the Lobster Eye Imager for Astronomy(LEIA),a pathfinder of the Wide-field X-ray telescope of the Einstein Probe mission,was successfully launched onboard the SAtech-01 satellite of the Chinese Academy of Sciences on2022 july *** this paper,we introduce the design and on-ground test results of the LEIA *** stateof-the-art Micro-Pore Optics(MPO),a wide field of view of 346 square degrees(18.6°×18.6°)of the X-ray imager is *** optical assembly composed of 36 MPO chips is used to focus incident X-ray photons,and four large-format complementary metal-oxide semiconductor(CMOS)sensors,each of size 6 cm×6 cm,are used as the focal plane *** instrument has an angular resolution of 4’-8’(in terms of FWHM)for the central focal spot of the point-spread function,and an effective area of 2-3 cm^(2) at 1 keV in essentially all the directions within the field of *** detection passband is 0.5-4 keV in soft X-rays and the sensitivity is2-3×10^(-11) erg s^(-1) cm^(-2)(about 1 milliCrab)with a 1000 s *** total weight of LEIA is 56 kg and the power is 85 *** satellite,with a design lifetime of 2 yr,operates in a Sun-synchronous orbit of 500 km with an orbital period of 95 *** is paving the way for future missions by verifying in flight the technologies of both novel focusing imaging optics and CMOS sensors for X-ray observation,and by optimizing the working setups of the instrumental *** addition,LEIA is able to carry out scientific observations to find new transients and to monitor known sources in the soft X-ray band,albeit with limited useful observing time available.

this study was conducted to determine the effects of a low-protein diet with essential amino acids（EAAs）(Lys,Met,thr,trp,Leu,Ile,or Val) on tissue protein fractional synthesis rate（FSR） and translation initiation factor activation in weaned *** three-line crossbred piglets（Duroc×Landrace×Yorkshine）,weaned at 21 days of age,were fed diets containing one of three crude protein（CP） levels（20.7,16.7,or 12.7%）.On d 10 of the trial all pigs were fitted with an indwelling jugular catheter for injecting L-Phe(1.5 mmol/kg body weight（BW） containing 0.6 mmol/kg BW L-[ring-H]Phe) and blood *** d 14 of the trial pigs were injected with with a flooding dose of L-Phe and tissue samples collected before all pigs were *** CP levels significantly affected（Pthe FSR in pancreas, liver,kidney,and longissimus *** of eukaryotic initiation factor（eIF） 4E and ribosomal protein S6 kinase 1（S6K1） decreased with reductions in dietary CP *** liver, the association of eIF4G with eIF4E was lower,33.08%（Pt than that in pigs fed the 20.7%CP *** CP level significantly affected phosphorylation of 4E binding protein 1（4E-BP1） in longissimus muscle and liver（Ption of mtOR（%total mtOR） in pigs fed the 16.7%CP and 12.7%CP diets was lower,32.97%and 31.88%)（Ptively,than that in pigs fed the 20.7%CP diet..these results indicated that chronically feeding dietary protein to piglets lowers their known protein requirement and can reduce protein synthesis in tissues including the liver and skeletal muscle while changes in translation factor activation resulted decreased protein deposition.

Neuronal activity,synaptic transmission,and molecular changes in the basolateral amygdala play critical roles in fear ***(CYLD)is a deubiquitinase that negatively regulates the nuclear factor kappa-B *** is well studied in non-neuronal cells,yet underinvestigated in the brain,where it is highly *** studies have shown involvement of CYLD in the remodeling of glutamatergic synapses,neuroinflammation,fear memory,and anxiety-and autism-like ***,the precise role of CYLD in glutamatergic neurons is largely ***,we first proposed involvement of CYLD in cued fear *** next constructed transgenic model mice with specific deletion of Cyld from glutamatergic *** results show that glutamatergic CYLD deficiency exaggerated the expression of cued fear in only male ***,loss of CYLD in glutamatergic neurons resulted in enhanced neuronal activation,impaired excitatory synaptic transmission,and altered levels of glutamate receptors accompanied by over-activation of microglia in the basolateral amygdala of male ***,our study suggests a critical role of glutamatergic CYLD in maintaining normal neuronal,synaptic,and microglial *** may contribute,at least in part,to cued fear expression.

Neuromyelitis optica spectrum disorders are neuroinflammatory demyelinating disorders that lead to permanent visual loss and motor *** date,no effective treatment exists as the exact causative mechanism remains ***,experimental models of neuromyelitis optica spectrum disorders are essential for exploring its pathogenesis and in screening for therapeutic *** most patients with neuromyelitis optica spectrum disorders are seropositive for IgG autoantibodies against aquaporin-4,which is highly expressed on the membrane of astrocyte endfeet,most current experimental models are based on aquaporin-4-IgG that initially targets *** experimental models have successfully simulated many pathological features of neuromyelitis optica spectrum disorders,such as aquaporin-4 loss,astrocytopathy,granulocyte and macrophage infiltration,complement activation,demyelination,and neuronal loss;however,they do not fully capture the pathological process of human neuromyelitis optica spectrum *** this review,we summarize the currently known pathogenic mechanisms and the development of associated experimental models in vitro,ex vivo,and in vivo for neuromyelitis optica spectrum disorders,suggest potential pathogenic mechanisms for further investigation,and provide guidance on experimental model *** addition,this review summarizes the latest information on pathologies and therapies for neuromyelitis optica spectrum disorders based on experimental models of aquaporin-4-IgG-seropositive neuromyelitis optica spectrum disorders,offering further therapeutic targets and a theoretical basis for clinical trials.

Degenerative cervical myelopathy is a common cause of spinal cord injury,with longer symptom duration and higher myelopathy severity indicating a worse *** numerous studies have investigated serological biomarkers for acute spinal cord injury,few studies have explored such biomarkers for diagnosing degenerative cervical *** study involved 30 patients with degenerative cervical myelopathy(51.3±7.3 years old,12 women and 18 men),seven healthy controls(25.7±1.7 years old,one woman and six men),and nine patients with cervical spondylotic radiculopathy(51.9±8.6 years old,three women and six men).Analysis of blood samples from the three groups showed clear differences in transcriptomic *** analysis identified 128 differentially expressed genes that were enriched in patients with neurological *** least absolute shrinkage and selection operator analysis,we constructed a five-gene model(tBCD,tPM2,PNKD,EIF4G2,and AP5Z1)to diagnose degenerative cervical myelopathy with an accuracy of 93.5%.One-gene models(tCAP and SDHA)identified mild and severe degenerative cervical myelopathy with accuracies of 83.3%and 76.7%,*** of two immune cell types(memory B cells and memory-activated CD4^(+)t cells)predicted levels of lesions in degenerative cervical myelopathy with 80%*** results suggest that peripheral blood RNA biomarkers could be used to predict lesion severity in degenerative cervical myelopathy.

In order to develop a novel dietary additive for the potential application in domestic animals and human,one fraction of Chinese Yam(CY) polysaccharide was *** study was conducted to determine the effects of dietary supplementing CY polysaccharide on the immune response and health growth in weaned *** supplementing CY polysaccharide increased the average daily feed intake and average daily gain,while decreased the feed-gain ratio overall after the supplementation compared with the non-additive *** polysaccharide also significantly increased the serum contents of IL-2 and tNF,as well as proliferation activity of peripheral lymphocytes,but decreased the serum contents of low density lipoprotein, total cholesterol and triglyceride compared with the non- supplemented *** increase in cellular immunity in the CY polysaccharide- supplemented weaned rats, conferring an important protective role in the non- specific defense against *** herbal polysaccharide,as a natural green dietary additive for promoting the immune response and healthy growth,may offer an effective alternative to antibiotics for weaned animals.
