Inflammatory bowel disease,encompassing Crohn’s disease(CD)and ulcerative colitis,are chronic immune-mediated inflammatory bowel diseases(IBD)that primarily affect the gastrointestinal tract with periods of activity and *** body of evidence exist to strengthen the prognostic role of endoscopic evaluation for both disease activity and severity and it remains the gold standard for the assessment of mucosal *** healing has been associated with improved clinical outcomes with prolonged remission,decreased hospitalization,IBD-related surgeries and colorectal cancer ***,endoscopic objectives in IBD have been incorporated as part of standard *** the known increased risk of colorectal cancer in IBD,although prevention strategies continue to develop,regular surveillance for early detection of neoplasia continue to be paramount in IBD patients’*** is thanks to evolving technology and visualization techniques that surveillance strategies are continuously *** endoscopic options in IBD have also been expanding,from surgery sparing therapies such as balloon dilation of fibrostenotic strictures in CD to endoscopic mucosal resection of neoplastic *** this review article,we discuss the current evidence on the use of endoscopy as part of standard of care of IBD,its role in surveillance of neoplasia,and the role of interventional endoscopic therapies.

Nanoparticles are generally characterized by their size,morphology and surface charge using such advanced microscopic techniques as SEM(scanning electron microscopy),tEM(transmission electron microscopy)and XRD(X-ray diffraction).the average particle diameter,size distribution and charge affect the physical stability and the entire distribution of the *** this paper,the PKF(palm kernel fibre)nanofluid was prepared and characterized using tEM,SEM and *** tEM results showed a mixture of different particle sizes with the lowest size measuring a diameter of 100 *** SEM showed particles of different shapes and distributions with some possible level of *** stability of the nanofluid was evaluated using sedimentation by retention time and the spectrophotometric *** the retention time method,the volume of the supernatant of the nanofluid sample was carefully measured using a 25 mL beaker and a pipette,and the solution was left for a period of time(two weeks),and then the supernatant was measured again.A constant volume supernatant was obtained though with little sedimentation,and that indicated a stable ***-Vis(ultra aviolet-visible spectrophotometer)spectrum of the nanoparticles prepared with 0.01,0.02 and 0.03wt%concentrations were *** absorbance was measured with a start wavelength 230 nm and an end wavelength of 900 *** peak absorbance for each of the volume fractions was observed at 290,299 and 298 nm wavelengths by scanning.A quantum leap in wavelength above the listed range was an indication of instability at some point in the fluid.A good particle size correlation between the SEM,XRD and tEM measurements was observed.

BACKGROUND Non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) has become an epidemic largely due to the worldwide increase in obesity. While lifestyle modifications and pharmacotherapies have been used to alleviate NAFLD, successful treatment options are limited. One of the main barriers to finding safe and effective drugs for long-term use in NAFLD is the fast initiation and progression of disease in the available preclinical models. therefore, we are in need of preclinical models that (1) mimic the human manifestation of NAFLD and (2) have a longer progression time to allow for the design of superior treatments. AIM to characterize a model of prolonged high-fat diet (HFD) feeding for investigation of the long-term progression of NAFLD. MEtHODS In this study, we utilized prolonged HFD feeding to examine NAFLD features in C57BL/6 male mice. We fed mice with a HFD (60% fat, 20% protein, and 20% carbohydrate) for 80 wk to promote obesity (Old-HFD group, n = 18). A low-fat diet (LFD)(14% fat, 32% protein, and 54% carbohydrate) was administered for the same duration to age-matched mice (Old-LFD group, n = 15). An additional group of mice was maintained on the LFD (Young-LFD, n = 20) for a shorter duration (6 wk) to distinguish between age-dependent and age-independent effects. Liver, colon, adipose tissue, and feces were collected for histological and molecular *** Prolonged HFD feeding led to obesity and insulin resistance. Histological analysis in the liver of HFD mice demonstrated steatosis, cell injury, portal and lobular inflammation and fibrosis. In addition, molecular analysis for markers of endoplasmic reticulum stress established that the liver tissue of HFD mice have increased phosphorylated jnk and CHOP. Lastly, we evaluated the gut microbial composition of Old-LFD and Old-HFD. We observed that prolonged HFD feeding in mice increased the relative abundance of the Firmicutes phylum. Geochemical Signatures of Early Paleogene Source Rocks in the Sanshui Basin, South China

the Honggang member of the early Paleogene Buxin Formation is the main source rock in the Sanshui Basin, characterized by organic-rich black shales with the cyclic recurrence of organic- poor sediments. the geochemical characteristics of the Honggang member have been documented to determine the organic matter types and depositional environments in this paper. the organic matter of the black shales mainly consists of a mixture of land plant-derived and phytoplankton-derived organic matter. total organic carbon content （tOC）-sulfur-iron （Fe） relationships suggest that the organicrich black shales were deposited under dysoxic-to-euxinic water conditions. the time that iron minerals remained in contact with H2S in anoxic waters possibly influenced the formation of syngenetic pyrite, and organic carbon controlled the formation of diagenetic pyrite. Organic-poor intervals usually show pyrite sulfur enrichment and higher degree of pyritization values relative to low organic carbon contents. this resulted from HS- diffusing downward from overlying organic-rich sediments and formed Fe sulfides through reactions with sufficient Fe. trace elements generally exhibit low concentrations and little tOC dependence, suggesting some degree of depletion in these elements in the early Paleogene sediments of the Sanshui Basin. this probably resulted from cyclic recurrences of oxic benthic conditions, which promoted the remobilization of trace elements and caused the low concentration of trace elements.

Current pavement design methods do not allow for the reduction of early deformation of the surface layers of bituminous pavements in the city of Ouagadougou. Weather conditions combined with traffic, particularly during heat waves, are factors. the temperature at the surface of the bituminous pavement can reach 62˚C but the complex modulus associated with this temperature is not taken into account in the design, hence the interest in proposing laws of dependence of the complex moduli is taken into account in the maximum temperatures of the pavement surface. the objective of this paper is to propose an experimental method to determine the temperature dependence of the complex moduli of asphalt mixes for temperatures between 40˚C and 70˚C. this experimental method consists of performing axial compression tests on cylindrical asphalt specimens. It was applied to three different formulas of bituminous mixes, intended for the wearing course, obtained from mixes of crushed granites, granular classes 6/10, 4/6 and 0/4, pure bitumens of grade 50/70, 35/50 and modified bitumen of grade 10/65. the comparative study of the experimental results obtained with the results of a semi-empirical methodology revealed a root mean square deviation from the mean of between 6.58% and 14.8% of the norms of the complex moduli (modulus of rigidity) of the asphalt mixes for a fixed frequency of solicitations of 10 Hz. the consistency of these results with data from the literature led to the initial conclusion that asphalt mixes formulated with 35/50 and 10/65 bitumen would have better compressive strength than those formulated with 50/70 bitumen, for exposure temperatures between 40˚C and 70˚C. this experimental approach could be an alternative to the complex modulus test for determining the modulus of rigidity for design purposes under real pavement exposure conditions in the city of Ouagadougou during heat waves.
