An experiment was carried out at Sher-e-Bangla Agricultural University, Dhaka, Bangladesh during the period from March to July 2014. Plants were grown in the rain-protected polyethylene shelter or shed to avoid rain under natural conditions. the experiment was conducted on biochemical characters of aus rice varieties in various soil moisture levels in three rice genotypes as BRRI dhan55 (V1), BR6976-2B-15 (V2), and tolerant check Hashikalmi (V3), and seven water stress were imposed as treatments. treatments were 0 days of water stress (control) irrigated continuously throughout the experimental period (t0). From twenty days onwards water stress was imposed for seven days when the age of the seedling was 20 days (t1), 35 days (t2), 55 days (t3), 75 days (t4), 95 days (t5), and 115 days (t6). Our findings suggest that the proline, starch, and sugar content were also found comparatively higher in BRRI dhan55 and Hashikalmi among the genotypes under water stress conditions. Under water stress conditions, proline was accumulated, sugar, and starch were decreased. the soluble sugar content was much lower under water stress conditions due to lower RWC, chlorophyll content, stomatal conductance, and higher leaf rolling. Leaf accumulates anthocyanins under drought conditions and the red color increased as the intensity of water stress increased.

the experiment was conducted at the Plant Physiology Laboratory (central laboratory) and Shade house of Field Laboratory of Agricultural Botany Department, Sher-e-Bangla Agricultural University, Dhaka, Bangladesh under a field experiment was also carried out on yield contributing parameters. there were three rice genotypes namely BRRI dhan55 (V1), BR6976-2B-15 (V2) and tolerant check Hashikalmi (V3) and seven water stress were imposed as treatments. the treatments were arranged for 0 days of water stress (control) irrigated continuously throughout the experimental period (t0). When the seedlings were 20 days old, water deficit was imposed for seven days (t1), when the seedlings were 35 days old, water deficit was imposed for seven days (t2), when the seedlings were 55 days old, water deficit was imposed for seven days (t3), when the seedlings were 75 days old, water deficit was imposed for seven days (t4). When the seedlings were 95 days old, water deficit was imposed for seven days (t5) and when the seedlings were 115 days old, water deficit was imposed for seven days (t6). BRRI dhan55 and Hashikalmi produced the highest tillers, grains, number of spikelets and yield. the grain sterility percentage is much higher in BR6976-2B-15 due to water stress treatment compared to other genotypes. Grain yield was the highest in BRRI dhan55 and Hashikalmi and gradually decreased with increased water stress treatment compared to other genotypes. Decreased grain yield per plant under water stress treatment reduction of tillers, panicle, filled grains, root, shoot, spikelet/panicle, panicle dry matter content, and with other causes. the harvest index was decreased due to water stress conditions in all the genotypes while less affected in BRRI dhan55 and Hashikalmi.

目的:结肠癌是我国常见的肿瘤,目前发病率呈上升趋势,DNA甲基化是肿瘤发生的早期事件,特征性的甲基化“指纹”可用于肿瘤的早期诊断和预后判断。本文拟通过研究结肠癌患者组织和血清中SPG20、SFRP2甲基化状态,以及SPG20、SFRP2甲基化状态与结肠癌预后及临床病理特征的关系,为结肠癌甲基化“指纹”及液体活检的应用提供依据。材料与方法:利用tCGA甲基化芯片数据库,通过网络工具“mexpress”软件分析SPG20及SFRP2基因甲基化在结肠癌组织和正常组织中的差异,利用“MethSurv”在线甲基化分析工具分析SPG20及SFRP2基因甲基化水平与结肠癌预后的关系,得到tCGA结肠癌甲基化芯片中与预后相关的位点。通过kaplan-Meier法绘制生存曲线。methylight技术检测42例结肠癌患者和20例对照组血清中SPG20、SFRP2甲基化状态和甲基化水平,采用卡方检验及非配对t检验分析SPG20、SFRP2甲基化与临床病理特征的关系。结果:通过“mexpress”分析tCGA结肠癌甲基化数据,发现313例结肠癌组织中SPG20及SFRP2基因甲基化程度明显高于37例正常组织。“MethSurv”在线分析SPG20基因后得出在 cg04939555,cg05635923,cg21056788,cg22609576,cg25468863 等 5 个CpG位点甲基化程度与总体生存率相关,SFRP2基因仅在cg23292160位点甲基化程度与总体生存率相关,SPG20及SFRP2启动子区高度甲基化结肠癌患者总生存率明显高于低甲基化者。42例结肠癌患者血清中SPG20甲基化39例（92.3%）,对照组患者SPG20甲基化3例（15%）,结肠癌患者血清中SFRP2基因甲基化34例（81%）,对照组患者SFRP2甲基化3例（15%）,结肠癌患者血清中SPG20及SFRP2基因甲基化程度明显高于对照组（p＜0.05）。分析42例结肠癌患者血清SPG20,SFRP2甲基化状态及甲基化水平与临床病理因素的关系,结肠癌患者血清SPG20,SFRP2甲基化水平与年龄、性别、肿瘤部位无关（p＞0.05）,与肿瘤大小,分化程度,病理分期及淋巴结转移相关（p＜0.05）。结论:SPG20,SFRP2甲基化水平在结肠癌组织和血清中明显升高,SPG20,SFRP2特定位点甲基化与结肠癌预后密切相关,SPG20,SFRP2甲基化检测可作为结肠癌诊断和预后判断方式之一。血清SPG20,SFRP2甲基化检测在结肠癌液体活检方面具有广阔的应用前景。

Even though Saudi Arabia is the world＇s largest producer and exporter of petroleum and petroleum based products, it is also blessed with high potential of renewable energy sources like solar and wind. Untapped wind and solar energy sources, which are abundant throughout the kingdom, can be connected and optimally integrated into the grid through the use of smart grid technologies and the expansion of transmission facilities. Smart grid is an auto-balancing, self-monitoring power grid that accepts power from any source of fuel like oil, sun or wind and delivers electricity from suppliers to consumers. It helps to control the use of appliances in order to save energy, reduces cost and increase reliability. this paper describes the attributes of a smart grid and how these act as driving force to modernize the electrical power grid. the necessity of conservation of oil in Saudi Arabia is argued. Moreover, the vast availability of renewable energy sources like solar and wind in Saudi Arabia and advantages in utilizing these sources through smart grid technologies are advocated in this paper.

Background: Dienogest is a potential treatment for pelvic pain associated with endometriosis, a condition of significant concern in gynaecology. the current study was conducted as a crossover-randomized bioequivalence assessment of two oral Dienogest 2 mg formulations, aiming to provide valuable insights for healthcare professionals and researchers in this field. Objective: the primary aim of this research was to evaluate and compare the pharmacokinetic characteristics of Dienogest 2 mg tablets. Dinogest (Dienogest 2 mg) tablets, manufactured by Nuvista Pharma Limited in Bangladesh, and Visanne (Dienogest 2 mg) tablets, manufactured by Bayer Pharma in Germany, were the test and reference formulations, respectively. Materials and Method: the study was an open-label, balanced, randomized, two treatments, two sequences, two periods, two-way crossover, laboratory blind, single oral dose bioequivalence study conducted in healthy adult females under fasting conditions. the study was carried out on 13 healthy, non-pregnant female subjects, and all the subjects completed both study periods with a 15-day washout in between. Randomization was used to assign the test and reference formulations to the subjects. Following each oral administration, a series of blood samples were obtained at different time intervals from pre-dose to 72 hours post-dose and analyzed for Dienogest concentrations using a validated bio-analytical method. A standard non-compartmental model was used to analyze the pharmacokinetic parameters. the primary pharmacokinetic parameters were peak plasma drug concentration (Cmax), the area under the plasma concentration-time curve from time zero to time t (AUC0–t), and AUC from t = 0 to infinity (AUC0–∞). the other Pk parameters included time to reach Cmax (tmax), terminal elimination rate constant (kel), and half-life (t1/2). trong>Background: trong>Disseminated Intravascular Coagulation (DIC) is a life threatening complication frequently observed in acute leukemia. Among the morphological varieties of Acute Myeloid Leukaemia (AML), Acute Promyelocytic Leukaemia (APL) is well established to cause DIC. But there have been reports noted that abnormal DIC parameters also commonly observed in the patients with non-APL AML. this study evaluated the DIC parameters & DIC score according to International Society of thrombosis and Haemostasis (IStH) in newly diagnosed non-APL AML patients. trong>Materials and Methods:trong> this cross-sectional observational study was conducted in the Department of Haematology, BSMMU, Dhaka, Bangladesh. 48 newly diagnosed non-APL AML patients were enrolled. Platelets count was measured by auto analyzer (Sysmax Xt 2000i/Pentra ABX-120DX) as well as checked manually. Prothrombin time, fibrinogen, D-Dimer were measured using StAGO Coagulation analyzer. the IStH-DIC scoring system was used to calculate DIC score. the statistical analysis was carried out using the Statistical Package for Social Sciences version 24.0 for Windows. Chi-Square test & Fisher exact test was used for categorical variables. Unpaired t-test was used to compare mean between groups. For all statistical tests, p-value less than 0.05 was considered as statistically significant. trong>Results: trong>By analyzing 48 newly diagnosed patients with non-APL AML, found that DIC developed in 14.6% patients at presentation. Among the DIC parameters, Pt and D-dimer were significantly higher in patients presented with DIC. Patients with DIC exhibit lower expression of CD117, CD34, HLA-DR and statistically significant association with negative expression of HLA-DR (p-value 0.034). Background: Vonoprazan fumarate, a novel potassium-competitive acid blocker, outperforms traditional proton pump inhibitors in acid suppression and can be effectively combined with antibiotics to eradicate Helicobacter pylori. Objective: the study aimed to determine if two Vonoprazan formulations—Vonoprazan Fumarate 20 mg tablet of Beximco Pharmaceuticals Limited, Bangladesh (test product) and takecab 20 mg tablet of takeda Pharmaceutical Company Limited, Japan (reference product)—met FDA’s bioequivalence requirements by comparing their pharmacokinetic characteristics in healthy Bangladeshi adults. Methods: this was a single-center, randomized, open-label, two-period, two-sequence, laboratory-blind, double-crossover experiment. After 10 hours of fasting, 18 subjects were randomly assigned to receive a single oral dose of either formulation. During each treatment period, blood samples were collected at specific times (pre-dose and up to 48 hours post-dose) to measure plasma Vonoprazan levels using liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry. A non-compartmental model was used to calculate pharmacokinetic parameters using the plasma drug concentration-time profile. A statistical comparison of the pharmacokinetic parameters of the two formulations of the test and reference product was conducted using SAS® statistical software to assess the bioequivalence. Primary pharmacokinetic parameters (Cmax, AUC0-t, and AUC0-∞) and secondary parameters (tmax, t1/2, kel, and AUC extrapolation) were calculated for both drug formulations. If the confidence intervals for the natural log-transformed Cmax, AUC0-t, and AUC0-∞ values fell between 80% and 125%, the drug products would be considered bioequivalent. Result: the geometric mean ratio of Vonoprazan between the test and reference groups was found to be 109.04% (99.47% - 119.53%), 101.37% (95.58% - 107.50%), and 101.24% (95.43% - 107.41%), with 90% confidence intervals (CIs) for the Cmax, AUC0–t, and AUC0–∞, and these outcomes
