the aim of this work is to analyze the particle characteristics, such as shape, roundness and size, of starches extracted from Florencia and waxy maize hybrids. the micromeritics and structural properties of the samples were examined. the evaluation of flow properties, densification and compression behaviour of the powders was carried out. Physical parameters and swelling characteristics of tablets containing Florencia and waxy maize starch were also studied. Starch samples were compared with respect to their applicability as excipients in tablet formulation. the samples exhibited identical structure and similar particle characteristics. Maize starch extracted from the Florencia dent hybrid showed better flowability and compressibility in tableting experiments, which resulted in better mechanical tablet properties. With regard to utilization as a disintegrant, Florencia starch indicated rapid and intensive swelling and proved to act more effectively in the swelling process than waxy maize starch.

temperature-dependent resistivity and magnetic susceptibility were studied for quaternary borocarbide intermetallic compounds Y1-xhoxNi2B2C （x = 0, 0.25, 0.5, 0. 75）, which show coexistence of superconductivity with magnetism. In a normal state, the compounds exhibit conventional metallic behaviour. the Debye temperature θD is derived by fitting the temperature dependence of resistivity to the Bloch-gruneisen expression, i.e. θD scales with M^-0.5 （M is the averaged atomic mass on the Y^3＋ site）, which means that the acoustic mode of the lattice vibrating spectrum is influenced by the Y^3＋ site atoms. Fitting the temperature-dependent magnetic susceptibility above tN to the Curie-Weiss law, effective magnetic moment μeff is deduced, and then de gennes factor dg is calculated. It is found that as ho content increases, μeff as well as dg increases and tc decreases. Moreover, the decrease of tc scales with dg, i.e., △te ∝ -nI^2 N （EF ）dg, which is consistent with the prediction of the Abrikosov-gor＇kov theory. We suggest that pair-breaking effect of magnetic ho^3＋ ions. the significant impact on to. the depression of tc could be mainly ascribed to the magnetic change of Debye temperature with ho content may not have significant impact on tc.

the stabilization and manipulation of laser frequency by means of an external cavity are nearly ubiquitously used in fundamental research and laser applications. While most of the laser light transmits through the cavity, in the presence of some back-scattered light from the cavity to the laser, the self-injection locking effect can take place, which locks the laser emission frequency to the cavity mode of similar frequency. the self-injection locking leads to dramatic reduction of laser linewidth and noise. Using this approach, a common semiconductor laser locked to an ultrahigh-Q microresonator can obtain sub-hertz linewidth, on par with state-of-the-art fiber lasers. therefore it paves the way to manufacture high-performance semiconductor lasers with reduced footprint and cost. Moreover, with high laser power, the optical nonlinearity of the microresonator drastically changes the laser dynamics, offering routes for simultaneous pulse and frequency comb generation in the same microresonator. Particularly, integrated photonics technology, enabling components fabricated via semiconductor CMOS process, has brought increasing and extending interest to laser manufacturing using this method. In this article, we present a comprehensive tutorial on analytical and numerical methods of laser self-injection locking, as well a review of most recent theoretical and experimental achievements.

通过在迪纳拉山脉和潘诺尼亚盆地西南交界带进行被动源地震实验,确定了地壳结构和波速不连续面。实验目的是确定亚得里亚海微板块与作为欧洲板块一部分的潘诺尼亚地块的关系。大部分流动台站沿着Alp07剖面(主动源ALP 2002项目的一部分)布设在克罗地亚。该剖面从伊斯特拉半岛到德拉瓦河沿线呈西西南-东东南向延伸约300km。利用P波接收函数方法分析测线上13个临时地震台站的远震记录。Alp07剖面得到了两种特征接收函数(RF),分属于迪纳拉和潘诺尼亚地壳,交界带则包含两种类型。迪纳拉型地壳主要包含三组地壳不连续面:沉积基底、壳内不连续面和莫霍不连续面,而潘诺尼亚类型地壳仅包含两组不连续界面。在潘诺尼亚型地壳中并未观测到壳内不连续面,因此认为潘诺尼亚盆地为单层地壳结构。应用接收函数正演模拟和h-κ叠加两种分析方法开展了地壳结构研究,并将该结果与Alp07剖面主动源折射地震结果进行了比较。接收函数模拟得到了可靠的莫霍面深度结果,与Alp07剖面的地震折射结果相一致,即潘诺尼亚区域地壳特征为简单地壳结构,波速较低(VP在5.9~6.2km/s)。迪纳拉及其周缘,由于地壳结构更为复杂,接收函数模拟得到莫霍面深度较Alp07剖面更大,高达15%。受短周期台站数据频带限制,利用h-κ叠加方法计算得到的莫霍面深度在较大范围内(±13km)变化。通过与先前所有结果进行对比,排除了差异较大的5个台站的结果,而与Alp07剖面附近的莫霍不连续面相比,其他7个台站莫霍面深度差异在15%内变化。

the Purbeck beds in Dorset, the tuchengzi Formation in western Liaoning Liaoning Province or the houcheng Formation in northern hebei Province are non-marine Jurassic/Cretaceous (J/K) boundary sequences. A Czech-China Inter-governmental S&t Cooperation Project has been carried out to search for the non-marine J/K boundary in northern China and making international correlation with the Purbeck beds in southern England. the combination of palaeomagnetism and biostratigraphy in northern China and southern England localities proves that these distant places had similar climatic conditions and the same fauna during the Late Jurassic and Early Cretaceous. A preliminary joint research has shown a fruitful result in searching for the non-marine J/K boundary in northern China.

Particulate matter emissions(PM10)from the combustion,in a residential stove,of two com-mercial brands of certified(ENplus A1)pellets,a non-certified brand and laboratory made pellets of acacia were tested for their ability to induce ecotoxic,cytotoxic,and mutagenic re-sponses in unicellular organisms and a human cell *** was evaluated through the Vibrio fischeri bioluminescence inhibition ***,cytotoxicity was assessed at two time points(24-and 48-hr)through two complementary techniques in order to evaluate the cellular metabolic activity and membrane integrity of human lung epithelial cells *** Ames test using two Salmonella typhimurium strains(tA100 and tA98)was employed to assess the mutagenic potential of the polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbon fraction extracted from the PM10 *** obtained with the bioluminescent bacteria indicated that only particles from the combustion of acacia pellets were *** samples induced im-pairment on the A549 cells metabolic activity,while no significant release of lactate dehy-drogenase was ***10 emissions from acacia pellets were the most cytotoxic,while samples from both certified pellets evoked significant cytotoxicity at lower ***-icity time-dependency was only observed for PM10 from the combustion of acacia pellets and one of the brands of certified *** activity was not detected in both *** murium *** study emphasises the role of the raw material for pellet manu-facturing on the toxicological profile of PM *** raw materials should be deeply investigated before their use in pelletisation and combustion in residential appli-ances.

Metabolic dysfunction has been implicated in the pathogenesis of temporal lobe epilepsy (tLE), but its manifestation during neuronal activation in the ex vivo hippocampus from tLE patients has not been shown. We characterized metabolic and mitochondrial functions in acute hippocampal slices from pilocarpine-treated, chronic epileptic rats and from pharmacoresistant tLE patients. Recordings of NAD(P)h fluorescence indicated the status of cellular en- ergy metabolism, and simultaneous monitoring of extracellular potassium concentration ([K+]o) allowed us to control the induction of neuronal activation. In control rats, electrical stimulation elicited biphasic NAD(P)h fluorescence transients that were characterized by a brief initial ‘drop'and a subsequent prolonged ‘overshoot'correlating to enhanced NAD(P)+reduction. In chronic epileptic rats, overshoots were significantly smaller in area CA1, but not in the subiculum as compared to controls. In tLE patients, who were histopathologically classified in groups with and without Ammon's horn sclerosis (AhS, non-AhS), large drops and very small overshoots of NAD(P)h transients were observed in dentate gyrus, CA3, CA1 and subiculum. Nevertheless, monitoring mitochondrial membrane potential (ΔΨm) by mitochondria-specific, voltage-sensitive dye (rhodamine-123) revealed similar mitochondrial responses during neuronal activation with glutamate and protonophore application in area CA1 of control and chronic-epileptic rats. Applying confocal laser scanning microscopy, these findings were confirmed in individual neurons of AhS tissue, indicating a negative ΔΨm and activatio n-dependent mitochondrial depolarization. Our data demonstrate severe metabolic dysfunction during neuronal activation in the hippocampus from chronic epileptic rats and humans, although mitochondria maintain negative ΔΨm. thus, our findings provide a cellular correlate for ‘hypometabolism'as described for epileps y patients and suggest mitochondrial enzyme def

this paper is directed to study the isotope effects of some superconducting materials that have a strong coupling coefficient λ > 1.5, and focuses on new superconducting materials whose critical temperature is close to room temperature, specifically Lah10-LaD10 and h3S-D3S systems. the Eliashberg-McMillan (EM) model and the recent gor’kov-Kresin (gK) model for evaluating the isotope effects coefficient α were examined for these systems. the predicted values of α as a function of pressure, as compared to experimental values led to inference that these two models, despite their importance and simplicity, cannot be considered complete. these models can be used to calculate isotope effect of most superconducting materials with strong coupling coefficients but with critical reliability. the significance of studying the isotope effect lies in the possibility of identifying the interatomic forces that control the properties of superconducting materials such as electrons-mediated phonons and Coulomb interactions.

星形胶质细胞支持正常的脑功能,但在卒中等病理条件下,星形胶质细胞反应性激活,其也可能参与神经退行性改变。反应性星形胶质细胞增生对机体有益或有害,与环境背景有关,但其分子基础仍未得到充分解释。借助Ribotag技术,我们在特异性地短暂性大脑中动脉闭塞(tMCAO)72h后的小鼠星形胶质细胞中,纯化翻译mRNA,构建卒中特异性星形胶质细胞翻译组数据库。我们发现,与对照组脑组织相比,tMCAO后的反应性星形胶质细胞显示与A2表型相关的转录物的富集,这与神经保护相关。星形胶质细胞也会上调大量潜在的神经毒性基因。我们共鉴定了1003个基因和38个转录因子的差异表达,其中Stat3,Sp1和Spi1变化最明显。为了进一步探索Stat3介导的通路对卒中发病机制的影响,我们选择星形胶质细胞特异性条件性缺失Stat3的小鼠制造tMCAO模型,发现这些小鼠的局灶性缺血卒中体积减少,且梗死72h后小鼠的运动结果改善。综上所述,本研究扩展了新兴的星形胶质细胞特异性靶向卒中治疗数据库,并肯定了星形胶质细胞是脑功能的关键保障细胞。
