Purpose:Digitoxin is a cardiac glycoside used in the treatment of heart *** by its known antiinflammatory effect,this study aims to investigate the effect of digoxin in a sepsis model and to bring to light its effect and underlying mechanism in acute lung injury(ALI).Method:28 wistar albino rats were divided into 4 *** model is performed by the feces intraperitoneal-injection procedure(FIP).Results:tNF-a,CRP,IL-6,IL 1-Beta,lactic acid,and MDA values were significantly decreased in the FIP+digitoxin group compared to the FIP+Saline *** the same groups were examined,histological improvements such as decrease in alveolar inflammation and decrease in septal thickening in the digitoxin group and thorax Ct were found to be significantly higher in the Hounsfield unit digitoxin group compared to the Saline ***:Digitoxin has shown biochemical improvement in sepsis with all known mechanisms of action,and healing effects in both computerized tomography and histology in the lung.

Background:Effective screening is a desirable method for the early detection and successful treatment for diabetic retinopathy,and fundus photography is currently the dominant medium for retinal imaging due to its convenience and *** screening using fundus photographs has however involved considerable costs for patients,clinicians and national health systems,which has limited its application particularly in less-developed *** advent of artificial intelligence,and in particular deep learning techniques,has however raised the possibility of widespread automated *** text:In this review,we first briefly survey major published advances in retinal analysis using artificial *** take care to separately describe standard multiple-field fundus photography,and the newer modalities of ultrawide field photography and smartphone-based ***,we consider several machine learning concepts that have been particularly relevant to the domain and illustrate their usage with extant ***:In the ophthalmology field,it was demonstrated that deep learning tools for diabetic retinopathy show clinically acceptable diagnostic performance when using colour retinal fundus *** intelligence models are among the most promising solutions to tackle the burden of diabetic retinopathy management in a comprehensive ***,future research is crucial to assess the potential clinical deployment,evaluate the cost-effectiveness of different DL systems in clinical practice and improve clinical acceptance.

the rapid growth of air traffic, the numerous largescale infrastructure developments such as the new airport core project, various road tunnels and waste treatment plants, as well as the large number of highrise buildings in Hong Kong have led to increased demands on engineering maintenance services. In order to cope with such plant services it is imperative that a steady supply of young, conscientious and competent plant operation and maintenance engineers be provided. to achieve this aim suitable plant engineering programs are required to meet the needs of various public and private sectors. this paper gives an account of the developments leading to the present situation in Hong Kong. In view of the United Nations forecast growth rate of air traffic in the AsiaPacific region, the development of plant engineering education and training programmes in the aircraft industry would be dealt with in a detailed manner. the role played by the engineering industry and the professional societies are also described.

Holographic Deformation Measurement by a Spatial Carrier Fringe technique

A carrier fringe techrtique for measuring surface deformation is described and verified by experiments. In contrast to conventional holography and fringe analysis, this holographic system is based on fibre optics and automatic spatial carrier fringe pattem analysis techniques Single-mode optic fibres are used to transfer both the object and reference beams. Carrier fringes are generated by simply translating the object beam between two exposures the Fourier transform is applied to the carrier fringe pattern to convert it to the spatial frequency domain, where it is processed the results are given for a centrally loaded disk, including a 3-D perspective plot of the out of plane deformation field, phase map, grey level map and contour map.

Microalgae can be cultivated for producing high-valued products through the production of enzymes to offset the cost of CO_(2) sequestration,providing financial *** viability of algae in the photobioreactor needs to be monitored to ensure biologically active live *** this study,we explored a simple fluorometry method for differentiation of live and dead algal cells in photobioreactors by fluorescein diacetate(FDA)and propidium iodide(PI)fluorescence *** stains fluorescent green to the living cells while PI stains the dead cells,allowing the discrimination of live and dead *** method was evaluated using two green algae and two strains of cyanobacteria grown in shake flasks and a continuously stirred *** method was found applicable for Chlorella pyrenoidosa and Synechococcus 7002 but was not applicable for the cultures of Scenedesmus dimorphus and Synechococcus elongatus *** conclude that FDA is a good stain for monitoring live algal cells in photobioreactors but its applicability to individual species of algae must be evaluated.

Magnetotelluric investigation of lithospheric electrical structure beneath the Dharwar Craton in south India:Evidence for mantle suture and plume-continental interaction

Broad-band and long period magnetotelluric measurements made at 63 locations along -500 km long Chikmagalur-Kavali profile,that cut across the Dharwar craton (DC) and Eastern Ghat Mobile Belt (EGMB) in south India,is modelled to examine the lithosphere architecture of the cratonic domain and define tectonic *** 2-D resistivity model shows moderately conductive features that intersperse a highly resistive background of crystalline rocks and spatially connect to the exposed schist belts or granitic intrusions in the *** features are therefore interpreted as images of fossil pathways of the volcanic emplacements associated with the greenstone belt and granite suite formation exposed in the region.A near vertical conductive feature in the upper mantle under the Chitradurga Shear Zone represents the Archean suture between the western and eastern blocks of *** thick (-200 km) cratonic (highly resistive) lithosphere is preserved,significant part of the cratonic lithosphere below the western DC is modified due to plume-continental lithosphere interactions during the Cretaceousetertiary period.A west-verging moderately conductive feature imaged beneath EGMB lithosphere is interpreted as the remnant of the Proterozoic collision process between the Indian land mass and East *** (-120 km) lithosphere is seen below the EGMB,which form the exterior margin of the India shield subsequent to its separation from East Antarctica through rifting and opening of the Indian Ocean in the Cretaceous.

Introduction:Forest cover in Hungary has increased from 1.1 to 2.0 million hectares during the last *** EU(European Union)promotes further afforestation;thus,15,000–18,000 ha are being forested each year,mainly in the Hungarian Great *** terms of species used for afforestation,poplar plantations are preferred over native oak *** groundwater uptake of trees can be a significant water balance element of forested areas in shallow groundwater environments within the Hungarian Great *** can cause water table depressions and subsurface salt accumulation in areas with negative water *** study examined the hydrological impact of forest cover in the Hungarian Great *** the framework of this research,climatic water balance,water table depth and salinity,subsoil layering,tree species and stand age were analysed as influencing *** paper compares the effect which an oak forest,a poplar plantation and a pasture have on groundwater uptake and salt ***:the water table level was roughly 0.4–0.5 m lower beneath the oak forest and the poplar plantation than it was beneath the *** groundwater use was 1.5–2 times higher than that of *** uptake of oak forest was greater than that of poplar plantation during the monitoring *** accumulation,which shows water use in the longer run,was slightly higher for poplar in deeper ***:the greater amount of groundwater used by trees does not lead to a higher salt uptake as only a slight accumulation of salt was measured beneath the ***,hybrid poplar was slightly less favourable than native oak when considering salinization ***,even greater groundwater uptake by trees over longer timescales could cause more significant salt accumulation under pronounced drought conditions due to climate change.

Video gaming has been rising rapidly to become one of the primary entertainment media,especially during the COVID-19 *** video games has been reported to associate with many psychological and behavioral ***,little is known about the connections between game players’behaviors in the virtual environment and environmental ***,the current data set offers valuable resources regarding environmental worldviews and behaviors in the virtual world of 640 Animal Crossing:New Horizons(ACNH)game players from 29 countries around the *** data set consists of six major categories:1)socio-demographic profile,2)COVID-19 concern,3)environmental perception,4)gameplaying habit,5)in-game behavior,and 6)game-playing *** making this data set open,we aim to provide policymakers,game producers,and researchers with valuable resources for understanding the interactions between behaviors in the virtual world and environmental perceptions,which could help produce video games in compliance with the United Nations(UN)Sustainable Development Goals.
