Parkinson’s disease(PD)is a neurodegenerative disease cause by a deﬁciency of *** have identiﬁed the voice as the underlying symptom of *** vocal disorder studies provide adequate treatment and support for accurate PD *** learning(ML)models have recently helped to solve problems in the classiﬁcation of chronic *** work aims to analyze the effect of selecting features on ML efﬁciency on a voice-based PD detection *** includes PD classiﬁcation models of Random forest,decision tree,neural network,logistic regression and support vector *** feature selection is made by RF mean-decrease in accuracy and mean-decrease in Gini *** forest kerb feature selection(RFKFS)selects only 17 features from 754 *** proposed technique uses validation metrics to assess the performance of ML *** results of the RF model with feature selection performed well among all other models with high accuracy score of 96.56%and a precision of 88.02%,a sensitivity of 98.26%,a speciﬁcity of 96.06%.the respective validation score has an Non polynomial vector(NPV)of 99.47%,a Geometric Mean(GM)of 97.15%,a Youden’s index(YI)of 94.32%,and a Matthews’s correlation method(MCC)90.84%.the proposed model is also more robust than other *** was also realised that using the RFKFS approach in the PD results in an effective and high-performing medical classiﬁer.

titanium is an excellent grain refiner for aluminium and aluminium alloys, and the addition is normal-ly made by melt inoculation with aluminium-titanium master alloys typically containing 2.5% and 5%titaniurn. the paper describes a process for the production of Al-2.5% ti and Al-5% ti master alloys by di-rect alloying of the metals, and presents the results obtained from the heats taken under different processconditions. Alloying efficiencies as high as 96%, computed on the basis of titanium recovery. have been ob-tained in the case of 2.5% ti master alloy as against 900/0 for the 5% ti master alloy, al operation temperatures of 1050℃ and 1200℃ respectively. the lower efficiency in the case of higher titanium master alloy isattributed to incomplete dissolution of titanium and the significant oxidation losses occurring at the highertemperature of operation.

Objective: the present work tested organic solvents to prepare an extract with anticancer properties from a polyherbal mixture containing Nigella sativa(seeds), Hemidesmus indicus(roots) and Smilax glabra(rhizomes). We evaluate anticancer effects in non-small-cell lung cancer cells(NCI-H292), and discuss optimization for pharmaceutical use in the context of efficacy, yield and ***: Using different organic solvents, six extracts were prepared from the polyherbal mixture. Based on the cytotoxic effects of these extracts on NCI-H292 cells and normal lung cells(MRC-5), as evaluated by the sulphorhodamine B assay, the total ethyl acetate(t-EA) extract was selected for further *** possible anticancer mechanisms were assessed by evaluating the extract’s effects on apoptosis(through fluorescent microscopic analysis, DNA fragmentation analysis, caspase 3/7 assay and analysis of expression levels of apoptosis-related genes p53, Bax, survivin, Hsp70 and Hsp90), colony formation and antioxidant ***: the extract had cytotoxic effects against NCI-H292 cells in a time-and dose-dependent *** antioxidant activity and inhibition of colony formation were also observed. the expression level of caspase 3/7 significantly(P treated with 50 lg/m L of the extract. the same dosage led to a significant increase in expression levels of Bax and p53(P tively), accompanied by a significant decrease(P t-EA extract of the above polyherbal mixture has cytotoxicity against NCI-H292 cells via induction of apoptosis, antioxidant effects and inhibition of colony formation.

two different processes (i) alloying followed by selective leaching of alloying constituent and (ii) controlled chemical attack of oversize powder stock were studied in some detail to assess their suitability for metal powder production. In a typical series of experiments on the alloying process, titanium, zirconium and nickel were alloyed with aluminium. the sample was then leached out with acid to yield the metals in powder form. the metal powders generally had a particle size spread in the range of the acid concentration and contact time were varied and both have influences on particle size of the final product. In the second process involving chemical attack of coarse powder, it is shown by taking the example of nickel that a range of particle size could be generated through close control of acid concentration and contact time.

We analyse the mixed convection flow in a cavity flow which is driven by buoyancy generated due to a non-uniformly heated top wall which is moving uniformly. A fourth order accurate finite difference scheme is used in this study and our code is first validated against available data in the literature. the results are obtained for different sets of Reynolds number Re, Prandtl number Pr and Grashof number Gr which are in the ranges 100 - 3000, 0.0152 - 10 and 102 - 106 respectively. Here Gr is related to the Richardson number according to Ri=Gr/Re2. While increasing the Richardson number, the growth of upstream secondary eddy (USE) is observed together with a degradation of downstream secondary eddy (DSE). When mixed convection is dominant, the upstream secondary eddy and the downstream secondary eddy merge to form a large recirculation region. When the effect of Pr is studied in the forced convection regime, Rithe temperature in the central region of the cavity remains nearly a constant. However, in the mixed convection regime, the temperature in cavity undergoes non-monotonic changes. Finally, using the method of divided differences, it is shown that numerical accuracy of the derived numerical scheme used in this work is four.

Greengram (Vigna radiata L.) is important pulse crop in India. the yield and economics were in-creased by optimization of plant geometry and nutrient management under irrigated condition. the field experiment was conducted during Rabi season of November 2013 to January 2014 at tamil Nadu Agricultural University, Agricultural College and Research Institute, Killikulam. An experiment was laid out in randomised block design and replicated thrice and the test variety of the crop greengram (CO 6) was used. the plant geometry of 30 × 30 cm, 25 × 25 cm and 30 × 10 cm was adopted. the Soil test Crop Response (StCR) based fertilizer application, RDF, FYM and ZnSO4 was applied in soil as basal. the foliar spray of Pulse Wonder and Pink-pigmented facultative methylotrophs (PPFM) spray was done at one week after flowering and 1% KNO3 at 50 per cent flowering. Adoption of planting geometry of 30 × 30 cm, application of RDF, 12.5 t of FYM and 25 kg ZnSO4 as basal and foliar spraying of 1% KNO3 at 50 per cent flowering recorded higher dry matter production of 2865 kg·ha-1 and yield attributes viz., number of pod clusters plant-1 (10.34), number of pods plant-1 (53.40), number of seeds pod-1 (13.23), pod length (8.77 cm) and seed test weight (3.42 g). Higher grain yield of 1775 kg·ha-1, haulm yield (2920 kg·ha-1), harvest index (0.38), net return (57,806 Rs·ha-1) and B:C ratio (2.43) were associated with the treatment comprising of 30 × 30 cm spacing, application of RDF, 12.5 t of FYM and 25 kg ZnSO4 as basal and foliar spraying of 1% KNO3 at 50 per cent flowering.

Novel tricyclic sulfones as γ-secretase inhibitors have been reported by this laboratory for the treatment of Alzheimer's disease. Compounds in this series have comparable or better in vitro activities and in vivo efficacies than sulfonamide analogues re- ported previously by this laboratory. Based on the previously reported tricyclic sulfone scaffold, additional SAR studies of C ring were carried out. Various C-ring structures including cyclohexane, pyran, and piperidine were tolerated. Additionally, the 7- and 8- positions of the C-ring were identified as the best sites to introduce substituent for modulating the pharmacokinetic properties of compounds from this series.

Incretin-based therapies have revolutionized the medical management of type 2 diabetes mellitus(t2DM) in the 21 st century. Glucagon-like peptide-1(GLP-1) suppresses appetite and gastric motility, and has trophic effects on pancreas, cardio-protective and renal effects. GLP-1 analogues and dipeptidyl peptidase-4 inhibitors form the incretin-based therapies. Significant reduction of hemoglobin A1 c when used as monotherapy and in combination regimens, favorable effects on body weight, and low risk of hypoglycemia are their unique therapeutic benefits. their safety and tolerability are comparable to other anti-diabetic medications. Concern about elevated risk of pancreatitis has been discarded by two recent meta-analyses. this article discusses the therapeutic manipulation of incretin system for the management of t2 DM.
