weaker lateritic material above the high strength basaltic rock *** triggering mechanisms like heavy precipitation and earthquake may also accelerate the slope failure in this *** study also suggests employing instant preventive measures to avert the further risk of damage.
