the replacement of Li by Na in an analogue battery to the commercial Li-ion one appears a sustainable strategy to overcome the several concerns triggered by the increased demand for the electrochemical energy ***,the apparently simple change of the alkali metal represents a challenging step which requires notable and dedicated ***,we investigate herein the features of a NaFe_(0.6)Mn_(0.4)PO_(4)(NFMP)cathode with triphylite structure achieved from the conversion of a LiFe_(0.6)Mn_(0.4)PO_(4)(LFMP)olivine for application in Na-ion *** work initially characterizes the structure,morphology and performances in sodium cell of NFMP,achieving a maximum capacity exceeding 100 mAh g^(−1)at a temperature of 55℃,adequate rate capability,and suitable retention confirmed by ex-situ ***,the study compares in parallel key parameters of the NFMP and LFMP such as Na^(+)/Li^(+)ions diffusion,interfacial characteristics,and reaction mechanism in Na/Li cells using various electrochemical *** data reveal that relatively limited modifications of NFMP chemistry,structure and morphology compared to LFMP greatly impact the reaction mechanism,kinetics and electrochemical *** changes are ascribed to the different physical and chemical features of the two compounds,the slower mobility of Na^(+)with respect to Li^(+),and a more resistive electrode/electrolyte interphase of sodium compared with ***,the study reveals analogue trends of the charge transfer resistance and the ion diffusion coefficient in NFMP and LFMP during the electrochemical process in ***,the NFMP achieved herein is suggested as a possible candidate for application in a low-cost,efficient,and environmentally friendly Na-ion battery.

Railway infrastructure relies on the dynamic interaction between wheels and rails;thus,assessing wheel wear is a critical aspect of maintenance and *** paper focuses on the wheel-rail wear indicator t-gamma(tγ).Amidst its use,it becomes apparent that tγ,while valuable,fails to provide a comprehensive reflection of the actual material removal and actual contact format,which means that using only tγas a target for optimization of profiles is not *** this work,three different freight wagons are evaluated:a meter-gauge and a broad-gauge heavy haul vehicles from South American railways,and a standard-gauge freight vehicle operated in Europe,with different axle loads and dissimilar new wheel/rail *** vehicles are subjected to comprehensive multibody simulations on various *** simulations aimed to elucidate the intricate relationship between different wear indicators:tγ,wear index,material removal,and maximum wear depth,under diverse curves,non-compensated lateral accelerations(A_(nc)),and *** findings showed a correlation of 0.96 between tγand wear depth and 0.82 between wear index and material removed for the outer *** the results,the tγis better than the wear index to be used when analyzing wear depth while the wear index is more suited to foresee the material *** results also show the low influence of A_(nc)on wear index and tγ.By considering these factors together,the study aims to improve the understanding of wheel-rail wear by selecting the best wear analysis approaches based on the effectiveness of each parameter.

Appropriate interaction between pantograph and catenary is imperative for smooth operation of electric *** heights of overhead lines to accommodate level crossings,overbridges,and tunnels pose significant challenges in maintaining consistent current collection performance as the pantograph aerodynamic profile,and thus aerodynamic load changes significantly with operational *** research aims to analyse the global flow characteristics and aerodynamic forces acting on individual components of an HSX pantograph operating in different configurations and orientations,such that the results can be combined with multibody simulations to obtain accurate dynamic insight into contact ***,computational fluid dynamics simulations are used to investigate the pantograph component loads in a representative setting,such as that of the recessed cavity on a Class 800 *** an aerodynamic perspective,this study indicates that the total drag force acting on non-fixed components of the pantograph is larger for the knuckle-leading orientation rather than the knuckle-trailing,although the difference between the two is found to reduce with increasing pantograph *** the aerodynamic loads acting on individual components with multibody tools allows for realistic dynamic insight into the pantograph *** results obtained show how considering aerodynamic forces enhance the realism of the models,leading to behaviour of the pantograph-catenary contact forces closely matching that seen in experimental tests.

Olfactory receptors(ORs)play a key role in the prime sensorial perception,being highly relevant for intra/interspecific *** are a subgroup of G-protein coupled receptors that exhibit highly complex subgenomes in ***,OR repertoires remain poorly studied in fish lineages,precluding finely retracing their origin,evolution,and diversification,especially in the most basal ***,we conduct an exhaustive gene screening upon 43 high-quality fish genomes exhibiting varied gene repertoires(2e583 genes).While the early vertebrates performed gas exchange through gills,we hypothesize that the emergence of new breathing structures(swim bladder and paired lungs)in early osteichthyans may be associated with expansions in the ORs gene families sensitive to airborne ***,we verify that the OR repertoire of moderns actinopterygians has not increased as expected following a whole genome duplication,likely due to regulatory mechanisms compensating the gene load ***,we identify 25 distinct OR families,allowing us to propose an updated universal nomenclature for the fish ORs.

It is well-documented that phytochromes can control plant growth and development from germination to flowering. Additionally, these photoreceptors have been shown to modulate both biotic and abiotic stress. this has led to a series of studies exploring the molecular and biochemical basis by which phytochromes modulate stresses, such as salinity, drought, high light or herbivory. Evidence for a role of phytrochromes in plant stress tolerance is explored and reviewed.

this study investigates the need for credit supervision as conducted by on-site banking *** builds on a real bank on-site credit examination to compare the performance of a hypothetical self-supervision approach,in which banks themselves assess their loan portfolios without external intervention,with the on-site banking supervision approach of the Central Bank of *** experiment develops two machine learning classification models:the first model is based on good and bad ratings informed by banks,and the second model is based on past on-site credit portfolio examinations conducted by banking *** findings show that the overall performance of the on-site supervision approach is consistently higher than the performance of the self-supervision approach,justifying the need for on-site credit portfolio examination as conducted by the Central Bank.

AIM:to analyze the crosslinking(CXL)effects in pediatric keratoconus,and to identify the patients’corneal characteristics whose pachymetry could not be adequately evaluated by Scheimpflug method after ***:Consecutive pediatric patients with progressive keratoconus underwent CXL were ***-corrected visual acuity(BCVA)and spheric equivalent(SE)were measured before and after *** CXL,groups 1 and 2 were divided based on the posterior surface Pentacam quality specifications(QS):"OK"(Group 1)and"not OK"(Group 2).the mean(RmF and RmB)and minimum(RminF and RminB)radius of curvatures of the anterior and posterior corneal surfaces,and the thinnest pachymetry(Pmin)were measured preoperatively at 3,6,12,24,and 36 *** was ***:twenty-six patients(14 men,mean age 14±1.8 y)and median Kmax of 59.9 D initially and 61.4 D preoperatively were *** was not different before and 24 mo after *** 2 statistically differed to group 1 in that SE was more myopic before and with no difference 24 mo after CXL;RmF and RmB were steeper and Pmin was thinner *** 2,in which pachymetric changes could not be adequately evaluated after surgery,presented with significant RmF flattening,a shift to hyperopia,and more haze after ***:Patients whose pachymetry could not be adequately evaluated after CXL had steeper and thinner corneas before *** predictive factors for impaired QS after CXL are RmF,RmB,and *** advanced keratoconus,alternative methods to analyze pachymetry and the posterior surface should be considered.
