this paper presents the results of geochronological(40Ar-39Ar,U-Pb SHRIMP Ⅱ),petrological and geochemical studies of the Late Paleozoic complexes of alkaline rocks(Zimovechinsky,tuchinsky and Koma) located within the Vitim Plateau(the western part of the Mongol-Okhotsk Orogenic Belt).the rocks were formed at 310-280 *** is coeval with Late Paleozoic magmatism within the Central Asian Orogenic *** εNd(t) values show large variations from-2.1 to +3.3 as well as the initial Sr(I) isotopic ratios from 0.7042 to 0.7138,that demonstrate strong isotopic heterogeneity of the magmatic *** geochemical characteristics of the rocks show pronounced positive Pb and negative ti,Zr-Hf anomalies that can be explained by involvement of the subducted component in primary *** rocks intruded in a setting of extension at the active continental margin of the Siberian Craton during subduction of Mongol-Okhotsk oceanic crust under the Siberian Craton.

BACKGROUND In this case report we describe an extremely rare case of cerebral air embolism following transbronchial lung biopsy(tBLB).Only a few cases of this rare complication were described *** bronchologist should recognize this severe adverse *** recognition of this complication is mandatory in order to initiate supportive measures and consider hyperbaric oxygen *** SUMMARY In this case report we describe an extremely rare case of cerebral air embolism following *** a few cases of this rare complication were described *** patient had an incidental finding of lung tumour and pulmonary *** air embolism developed during bronchoscopy procedure,immediately after the third trans-bronchial lung biopsy sample and caused cerebral ischaemia of the right hemisphere and severe left-sided *** timely initiation of hyperbaric oxygen therapy hemiplegia didn´t resolve and the patient died several weeks *** air embolism is an extremely rare complication of *** condition should be considered in case the patient remains unresponsive or presents with acute neurological symptoms in the postintervention period since early recognition,diagnosis and hyperbaric oxygen therapy initiation are key factors determining the patient´s *** Within this report,we conclude that air/gas embolism is an extremely rare complication after tBLB,which should be considered in case the patient remains unresponsive or presents with acute neurological symptoms in the postintervention period after *** current gold standard for diagnosis is computed tomography scan of the *** recognition of this complication we suggest immediate hyperbaric oxygen therapy,if available.

In this paper, the well-known Cholesky Algorithm (for solving simultaneous linear equations, or SLE) is re-visited, with the ultimate goal of developing a simple, user-friendly, attractive, and useful Java Visualization and Animation Graphical User Inter-face (GUI) software as an additional teaching tool for students to learn the Cholesky factorization in a step-by-step fashion with computer voice and animation. A demo video of the Cholesky Decomposition (or factorization) animation and result can be viewed online from the website: http://***/~imako001/cholesky/demo/***. the software tool developed from this work can be used for both students and their instructors not only to master this technical subject, but also to provide a dynamic/valuable tool for obtaining the solutions for homework assignments, class examinations, self-assessment studies, and other coursework related activities. Various transportation engineering applications of SLE are cited. Engineering educators who have adopted “flipped classroom instruction” can also utilize this Java Visualization and Animation software for students to “self-learning” these algorithms at their own time (and at their preferable locations), and use valuable class-meeting time for more challenging (real-life) problems’ discussions. Statistical data for comparisons of students’ performance with and without using the developed Java computer animation are also included.

We report the gate-modulated Raman spectrum of defective graphene. We show that the intensity of the D peak can be reversibly tuned by applying a gate voltage. this effect is attributed to chemical functionalization of the graphene crystal lattice, generated by an electrochemical reaction involving the water layer trapped at the interface between silicon and graphene.

It has been reported that trivalent cerium salts are effective inhibitors for corrosion of AA2024-t3 in neutral to alkaline co rrosive enviro nments,but poor in acidic *** this study,work was done for extending corrosion resistance provided by Ce(NO_(3))_(3)to acidic pHs as low as 2.5 through the addition of iodide *** this end,potentiodynamic polarization was used to ascertain the optimum Ce(Ⅲ)concentration for the inhibition of AA2024-t3 corrosion in 3.5%NaCl *** optimum concentration is found to be in a range between 0.1 and 0.3 mmol/L Ce(Ⅲ).this optimum concentration also gives a maximum width of the passive region under the pitting potential(Epit).Based on this optimization,further work was performed as a function of pH without and in the presence of 0.01 mol/L KI at five pH values(2.5,4,5,7,and 8).Without iodide the best inhibition provided by the Ce(Ⅲ)cation is at pH=7 but active corrosion is observed at pH=2.5 with an estimated inhibitor efficiency(-37.6%).the addition of iodide ions(I^(-))reverses the poor corrosion resistance whereby the inhibitor efficiency becomes 47.7%.Moreover,at pH=4 the efficiency is also increased from 54.0%to 81.0%with iodide addition providing a significant improvement over Ce(Ⅲ)cations alone under acidic *** is a synergistic effect between I-anion and Ce(Ⅲ)cation,which is determined to be 2.4 and 2.1 at pH=2.5and 4.0,*** pH=5 and 7 there is virtually no change in inhibition but at pH=8 the inhibition falls away due to a considerable amount of cerium precipitating out of solution as cerium *** protective film formed on sites in the aluminium alloy surface at different pH values was examined by both scanning electron microscopy with energy dispersive X-ray analysis and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy to determine the role of these ions as a function of pH in surface *** is proposed that at pH=2.5 protection is provided by a bilayer adsorption of iodide with"cap

Luminescent solar concentrators(LSCs)have recently emerged as a promising receiver technology in free-space optical communications due to their inherent ability to collect light from a wide field-of-view and concentrate it into small areas,thus leading to high optical *** high-speed communication systems integrating LSCs in their detector blocks have already been demonstrated,with the majority of efforts so far being devoted to maximising the received optical power and the system's ***,LSCs may pose a severe bottleneck on the bandwidth of such communication channels due to the comparably slow timescale of the fluorescence events involved,a situation further aggravated by the inherent reabsorption in these systems,and yet,an in-depth study into such dynamic effects remains absent in the *** fill this gap,we have developed a comprehensive analytical solution that delineates the fundamental bandwidth limits of LSCs as optical detectors in arbitrary free-space optical links,and establishes their equivalence with simple RC low-pass electrical ***,we demonstrate a time-domain Monte Carlo simulation platform,an indispensable tool in the multiparameter optimisation of LSC-based receiver *** work offers vital insight into LSC system dynamic behaviour and paves the way to evaluate the technology for a wide range of applications,including visible light communications,high-speed video recording,and real-time biological imaging,to name a few.

Apoptosis plays an essential role in t cell biology. thymocytes expressing nonfunctional or autoreactive tCRs are eliminated by apoptosis during development. Apoptosis also leads to the deletion of expanded effector t cells during immune responses. the dysregulation of apoptosis in the immune system results in autoimmunity, tumorogenesis and immunodeficiency. two major pathways lead to apoptosis: the intrinsic cell death pathway controlled by Bcl-2 family members and the extrinsic cell death pathway controlled by death receptor signaling. these two pathways work to- gether to regulate t lymphocyte development and function.

Per-and polyfluoroalkyl substances(PFAS)are persistent organic pollutants of concern be-cause of their ubiquitous presence in surface and ground water;analytical methods that can be used for rapid comprehensive exposure assessment and fingerprinting of PFAS are *** the fires at the Intercontinental terminals Company(ItC)in Deer Park,tX in 2019,large quantities of PFAS-containing firefighting foams were *** release of these substances into the Houston Ship Channel/Galveston Bay(HSC/GB)prompted con-cerns over the extent and level of PFAS contamination.A targeted liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry(LC-MS/MS)-based study of temporal and spatial patterns of PFAS associated with this incident revealed presence of 7 species;their levels gradually de-creased over a 6-month *** the targeted LC-MS/MS analysis was focused on about 30 PFAS molecules,it may have missed other PFAS compounds present in firefighting ***,we utilized untargeted LC-ion mobility spectrometry-mass spectrome-try(LC-IMS-MS)-based analytical approach for a more comprehensive characterization of PFAS in these water *** analyzed 31 samples from 9 sites in the HSC/GB that were collected over 5 months after the *** data showed that additional 19 PFAS were detected in surface water of HSC/GB,most of them decreased gradually after the *** features detected by LC-MS/MS correlated well in abundance with LC-IMS-MS data;however,LC-IMS-MS identified a number of additional PFAS,many known to be compo-nents of firefighting *** findings therefore illustrate that untargeted LC-IMS-MS improved our understanding of PFAS presence in complex environmental samples.
