Human activities in a transborder wat.r.hed are complex under the influence of domestic policies,international relations,and global *** the forces driving human activity change is important for the development of transborder *** this study,we used global historical land cover data,the hemeroby index model,and synthesized major historical events to analyze how human activity intensity changed in the heilongjiang river(Amur river in russia)wat.r.hed(HLrW).the results showed that there was a strong spatial heterogeneity in the variation of human activity intensity in the HLrW over the past century(1900-2016).On the Chinese side,the human activity intensity change shifted from the plain areas for agricultural reclamation to the mountainous areas for timber *** the russian side,human activity intensity changes mostly concentrated along the trans-Siberian railway and the Baikal-Amur *** variation of human activity intensity tended to respond to regional events while regionalized variation tends to reflect national policy change or broad international *** similarities and differences between China and russia in policies and positions in international events resulted in synchronous and asynchronous changes in human activity ***,policy shifts were often confined by the natural features of the *** results reveal the historical origins and fundamental connotations of wat.r.hed development and contribute to formulating regional management policies that coordinate population,eco-nomic,social,and environmental activities.

Under China’s“Dual Carbon”target(DCt),“clean replacement”on the energy supply side and“electric energy replacement”on the energy consumption side are the ways to achieve energy ***,energy projects have a long construction period,complex technology categories,and investment risks that greatly affect the development of energy *** judging the effect of investment changes on primary energy production is of great practical significance to the realization of the *** on this,NArDL and tVP-SV-VAr models are innovatively used to reveal the nonlinear effect of fixed-asset investment on China’s primary energy *** results show that the marginal effect of investment growth on coal production is about 1.44 times that of investment ***,the marginal effect of oil and gas investment growth is about 1.21times that of investment *** to the influence of resource constraints,China’s traditional fossil energy still has varying degrees of path dependence on the investment-driven development *** non-fossil energy,investment in hydropower and nuclear power has an inverse correlation with the change in *** marginal efficiency and diseconomies of scale have hindered the development of the hydropower and nuclear power *** addition,the asymmetric effect is not yet significant for the short development time and technical constraints of wind and solar *** the impulse response results,the impact curves of investment in wind and solar power are generally positive,and investment has different degrees of time-delay and time-varying effects on various energy production,which verifies the heterogeneity of investment adjustment mechanisms in different energy industries.

Within the context of the Belt and road Initiative(BrI)and the China-Myanmar Economic Corridor(CMEC),the Dulong-Ir-rawaddy(Ayeyarwady)river,an international river among China,India and Myanmar,plays a significant role as both a valuable hydro-power resource and an essential ecological ***,the water resources and security exhibit a high degree of vulnerabil-ity to climate change *** research evaluates climate impacts on the hydrology of the Dulong-Irrawaddy river Basin(DIrB)by using a physical-based hydrologic *** crafted future climate scenarios using the three latest global climate models(GCMs)from Coupled Model Intercomparison Project 6(CMIP6)under two shared socioeconomic pathways(SSP2-4.5 and SSP5-8.5)for the near(2025-2049),mid(2050-2074),and far future(2075-2099).the regional model using MIKE She based on historical hydrologic processes was developed to further project future streamflow,demonstrating reliable performance in streamflow simulations with a val-idation Nash-Sutcliffe Efficiency(NSE)of *** showed that climate change projections showed increases in the annual precip-itation and potential evapotranspiration(PEt),with precipitation increasing by 11.3%and 26.1%,and PEt increasing by 3.2%and 4.9%,respectively,by the end of the century under SSP2-4.5 and *** changes are projected to result in increased annual streamflow at all stations,notably at the basin’s outlet(Pyay station)compared to the baseline period(with an increase of 16.1%and 37.0%at the end of the 21st century under SSP2-4.5 and SSP5-8.5,respectively).Seasonal analysis for Pyay station forecasts an in-crease in dry-season streamflow by 31.3%-48.9%and 22.5%-76.3%under SSP2-4.5 and SSP5-8.5,respectively,and an increase in wet-season streamflow by 5.8%-12.6%and 2.8%-33.3%,***,the magnitude and frequency of flood events are pre-dicted to escalate,potentially impacting hydropower production and food security *** res

Disaster information content is an objective mapping of disaster situations,social response,and public *** response to emergency is an important mechanism for implementing and guaranteeing emergency management of major natural hazard-related *** how disaster information content affects social response to emergencies is helpful for managing risk communication and efficient disaster *** on the 2008 freezing-rain and snowstorm disasters in southern China,this study used Python to extract 7,857 case-related media reports and applied natural language processing for text *** used three typical cases to identify and analyze disaster media report content and the relationship between these reports and the social response to the *** categories of disaster response-such as prewarning and forecasting,announcements by the authorities,and social mobilization-appeared in the disaster information in the media,along with disaster impact information,that is,real-time disaster *** response information and an appropriate amount of disaster impact information played important roles in prewarning,disaster relief,public opinion guidance,and social stability maintenance and can serve important functions in communicating with all stakeholders of emergency management,assisting or influencing emergency departments or individuals in decision making,and eliminating "information islands." Empathy caused the general public to become "disaster responders" through receiving *** and an excess of negative information may have a perverse amplification effect on public opinion and increase the unpredictability of the disaster situation and the risk of social crisis.

the expansion of a thick-walled hollow cylinder in soil is of non-self-similar nature that the stress/deformation paths are not the same for different soil material *** a result,this problem cannot be solved by the common self-similar-based similarity *** paper proposes a novel,exact solution for rigorous drained expansion analysis of a hollow cylinder of critical state *** stress-dependent elastic moduli of soils,new analytical stress and displacement solutions for the nonself-similar problem are developed taking the small strain assumption in the elastic *** the plastic zone,the cavity expansion response is formulated into a set of first-order partial differential equations(PDEs)with the combination use of Eulerian and Lagrangian descriptions,and a novel solution algorithm is developed to efficiently solve this complex boundary value *** solution is presented in a general form and thus can be useful for a wide range of *** the new solution,the non-self-similar nature induced by the finite outer boundary is clearly demonstrated and highlighted,which is found to be greatly different to the behaviour of cavity expansion in infinite soil *** present solution may serve as a benchmark for verifying the performance of advanced numerical techniques with critical state soil models and be used to capture the finite boundary effect for pressuremeter tests in small-sized calibration chambers.

An improved algorithm for retrieving thin sea ice thickness in the Arctic Ocean from SMOS and SMAP L-band radiometer data

the aim of this study was to develop an improved thin sea ice thickness(SIt)retrieval algorithm in the Arctic Ocean from the Soil Moisture Ocean Salinity and Soil Moisture Active Passive L-band radiometer *** SIt retrieval algorithm was trained using the simulated SIt from the cumulative freezing degree days model during the freeze-up period over five carefully selected regions in the Beaufort,Chukchi,East Siberian,Laptev and Kara seas and utilized the microwave polarization ratio(Pr)at incidence angle of 40°.the improvements of the proposed retrieval algorithm include the correction for the sea ice concentration impact,reliable reference SIt data over different representative regions of the Arctic Ocean and the utilization of microwave polarization ratio that is independent of ice *** relationship between the SIt and Pr was found to be almost stable across the five selected *** SIt retrievals were then compared to other two existing algorithms(i.e.,UH_SIt from the University of Hamburg and UB_SIt from the University of Bremen)and validated against independent SIt data obtained from moored upward looking sonars(ULS)and airborne electromagnetic(EM)induction *** results suggest that the proposed algorithm could achieve comparable accuracies to UH_SIt and UB_SIt with root mean square error(rMSE)being about 0.20 m when validating using ULS SIt data and outperformed the UH_SIt and UB_SIt with rMSE being about 0.21 m when validatng using EM SIt *** proposed algorithm can be used for thin sea ice thickness(timation in the Arctic Ocean and requires less auxiliary data in the SIt retrieval procedure which makes its implementation more practical.

two-dimensional(2D)ferroelectric materials,which possess electrically switchable spontaneous polarization and can be easily integrated with semiconductor technologies,is of utmost importance in the advancement of high-integration low-power *** the experimental discovery of certain 2D ferroelectric materials such as CuInP2S6 and In2Se3,achieving stable ferroelectricity at room temperature in these materials continues to present a significant ***,stable ferroelectric order at room temperature in the 2D limit is demonstrated in van der Waals SnP_(2)S_(6) atom layers,which can be fabricated via mechanical exfoliation of bulk SnP_(2)S_(6) *** polarization is observed in thin SnP_(2)S_(6) of~7 ***,a van der Waals ferroelectric field-effect transistor(Fe-FEt)with ferroelectric SnP_(2)S_(6) as top-gate insulator and ptype Wte0.6Se1.4 as the channel was designed and fabricated successfully,which exhibits a clear clockwise hysteresis loop in transfer characteristics,demonstrating ferroelectric properties of SnP_(2)S_(6) atomic *** addition,a multilayer graphene/SnP_(2)S_(6)/multilayer graphene van der Waals vertical heterostructure phototransistor was also fabricated successfully,exhibiting improved optoelectronic performances with a responsivity(r)of 2.9 A/W and a detectivity(D)of 1.4×10^(12) *** results show that SnP_(2)S_(6) is a promising 2D ferroelectric material for ferroelectric-integrated low-power 2D devices.
