In vitro digestibility techniques to predict in vivo digestibility of forages for ruminants have traditionally relied on the use of rumen liquor by tilley and terry methods. Recently the uses of artificial enzymes to replace the rumen liquor have given promising results for temperate *** is not known,however,if such methods can equally predict in vivo digestibility of tropical *** purpose of this study was to evaluate the effectiveness of enzymes solubility technique relative to rumen liquor in estimating in vivo digestibility of tropical *** enzyme solubility employed a mixture of cellulase,cellobiase,gamanase and viscozyme at a ratio of 2:1:1:1 in acetate buffer *** of maize silage(MS),Lucerne hay(LH), tropical grass mixture hay(SH)Brachiaria hay(BH),Lucerne-grass hay(LGH)and urea treated rice straw(UtRS)were milled to pass through 1 mm sieve and incubated in pepsin-HCL solution followed by the enzyme acetate buffer solution. the rumen liquor technique was modified,whereby sintered crucibles were used instead of centrifuge test *** in vitro organic matter(INOMD)digestibility values of the forages were estimated in five replicates using both *** of in vivo OM digestibility(IVOMD)of the six forages were determined using cattle at ad libitum intake of the forages as basal diet and supplemented with vitamins and *** IVOMD values(%)were 60.6,62.9,51.7,56.3,55.7 and 60.2 for MS, LH,SH,BH,LGH and UtRS,*** solubility technique tended to give higher INOMD values than the rumen liquor for some forage *** enzyme and rumen liquor techniques predicted IVOMD with low coefficients of determination(R=0.31 and 0.36,respectively).It was concluded that,although enzyme solubility technique could be used to rank digestibility values of tropical forages,more trials using large number of forage species varying in digestibility values are required to compare with in vivo data for acceptable accuracy an

＜正＞ the formation and energetics of gas-phase multiply charged anions is a subject that has attracted much attention over the past decade. One of the most interesting properties of a dianion is the existence of a Coulomb barrier due to the combination of two interactions, the short-range attraction between an electron and the molecular "core" and the long range Coulomb repulsion between the two excess electrons. the Coulomb barrier can even trap an electron with negative binding energy.
