Postprandial hyperglycemia is an early indication of type 2 diabetes and the target of many anti-diabetic and anti-obesity studies.α-Glucosidase and α-amylase are the crucial factors in regulating starch digestion and glucose absorption,making them key targets for many studies to treat postprandial *** studied the inhibitory activities of microalgal fucoxanthin against rat-intestinalα-glucosidase and pancreaticα-amylase along with the antidiabetic eff ect to induce diff erentiation in 3t3-L1 pre-adipocytes using Oil Red-O *** displayed strong hindrance activities towardα-amylase in a concentration-dependent manner,with an IC50 value of 0.68mmol/L,whereas weak inhibitory activity against α-glucosidase,with an IC 50 value of 4.75 mmol/*** also considerably elevated glucose oxidase activity in 3t3-L1 cells by 31.3%at 5μmol/*** adipocyte differentiation,fucoxanthin showed lipid accumulation in 3t3-L1 cells with no cytotoxicity up to 20μmol/***,fucoxanthin had no inhibitory activity on glucose-6-phosphate *** results suggest that fucoxanthin might be useful for the prevention of obesity or diabetes by inhibiting carbohydrate-hydrolyzing enzymes and lipid accumulation and be utilized as an ingredient for a functional food or dietary supplement.

Several automotive parts such as door panels have been manufactured by using load-adapted blanks for crash optimization and weight minimization. Recently, tailor Rolled Blanks (tRB) has been introduced to remove the disadvantages of a welding process which was used in joining panel components. tRB offers better structural design capabilities due to the seamless transitions on the panels with different thicknesses. In spite of the advantages of the process, tRB leaves internal stresses in the panel. this residual stresses lower the formability of tailor Rolled Blanked (tRBed) parts and cause cracks near severe curvature during subsequent forming processes. In this research, the residual stresses of tRBed Al5J32-t4 sheets were studied by X-ray stress analysis, and also microstructure was observed along the rolling direction. In addition, heat treatment was done after tRB process in order to compare the residual stresses to that of the tRBed sheets before the heat treatment.

Pollen tube growth is essential for successful double fertilization, which is critical for grain yield in crop plants. Rapid alkalinization factors(RALFs) function as ligands for signal transduction during fertilization. However, functional studies on RALF in monocot plants are ***, we functionally characterized two pollen-specific RALFs in rice(Oryza sativa) using multiple clustered regularly interspaced palindromic repeats(CRISPR)/CRISPR-associated protein 9-induced loss-of-function mutants,peptide treatment, expression analyses, and tag reporter lines. Among the 41 RALF members in rice, OsRALF17 was specifically expressed at the highest level in pollen and pollen *** applied OsRALF17 or OsRALF19peptide inhibited pollen tube germination and elongation at high concentrations but enhanced tube elongation at low concentrations, indicating growth regulation. Double mutants of OsRALF17 and OsRALF19(ralf17/19) exhibited almost full male sterility with defects in pollen hydration, germination, and tube elongation,which was partially recovered by exogenous treatment with OsRALF17 peptide. this study revealed that two partially functionally redundant OsRALF17 and OsRALF19 bind to Oryza sativa male-gene transfer defective 2(OsMtD2) and transmit reactive oxygen species signals for pollen tube germination and integrity maintenance in rice. transcriptomic analysis confirmed their common downstream genes, in osmtd2 and ralf17/19. this study provides new insights into the role of RALF, expanding our knowledge of the biological role of RALF in regulating rice fertilization.

AIM： to determine the accuracy of 1.5-t magnetic resonance imaging （MRI） in the evaluation of gastric wall invasion and perigastric lymph node metastasis in gastric adenocarcinoma.MEtHODS： twenty resected gastric specimens containing 20 tumors were studied with a 1.5-t MR system using a commercial head surface coil. MR scanning was performed with a t1 weighted image （tR/tE = 500/20）, and a t2 weighted image （tR/tE = 2500/90）. MR findings were compared with pathologic findings.RESULtS： A t1-weighted image demonstrated three layers in the normal gastric wall. All of the gastric tumors were well demonstrated by lesions and location. In a MRI findings of gastric wall invasion, there was 1 case of t1, 7 of t2, 11 of t3. Pathologic results of resected specimens included 3 cases of pt1, 4 of pt2, and 12 of pt3. the accuracy of t staging with MRI was 74% （14 of 19）. MRI findings of lymph node metastasis included 6 cases of NO, 13 cases of N1. the accuracy of the N staging with MRI was 47% （9 of 19）.CONCLUSION： MRI has a high diagnostic accuracy in the evaluation of the t staging of gastric cancerin vitro and thus potentially enables preoperative histopathologic staging.

Wind power is one of the most reliable renewable energy sources and internationally installed capacity is increasing radically every *** wind power has been favored by the public in general,the problem with the impact of wind turbine noise on people living in the vicinity of the turbines has been *** noise wind turbine design is becoming more and more important as noise is spreading more adverse effect of wind turbine to *** paper demonstrates the design of 10 kW class wind turbines,each of three blades,a rotor diameter 6.4 m,a rated rotating speed 200 r/min and a rated wind speed 10 m/*** optimized airfoil is dedicated for the 75% spanwise position because the dominant source of a wind turbine blade is trailing edge noise from the outer 25% of the *** computations are performed for incompressible flow and for Mach number at 0.145 and for Reynolds numbers at 1.02×106 with a lift performance,which is resistant to surface contamination and turbulence *** objectives in the design process are to reduce noise emission,while sustaining high aerodynamic *** broadband noise sources are predicted by semi-empirical formulas composed of the groundwork by Brooks et *** Lowson associated with typical wind turbine operation *** the airfoil redesign process,the aerodynamic performance is analyzed to reduce the wind turbine power *** results obtained from the design process show that the design method is capable of designing airfoils with reduced noise using a commercial 10 kW class wind turbine blade airfoil as a ***,the new optimized airfoil showing 2.9 dB reductions of total sound pressure level(SPL) and higher aerodynamic performance are achieved.

tcells are one of the most migratory cells in the body. the development and function of t cells depend on their interaction with other cells, which is, in turn, dependent on optimal cell migra- tion. t cells migrate largely in three dif- ferent ways： rapid distribution via blood vessels through hemodynamic move- ment, transendothelial migration and interstitial movement. transendothelial migration involves sequential activation of selectins, chemokine receptors and integrin molecules expressed by migrat- ing t cells, leading to extravasation from blood vessel into local tissue environ- ments.

CD4^(+)t cells play major roles in the adaptive immune system,which requires antigen recognition,costimulation,and cytokines for its elaborate *** studies have provided new insight into the importance of the supramolecular activation cluster(SMAC),which comprises concentric circles and is involved in the amplification of CD4^(+)t cell ***,the underlying mechanism of SMAC formation remains poorly ***,we performed single-cell RNA sequencing of CD4^(+)t cells left unstimulated and stimulated with anti-CD3 and anti-CD28 antibodies to identify novel proteins involved in their *** found that intraflagellar transport 20(IFt20),previously known as cilia-forming protein,was upregulated in antibody-stimulated CD4^(+)t cells compared to unstimulated CD4^(+)t *** also found that IFt20 interacted with tumor susceptibility gene 101(tSG101),a protein that endocytoses ubiquitinated t-cell *** interaction between IFt20 and tSG101 promoted SMAC formation,which led to amplification of Akt-mtOR ***,IFt20-deficient CD4^(+)t cells showed SMAC malformation,resulting in reduced CD4^(+)t cell proliferation,aerobic glycolysis,and cellular ***,mice with t-cell-specific IFt20 deficiency exhibited reduced allergen-induced airway ***,our data suggest that the IFt20-tSG101 axis regulates Akt-mtOR signaling via SMAC formation.

A Study on the Influences of the COVID-19 Pandemic-Related Depression, Anxiety, Stress, and treatment-Crisis on Quality of Life in Cancer Patients - A Secondary Publication

Objective:to investigate the factors affecting the quality of life of cancer patients by examining the degree of the COVID-19 pandemic-related depression,anxiety,stress,and treatment ***:Data were collected from 132 cancer patients undergoing surgery,chemotherapy,radiotherapy,and hormone therapy at k University Hospital in D City using a structured *** period of data collection was from May 6 to May 28,*** collected data were analyzed using descriptive statistics,t-test,ANOVA,Pearson’s correlation,and stepwise multiple ***:the mean scores of quality-of-life,depression,anxiety,stress,and treatment crisis during the COVID-19 pandemic were 84.64±29.09,15.14±6.49,4.66±5.27,75.83±17.70,and 78.52±19.95,*** terms of factors affecting the quality of life related to the COVID-19 pandemic,COVID-19 pandemic-related stress(β=0.41,Pto have the greatest impact,followed by COVID-19 pandemic-related treatment-crisis(β=0.28,P=0.002),anxiety(β=0.21,P=0.002),and gender(β=0.14,P=0.009),with a total explanatory power of 67.6%.Conclusion:to improve the quality of life during the COVID-19 pandemic,COVID-19 pandemic-related stress,treatment-crisis,and anxiety should be periodically monitored and nursing interventions such as education on infection prevention,management,and emotional support programs should be provided to decrease the COVID-19 pandemic-related stress,treatment-crisis,and anxiety.

Sialylated N-glycan isomers withα2-3 orα2-6 linkage(s)have distinctive roles in glycoproteins,but are difficult to ***-type(Wt)and glycoengineered(mutant)therapeutic glycoproteins,cytotoxic t lymphocyte-associated antigen-4-immunoglobulin(CtLA4-Ig),were produced in Chinese hamster ovary cell lines;however,their linkage isomers have not been *** this study,N-glycans of CtLA4-Igs were released,labeled with procainamide,and analyzed by liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry(MS/MS)to identify and quantify sialylated N-glycan linkage *** linkage isomers were distinguished by comparison of 1)intensity of the N-acetylglucosamine ion to the sialic acid ion(Ln/Nn)using different fragmentation stability in MS/MS spectra and 2)retention time-shift for a selective m/z value in the extracted ion *** isomer was distinctively identified,and each quantity(>0.1%)was obtained relative to the total N-glycans(100%)for all observed ionization *** sialylated N-glycan isomers with onlyα2-3 linkage(s)in Wt were identified,and each isomer's sum of quantities was 50.4%.Furthermore,39 sialylated N-glycan isomers(58.8%)in mono-(3 N-glycans;0.9%),bi-(18;48.3%),tri-(14;8.9%),and tetra-(4;0.7%)antennary structures of mutant were obtained,which comprised mono-(15 N-glycans;25.4%),di-(15;28.4%),tri-(8;4.8%),and tetra-(1;0.2%)sialylation,respectively,with onlyα2-3(10 N-glycans;4.8%),bothα2-3 andα2-6(14;18.4%),and onlyα2-6(15;35.6%)linkage(s).these results are consistent with those forα2-3 neuraminidase-treated *** study generated a novel plot of Ln/Nn versus retention time to distinguish sialylated N-glycan linkage isomers in glycoprotein.
