AIM to evaluate magnitude/direction of changes in peripheral lipid profiles in patients undergoing direct acting therapy for hepatitis C by *** Mono-infected patients with hepatitis C were treated with guideline-based DAAs at a university-based liver clinic. Patient characteristics and laboratory values were collected before and after the treatment period. Baseline demographics included age, ethnicity, hypertension, diabetes, hyperlipidemia, treatment regimen, and fibrosis stage. total cholesterol(tCHOL), high density lipoprotein(HDL), low density lipoprotein(LDL), triglycerides(tG), and liver function tests were measured prior to treatment and Etr. Changes in lipid and liver function were evaluated by subgroups with respect to genotype. Mean differences were calculated for each lipid profile and liver function component(direction/magnitude). the mean differences in lipid profiles were then compared between genotypes for differences in direction/magnitude. Lipid profile and liver function changes were evaluated with Levene's test and student's t test. Mean differences in lipid profiles were compared between genotypes using ANOVA, post hoc analysis via the Bonferroni correction or Dunnett *** three hundred and seventy five patients enrolled with 321(85.6%) achieving sustained-viral response at 12 wk. 72.3% were genotype 1(Gt1), 18.1% genotype 2(Gt2), 9.7% genotype 3(Gt3). Baseline demographics were similar. Significant change in lipid profiles were seen with Gt1 and Gt3(ΔGt1, p and ΔGt3, p), with tCHOL increasing(+5.3, P = 0.005 and +16.1, P reasing(+12.5, P reasing(+7.4, P = 0.058 and +12.5, P tG decreasing(-5.9, P = 0.044 and-9.80 P = 0.067). Among genotypes(ΔGt1 v. ΔGt2 v. ΔGt3, ANOVA), significant mean differences were seen with tCHOL(+5.3 v. +0.1 v. +16.1, P = 0.017) and HDL(+12.3 v. +2 v. +7.9, P = 0.040). Despite the rapid increase in the use of robotic surgery in urology,the majority of ureteric reconstruction procedures are still performed using laparoscopic or open *** is primarily due to uncertainty regarding the advantages of robotic approaches over conventional ones,and the unique difficulty in identifying the specific area of interest due to the lack of tactile feedback from the current robotic ***,with the potential benefits of minimal invasiveness,several pioneering reports have been published on robotic surgery in *** reviewing the literature on this topic,we aimed to summarize the techniques,considerations,and consistent findings regarding robotic ureteral reconstruction in *** applications for ureteral surgery have been primarily reported for pediatric urology,especially in the context of relieving a congenital obstruction in the ureteral pelvic ***,contemporary studies have also consistently demonstrated that robotic surgery could be a reliable option for malignant,iatrogenic,and traumatic conditions,which generally occur in adult ***,the lack of comparative studies on heterogeneous hosts and disease conditions make it difficult to determine the benefit of the robotic approach over the conventional approach in the general population;thus,qualified prospective trials are needed for wider ***,contemporary reports have demonstrated that the robotic approach could be an alternative option for ureteral construction,even in the absence of haptic feedback,which can be compensated by various surgical techniques and enhanced three-dimensional visualization.

AIM: to evaluate need for and efficacy of a structured gastroenterology didactic session in expanding awareness and understanding of digestive disorders. MEtHODS: A four-day symposium was developed with didactic sessions (days 1, 2) and practical endoscopy (days 3, 4). Didactic sessions included case presentations highlighting pathophysiology and management. One nurse and four practicing gastroenterologists from the United Kingdom led lectures and supervised work-shops with audience participation. Practical endoscopy focused on diagnostic and therapeutic procedures and their application to diagnosis and treatment of ailments of the gastrointestinal tract. Preand post-workshop questionnaires were distributed to participants during didactic sessions. A pre-workshop questionnaire gauged expectations and identified objectives to be met at thesymposium. Post-workshop questionnaires were administered to assess efficacy of each session. Participants graded sessions from 1 (poor) to 5 (excellent) on quality of case presentations, knowledge, clarity and mode of presentation. We assessed if time allotted to each topic was sufficient, value of sessions, impact on practice and interest in future symposiums. rESULtS: there were 46 attendees on day 1: 41% undergraduates, 41% residents, 11% consultants and 4% unspecified. Day 2 (a Saturday) had 24 participants: 17% undergraduates, 71% residents, 9% consultants, 4% unspecified. Primary pre-workshop symposium expectation was to gain knowledge in: general gastroenterology (55.5%), practical endoscopy (13.8%), pediatric gastroenterology (5%), epidemiology of gastrointestinal disorders specific to Zambia (6%), and interaction with international speakers (6%). the post-symposium questionnaire was answered by 19 participants, of whom 95% felt specific aims were met; all would attend future conferences and recommend to others. Objective:to review the role of robot-assisted endoscopic inguinal lymphadenectomy(rAIL)in the management of penile ***:A PubMed search for all relevant publications regarding rAIL series up until August 2019 was performed using the keyword“robotic”,“inguinal lymph node dissection”,and“penile cancer”.Weighted mean was calculated in the largest series for all outcomes using the number of patients included in each study as the weighting ***:We identified 23 articles,of note the three largest series that included 102,27,and 20 rAIL in 51,14,and 10 patients,*** vein was spared in 88.93%of rAIL cases in these series and node yield was 11.42 per groin;35.28%of patients had positive pathological *** weighted mean of operative time was 87.98 min per rAIL and the estimated blood loss was 37.08 mL per *** mean length of hospital stay was 1.29 days and the drain was kept in place for 17.02 days;the major complication rate was only 5.31%in these *** mean follow-up was 33.46 months with a recurrence-free survival of 96.33%.Conclusion:the literature regarding rAIL describes promising results,although it has shorter follow-up and higher costs when compared to historically series from the open *** series reported lower cutaneous complications compared to conventional approach,without compromising oncological ***,long-term results and larger trials are crucial to validate those findings.
