to achieve higher automation level of vehicles defned by the Society of Automotive Engineers,safety is a key requirement afecting navigation *** apply light Detection and Ranging(liDAR)as a main auxiliary sensor and propose liDAR-based Simultaneously localization and Mapping(SlAM)approach for Positioning,Navigation,and ***,point cloud registration is handled with 3D Normal Distribution transform(NDt)*** initial guess of the liDAR pose for liDAR-based SlAM comes from two sources:one is the diferential Global Navigation Satellite System(GNSS)solution;the other is Inertial Navigation System(INS)and GNSS integrated solution,generated with Extended Kalman Filter and motion constraints added,including Zero Velocity Update and Non-Holonomic *** experiment compares two initial guesses for scan matching in terms navigation *** emphasize the importance of a multi-sensor scheme in contrast to the conventional navigation method using the stand-alone system,the tests are conducted in both open sky area and GNSS signal block area,the latter might cause Multipath and Non-line-Of-Sight *** enhance the navigation accuracy,the Fault Detection and Exclusion(FDE)mechanism is applied to correct the navigation *** results show that the application of NDt and FDE for INS/GNSS integrated system can not only reach where-in-lane level navigation accuracy(0.5 m),but also enable constructing the dynamic map.

the Five-hundred-meter Aperture Spherical radio telescope(FASt)completed its commissioning and began the Commensal Radio Astronomy Fas t Survey(CRAFtS),a multi-year survey to cover 60%of the sky,in *** present predictions for the number of radio-flaring ultracool dwarfs(UCDs)that are likely to be detected by *** on the observed flaring UCDs from a number of unbiased,targeted radio surveys in the literature,we derive a detection rate of≥3%.Assuming a flat radio spectrumνlν∝ν^(β+1) withβ=-1.0 for UCD flares,we construct a flare luminosity function dN/dl∝l^(-1.96±0.45)(here l=νlν).CRAFtS is found to be sensitive enough for flares from UCDs up to~180 *** the Galactic thin disk,we carry out a 3D Monte Carlo simulation of the UCD population,which is then fed to mock CRAFtS *** estimate that~170 flaring UCDs would be detected through transient searches in circular *** only marginally sensitive to the scale height of UCDs,the results are very sensitive to the assumed spectral indexβ.Forβfrom 0 to-2.5,the number of expected detections increases dramatically from~20 to~*** also contemplate the strategies for following up candidates of flaring UCDs,and discuss the implications of survey results for improving our knowledge of UCD behavior at l band and dynamos.

the characteristics of diffusion are essential to the transport of radionuclides through buffer/backfill materials, such as bentonite, which are commonly found in waste repositories. this study used through-diffusion techniques to investigate the diffusion behavior of HtO and ^(99)tcO_4^- on GMZ bentonite of various densities. Diffusion rates were calculated by measuring the diffusion coefficients(De, Da), plotting breakthrough curves and interpreting experiment data. the apparent and effective diffusion coefficients of HtO ranged from(1.68 ± 0.40) 9 × 10^(-11) to(2.80 ± 0.62) 9 × 10^(-11) m^2/s and from(4.61 ±1.28) 9 × 10^(-12) to (16.2 ± 2.50) 9 × 10^(-12) m^2/s, *** apparent and effective diffusion coefficients of^(99)tcO_4^-ranged from(5.26 ± 0.16) 9 × 10^-12to(7.78 ± 0.43) 9× 10^-12m^2/s and from(1.49 ± 0.002) 9 × 10^(-12) to(4.16 ±0.07) 9 × 10^(-12) m^2/s, respectively. the distribution coefficients of HtO and^(99)tcO_4^-ranged from(0.70 ± 0.12) 9× 10^(-2) to(1.36 ± 0.53) 9 × 10^(-2) ml/g and from(1.12 ±0.06) 9 × 10^(-2) to(5.79 ± 2.22) 9 × 10^(-2) ml/g, *** Deand Kdvalues were shown to decrease with an increase in the bulk dry density of compacted bentonite. Our results show that HtO and ^(99)tc could be considered nonsorbent radionuclides. the data obtained in this studyprovide a valuable reference for the safety assessment of waste repositories.

laser powder bed fusion(lPBF)yields unique advantages during the fabrication of titanium *** the present work,ti-6.5 Al-3.5 Mo-1.5 Zr-0.3 Si alloy specimens with excellent mechanical performances were fabricated by *** as-built specimens displayed relatively high strength and ductility under modest volume energy densities(VEDs),whereas they manifested high strength with low ductility under high *** investigate the key reason of this phenomenon,the specimens were designed with two VEDs ranges of 60 J/mm^(3) and 85 J/mm^(3).Special attention was paid to the influences of residual stress and micro-deformation on microstructures and mechanical properties for the first *** results indicated that the residual stresses and relative density of the 60 J/mm^(3) range specimens were higher than that of the 85 J/mm3 range *** multiplication and dislocation movement promoted by the residual stress were hindered by the initialα’phase grain boundary(prior-α’GB),leading to the formation ofα’metastable *** mean tensile strength and elongation of the 60 J/mm^(3) range specimens were 1248.1 MPa and 12.3%,respectively,whereas the corresponding values for the 85 J/mm^(3) range specimens were 1405.3 MPa,5.0%,*** deformation,the strength and ductility of the specimens were first improved by lamellar structures generated from prior-α’phases,and then effectively enhanced by the interaction between the{10–12}twins and ***,pores significantly reduced the ductility;hence,high VED specimens with large twins and numerous large pores increased the strength and reduce the ductility.

the present study was carried out to track the path of Vellar estuary over a period of 38 years （1970-2008） and also to detect the impact of tsunami on estuarine complex of the Vellar estuary. Visual interpretation techniques were employed by using muitispectral data of landsat tM （1991） and IRS-P6 lISS III （2004, 2006, and 2008） to delineate shoreline changes in the VeUar estuarine complex. Results clearly revealed the changes that occurred along the estuarine path over the period, and severe erosion was noticed in the seaward side of the MGR thittu and accretion, along the estuarine mouth. It is also visible that there is clear river path shift in the river course. Although the sandbar formation was seen with only little morphologic modification up to 2004, the Indian Ocean tsunami that struck this coast （26 December, 2004） distorted the sandbar of the Vellar estuarine mouth; however, the 2006 satel- lite images confirmed that the sandbar was formed again to its original structure as that of before the tsunami.

A traditional way to estimate the amount of sediment deposition in a reservoir is simply based on the variation in the elevation measurements made at different *** the present study,a physiographic soil erosion-deposition(PSED) model is applied ***-Wen reservoir watershed to compute the discharge and sediment concentration into the reservoir,and the deposition *** PSED model is verified using three storm events and then compared to the historic data recorded at the hydrological stations in the reservoir watershed,which shows close agreement between the simulated and recorded values of the flow discharge into the reservoir and the corresponding sediment yield. the numerical simulation was also conducted for all rainfall events from 1996 to 2001 to estimate the annual sediment deposition volume in the ***,the simulated result was compared to that obtained from the cross-section elevation *** is found that some measured data points had large uncertainty or were *** the contrary,the model results and the measured data that renders the model ***,regardless of the estimation for the flow discharge into the reservoir induced by a single rainfall event,the sediment yield,or the sediment deposition,the PSED model has successfully demonstrated its ability.

Peripheral nerve injuries induce a severe motor and sensory deficit. Since the availability of autologous nerve transplants for nerve repair is very limited, alternative treatment strategies are sought, including the use of tubular nerve guidance conduits(tNGCs). However, the use of tNGCs results in poor functional recovery and central necrosis of the regenerating tissue, which limits their application to short nerve lesion defects(typically shorter than 3 cm). Given the importance of vascularization in nerve regeneration, we hypothesized that enabling the growth of blood vessels from the surrounding tissue into the regenerating nerve within the tNGC would help eliminate necrotic processes and lead to improved regeneration. In this study, we reported the application of macroscopic holes into the tubular walls of silk-based tNGCs and compared the various features of these improved silk^(+) tNGCs with the tubes without holes(silk^(–) tNGCs) and autologous nerve transplants in an 8-mm sciatic nerve defect in rats. Using a combination of micro-computed tomography and histological analyses, we were able to prove that the use of silk^(+) tNGCs induced the growth of blood vessels from the adjacent tissue to the intraluminal neovascular formation. A significantly higher number of blood vessels in the silk^(+) group was found compared with autologous nerve transplants and silk^(–), accompanied by improved axon regeneration at the distal coaptation point compared with the silk^(–) tNGCs at 7 weeks postoperatively. In the 15-mm(critical size) sciatic nerve defect model, we again observed a distinct ingrowth of blood vessels through the tubular walls of silk^(+) tNGCs, but without improved functional recovery at 12 weeks postoperatively. Our data proves that macroporous tNGCs increase the vascular supply of regenerating nerves and facilitate improved axonal regeneration in a short-defect model but not in a critical-size defect model. this study suggests that further optimizatio
